Very simple you must have practical skill.
Can you skill be used for practical application?
Abi na just the examples you see online?
Haha the bolded made me laugh. Though it seems a bit hard as I feel the person on your mention is a newbie and may not understand your valid point.
I see many portfolios trending here and there probably based on "online examples" anyway programming is a practical job (problem solving with codes), so I doubt if people may think they can practice by "outsourcing" .
What do I know, people believe anything is possible now; "just ASK GOOGLE"
ProgrammingRe: Everything Javascript: Frontend And Backend by All4good: 9:53am On May 11, 2021
Dremca:
Let me come back to what HTML, CSS and Javascript really do now we have known what makes a Frontend of a website. Imagine, you're building a house. The very first thing you think of is the land where the house will be built. That land is known as a domain name examples are Facebook.com, Google.com etc. These are addresses that shows where the website is situated same way the land gives address to where the house is located.

The next phase of the building is to get an Architect to draw the house on paper showing all the features the house should have like lighting, the kind of roofing and all that. In the web, the person responsible for this drawing is known as a User Interface designer (UI designer).

After the Architect of the this website is done with his drawing, he passes it on to the Frontend developer who then designs the website according the drawings of the Architect (UI designer). This is where the Frontend developer job starts.

Back to our house analogy, so after the designs has been done by the Architect, the building engineer supervises the bricklayer on how to lay the foundation of the house and subsequently lay blocks. Those block laying is the skeletal part of the building, that's where HTML comes in. HTML is used in building the structure of the house defining if the website will have a click button or how many text content it will have.

Once the building is ready, the next thing is to builtify it with nice roofing, plaster it and then paint it, fence the house and mount gate. That's where the job of the CSS comes in. CSS is simply used to add beauty to the website.

As a matter of fact, we have a complete building (website) but this kind of website doesn't do anything special and is known as static website because is doesn't change. A website can be built with just HTML and CSS. Imagine, the owner of the house wants a type gate that opens automatically the moment a car approaches the gate or he wants the outside light to switch on automatically once is night. That's where the idea of dynamic website comes in and we then make use of Javascript to add interactivity to our website. We can decide to program the website to open a new page after 30seconds of inactivity or another interactivity we may want.
Fantastic analogy. Seconded.
This is good for aspiring programmers who keep asking which to start with.

The relevance of Javascript can't be overemphasized. And that lends credence to the perennial importance of HTML since Javascript is usually embedded in html files.

Hello, everyone. Can a building plan be redesigned, even when the foundation+flooring has been done, please?
Sure you can change your concept or use of a finished or on-going building at any time. But once the Architects are done redesigning, make sure your structural engineer also redesigns the structural elements. This equally applies even when the changes involves just a small section of an ongoing construction.

Thanks for sharing.

Immediately my client saw the post, he rushed to ask me why I didn’t reply the post. I told him it’s nothing to worry about. 10mm glass is more than adequate for a skylight.

33mm + thickness is good for glass floor. Anything higher fall into bullet resistant ballistic glass class.

To even lift the 10mm glass is a great concern right now grin
Hehe he, ahh so your client they supervise you from here.

Sorry my bad. I lost my arithmetic for a while. I was testing my son on his unit conversions when it occurred to me what I had typed here some hours earlier and because I feared someone could make reference to it and make some poor judgement I quickly had to rush back and retract.
Abeg no vex. 1cm thick glass can take some impact as well as resist considerable point load some distance from its support.
That said, it is still glass and breakable, as such you will need to take precautions (safety is the essence of Design) and ensure that there are no Windows overlooking the roof from which someone could drop a phone, plate etc; or a tree that could grow so tall in future and its branch over the glass roof.
Carry on my Brother. I am a safety freak grin

Need advise from the gurus in the house.

Will there be a structural concern if the design of the rooms/flats on the first floor in a story building is different from the ones on the ground floor.
Your question is vague.

If you are asking if your ground floor arrangement must be same with the upper floor for structural stability, then the answer is NO. It's the responsibility of your structural engineer to design the building according to its loading conditions.

However, if you are suggesting that you want to change the floor arrangement from what 2ad originally designed, then there is a "structural concern" and you need to revert to your Structural Engineer .

WhiteRuler:
I'm a man, precisely 33 years old. I graduated from the University in 2019 at age 31.

Let me also add that @33 now, there are some jobs I can't do again because of some changes in my health any strenuous job now is not for me as it makes me breath heavily like an asthmatic patient; any job that requires standing for long or bending down not for me due to broken waist (although these might be solvable issues but for now, I can't tell cos I have no money to visit health facility).

Still living in one thatch house, poor, hungry and starving, no wife, no kid(s) (not even a serious girlfriend), no job, no car and nothing to show for my 33 years on earth. This is why I'm feeling like I have failed in life and it has made me to always be ashamed of myself and always trying to avoid meeting my mates who are doing well.

What are even the possibility of getting a job as I have no capital for business? Note: between 2019 and now,

I've learnt several online money making skills but yet to make a kobo out of it all. Note also: ordinarily, I wouldn't seek employment (private or government) because I'm multi talented e.g in football, entertainment or business but these talents need money to develop which is what I'm lacking.

My questions:
Do you think I have failed or I'm a failure in life? What is the future holding for me? As at today, the only thing I can boast of is "I am a graduate". Nothing more...like I said, poor, hungry and starving.

Help me with good pieces of advice please before my mind begins to consider evil as fastest way of making money. Thanks.
First of, if you wrote this without Grammarly software then you are Marvelous and you have just restored my faith for the Nigerian Youths.

At the bolded (according to you), so it is your mates that probably took the short-cut to wealth that you are "ashamed" of. Go close and see if they are really proud of themselves or just living a-make-belief life.

Where in Naija are you located. I mean if you were passing through all these in the UK or USA, you won't be thinking all hope is gone. Afterall Colonel Sanders ( the owner of KFC) was still selling chickens door to door at age 60 and you are just 33.

Single Graduate, that can vomit English like this (except them help you write this post shocked ), then Sisters and Aunties no they take turn for your kitchen and the Orza room? Why? Where you dey throw your hook hmmm.. grin
When I was in this your present stage (husband material) the table turned, it was now the sisters using their money to buy me launch, so I am asking, who is your Mentor cool

Your self esteem ( like most Nigerians, young and old) is battered and needs to be revamped. Then you can move on conquering like the Lion you have proven to be.

Trust me it doesn't take God one year to change your financial status and you acquire all those things you mentioned as measures of SUCCESS.

Keep your Bible close, read it in and out of season ( trouble). Let Elohim guide you, and you will never fail. God's people may face tough times like Job but they bounce back better because God can NOT fail.

Some Immediate Tips: (To be Achieved within 6 months)
I) Why you never marry? DON'T tell me money because MONEY really doesn't matter when singing marriage to women but you have to be certain she is gainfully employed (even if she get her own tailoring outfit or a Nurse, that's COOL). You have to SHINE your Eyes, Love from head before your heart. CALL me for details before we cast the parol. LOL
ii) Can you drive, getting into commercial transport is easy (driving for someone, even on hire purchase); which reminds me, those your "mates" you are envying their cars might just be Taxi drivers. Guy use your head, no let those you better pass flog you.
iii) You need to get yourself an international passport, learn German language while you are fixing your self a wife and an odd job that won't break your back.

For other details and guidance, Call me

I am a developer, I have Instagram saver which uses sessions to get data and also Facebook story saver on play store. I monetize using Facebook Audience Network,
If you are domiciled within USA and Canada they would most likely sue you in a court especially for trademark infringement which is serious.

But from the tone of their mail they seem incapacitated and more or less pleading with you to back out from their content.

My Advice:
Remove any FB or IG trademark from your app, you don't want that liability it's internationally protected. That is the major stuff they have against you.
As for the data scraping, they can't pursue it as they don't want any media attention regarding data which they are the biggest thief the world knows today.
This is the much I can say based on the details you have provided regarding your app.

I am currently in Germany still learning and planning to come to UK eventually, the job market in UK is big for Data analytics and Machine learning.
If I were you, as a family man, I will stay in Germany to help my Kids pickup a 2nd language. Learning spoken languages are as important as learning programming languages.

As for job availablity for Data Analyst, I don't think it's limited by Space or Environment. There are just too many remote job openings for Data Analyst, meaning you can work from anywhere.

Good day Mentors and fellow Data Science/Analytics Enthusiasts

Recently I moved to the UK but seeing the way way I.T is making waves here, I have decided to reignite my passion for data science so I need your advice and answers to some of my questions

1. Like how many months would it take a newcomer
2. I have intermediate knowledge on excel,
3. I started the datascience journey late last year with Coursera and IBM and even had some projects submitted on github, done 5 out of 9 stages on IBM_coursera Data Science

Thanks in anticipation for your responses
You are already on the right course.

1. Three (3) months is enough if you are learning full-time.

2. Excel will always remain the foundation for data analysis. It's vital that all Data Analyst keep improving their Excel proficiency. I recall performing regression analysis with Excel back in 2001 (20yrs ago) and it's still relevant even today.

3. Finish the IBM Data Analyst certificate and jump on the Google Data Analyst certificate.
Write/ make detailed notes of your learnings as that will be your fall back in future. Mainly a confidence booster when you move into the real world or confronted with interview preparation.
Now as regards the set of tools you need to study/acquire to be set for the real world; those two Coursera courses are perfect and I will explain.
Both courses will issue you with Industry recognised certificates and in the course Capstone practice that offer you with projects that you can use in your CV as work experience. This certificates can be linked to your LinkedIn profile.
Finally between both courses, you will learn the following tools:
- Google sheets, Excel
- MySQL, MongoDB (NoSQL)
- Python, R
Above are what the 2 biggest employers of Data Analyst/Scientists specify as their knowledge base for their employees

I'm a welding apprentice and I think it's time to prepare for the future.

I have some questions bothering me, I would like to get answers.

1.)After my apprenticeship program is over, how do I get a contract job in companies especially foreign companies.
2.)Do I need any certificate to further my career? If yes, what are they?
The level of welding training you are currently pursuing is called Structural welding in the oil and gas industry. However there isn't much demand for them.
If seeking corporate employment especially in the oil and gas sector you have to up your skill to a pipeline welder.
That said there isn't much difference as a pipeline welder is actually a structural welder. If you received proper Structural welding training, you should be able to strike an arc, sustain it from beginning to the end of your weld. Create effective root pass.

So basically if you are a very good structural welder, if you have learnt from the best, not some tag and weld outfit, then you should be able to pass a recruitment test for pipeline welders. And you don't need to pay anyone for such opportunity because when the opening comes majority of welders fail the test and search for welders is frantic in order to meet up with project start date.

Coding is challenging (write, debug and run) and being able to sell your skill for the right price is increasingly tougher these days so it's easy to be demotivated.
Mentors have always adviced that it is best practice to have a personal project you would be developing with what you are learning. This will help you stay focused on what languages you need to achieve a set goal. Rather than jumping from learning one language after another.

There is nothing Elohim can not do. So Start by asking Him to send you helpers as well as giving you clarity in reasoning.

Then locate people (not related to you) with similar background and share their experience with a view to helping them. In the course of doing this you will find your own solutions.

I believe this would cater to your present situation. But if you still need someone to talk to feel free to call or chat me

Don't let your knowledge of all the countries on the globe go wasted. With some additional knowledge of the languages/culture/cuisine and attractions of those countries up your sleeve, then you have a great content for a YouTube channel with huge subscribers.
BUT, yes the BIG challenge "how to start with ZERO savings". Trust me if I knew, I would have increased my travel count to more than six countries in 3 continents.
