U.S. Midterm election results so far. The Dems rock!
Congrats to Adeoye Owolewa (Oye) on his re-election to the U.S. House of Representatives. He's the first Nigerian-American to occupy that position from the D.C. area.
Congrats to Esther Agbaje of Minnesota State on her re-election too. The new Georgia State reps... Segun Adeyina, Gabe Okoye and the rest of them have done well.
I can see Nigerian-Americans of mainly Yoruba descent are really running for elective political positions now, just like British-Nigerians of Yoruba descent are doing in the UK. That's the way to go!
Collaborations and Integration with African-Americans for the good of all is key instead of being rather aloof in the communities and political space. Jamaican-Americans, Cuban-Americans, and other Caribbean immigrants have been running for elective positions as well for years now.
'Wale 'Wally' Adeyemo in the 3rd picture below is currently the U.S. Deputy Treasury Secretary, and that's a giant leap for Nigerian-Americans, and the Diaspora.
P.S. 1stGenAmerican, so, you're running in 8 years or less? Except you change your mind, I'll be cheering you on when the time comes babe.
1stGenAmerican: Nice question, friend. I despise this type of criminal more than just about every other. A thief is the lowest of the low and a bread seller is due more respect. Federal prison will not be a cakewalk for him, especially since most of the people he knows are in Nigeria. Who is going to visit him and put money on his books? No one. I don’t think Hushpuppi had as much potential as Obi however he could’ve lived a good life as a hard worker.
Invictus Obi had more potential because he was bright but chose to use his brains to be a thief. Wasted potential.
I see that some believe he’ll still have money when he is released but forensic accounting says otherwise. The amount of restitution ordered will have him living as a pauper for the rest of his days.
Nicely put. When it comes to criminal infractions, I can see you take no prisoners... absolutely none. Lol.
I agree with you that "Hush" could have made it in life as a "hard worker." Information is key. Some folks who pay attention to details have gone on to make legit millions from aquaculture, waste metal recycling, offering coaching classes for students, and seminars, etc. Just generally looking for problems to solve and monetize!
The Obi guy too lived a life of deception because he was one of the "Forbes Africa" under-30 rated guys, but he was into fraud from 2015-2019, when he got that under-30 rating. People got angry (after his arrest), that he lived a fake life, while giving motivational talks to people online and offline. Some of us (including me) were NOT fooled by Obinwanne and Ramon Abass' sudden display of lots of money at such young ages without known pedigrees. These boys were just busy trippin' before they got busted by the FBI.
Heck, we've even had fake "lawyers" and "attorneys" in the U.S., and in other jurisdictions who practiced for some years, before these men and women got busted. Due diligence is a top priority in life.
Thumbs up blood! Give us regular updates on the innovations in your State on NL, and we the Diaspora and Nigeria-based investors want to explore the vast resources under a regulated manner through value addition.
Second, where did you get your Awolowo cap in the second picture? I want to grab up to four of those.
peacefull: Hello! AlphaTaikun san! How are you today? I hope you are good and everything is good too!
I'm very very sorry about always very late reply. I apologies you. I'm sorry.
Wow!! Thank you so much for your kind! I will check about NLP and Adam Khoo, AlphaTaikun san's big gift for me! I really appreciate you!!
I was trying to continue graduate high school. But not from same school. My class teacher at that time tried to do his best for me. He gave me advices, visited to other school which he recommended me to enter, did paper work for me to change school etc. He did everythings for what I need to change school. And I passed exam to entered that school. But many reasons, I couldn't continue and I dropped out again.
In my real life, at least peoples who know me very well and close to me never ever insulting me or looking down me or judge me. And on this website, everybody never did that kind of things to me too including you! I reall really appreciate all of them!! I'm a really happy and lucky person who always have very kind and understanding peoples Thank you so much!
Yes, I was a already single mother before I met my husband. Oh! Yessss! When my kid was a small, anytime when we went to the park, I was playing with my kid like not mother but like same age! Like two kids playing together! I will be 43 years old soon.
AlphaTaikun san's dad visited Japan in 1978 and in 1980s?! That is before I was born in here and when I was a kid! Wow!! Amazing!! When I was a young, one of my dream was visit to many many countries! I love to hear your experience about another countries Next 3 years, you already decided about which countries you will visit?
I really didn't know about that. I just knew about few Japanese news have English language.
Thank you so much! I really really appreciate you and I wish you the same!
@Peacefull, how's it going?
Just checking up on you to say a big hello. Your last post here was very illuminating. Wow! You and my younger sister [my only sister] are exactly the same age.
I did some checks before now on NLP [Neuro-Linguistic programming] and discovered that Japan has a professional association on NLP where folks can go for seminars and trainings. You can even start a career in the field as well.
The other foolish international online fraudster called Obinwanne Okeke [aka Invictus Obi] and his gang of about 70, was busted when the FBI was able to trace some of the things he posted here on Nairaland and nailed him in the U.S. He was sentenced in 2021 to 10 years on charges of computer and wire fraud.
So, as an attorney, what's your final take on the sentencings here? You must be a bit sad that some youths wasted their potential talents on fraud... OR you have a blase attitude towards these criminals?
It is the most popular stablecoin and the largest-cap stablecoin in existence. 68,977,092,527 USDT is currently in circulation. There are certain types of USDT, but the most popular and the most widely used is TRC20, followed by ERC20.
At least, 90% of online trading brokers now accept USDT for deposits and withdrawals, and the adoption rate is projected to increase further. So, you can use it to fund your trading account and trade for profits.
You can use it to pay people or receive payment.
You can use it as a bulwark against crazy fluctuations in the markets. If BTC or ETH or TRX crashes, USDT will not.
Having USDT is like having US Dollar because they have the same value and USDT is pegged to USD.
You can use it as a store of value.
You can convert it to any cryptocurrency offered by your exchange, and you can convert any available cryptocurrency to it. So, if you need any crypto, buy USDT and convert it to that crypto. If you want to withdraw any coins, covert them to USDT and sell for money!
You can trade it versus many other popular currencies, as pairs. You can use any trading styles you want.
You can also trade it versus other popular coins. We have ETHUSDT, BTCUSDT, TRXUSDT, BNBUSDT, ADAUSDT, DOGEUSDT, SOLUSDT, etc.
The uses for Tether – USDT – are so versatile that it is now more popular than Perfect Money, Neteller, Webmoney, Skrill and PayPal (who imposes obnoxious restrictions on people).
And this is just the beginning.
Therefore, open a crypto wallet and buy USDT today.
Firstcitizen: Juveniles will not understand this. A huge number of girls are into this trade. I have heard of even young babes from comfortable homes doing this once in a while just to get social media ego gratification because they have friends flaunting the latest bags, bone straight hair, jewellery and phones in their face.
Hard to see a girl that has not engaged in this presently or in the past in Nigeria due to the cancer of greed raging in the country. He jumps from her and ends up with another more discrete one that will do it in his house, except he has the means to import a foreign GF.
Those calling him names may even be dating coded hookup girls or wifing ex hookup chics. Sad truth in that country.
Newman001: I met her through facebook few months ago, we chatted and the rest is history. I wanted something serious with her and i told her severally because I wasn't too comfortable with the numerous calls she receives from guys.
[b]One day a friend of mine told me that someone he knows collected her number and my so call girlfriend slept over at the guys place after just two days of knowing the guy. I confronted her, she denied initially but later owned up and apologized. I forgave her because I know no one is perfect.
Few days ago i put on auto record on her phone and this night she is at my place sleeping so i open the records and there is this particular conversation where she travel to a near by state to see another guy. Im just confused right now. I have invested so much emotions on this gal and don't know what to do.[/b[
Despite that she is working and the little time she has, she spent it at my place she still got time to be meeting and sleeping with random men for money. I'm thinking of confronting and breaking up with her right now or just codedly place her on the level she deserves and let this slide.
This is how paternity fraud usually starts. With me, this girl has to get gone!
Activate "stop loss" and "take profit" points next time you're on the dating scene.
Bankowner: Oga Africa is blessed, blessed, blessed!
Here in the Western world you see white people working their ass off as well. You see uneducated white people too. There are druggies and the crazy (as in the mad) ones roaming the streets. 50cl Table water is $2.25, equivalent of #1,170 at #520/CAD1.00. You get that for #100 in Nigeria.
FreeStuffsNG: Thank you Abike! We don't take nonsense if they raise their own mannerless sons to call their own mothers and other people's mothers mumu.
Madam Oby Ezekwezili should counsel Dr. Nnamani before suggesting that Abike should let an uncouth Igbo ipob troll and cyberbully go unchallenged
[quote author=Y.ibo post=117668591]Chairman of the Nigerians In Diaspora Commission NIDCOM, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has said she is not a public figure that cows to bullying.
She stated this while replying to former Minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili, who cautioned her for calling a Twitter troll ''Ode'' an abusive word in yoruba language which can mean ''dumb, foolish, stupid,'' and so on.
Ms Dabiri-Erewa had knocked a Twitter troll who referred to her as ''Mumu woman'' which means a foolish or stupid woman.
Ezekwesili spotted Abike's Tweet and felt it was inappropriate. Tweeting at Ms. Dabiri-Erewa, she wrote;
Abike Dabiri hails from Ikorodu in Lagos State, and folks there don't take trash especially from insidious random trolls who try to bully people online. Period.
Ireportlive: Actually Obi supporters started it, they outrightly bullied Okowa on stage claiming he had no right to represent Atiku.
Again the person picked from the audience to ask Obi a question which Dino Melaye raised an Objection that he is a card carry LP member... How exactly did Obi know the man was not an LP member but he had decamped to ANPP
Is something not truly fishy that Obi used his outburst to cover up
Bullahville: They should re-negotiate bumper wages before accepting to resume...Elon Musk is a hardline capitalist...Twitter will soon disappear into space if he doesn't reverse some his policies which only reflects some of his African-blood meanness and not necessarily being business-savvy.
Elon is a Jewish dude whose folks originally migrated to South Africa from Europe, so, where did the African-blood meanness you alluded to come from in terms of genetic ancestry?
Yeah, Elon Musk is a ruthless and eccentric CEO. If you don't do the unusual by exhibiting these traits, you won't get things done easily for the benefit of all. Lol.
I knew from the moment news broke about the Twitter workforce layoffs on Friday last week, that the recall of some critical members of staff would occur... Lol.
jimetagambo: Bye bye oo. He needs to layoff to an extent. He bought a company worth $13 billion for $44Billion, he already had a $31 Billion loss before taking over the company.
Also, Tech layoffs are everywhere:
Opendoor 18% Stripe 14% Chime 12% Twitter 50% Lyft cutting 13% of staff Dapper Labs cutting 22% of staff Stripe cutting 14% of staff Amazon paused hiring for corporate staff META: pause Microsoft: Layoffs Netflix: Layoffs Flipboard: 21% E.t.c.
Business-wise, you have to cut costs in order to increase profits. Twitter has indeed struggled to make profits, so firing the workforce is expected, but critical members of the workforce have to be recalled.
He could also employ advanced AI technologies to replace some human functions in order to reduce overhead cost, and increase profits.
A proper severance package is key for easing out part or all of a company's workforce based on country-specific employment laws.
Phew! Imagine, getting fired while sleeping... Lol. Get a Plan B or C to withstand future shock-waves.
hobyner: The brain responds to the onslaught of dopamine that comes with constant and escalating porn use by reducing its number of dopamine receptors. This blunting of dopamine sensitivity may lead to problems like erectile dysfunction, delayed ejaculation, depression, and social anxiety.
“Rebooting” refers to taking a break from all artificial sexual stimuli so that the brain can restore and replenish dopamine receptors that were lost in response to the overconsumption of pornography.
MansoryMX: Nigerian girls too carry infections! They hardly bath and will wash and wear one pant for 2-3 months and be using phones that cost half a million and wearing on empty head hair that cost quarter of a million.
That was how my guy use his preek cap rub one fine girl VJ to stimulate her before he wear condom and knack only for her to give her horrible infection! He even passed to his own wife unknowingly .
We know you're the guy in the story you just narrated above... Lol.
oladforever: The emergence of certified sustainable palm oil (CSPO) or green palm oil has attracted many multinationals and buyers into the country. Hence, there has been a widespread of advanced level of technical know-how and technological innovations resulting in high productive capability in oil palm plantation and production.
Maynman: Honey gets its sweetness from 2 main simple sugars, Fructose and Glucose.
The composition of honey is Fructose Glucose Reducing Sugars Sucrose.
The composition of our table sugar(Granulated) is: Sucrose. Sucrose is a Disaccharide of fructose and glucose.
The sweetness of honey is dependent on how rich it is in fructose, higher the fructose, more the sweetness.
Eating honey will not make you healthy; it's not a miracle food. It's just slightly better than Table sugar. If you're diabetic, honey won't prevent the same adverse effects that would come from eating sugar.
While you will read all kinds of hype about how much healthier honey is than regular ol' table sugar, most of that info spouted by Internet "health"sites, "10 things you need to know about honey" type click-bait sites, and "alternative" health gurus is just that-HYPE.
Honey has some medicinal properties as an antibacterial and antiseptic when applied to wounds and particular skin conditions, but when taken internally, eaten, honey is fundamentally a sugar syrup.
Honey is about 17% water. The rest is mostly fructose and glucose, followed by varying concentrations of as many as 20 additional sugars and oligosaccharides. There are trace amounts (total of 1% or less) of protein and amino acids, vitamins, minerals, and the organic acids and esters that lend flavor and aroma.
If you wanted to use honey as a vitamin supplement or source of protein, you would have to eat pounds of honey a day to get enough of those ingredients to be in any way beneficial. Pounds of sugar syrup.
ednut1: @justwise you need to do something about these trolls who claim to be anti immigration but sleep and wake on this session lol
How's it going @Ednut? Sukkot has been an NL veteran since 2005 slash 2006 with an older moniker. He's also a British citizen of SW Naija descent, and well-travelled though. So, this isn't a regular trolling session. He's just asking some thought-provoking questions. Lol.
