4. Do you have something else doing?
Ans: yes sir I have.

5. Where are you at the moment?
Ans: Lagos sir

6. Ok that’s fine, we are calling to compile a list for those to report to camp soon hopefully next week
Ans: ok sir, I got another job so I can’t go. Thanks sir.

7. Ok that’s fine, wish you best of luck in your career path
Ans: thanks sir and God bless.

That was our conversation so pls be rest assured the recruitment is still on. Pls post this but ensure you remove my email address from the post. Thanks

I was recruited during the last campaign back in 2012 without knowing anyone. I have many friends and coursemates as well who got in that year without knowing anyone. (I have since left so really don't have any 'insider' news)

Prepare well for the interview and pray for a bit of luck. I remember seeing my interview score, and how it was graded. The interview usually appears easy and most people leave the interview panel feeling good but not everyone will eventually make it. So be prepared.

Over 500 was recruited during the 2012 recruitment. Hopefully, more will be recruited this year. Every state will be represented.

templar if you are serious let us get more info. usually dss only allows few days highest a week for submitting applications so if u are being honest prove it to us. some of us live far from our state or origin.

not trying to be a wet blanket but objectivity will show that even if they choose to conduct fresh recruitment this year, they wont b doing anything out of the ordinary. you are asking how they would train them and what will happen next year. they could easily commence a fresh recruitments and the new recruits will go to camp by december or january. what will happen next year? simple - there wont be any recruitment. you think its not possible? let me take you down memory lane. in 2008 the dss did not conduct recruitment which shouldnt have been considering the purported 'two year' rule. guess what? they conducted recruitment in 2009 which is supposed to be a non recruitment year. the calender continued to fluctuate until 2014 when the then dgss carried out a recruitment which he replicated in 2016. now we have a new dgss. dont you think it would be uncharitable to imagine that he wouldnt reserve the right to reconsider the overall recruitment protocol? all i am saying is that even if a new recruitment were to be announced this year it wont be out of place. infact there is a precedent

A statement by its Spokesman, Peter Afunanya, advised Nigerians to shun advertisement being circulated on social media platforms.


“The Service wishes to state that the information is not correct and should be treated as a scam by fraudsters to swindle unsuspecting members of the public, particularly job applicants”, it noted.

“This statement, therefore, serves as an advice to potential victims to be wary of the misleading advertorial so as not to fall into the hands of unscrupulous persons that may defraud them.

“Those seeking information on recruitment into the Service are advised to verify such from its State Commands and other formations.

abeg which of you have observed that anytime dss comes out to debunk rumours of recruitment something is usually in the offing. for instance in december 2015 they announced they were not recruiting only to start accepting applications in january. the same thing repeated itself in 2017. they announced in december of that year that the public should shun rumours of recruitment but lo! they started accepting applications in january. look I might be right or not but what if this announcement is the way the dss pre announces a forthcoming recruitment codedly. judging by the patterns I have cited above they might start accepting fresh applications next month. remember there is no law that dss must start accepting applications in january. in 2014 they accepted applications in august. in 2012 it was around the september or so. who knows guys, anything is fuckiing possible

Which brings me to ask, are these support staff vacancies different from that for "regular" NCS officers? If so, how different? Thanks.

A candid question. the support staff are generally what the police would call specialists. they are not usually posted or transferred around the departments like the general duty officers. to be sure you cannot attain certain ranks as a general duty officer because as a support staff u are generally confined to one department - wit regards to ur speciality - but in the end some are able to transit to general duty officers

my first but its usually rowdy. the best recruitment i have seen so far was d one organized by the police in 2016. everything was done to standard including the aptitude test and i can tell u for free many people got d job on merit.
