Oyster Towers at Eko Atlantic City, Victoria Island.

Today, I attended the groundbreaking ceremony of Oyster Towers at Eko Atlantic City, Victoria Island.

This project, being developed by Veritasi and Cooplag, is planned as a high-rise residential tower with apartments designed for both living and investment.

This development reflects the steady growth we are seeing across the state, particularly in Eko Atlantic, which continues to attract strong investment. It also speaks to the confidence in our city and its future, as well as the progress made by developers who are delivering quality projects at scale.

I am always pleased to see development taking shape in the Lekki-Epe corridor. It is another step forward in building a more efficient and modern Lagos that works better for everyone.
That's an impressive piece of real estate for added productivity.

Somebody who didn't identify as a Jew when he was alive can not now be branded as a Jew after death. Jewish identity back then just like now can't be hidden
There was persecution of Jews in the Iberian Peninsula (Muslim Spain) back in the 1400s after the Spanish Military forces successfully pushed the Moors/Muslims who had colonized Spain for a whooping 781 years out of their Spanish homeland as of 1492. Some of the Jews who lived with the Muslims were expelled by the Spanish and some Jewshad to quickly convert to Catholicism and were known as the Maranos. Some Jewish folks in Spain had to hide their identify. Incidentally, it was the same 1492 that Christopher Columbus persuaded the Spanish authorities to let him and some of his men sail in boats to discover America. He finally arrived on the Island of Santo Domingo (Modern Dominican Republic) where they met Native Americans.

The rest is history.

RomanceRe: Leonid Radvinsky Dies At 43 by AlphaTaikun: 8:17pm On Mar 23
fergie001:
The owner of OnlyFans, a site known for its adult content that is credited with revolutionising the online porn industry, has died at the age of 43.

Leonid Radvinsky, who was born in Ukraine and grew up in Chicago, had purchased the company in 2018 from its two UK-based founders, OnlyFans said.

The site's popularity surged during the Covid-19 pandemic, landing him on Forbes' annual list of billionaires just three years later.

He "passed away peacefully after a long battle with cancer," OnlyFans confirmed in a statement, which asked for privacy for his family.

Founded in 2016, OnlyFans is a social media platform where creators can post videos and photos and charge subscribers for tips or a monthly fee.

Creators share a range of content from cooking to fitness videos, but it is best known for pornography and the way it encourages creators and fans to connect through livestreams, personalised messages, and direct requests for custom-made photos and videos.

In return for hosting the material, OnlyFans takes a 20% share of all payments.

The company generated $1.4bn (£1.04bn) in revenue from more than £7bn transactions and had more than 377 million subscribers in 2024, according to its most recent Companies House filing.

About 4.6 million creators were posting to the site that year, it said.

The boom in size and popularity under Radvinsky's ownership also brought scrutiny from lawmakers and regulators over its adult content.

In 2024, British regulators launched an investigation into whether children were accessing porn, an issue that the company at the time blamed on a technical issue.

Ofcom ultimately dropped that probe, but it fined the firm about £1m for failing to respond accurately to its requests for information about the measures it had in place to check the age of its users, who in theory must be 18 or over.

Several years prior, the platform had been accused of failing to deal with illegal content, including child sexual abuse material.

Amid increased pressure and scrutiny over its content, OnlyFans outlined plans in August 2021 to stop allowing sexual material on the platform.

However, it dramatically u-turned on the proposal days later, after the plans were met with intense backlash from users and adult performers.

The company has also been involved in legal fights with users, including some who felt scammed after learning that chats they thought they were having with OnlyFans creators were actually handled by low-paid, third parties. Those cases have not succeeded to date.

Radvinsky graduated with an economics degree from Northwestern University and most recently lived in Florida, according to his website. Forbes estimates his net worth at $4.7bn.

He had been exploring a sale of OnlyFans last year.

As well as OnlyFans, he invested in tech companies via a Florida-based venture capital firm, Leo.com.

His philanthropy included donations to the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, according to his website.

Foreign AffairsRe: Statue Of Christopher Columbus Installed On White House Grounds by AlphaTaikun: 8:15pm On Mar 23
Ironfaceman:
A statue of Christopher Columbus has been erected outside of an ornate federal office building on the White House grounds — the latest sign of the Trump administration’s efforts to reshape cultural and historical representations across the nation’s capital.

The installation of the statue — which is a replica of one toppled in Baltimore during racial justice protests in 2020 — occurred over the weekend outside of the Eisenhower Executive Office Building. It comes as the Trump administration pushes forward with its efforts to bring back statues that were removed in the wake of the protests.

President Donald Trump, in a letter published by the Conference of Presidents of Major Italian American Organizations, praised the group for its “incredible generosity” in bringing the statue to Washington after the original was “torn down by anti-American rioters.”

Many statues of Columbus, an Italian often falsely credited as the first overseas explorer to discover America, were taken down at the height of the demonstrations over George Floyd’s murder in 2020. Columbus has long been a contentious figure in history for his treatment of Indigenous communities and for his role ushering in European colonization in the Americas.

The White House said it’s “proud” to honor Columbus. “As we celebrate our Nation’s 250th anniversary of independence, the White House is proud to honor Christopher Columbus’s legendary life and legacy with a well-deserved statue on the White House grounds,” spokesman Davis Ingle said in a statement to CNN on Monday.

“President Trump has rightly hailed Christopher Columbus as ‘the original American hero, a giant of Western civilization, and one of the most gallant and visionary men to ever walk the face of the earth.’ In this White House, Christopher Columbus is a hero, and President Trump will ensure he’s honored as such for generations to come.”

The 13-foot statue recently installed on the White House campus is a copy of a work that was wrenched down from its pedestal and thrown into Baltimore’s harbor in 2020. While it stands across from the Smithsonian’s Renwick Gallery and near the White House building, it’s not accessible for close public viewing and is blocked off by rows of fences.

The new work contains pieces of the statue that were retrieved from the Baltimore Harbor, according to a release from the Conference of Presidents of Major Italian American Organizations, which worked with the White House to bring the statue to Washington in celebration of Italian American culture and the United States’ 250th anniversary.

“Columbus statues have long stood as symbols of pride and cultural identity for more than 18 million Americans of Italian descent,” the group’s president, Basil Russo, said in a news release. “For over a century, Columbus’s legacy helped Italian immigrants navigate prejudice and hardship, serving as a source of unity and belonging as they built new lives in this country.”

“Christopher Columbus was the original American hero and one of the most gallant and visionary men to ever walk the face of the Earth,” Trump said in his letter, adding Columbus’ voyage in 1492 “carried thousands of years of wisdom, philosophy, reason, and culture across the Atlantic into the Americas.”

The installation builds on Trump’s push to bring back statues that were removed in the wake of the Floyd protests. Across the country, controversial statues — especially Confederate monuments — were removed after the mass demonstrations in 2020.

So far, the Trump administration has reinstalled a statue of Confederate officer Albert Pike in Washington, DC, and announced plans to return a Confederate memorial to Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia.

Now that it's been officially confirmed as of 2025 via DNA tests that Christopher Columbus was indeed born in the Iberian Peninsula as a Sephardic Jew to Sephardic Jewish parents who his their identities, it's NOT surprising that that statue finally made it there.

The more beautiful combo because Kwankwaso is not a Fulani.... or is he?
He's a full-blooded Fula. Rabiu Kwankwaso's late father was infact the Sarkin Fulani of Kwankwaso village in Kano State which is an indigenous Hausa State.

Atiku Abubakar and Nasir El-Rufai are also Fulas. Nasir El-Rufai's male ancestor is a Fula migrant from Guinea (Guinea Conakry) and Baba Ahmed who was Peter's Deputy in the last Presidential election is also a Fula who's biological father is a Fula migrant from the West African Sahelian country of Mauritania.

Former Governor Ganduje of Kano State too is a Fula. The Fulas hold political power but the Hausas are now gearing up to counter the Fula hold of politics in Hausaland.

That is about 40% votes more than the closest candidate to him. While obi trails under 5% votes and ATK hedging in less than 20%. His performance outside Kano wasn't worth mentioning but he did win that state.
40% should be enough to make inec declare a landslide win in a state.

Abia 327k
Abuja 281k
Anambra 584k
Cross River 179k

And Plateau 466k TNB 307k, ATK 243k

He lost in 3 SS States Bayelsa, Rivers, Akwa Ibom. Won in 2 northern states. The only state he won in the SW is Lagos. I don't get your point, but I am assuming we are talking about the same thing that the RK alliance is not a major win for him, and that you do not think RK himself won the state by a landslide. If that be the case, I still think he did because Kano state recorded the highest number of voters in the last election. No other state even came close to casting over 1.5m votes.. being able to win up to 1m out of about 1.6m votes counts like landslide to me.

It was discovered that the mother allegedly uses human urine and faeces in everyday activities, including cooking meals for the household. Bottles filled with urine were said to be stored in the home, used not just for cooking but also as body cream and even for treating drinking water.

Notable local hubs such as Ajegunle Market, Boundary Market, and the local bus terminal support daily commerce, while proximity to Navy Town Market and Ajeromi General Hospital adds to the neighbourhood’s functionality. Traffic congestion remains a key factor shaping residents’ daily experience.

The estate’s organised road network, multiple access points from the Lagos-Badagry Expressway, and connectivity via the Festac Link Bridge supported its appeal to tenants working along the western corridor of Lagos.

"Mushin has grown into a bustling hub of commerce, culture, and urban life since its establishment in 1955."

According to that Nairametrics article right ABOVE, Mushin was established in 1955? The dynamic Chief Jeremiah Obafemi Awolowo, GCFR, SAN, was already the Premier of the Old Western Region of Nigeria as of that 1955 (from the early 1950s).

That's a highly debatable inference from the Nairametrics article writer/analyst and this calls for further scrutiny of the ENTIRE article for major errors and FACT-CHECKS!

Mushin was originally located in the Old Western Region of Nigeria (alongside Ikeja, Ilupeju, Epe, Ikorodu, Ibeju-Lekki, Agege, Isolo, Oshodi, Badagry, Ojo, etc), and Mushin as an ancient settlement has existed prior to 1955 for over 600 years.

P.S.
Mushin was founded over 600 years ago as a settlement, though the Mushin District Council was formally established around 1954–1955. It was previously part of the Ikeja Local Government before becoming its own administrative district.

Foreign AffairsRe: Iran Says Strait Of Hormuz Open To All But Enemy Nations Not Allowed by AlphaTaikun: 9:50pm On Mar 22
alanto:
Iran says Hormuz open to all but ‘enemy-linked’ ships

DUBAI, March 22 (Reuters) - The Strait of Hormuz remains open to all shipping except vessels linked to "Iran's enemies", Iranian media reports ‌published on Sunday quoted Iran's representative to the U.N. maritime agency as saying.

Ali Mousavi's comments came from an interview published on Friday by Chinese news agency Xinhua, before U.S. President Donald Trump's threat to target Iranian power plants if the strait was not "fully open" within 48 hours.

The threat of Iranian attacks during the U.S.-Israeli war on Iran has kept most ships from getting through the narrow strait, the conduit for around a fifth of global oil and liquefied natural gas supplies, threatening a global energy shock.

Mousavi, who is also Iran's ambassador to ‌the UK, was also quoted as saying that Tehran would continue to cooperate with the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) to improve maritime safety and protect seafarers in the Gulf, adding that ships not belonging to "Iran's enemies" could pass the strait by coordinating security and safety arrangements with Tehran.

"Diplomacy remains Iran's priority. However, a complete cessation of aggression as well as mutual trust and confidence are more important," Mousavi said, adding that Israeli and U.S. attacks against Iran were at the "root of the current situation in the Strait of Hormuz".

BlackViper:
ANTHONY JOSHUA is visiting war-torn Ukraine alongside Oleksandr Usyk.

The former heavyweight rivals have headed to capital Kyiv, with Usyk keen to show Joshua around.

The reigning world heavyweight champion, 39, posted a video to X of himself meeting up with AJ.

In the short clip, AJ can be seen approaching Usyk at an airport.

Beaming, the Brit says: “Ukraine! For the first time in my life.”

Wearing a Stone Island jacket and beige baseball cap, Usyk replies: “It’s good. I show you, I show you Kyiv.”

To which Joshua adds: “Let’s go! We go to see Kyiv.”

Usyk accompanied the clip with the message: “Going to Kyiv with @anthonyjoshua.

“Already planning a little tour around the city. Excited to show some of my favorite spots!”

Usyk subsequently posted a picture of himself alongside Joshua in the city, captioning it: “Welcome to Ukraine.”

The pair also enjoyed some live music together, with both clapping along as three women sang and two men played instruments.

Usyk proudly captioned this further clip: “Fully immersed in Ukrainian culture.”

The Cat is back in his homeland for a boxing event put on by his promotion.

He wrote in a further Instagram post: “I’m heading back to Ukraine, and not just like that… Tomorrow is the Rising Stars professional boxing night by @usyk17.promotions.

“Of course, I can’t miss an event like this, even with training in full swing and my preparation for the May fight ramping up.

“This is where new names rise and their big journey begins. It’s going to be loud. It’s going to be electric. And definitely unforgettable!”

The card is set to be headlined by home fighter Daniel Lapin, who takes on Kristaps Bulmeistars.

Lapin, 28, was last in action at Wembley Stadium last summer as he beat Englishman Lewis Edmondson on the undercard of Usyk’s rematch win over Daniel Dubois.

Despite Kyiv remaining a warzone, Lapin gets a homecoming fight this Saturday, with Usyk and Joshua likely to be ringside.

Usyk, meanwhile, will next be in the ring in Egypt on May 23 when he takes on kickboxing great Rico Verhoeven.

Nice to see Anthony Olufemi Olaseni Joshua alongside Oleksandr Usyk looking upbeat right in the Ukrainian warzone.

Foreign AffairsRe: How The British/jews Created The Wahabbi Terrorist Cult by AlphaTaikun: 9:25pm On Mar 22
FSBoperator:
Memoirs of Mr. Hempher, which describe in detail how a British spy to the Middle East, in the middle of the eighteenth century, made contact with Adbul Wahhab, to create a subversive version of Islam, the notorious sect of Wahhabism, which became the founding cult of the Saudi regime. The movement was temporarily suppressed by the Ottoman armies in the middle of the nineteenth century. But with the assistance of the British, the Wahhabis and their Saudi sponsors returned to power and founded their own state in 1932. Since then, the Saudis have collaborated closely with the Americans, to whom they owe their tremendous oil wealth, in funding various Islamic fundamentalist organizations and other American covert operations
That'll make an interesting read.

The Wahhabis are indeed the STRICTEST version of Islam with roots in the Arabian Peninsula.

Trump's War in Iran has sparked global fears about the economy. If the Strait of Hormuz were to remain closed, and Dubai, Saudi Arabia, UAE and the other Gulf states continue to come under attack, global oil prices could surge.

Why has Trump launched this attack on Iran now?

Everything comes back to the US Petrodollar system. Oil is at the root of everything. It's been the basis of our global economy since the Second World War.

But what actually is the Petrodollar system? How does it work? Why was it put in place? What's the future of the Petrodollar?

In this video, we dive into the topic. Keeping the Petrodollar afloat explains all the US foreign policy, and all geopolitics, for more than 70 years. Everything from the first Gulf War, to the War in Iraq, to Russia's invasion of Ukraine, to the current War with Iran.

PoliticsRe: Two Anambra Local Governments Clash Over Renaming Of Road After Anyaoku by AlphaTaikun: 7:42pm On Mar 22
IzunnaOkafor:
By Izunna Okafor, Awka

A disagreement has erupted between Idemili North and Onitsha North Local Government Areas of Anambra State following the decision by the Idemili North authorities to rename the popular Limca Road after former Commonwealth Secretary-General, Chief Emeka Anyaoku, a decision that has been vehemently been rejected by the Onitsha North Local Government which insists that the road lies within its territorial jurisdiction. The development has sparked debate among residents and stakeholders over the legality of the action and the authority responsible for naming public roads within the state.

The controversy began when the Chairman of Idemili North Local Government Area, Hon. Stanley Nkwoka, announced the renaming of Limca Road, a major route linking Nkpor Junction with the area around the Mausoleum of Nigeria’s first President, Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe, at St. Charles Borromeo Roundabout. The road, which also connects Awka Old Road, the Onitsha–Awka–Enugu Expressway and the Obosi–Umuoji axis, was officially renamed “Ichie Emeka Anyaoku Road” during a brief ceremony held at Nkpor Junction.

Speaking at the event, the council chairman said the decision was taken to honour Chief Anyaoku for his outstanding service to the community, the nation and the international community, noting that the renaming was also intended to inspire young people to embrace integrity, hard work and dedication. According to him, society must move away from celebrating individuals of questionable character and instead recognise those whose lives represent discipline, excellence and selfless service.

Also speaking, former Minister of Aviation, Chief Osita Chidoka, praised Anyaoku’s reputation for integrity, stating that his record as Commonwealth Secretary-General remains one of the most respected in Nigeria’s diplomatic history. Represented at the ceremony by Ambassador Chimezie Obi, President-General of Obosi Development Union Worldwide, the elder statesman expressed gratitude for the honour, describing it as one of the most cherished recognitions he has received and urging younger generations to see the gesture as a call to pursue service with honour and credibility.

However, the Onitsha North Local Government Area has strongly faulted the renaming, describing it as illegal, unconstitutional and a clear violation of territorial authority. In an official public notice signed by the Mayor of Onitsha North, Hon. Nweze Tony Nwora, the council maintained that the entire stretch of Limca Road, from the country home of Dr. Azikiwe through Borromeo Hospital up to Nkpor Junction, falls within the jurisdiction of Onitsha North and not Idemili North, insisting that only the legally recognised authority can rename any road within its area.

The council cited provisions of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, particularly the Fourth Schedule, which vests the administration and control of streets and public spaces in the Local Government within whose territory such facilities are located. It further declared that any action taken outside such jurisdiction is ultra vires and therefore null and void, warning ministries, agencies, map publishers, logistics operators and members of the public to disregard the newly announced name until due process is followed.

Onitsha North also stated that it reserves the right to take all lawful steps to defend its territorial authority, stressing that the publication serves as a formal caveat against any official recognition of the new name. The council emphasized that Limca Road, also known as Old Enugu–Onitsha Road, remains its lawful designation unless changed through the proper administrative and legislative procedures.
Science/TechnologyRe: Yann LeCun Advocates For World Models: Interview With Father Of AI (Video) by AlphaTaikun: 1:32pm On Mar 13
WorkTheTalk:

According to LeCun, most modern AI—especially large language models—are excellent at statistical pattern matching in language. They generate convincing responses because they have learned vast correlations in text. However, this does not necessarily mean they possess true understanding of the world.

One key limitation is the lack of grounded knowledge of the physical environment. Humans learn through interaction with the real world—touching objects, observing cause and effect, and developing internal mental models. Current AI systems largely learn from text and images rather than real-world experience, which restricts their ability to reason about physical processes.

Another issue is persistent memory and planning. Many AI models operate mainly within a single prompt-response interaction. They do not maintain long-term internal memories or structured models of reality that allow them to plan complex sequences of actions over time.

To address this gap, LeCun advocates the development of World Models. These systems would learn how the world works—predicting how environments change and how actions lead to consequences.

Such architectures could support more advanced capabilities, including robotics, autonomous vehicles, and adaptive agents that can operate safely in complex environments.

In this vision, the next phase of AI evolution moves beyond language-based intelligence toward systems that preempt, predict, perceive, reason about, and interact with the physical world, bringing artificial intelligence closer to human-like understanding and decision-making.

CrimeRe: Two Nigerians Arrested In Noida India Over ₦12.2 Billion Cyber Fraud (Pictured) by AlphaTaikun: 1:30pm On Mar 13
Honestey:
That Modebe sounds like Yoruba word meaning I have reached there. Irrespective of how it should be pronounced if the guy is not Yoruba I have a message for them both as I adopt the modebe of Yorubas meaning in his name.
Dear Modebe and Okonkwo, you both have finally got there.
This is a highly ridiculous postulation from you! You come off like someone who is trying to deflect the FACTS on the ground with regards to the crime committed in Noida in India.

How does "Mo ti de be" meaning "I have arrived there" in Yoruba language translated into English language suddenly become "Modebe" which is a typical Ibo name from the Eastern part of Nigeria? Different meanings and different pronounciations in the two languages.

A simple Google search or ChatGPT would reveal to you that Modebe is an Ibo name from the South East of Nigeria. Yoruba folks who are indigenous to Nigeria, Benin Republic and Togo DON'T use the name Modebe as a standard first name or surname. Period.
