Sleekfingers:
What makes you so sure that Nigeria is even up to 100 million? A country that don't even their population. That one na country?
Estimates of Nigeria's population is but a guesswork, the actual population of Nigeria may be considerably higher than current estimates. How can you be certain that Nigeria's population doesn't even exceed 250 million already, considering the country's lack of proper birth registration and control measures? Nigeria has not conducted an accurate census, as some remote villages and tribes, including Fulanis in their rugas, have not been accounted for. With such gaps in data collection, it's difficult to confidently assert a specific population figure.

Normal level... This country is a zoo.

Others look at Nigeria as NatGeo-wild... "Kill or be killed"

Animal kingdom na him we dey so.

Edited; just did my research now, and I found out "A zoo is better than Nigeria" , because a zoo is actually peaceful and animals don't kill each other over there... sorry for disrespecting the Zoo

Nigeria should just be addressed as "NatGeo-wild" honestly
Whenever the unknown gunmen kill people in your region, you remain silent. Yet when you hear about deaths in other regions, you're quick to label Nigeria as a zoo. However, the Southeast could be considered worse than a zoo, as even Igbo people are fleeing that chaotic place. Those who dare to return home risk being killed out of envy. The Igbo language is dying, and many Igbos no longer wish to associate with their fellow Igbos. The Igbo people have become synonymous with drug trafficking, counterfeit products, baby factories, and child prostitution.

If all you do is criticize Nigeria without offering any solutions to our problems, know that we can also criticize your erosion-ravaged region with its dying language, even though we don't have solutions to your problems either. You want to insult Nigeria, but Biafra is an insult in itself from every aspect.

PoliticsRe: FG, Engaging EU To Extradite Simon Ekpa by Almunjid: 8:48am On Aug 28, 2024
It's amusing to think about where this unwise person plans to get 40 states from, as the combination of both the southeast and south-south regions would not even amount to 20 states. Unless he intends to turn local government areas into states, he should refrain from including Kogi State in his fictional Biafra Land.

There's a suspicion that this individual is being sponsored to create problems in the Southeast, yet the people there are unaware of this and mistakenly believe he is acting in their best interests. The consequences of these actions will become apparent when it's too late to reverse them. A similar situation occurred with the emergence of Boko Haram; initially, Northerners supported them under the impression that they were Islamic reformers. Little did they know that Boko Haram was actually sponsored to harm the very Northerners who supported them.

Now, the country continues to grapple with Boko Haram, and some members have transformed into bandits and kidnappers. Terrorists often use sensitive issues such as religion, politics, tribalism, regionalism, referendum, separatism etc as justifications for their actions, and the gullible may support them until it's too late to cry.

I love the way you put forth your arguments

Can we bring this before the minister also, if we are to agree to the 18years for admission, can that same age be used for marriage and anyone marrying a girl below the age be prosecuted?

I wan check wetin e go talk
I know what you're driving at. The minister is from the North where child marriage is prevalent. grin Legally speaking, the minimum age for marriage in Nigeria is 18, as set by the constitution. However, this law is often bypassed, just like the minimum age requirement for university admission. "Child marriage" remains a significant issue in the northern region, where many people consider girls between the ages of 14 to 16 as suitable for marriage.

The southern part of Nigeria also faces challenges related to "underage prostitution". In the southeast, in addition to child prostitution, there are instances of "baby factories" where girls as young as 13 to 16 are sexually exploited, and their babies are sold. If authorities were to "prosecute" the perpetrators of these crimes (child marriage and child prostitution), prisons would be filled with offenders from all regions of the country. grin

Many Northerners would rather give their underage girls in marriage than see them engage in child prostitution. The prevalence of early marriage in Northern Nigeria can be attributed to poverty, cultural practices, and religious beliefs, which were once also practiced in the southern part of Nigeria as part of their culture. In the south, poverty is the primary driving factor behind child prostitution. With this in mind, it's difficult to label any particular region as being free from societal issues.

Lol. I'm 100% sure say the girls na from Ndi develolōpers region. Every region for Nigeria get their own wahala. North na early marriage, South-East na early prostitution. If you're to choose lesser evil between early marriage and prostitution which one u go fit manage?

The best thing is to copy the good things and discard the bad ones. So, yes, the poster you quoted is correct. The Chinese also do the same. Has China legalised homosexual marriages? How does allowing children to write WASSCE equate to the Western world dictating to us?
Lol. What did you just call them? Children? In that case, both university campuses with their adult lifestyle and marriage are not suitable for children. You make a valid point when you say we should adopt what is right. However, we cannot allow underage children to enter environments primarily meant for adults. While some of these children may be academically gifted, they might not be ready for the adult lifestyle prevalent on university campuses. Exposing them to such environments could end up corrupting them.

There are only two options: either consider 16-year-olds as adults and allow them admission to universities, or maintain the age limit at 18 and discourage underage children from being admitted into universities.

In many cases, these children are not exceptional; their parents simply rush them through their education. Some of them don't even complete Primary 6 or SS3. Some write the WAEC as early as SS1.
While those with good and retentive memories may find it easy to acquire "knowledge", but the ability to "comprehend" and "apply" that knowledge generally improves with "maturity".

Look at your monkier at leat i know it read Almajiri. you guys are the ones who consider western education a sin so i do not blame you, but please don't drag us backward, you are talking as if those useless leaders have anything upstairs to stare us on the right now. they are dumb that no one truly needs their planning for anything.
Don't be fooled by people's monikers. I'm a master's student in Educational Psychology. The word "Almunjid" (المنجد) is an Arabic term that means:
The man who gives help to people as soon as they are injured - rescuer; saver; helper; aide; reliever; succorer; supporter; assistant; liberator; savior.

Anyway, I agree with you that our leaders do not have the capacity to lead us in the right direction. They lack the intelligence necessary to plan effectively for our future. However, we must remember that these leaders were elected from among the people, which implies that neither the leaders nor the followers currently have the answers to our predicament.

I don't believe in any of our current leaders, such as Atiku, Obi, or Tinubu. Instead, I believe that things will improve when we, the followers, change our own mindsets and attitudes. Once we, the followers, change ourselves, our mentality, and our attitudes, the next generation of leaders will be able to take Nigeria to greater heights. But when will that day come? I don’t know. From the way every Nigerian seems to be looking for ways to exploit their fellow Nigerians, it doesn't appear that we are willing to change. So why are we blaming our leaders for not changing if we ourselves are unwilling to change?

So what stops you from copying the great and ignoring what is not good according to you? Another brain dead nincompoop. You have a leader that suits you.
You may say or believe anything you like, but that doesn't change the fact that Nigeria has proven its ability to lead in certain situations, like tackling Ebola in its own unique way. Isn't it possible for Nigeria to lead rather than always following others in your lifetime?

You mentioned I have a leader that suits me, but not all Nigerians share the belief that politicians are the sole solution to our issues. I didn't vote for Atiku, Obi, or Tinubu. Your rudeness and insults towards those who disagree with you suggests that you're an ardent supporter of Obi. However, your perceived Messiah is no different from other candidates—he's equally corrupt. Why would a reasonable person vote for someone who takes advice from a mad man? It's no wonder that only unhinged supporters like you stand behind him. grin

He even claimed that the proscribed IPOB members are not terrorists, as he lives among them. This also raises concerns about the potential consequences for Nigeria if he were to become president.
