All my people in the struggle, how market? Surely I can't be the only one noticing that all the care homes and NHS trusts, offering sponsorships before, are no longer doing so again? As in, they officially write it now that, "we are no longer accepting applicants who require overseas sponsorships". Clear lesson about not ever dragging your matter, whenever opportunity presents itself. I knew the very first day this thing started last year oo. But no, I must wait until new year... Now see. God de sha. I'm not discouraging anyone from continuing to try oo. Just telling things as they are. |
Aww beauty. That's a lot of teasing for one poor heart to bear! I can just imagine the heartbreak. I wouldn't have been able to sleep for one week. Ndo. It's probably the reason why they've been rejecting applications left, right and center these days. It might seem wicked, but they're really being kind, by not even having an interview in the first instance. I must state that I prefer it like this abeg. There's only so much disappointment that someone can bear. That said, I don't even know a lot of jobs without experience, that would be placed above band 2. It can be difficult to see. Even the requirements for band 3 sometimes, will make you feel like it's not ordinary NVQ 2 or 3 they are asking for. And salary difference might not even be much. We will be alright. Perhaps the solution is to restrategize and just focus on care homes. Afterall, UK is UK. Once we get there, we reggae the reggae and align as we originally aspired to. |
Emurate1:Good one. Gist us how it pans out!! |
oniwoski:It is well. If person too find something, dem go see am. We will find what we are looking for, in time. |
LagosismyHome:But this has not been reflected in the visa eligibility requirement. Or has it? Because I see even the NHS asking people requiring certificate of sponsorship to apply for such jobs. |
Jaybadestboy:Omoo...you have also virtually toured UK oo ...and have landed something. You are giving me hope.Nouveau care that is giving link to sister companies...God is watching them. |
Another matter, please help me understand..if the required salary for sponsorship is 20 plus and 10.10, why are some companies inviting people requiring sponsorship to apply, even though their offer can be as low as 18k...? I am not understanding that going rate something something. |
Teacup:All na cruise. Dem de use una de wait for licence. No one can tell what will happen, when e set. Shaa know everybody will not scale through. My advice? Keep applying to other places, to avoid stories that touch the kidney. |
Yemite1845:Don't mind them. Find one better connect, like a registrar or something and it will come out. I just succeeded in being reissued after years of asking for mine (names were misspelt). I paid like white man sha with many many bring this and bring that like nollywood babalawo....but it came out las las and was collected by someone I sent to the school. |
Thanks jum33 and deltawest. One would imagine that I've gotten ten offers like this. Nonetheless, I don't use to like rough play. |
DeltaWest:Any idea how long their suspensions last? 'cos I see they've done the same in times past. And what happens to an offer in process? Does an employer revert their offer? |
Widall:Ehnn? Abeg somebody subtitle this blahh. My eye is turning me. Wetin consign Nigeria wey consign Ukraine? Were they not doing refugee visas before? And why only Nigeria? |
dee1504:Ok, thanks Dee! I hope you are holding up superbly? Regards. |
DreamerDoer:Who is asking? The only way to prove work experience is to answer questions knowledgably at interviews and to show recommendation/reference letters...and maybe payslips... letters of appointment.. |
Guys please I have an incorrectly spelt name on my degree certificate and I wish to upload it on the Naric website for evaluation. Is it acceptable to do that with an affidavit? |
Guys, I'm in a bit of a fix abeg. My name was spelt incorrectly on my degree certificate. I tried to correct it some eight years back, but my school frustrated the life out of me and so I left them to God, but continued my life with a sworn affidavit. Now I don't know if it can be uploaded to Naric like that, with an affidavit...is it doable and will Naric answer me? Someone told me Oyinbo school applications accommodate such, but I don't know about Naric... PS: I've tried to reconnect with my school, but "the person" is charging 45k. That will go a long way in the Naric process... Again, please what relationship does my name on Certificate has to do with the medium of instruction letter? Isn't it typed by the school officials? Even my transcripts have the correct name, but he insists that the name on the degree would need to be changed? |
Ifesinachi22:Infact, furtherance to this, everyone should be on the lookout for key words like experienced care assistant and what not... Because if they said no experience is needed, then you should prep to answer questions like why you want to be a carer. But if you venture see experience within care setting or any shade of experience at all, my people, abeg endeavour to tie your wrapper strong for that interview. I read on another forum of this kain tin and I'm not finding it funny again, because I'm still in naija ooo |
Ifesinachi22:Even fellow Brits confirm that it is can be difficult to enter the NHS, but that is not to say that applicants that are formidable, beyond reasonable doubt, don't get in. I feel you will break them the next time you encounter them, if you choose to apply to them again. This is just part of the larger picture. Wait for it. |
Ifesinachi22:Lemme just say it then: NHS people are somehow. Seems like they wanted to shake you off by every means, only after discovering that they sent you an invite and never took cognizance of the fact that you are outside the UK. But not to worry, something will give. Just keep moving. |
Ifesinachi22:Awww, sooo sorry. Interestingly, I was asking someone only yesterday about the appropriate "WiFi" to use for interviews. No Jupiter should have made you use a phone network or at least, you should have had a call barring app or something. Anyways, like others have said, don't give up. If you could clinch an interview, then you can do it again. Just push push. I wish you all the best and try to rehearse answers to possible care questions. They are all over the internet. Again, to be doubly thorough, answers to most scenario based questions are embedded in short care courses. You'll figure it out. If we get an easy interviewer, lucky us, but if we won't, we need to brace up. The competition has gotten stiff as it is, with more people becoming aware of this freebie and we might be way past the era of only mentioning the six C's. Ndo and cheer up, brother.. |
Jaybadestboy:Apart from needing some alone time to collect my thoughts, after heavy interaction with grandma, I would have loved live-in, so I can also avoid house rent, but I wish to bring family over later...so I'm really not sure that Oyinbo client will give us boys quarter. I even also read that you could be doing two weeks on and two weeks off. So what will happen to kids in that two weeks, idk....cos I feel hubby will not want to stay permanently.. that's just my personal matter sha. Your case might be better. You are a guy afterall. For domiciliary....hmnnn..sounds like a lot of trouble. Driving or however, from place to place. And for the same range of peanuts...I no fit shout abeg. The best I feel, is care home. If I can get the types that will permit negotiation, I hope to do our regular Nigerian eight hours, after all school na free. Plus, there are others to act as witnesses, incase of any kain skoin skoin Just being open to options though.... otherwise, I still de apply for my physiology jobs oo |
EnglandAmaka: ![]() |
EnglandAmaka:Yes oo..I was just telling myself the same thing the other day. Services that I actively pay for here in Nigeria and I found myself wondering if this is karma, coming around to bite me in the ass? I wouldn't mind a health assistant job with the NHS for a smaller pay abeg. After all, I plan to advance my career, regardless. But againnn, if way no way, I go go go the way oo ...Na the visa be the Koko. I no de all those I love old people and all those fabu |
dee1504:Ehnnnnnnnnnnnnn?!!! |
How strange that they exempt Biological and Physical Science people though. Can't we be criminals, abi what am I missing? |
EngrVin:I'm just telling things as they are. Being able to drive in itself, is not just about moving the vehicle. It is an art that can only really be mastered by consistent practice and timmme. We need to remove the rose hued glasses from our eyes. The average naija guy that has touched steering once will never agree that they cannot drive. I run a driving school so I've seen all manner of students. The ones that boast of how they can park and re-park in their daddy's compound, to those that "know" how to drive, but want refresher training to find courage with which they will ply roads. I even respect them, because they acknowledge that they cannot drive and are doing something proactive about it. That our braggadocio is helping to hide incompetence in this jungle called Naija, should not make us feel confident that we can also wing it with Oyinbo people. Because I'm saying it again, the consequences can be dire. I have said my own oo. Of the scores of jobs out there, I don't see why you cannot avoid the category that wants someone that can drive, when you can't or are inadequate. It's like saying we should not discourage people from claiming to be Phlebotomists since they can learn the procedure on YouTube. |
Licence or not, how can you fake knowing how to drive? Lol. You will just turn to inmate from carer by the time you use somebody's grandmother to jam bridge. |
dee1504:Ohhhh... I'm overwhelmed by this show of kindness and support. Thanks soo much Dee! I will keep everyone updated. Be it in a few weeks or year end. I don mean this UK, I don mean am be that. God bless all our struggles. |
Divinemercyy:How nice of you to say this. I wish him well too. |
dee1504:Thanks a lot. I was unconsciously designated as the chief in charge of EEG during the contract and I must say it was somehow satisfying, given that it tasked my head a lot more than did the ECG and Spirometry...but that's not to say that I actively seek for stress sha. So I would say I'm most proficient in the neuro (as per naija level). Then again, I have one bias deeeep down about the fact that most neuro cases really have no absolute solution. So so so, I can still manage Respiratory PSG. In brief, I can do neuro or respiratory physiology. You can advise me further please with regards to career prospects and satisfaction of cos..I wish to enjoy the money I work for... Also, because I wasn't seeing a physiology future in Nigeria, I don't have a masters. Which brings me to another question; can I be accepted on that RCCP register without a masters degree? And I'm seeing many many things that are tiring me jare. Please help me. I would simply go for carer, but that would be insulting the effort I put into college of medicine, asides the fact that that area is steadily drawing plenty attention. And I'll check that medical locum stuff. Thanks so much. |
dee1504:Mark my words; God is going to bless you. Please give me link to the short courses. Are they free? I have a 3+ years of working experience at an FMC doing ECG/EEG and Spirometry in an actual Physiology unit. The other Echo, Endoscopy, dialysis and side lab matters can be adequately fine-tuned too, if push comes to shove. |
Neytron4U:Hello. Please did you succeed to get lautech to send your transcript to Sweden, online? And if yes, how long did it take? |

...and have landed something. You are giving me hope.
