OBYNOWEST12: @Soknow Turkish airline.
What and what will I need to do or place on my luggage so that I will not lost it.
What seat number can you recommend for me to seat. Make sure you fix the bag tags visibly . If you can look around and buy stickers with "London" or similar on it and paste it where it is still visible after wrapping. Or place it on top of the cellophane wrap. This is to help the cargo handlers sort out your bag, like suspect a mistake if they sight your bag with France bound bags when its mostly London stickers on your bag. Hope that helps. I have never lost my checked in luggage despite always transiting on my trips |

Lxpd154: First time ever writing on nairaland... Please for a nigerian who wants to study in Gambia (medical field) medicine or pharmacy, or nursing What will you advice ? From your experience for do u think it's worth it Please I'm open for suggestions This is my candid advice for you, Op and others looking to migrate. Gambia is a mono economy solely dependent on tourism. With a very small population/implying that the market is equally small. Minus the foreign tourist trooping in and Gambia is DEAD. Lets pray something of the Covid19 magnitude doesn't repeat. If you are in the medical field or planning to join, I urge you to grab a Nursing certificate first from Nigeria. There will always be a HIGH demand for nurses no matter the country. Apply to any of the state schools of Nursing in Nigeria for the 3 years Diploma, on graduation you can secure a job in the UK and achieve citizenship within 3yrs. I need not explain the advantage of the citizenship. So its important to be strategic in planning your migration. Food for Thought: Do you think a Nurse working in Nigeria could ever accept to work in Gambia? |

lizboa: She is a Registered Nurse she did her nursing school @ OAU as far back as 1985, she is currently in 300l studing BNSC @ Lautech.
I have tried reading through the threads but I have not a single clue about anything cuz I am in a totally different field I would really appreciate if someone can just tell if there is a route for her and how to go about helping her sort it out.
God bless -What was the qualification she got from OAU? - Of course any Registered Nurse can migrate to the UK. Its now easier with the tier2 visa since nursing is on the shortage list. Act fast |

That's the best investment. Better than chasing visas every time you need to travel plus the negative attention the Nigerian passport gives you at foreign airports |

zoeycherie: Yes, it has happened to me twice now and I'm beginning to sense a pattern.
Every time I meet a Nigerian guy living abroad, he turns out to be a massive asshole. You get the vibe that they hate women or they think that every Nigerian woman that talks to them online is after their money.
They are rude, dismissive or just very arrogant.
Is it impossible to meet nice Nigerian men living abroad?
PS: Home based Nigerian guys, do keep your unoriginal "gold digger" comments to yourself. You guys marry transgender nurses and foreign grannies for paper, so you're in no position to judge me. Go to AskToMarry.com You will meet the right personalities |

BlueBeard: Good afternoon everyone, please how true is this information below, in regards to NHS and foreign trained nurses?
Hello Nurses,
Please find below update from most of the NHS employers:
Organisations recruiting healthcare professionals to the UK should still be following the UK Code of Practice for international recruitment during this unprecedented time.
What is NHS code of conduct? The NHS code of conduct was put together in 2004. It outline that Developing countries should not be targeted for recruitment.
This means you cannot advertise, promote or target nurses from developing countries or countries which accepts healthcare allowances from WHO.
India & Philippine are also included in the list but UK government signed special agreement with India & Philippine to recruit nurses.
We were allowed to accept applications if someone contact us directly either through email, phone or our website and we have been doing that over the years.
But in recent week we had an email from our NHS partners who told us not to recruit nurses from developing countries. This also applies for India or Philippine nurses working in developing countries too.
The Covid situation has brought abou drastic changes in the industry and as almost every country realised the importance of healthcare staff in recent days.
NHS employers at the moment don't want to recruit nurses from developing countries through third party. The active recruitment of healthcare staff from developing countries is prohibited, while recruitment agencies should not be supplying any staff from the developing countries list.
NHS Employers may consider unsolicited applications direct from an individual in a developing country if that individual is making an application directly to the hospital and not using a third party.
Due to this development, we have decided not to accept applications until further notice. You may please look around for other options. The only option I can see ahead is get a job in a Care Home/Private hospital.
Wishing you all the very best. Thank you. This is the present reality. But there is a legal way around this covid hitch |

Mexico is Latin America Big deal about Mexico used to be as a back-door ( land route) into USA. Language is Spanish. Can you speak that. Economy is really bad. They are hard workers. And supply some of the best workermen all over the USA. Embassy is in Asokoro Abuja. Book an appointment through MEXITEL. https://mexitel.sre.gob.mx/ You don't need a visa to visit Mexico if you have a valid Canadian or USA visa. |

Saintp: I remember a day before we left naija, I and my wife went to the bank, I withdraw 8m and my wife withdrew 2m and we changed it to Dollars in preparation of our journey the following day.
My cousin was mad. He was like "you are stupid ooo. How can you go and burn 10m abroad instead of investing it here" He made a last ditch attempt to stop me by showing me lands, properties that I can buy that will generate profit for me. He also brought a business idea which he says will double the money in 18 months.
After all his rant, I told him that man shall not live by money alone. I am not a slave to money and I want more than just money.
Most people don't understand why someone wants to leave naija. The reasons look stupid to them. But then there is no right or wrong, it is just a matter what you want out of life. We can't all have the same mentality.
This is why I tell people not to do follow follow but examine themselves properly to be sure what their interests are before making any immigration decision.
My only regret today is that I should have left naija earlier than when I left but thank God I left finally. WISDOM. You are wise. More blessings |

Endywitty: [I received a feedback from one I applied to as seen in the attachment. ]how did you come to the conclusion that they no longer recruit nurses for developing countries? Yes. Maybe to stop the brain-drain and impending health-sector collapse resulting from massive economic migration from developing countries. The rule only applies to health sector workers in developing countries. If you are a Nigerian nurse in France or the Caribbean you can apply to NHS |

Supetheboys: Try nurseplusuk.com I messaged them asking if they can employ a nurse from Nigeria and their response was that I need to have a valid UK visa. That's a positive response. Some employers would even require that you be resident in-country before you apply |

With 150,000 USD you can buy citizenship there so that you enjoy visa free status to all Europe, and other developed countries. There is a cheaper way around now. You can get the citizenship for 6,000 usd |

stanbell2014: Please I would like to know which country is flexible to relocate with my family apart from Canada and what's the best way for me to begin? If you DON'T plan on working or be economically dependent on your host country then Ecuador is perfect as cost of living is very moderate and many Americans are moving there for similar reason. However if you are planning on working or doing business to generate income in your host country, then what you have said here is grossly inadequate for anyone to advice you. You can chat me up |
