Celebrities / Re: Adokiye Offers Her Virginity To Boko-Haram In Exchange For Kidnapped Girls by alphaomega(m): 6:41pm On Jun 27, 2014
eluquenson: A Nigerian pop singer and peace ambassador has sent shock waves across social media by offering her virginity to Islamic militants in exchange for the return of hundreds of kidknapped schoolgirls.
Adokiye, 23, made the proposal to Boko Haram members to help free the 276 Nigerian girls which they snatched in April from the largely Christian north-eastern town of Chibok.
The singer and actress from the country's Imo State told Nigerian newspaper Vanguard: 'This is 11pm in the night and do you know what I am thinking about?
Those little girls, where they are and what could be happening to them. 'It is just unfair. They are too young. I wish I could offer myself in exchange.'
The UN Ambassador of Peace also added: 'They are between 12 and 15 year old girls for Christ sake. I am older and more experienced. Even if 10 to 12 men have to take me every night, I don’t care. Just release these girls and let them go back to their parents.' Twitter user Singhatul2014 said the offer was 'very touching' and that Adokiye should be given a Nobel Peace Prize, while user Kunleadefioye asked: 'And
what can one make of this Adokiye offer - genuine, gallery play, tacky postering or...'
Meanwhile, Islamists fighting for Boko Haram are leaving their forest hiding places after a number of senior militants died as a result of relentless attacks by snakes and bees, it has been claimed. Two suspected Boko Haram gunmen arrested in Maiduguri in north eastern Nigeria claimed that members of the group have now fled the Sambisa Forest, close to the border with Cameroon, following 'incessant snake bites' and bee stings.
Nigeria's army have been trying to flush the militants out the area for months, but it appears they are now leaving voluntarily in the belief the attacks are the spirits of their victims haunting them.

Family / Re: How Do You Manage The Home In Time Of Scarcity? by alphaomega(m): 5:02am On Sep 18, 2013
sihom: Chilisauce

Cheap is the way I go to adjust to scarcity and hard times, I buy the cheapest products on sale which in some cases means compromising on quality. For instance rather than buy the big pack of omo detergent I do the small satchet packs of N20 so five of that would be N100. What that does is that it frees up more money for me to spread out in covering other expenses.

And like someone said cut out unnecessary expenses, do without the things that are not a necessity and then learn to wait out your problems don't start borrowing money or items left, right and centre to survive you'll only be digging a grave for yourself oooo.

Finally talk things out with God, you know he really is interested in every part of your life, he isn't unaware of your issues and he does know the end from the beginning. Talking to God is good therapy for your soul you may not see or get immediate results but you'll leave his presence 10 times lighter than when you first got there.

i love the final part. The ''Talking things with God'' part. It's the best therapy to scarcity cos in His presence, there is FULLNESS.
Believe me when I say that.

My family just passed through the scarcity phase. As @ yesterday morning, we had only a 2-zeroes figure of cash @home. By evening, we could buy enough 2fill out d house.

How He did it? That's between God n I.

Talk things out wt HIM. He waits 2 listen. That is why He is OLORUN IYANU (a WONDERFUL GOD). El'eti gba'roye (the One who LISTENS ATTENTIVELY).

Abagworo:

Don't believe what you read on Nairaland. There are rich people everywhere in Nigeria and there are as much opportunities. I legally made more than a million Dollars at 25 without having anything to do with Lagos. As we have Young Shall Grow in Lagos, so did we have ABC in Owerri, Ekenedilichukwu in Onitsha, Agofure in Benin, Chidiebere in Aba and so on. Ogbuawa is based in Nnewi and has always based there. I believe Rivers State has much higher middle class in ratio when compared with Lagos.

bro....share ur knowledge with moi. I dont mind to make my own million dollars @30 oooh.. Inbox me some ideas I can use pls.

chaircover: it is unrealistic to expect either of you to wait 6 or 7 years for you to finish your degree. You may get to London and meet someone just as he may meet someone on his street. . . . but as humans we like complicating things; hence he is the one paying for your travel so that in 4 years time when you decide to marry someone else he will start complaining that he sponsored your education but you dumped him. Life isnt hard, its us humans who make it hard.

If it bothers you so much, you can decide to get married before you go but that still doesn't guarantee no cheating

To be honest, unless he decides to come and join you in the next few years It is unlikely that you are both going to be able to sustain a LDR for 7 years.

you shld b a marriage counsellor
