This thread has really been derailed. The mods need to do something to bring sanity back. Imagine having to go back 10 pages just to get meaningful information on TBills
I used to enjoy coming here every day for useful info but now, it's just multiple pages of unnecessary argument.

So I just got my upfront interest from Zenith Bank. What I received was about 7.48% even though CBN quoted rate is 9% for 364 day Tbills. Please is there any explanation for this? Are the banks supposed to issue below the CBN quoted rate?

You need just N5000 to buy mutual funds, yet just 450,000 Nigerians have mutual fund Investments.

From your experience, which bank offers the best services on Tbills?

Please was anybody able to successfully buy tbills today? I went to zenith bank early this week in anticipation of the next auction date but I was told by the officer in charge of tbills that purchase of tbills has been suspended for now. I'm really confused. Is that peculiar to zenith bank alone? I want to know if I'll need to move my money to another bank.

Most times, what Nigerians call "Connection" is what is known as "Networking" in the employment sphere. Globally, it is still the number one way people get hired in most industries and is generally preferred by HR professionals. Getting a qualified candidate for a job is not as easy as it seems hence the reliance on recommendations from already trustworthy individuals.
Networking isn't a bad thing as long as one is qualified for the job, it is nepotism and cronyism that should be frowned upon.

Chinese people are very crafty. See the way they stylishly brought in the supposed doctors while pretending they were coming to help Nigeria fight covid, now they have disappeared into thin air. They were not honest about what those people really came to do in Nigeria.

Just saw this too on channels TV. I guess we'll just have to wait for the next auction date which is sometime next week to see how things play out.

I was at Zenith Bank yesterday to make enquiries and I was told that the new cbn policy does not affect tbills in any way as long as I'm not a debtor or owing money anywhere. I'm waiting for the next auction date which is sometime next week to see if my request for tbills will go through and what the interest rate will be.

Yea I guess they made a mistake. The first msg they sent me was 14th Oct but they sent another message and changed the date to 14th December.

Smh. Just the way some people believe that new born babies can see angels, have the secret to wealth and can see the future. I have a friend who was actually harassing his new born niece to give him a sign if he was gonna be wealthy in the future.

Are you bolaino? What makes you so sure he didn't revert to christainity because of pressure? Even if he reverted because of pressure do you think his pride will allow him to accept that fact here on nairaland?

Bolaino probably went back to christainity because of societal pressure as someone stated earlier or because of some kind of benefit he's getting as a christain.

At the end of the day it all comes down to principles. I have gone through a lot of discomfort because of my atheism, I had some issues when I first became an atheist that I can't disclose here and people that would have helped me out of that problem if I was still a christain refused to help me out claiming that it was god that was punishing me for becoming an atheist. Situations like this is enough reason for some people to go back to christainity.

At some point my elder sister was telling me "is it not better to come back to christainty and get the help you need from these people instead of suffering in your atheism?" and I told her anybody that doesn't want to help me out of a situation because of my atheism can keep their help. I'm a very principled person and I will never be able to live with myself if i pretend to be a christain just for some gain.

I'm very proud of my atheism and I'm very vocal about it. Most times I see the look of disgust on peoples faces when they hear I'm an atheist. My girlfriend and I (we ve been dating for 3 years) are very close to breaking up partly because of my atheism, in fact I'm very sure we'll break up before the end of this month.

This is just my story and I'm sure some atheists may have worse stories to tell. Some people can't handle this kind of pressure so they run back to christainty because its their comfort zone and it makes things less stressful for them but that doesn't mean christainity is right or atheism is wrong it just means they are not principled.
