this thread was suppose to enable the youth plan and invest in this big markets look for opportunities in the growing population, but tribal bigots decided to derail the thread with tribal slurs. its painful reading this comments

for the serious minded people this are opportunities in this markets I believe commodities like food and online services should sell well with this markets, if the youth look at the market well our millions are hidden in this thriving population
IslamRe: Islamic Rulings On Genotype In Marriage by Almaheed: 3:16pm On Aug 04, 2017
well am not to knowledgeable about the Quran but have stayed around Islamic scholars and leaders of different race and tribes...on this topic I would like to point out first that Islamic teaching is divided into two sphere one as a spiritual doctrine and the other as a political tool of a particular kind of people at a given time.

indeed most people tend to argue about the Qur'an and its teaching without taking cognisance of the two sphere they tend to override political sphere into the spiritual, and tend to bring conclusions out of hadith's that tend to soothe some particular kind of people at a given time.

with regard to the topic I think the op goofed a lot he made a mockery of the good book and showed is ignorance, at this given time and age as it was written in the Quran to always perform background check on the family of the person you intend to marry, which in modern time includes genotype. indeed there are Muslims who make other Muslims look bad, they are lost always fanatical with their ideology. but I appreciate the effort of other Muslims on this forum that tried to correct the op regarding is doctrine. we need more of this.

even the Saud's do genotype so why most we twist the Quran for egoistic reason, false claim of self esteem, calling others infidels because they do not agree with your ideology, I even saw a post when the op stereotyped someone using the ayatollah... its only Muslims that can fix Islamic extremism

So its only strategic areas in Naija that requires 24hours uninterrupted power supply...! Na wa o for these our kind of mentality.

What a rocket science indeed
think within the context, with the amount of power we are generating we can't afford to give 24hrs power supply to all household but we can provide to key strategic places that would help in the growth of the economy. its a known fact that an industrious place like ariaria need steady power supply to assist with ingenious business there. it is just logic.

propaganda does not last forever. Nigeria defense HQ take note thisnus not a conventional war for the military, what are the jobs of the Nigerian police and the civil defence corps we need a better trained police system l. not the quota system of recruitment that undermines credible talent into the system. of course let state the fact most of the places that this government claims they control have been taken before the 2015 election.

you can't fool the people all the time. APC government
PoliticsRe: IPOB Lagos Rally: What FFK Wrote About Igbos In 2013 by Almaheed: 9:26pm On Aug 02, 2017
well this is the whole truth. for some reasons FFK gives us empirical facts. i always have this bad taste in my mouth when Easterners complain about Yoruba's and label them with all sort of names but in the real sense Yoruba's have only shown brotherly love and affection to the Igbo's... after the civil war onyeka onwenu started that she knows are fathers house in port Harcourt but she cannot enter there because the indigenous people of port Harcourt claimed her fathers house and would kill her if she attempted to go.

while in the west it was noted that Yoruba's even collected rent on properties on behalf of their eastern brothers and paid them when they got back from the war. who in the real sense is adding insult to injury now in the scheme of things. the easterner have been ungrateful, arrogant and despotic. they need to go and read their history books without prejudice but with an open mind yo know who their enemies really. if am to give you a hint the Igbo's enemy is themselves.

Music/RadioRe: 10 Fela Songs That Are Still Relevant In 2017, 20 Years After His Death by Almaheed: 6:01pm On Aug 02, 2017
this song should make us reflect as Nigerians and see the truth in our society, those that feel they should secede should think it through isn't it the same mentality in Nigeria they would be obtainable in the new country. we must hold ourselves accountable especially our leaders who are the custodian of our affairs.

I believe now is the time of the youth. we should stop complaining and start to create pressure group that would bring about the positive change we want.

I am not saying this guy is innocent but for us to finally end this ritual killing menace NPF have to up their game and be more tactically

CampuChan:
The constitution is clear about sick presidents too ill to continue their mandate.
Would you say Buhari is well enough to continue? Let him not turn up for work on Monday and let's see.
in what part of the constitution did it say so, the law stipulates that its only the federal executive council that can pass a vote of no confidence on the president. my friend Nigeria is doomed buhari would be president even till 2019 if he chooses to stay in London

this are the reason the 1999 constitution needs to be overhaul there are so many lacuna and loopholes in the law. the clamor for restructuring goes beyond passing some amendment bills it as to deal with all this issues with the constitution they exact excessive power to the ruling class

reading through the comments I couldn't help but shake my head at how primitive and despotic the average youth on nairaland is its shameful and irritating... this is a woman fighting for the voiceless, there are still over 113 girls left yo be rescued and reading through I didn't see anybody say something reasonable. if they were your sisters would you comment like this, am convinced that most of you with your comments don't have the patience to look through the facts of the chibok girls saga. indeed we are lost when someone who tends to help others is brought down because of cheap politics of 2015, all of you are shameless and inhumane if you think oby is doing this for political gains. I feel pained when the youth speak without reasoning. nairaland is a shadow if itself it as degenerated to a comic forum and less inspiring.

PoliticsRe: Lauretta Onochie Mocks Fayose & FFK With Photos Of President Buhari & Governors by Almaheed: 11:34pm On Jul 26, 2017
Slai1:
I think anyone using the recent pictures of the president to challenge those who spoke out for the right thing to be done when the Precidency was incommunicado with Nigerians for over 2 months about the true state of the President's health are being overtly stupid.

Those that asked for sincerity and truth never said they wished the president dead, they merely did what could be rightly done in any sane society. For speaking out loud, why would the first citizen's true state of health be shrouded in secrecy, controversy and politics.

Again, that the president is strong enough to pose for photographs is not good enough. The task of governing 180million people is much more Herculean than that.

If you ask me, President Buhari will recover better and live longer if he frees himself from the rigors of running Nigeria. Truth be told!
God you speak the truth, I don't know the reason why we Nigerians tend to be myopic with our reasoning. with all the challenges facing the country do we deserve a sick president in the first place, how do we get ourselves here.

look at the media spark behind the story like it some big developmental achievement that we could see the president with some state governors, this is a new low for our democracy but we live in a society where truth is strange and those that speak the truth are despise.

its just sad.

This Commissioner for the Environment, Dr. Babatunde Adejare thinks he is smarter than the other commissioners before him who overlooked these houses.

Being overzealous doesn't pay in this country.
Dora Akunyili learnt that the hard way.

I'd advise he thinks about his life and family first before he thinks of the Lagos flood.

After all,
Water will always find it's level.
take your thrash talk out of here, I wanted to avoid replying you but your comments ooze of stupidity. this is a man trying to right a wrong and you call him overzealous, someone who was appointed to make Lagos environment friendly. when you don't live in Lagos why won't you rant your stupidity

it is such a shame what Nigerian leadership as become, a president that promised when he was campaigning that he would stop all medical trips for public office holder is now the man everyone is going to London to visit. its such a shame

to my dismay none of his party stalwart as challenged him on this issue of medical tourism, they all want us to pray for him for speedy recovery after he has renege on his promise.

why should the common man on the street trust the healthcare system when the commander in chief himself doesn't have faith in it, he rather prefers London to aso villa clinic with all the billions allocated to it from the budget.

we are living in a time of deceit and anyone who speaks the truth is regarded as an enemy. this one weak me. am ashamed for our leaders

cjrane:
The Fulanis and all Fulani states produce nothing for the federation account, yet they all sorts of lies and gimmicks to collect the lion share of everything contributed by others.

They actually planned with their military juntas to continuously milk the south until such a time when the southern resources run out. Then they will suddenly find an excuse to break away from Nigeria and then begin to mine their own solid minerals to survive when the southern oil would have been long finished.

That is why every southern group must first HALT FURTHER OIL PUMPED OUT OF OUR SOIL AND SEAS UNTIL WE HAVE JUST RESOURCE CONTROL OF TRUE FEDERALISM.

Once you halt the OIL FLOW, they know you understood their game plan and will seriously consider a just country or leave now rather than in the future after sucking the south dry.
how would you get the southerners to halt and stop all oil production, when they can't even sit in the same room to talk to each other, loom at what us happening between the ijaws and the itshekiri of delta state...the polity is deeply polarized. and the youth who hold the future ate divided among ethnic and religious lines. I hope in the nearest future the southerners would try and find away to come together and change things for the good.

because in the real sense and no bias notion attached tell me a northern administration that as actually brought clear development to the nation.

History as subject have been removed from the curriculum.

personally you are right about rechanelling all the energy to positive use...

but trust me... it's a time bomb... not the agitation but the Government...

they are intentionally dividing the country along tribe... The North, The Igbos, The ND, The Yoruba .. Buhari own was worst...

and it is the gas feelin the agitation... Kanu was a Pro One Nigeria by 2002... but perhaps a little research he realized the whole north see them as conquered tribe.

like I said.... it's not too late

We need reconciliation not even restructuring or revolution.
am so glad you stated the ethnic divisibility that our elites use against us, its a time bomb like you said and it could explode anytime soon if we don't thread softly.

without mincing words I stand with KANU to some extent, but the lack of tact and the abrasiveness to which he operates is what makes me disagree with him.

Nigeria is changing and the political demography is changing we are having more politically enlightened people and I hope this are the people that take the power away from the elite

vanbonattel:
Unfortunately, that is the only language the powers in Nigeria hears. If you reason with them, they willignore you till you agitate. Nigeria is a country with zero hope so their agitation is in order.

Which national development when fulani cows are destroying my crops? Does it mean I cannot farm in peace on my lands? You have to talk about the reasons which lead to the agitation.
I believe every tribe in Nigeria is facing the Fulani herdsmen menace, their menace is not restricted to one ethnic group it all ethnic group even the Hausa's some are tired of them.

I just feel in Nigeria we always try to malign ethnicity with development, which can never work...we have this My people syndrome, that tribe is a bad tribe, it is our turn mentality.. if we begin to address and reconcile national issues without any iota of ethnic coloration and religious undertone we would have a positive result in the nation.

maybe when start looking at the issues constructively then we might have hope again in this natiom

Am not Ibo but the bolded is where you are wrong and where Nigeria failed.

There was no Reconciliation after a terrible war (A war where over 3 million minors died of starvation). A war instigated and fought out of ignorance... A war as a matter of fact the north pride themselves as the conquerors over the years and the Ibos accepted the role of the conquered.

Even when this new Biafra Agitation started I was expecting the FG to play the reconciliatory card... but it used force (Same conquerors vs Conquered) that was where the FG lost.

At the late end, after Amnesty International have Indicted FG for Torture and Killing etc
the FG did Biafra 50 years.

Tho Reconciliation between The Biafra and Nigeria is not late... one way is honor all war veteran both Nigeria and Biafra..

With a little empathy... If Nigeria had attacked my tribe and Killed 3 million... am not sure I would let it go.

but a genuine effort to explain what happened, and admit that both parties where wrong... and apologies to the future generations can go a long way to pacify all party.

Else..... In the nearest future the Ibos would terrorise this nation in vendetta.
you have spoke well, FG has failed in making right the wrongs of the past, and I find it despicable that they don't teach about the civil war in schools. indeed our arrogance towards history is why we have little progress in terms of development.

but the Igbo's have to understand that two wrongs can never make a right..to some extent I agree with the agitators of Biafra but looking at the bigger picture who is not marginalized in Nigeria, of course we all are! its the mode at which they come about their agitations is the problem. there seem to be anarchist twist to which they bring about their agitations

I believe the energy the eastern based Igbo's place on their agitations for secession is driven towards national development or better still restructuring we would be having a different discussion by now.
