CrimeRe: IGP Disu Unveils New Security Vehicles, Bikes In Ogun by AlphaTaikun: 7:08pm On Apr 06
InfoViral:
The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, on Saturday took centre stage at the commissioning of landmark projects in Ogun State, reaffirming the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to strengthening national security and deepening collaboration with state authorities.

The high-profile event, attended by top government officials and security stakeholders, highlighted the strategic importance of security in driving development. Disu’s presence underscored ongoing efforts by the Police leadership to align operational priorities with infrastructural growth across the country.

A key highlight of the ceremony was the commissioning of new security vehicles and electric motorbikes aimed at boosting the operational capacity of security agencies in the state. The IGP commended the Ogun State Government for what he described as a proactive and forward-thinking approach to security, noting that the newly deployed assets would significantly enhance rapid response and patrol efficiency.

He stressed that effective policing remains central to maintaining peace and order, assuring residents that the Force would continue to evolve strategies to tackle emerging threats. According to him, the Nigeria Police Force is committed to working closely with both the Federal Government and sub-national authorities to ensure the safety of lives and property.

Disu further called on members of the public to support security agencies by providing timely and credible information, describing community cooperation as vital in combating crime and sustaining a secure environment.

The Police leadership also expressed appreciation to the Ogun State Government and other dignitaries for their continued partnership, noting that such collaboration is essential to advancing security initiatives and fostering national development.

ADC Crisis Rooted In Legal Process, Not External Influence — Lawyers by ogugwa1992: 2:33pm
Two Nigerian lawyers, Inibehe Effiong and Bodunde Opeyemi, have offered detailed legal explanations of the ongoing leadership crisis within the African Democratic Congress (ADC), pointing to procedural decisions and binding court rulings as the root of the dispute.

Their interventions come amid growing public debate over the role of the electoral commission and speculation about possible political interference.

Mr Effiong, a public interest and human rights lawyer, criticised the legal approach taken by the faction led by former Senate President David Mark, describing it as procedurally questionable.

He said the Federal High Court did not issue any restraining order against the leadership, but instead directed that all parties be put on notice — a standard legal step requiring both sides to present their arguments.

According to him, the appropriate response would have been to contest the case at the trial court rather than file an interlocutory appeal.
“It became a motion on notice. They should have filed processes in opposition,” he said, adding that the decision to appeal at that stage was “unusual” and “untidy”.

He warned that pursuing further appeals could complicate the matter further instead of resolving it.

Court ruling shapes situation
Legal practitioner Mr Opeyemi traced the dispute to a leadership contest that followed a party meeting in July 2025, which produced a new executive.

The situation escalated when a party official challenged the process in court, asking the Federal High Court to stop both the new leadership and the electoral body from recognising the outcome. While the court declined to grant an interim order, the case later reached the Court of Appeal.

In March 2026, the appellate court directed all parties to maintain the status quo ante bellum — meaning the situation must remain as it was before the case was filed. Mr Opeyemi said this order is clear and binding.

“It requires a strict preservation of the state of affairs before the dispute,” he explained, adding that no party is allowed to take actions that could influence the outcome of the case.

Why the electoral body acted
The lawyers say this court order explains the position taken by the electoral commission, which has declined to recognise any faction of the party.

According to Mr Opeyemi, the commission is legally bound to comply with the directive and cannot take sides while the case is still before the court.

He said any attempt to recognise a leadership or engage with party activities under dispute could amount to a violation of a valid court order.

Focus on internal legal process
Both lawyers suggest that the situation is the result of internal disagreements and legal strategy within the party.
Their analysis indicates that the current impasse is being shaped by court processes rather than actions from outside the party.

The dispute is expected to remain unresolved until the Federal High Court delivers a final judgment on the substantive case.

PoliticsRe: Tinubu Approves Two New Satellites As Nigeria Pushes Deeper Into Space Economy by AlphaTaikun: 10:16pm On Apr 03
Pakute:
• NIGCOMSAT is expanding Nigeria’s space capabilities through new satellites, startup support, and nationwide connectivity initiatives.

President Bola Tinubu has approved two additional communication satellites, NIGCOMSAT 2A and 2B, for Nigeria’s space programme, the Managing Director of Nigerian Communications Satellite Limited (NIGCOMSAT), Jane Nkechi Egerton-Idehen, announced on Monday.

She disclosed this during her welcoming address at the opening of the 2026 Nigerian Satellite Week in Abuja, themed “Harnessing Space Technology for an Extraordinary Nigeria.”

“This approval by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a clear demonstration of Nigeria’s recognition of space as a driver of national development and sovereignty,” Mrs Egerton-Idehen said.

Reflecting on the agency’s journey, Mrs Egerton-Idehen said NIGCOMSAT has grown from a single-satellite operator into a multi-service provider offering broadband, broadcasting, and connectivity services across Nigeria and parts of Africa.

“Twenty years ago, Nigeria declared its readiness to participate and shape one of the most consequential industries of this century. That declaration was not abstract; it was a commitment to build capacity, institutions, and credibility in the global space economy,” she said.

The MD also spoke about NIGCOMSAT’s strengthened global and regional presence, adding that the agency recently secured a Low Earth Orbit connectivity partnership with Eutelsat and initiated cooperation with the Kenya Space Agency.

It now holds the Vice Chairmanship of the Global Satellite Operators Association, giving Nigeria influence in international satellite policy and spectrum governance.

Mrs Egerton-Idehen highlighted initiatives aimed at nurturing the next generation of space-focused companies.

She said the NIGCOMSAT Accelerator Programme, launched this year, will become a permanent feature to support startups working in satellite applications and digital connectivity.

Complementing the accelerator programme is Project 774, designed to extend satellite-enabled connectivity to all local government areas across Nigeria, supporting healthcare, education, and economic activity in underserved communities.

“Today, the work of building Nigeria’s space future is being done here, by the institutions, innovators, investors, policymakers, and stakeholders gathered in this room,” Mrs Egerton-Idehen noted.

Kennedy Osemwegie, representing the Chief of Army Staff, said satellites now support intelligence gathering, surveillance, communications, and disaster response.

He added that collaboration between the military, government agencies, and private sector actors has enhanced Nigeria’s capacity for satellite-enabled operations, which are critical for addressing terrorism, insurgency, and cross-border crimes.

On his part, the Executive Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Aminu Maida, emphasised the role of satellites in expanding Nigeria’s digital infrastructure.

Satellite technology, he said, is central to improving connectivity, service quality, and access across sectors, including education, healthcare, and emergency response.

He stressed the need for collaboration between the government, the private sector, and innovators to develop practical solutions that strengthen Nigeria’s space and digital ecosystem.

Speaking on the first day’s theme, “The Space Race: The Convergence of Technology, Government, and Opportunities,” the Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Bosun Tijjani, reaffirmed the government’s commitment to expanding satellite infrastructure and praised President Tinubu’s approval of the new satellites.

“When a community gains the opportunity to connect, it transforms how businesses operate and how people live. Satellite technology allows us to extend connectivity to places where other infrastructure cannot reach. It also provides resilience, innovation, and strengthens our digital economy,” the minister said.

He added that fostering innovation through research, partnerships, and startup engagement is essential to developing solutions for agriculture, education, commerce, and security.

Mr Tijjani emphasised that Nigeria’s space leadership carries a continental responsibility.

“Nigeria’s leadership in satellite technology is not just for Nigeria. It is for Africa. We must build talent that understands both the technology and its applications. We must create room for businesses to grow in this space. And we must collaborate more across the continent,” he added.

The event brought together policymakers, government agencies, technology innovators, investors, academics, and other experts, providing a platform for dialogue, partnerships, and practical solutions to advance Nigeria’s space and digital economy

ManirBK:
Trump Claims Iran War Will Be Over In 'Two Weeks', Says Oil Prices To Crash Afterwards

President Donald Trump has said that the United States could bring down global oil prices by disengaging from Iran, suggesting his administration would soon withdraw from the country.

Speaking in response to a question by journalists in White House on how his leadership would address rising oil prices, Trump argued that a US exit from Iran would have an immediate impact on the market.

"All we have to do is to leave Iran and we would be doing that very soon and they will become tumbling down."

He also linked his position to broader security concerns, referencing tensions over Iran’s nuclear ambitions and justifying past military actions.

"Stock prices were up almost a record, I said to the American people it's time we make a detour because we have a mad man who wants nuclear weapon. If we did not knock him out with a B2-bomber, we would have had a nuclear weapon that would have been used before this, before today."

Trump suggested that failure to act decisively could have led to catastrophic consequences, insisting that his approach prevented a potential nuclear threat.

"You would not be standing there asking that question. I would say that within two or three weeks we will leave."

His remarks come amid heightened geopolitical tensions involving Iran and ongoing debates over US foreign policy in the Middle-East, particularly around military involvement and its effect on global energy markets.

On Monday, Trump openly threatened to seize Iran’s oil resources, declaring that taking control of the country’s crude exports is his preferred course of action.

Speaking in an interview with the Financial Times, Trump said Sunday that he would like to "take the oil in Iran" and is considering targeting the strategic export hub of Kharg Island, which is responsible for more than 90% of Iran's oil exports.

In some of his most direct remarks on the issue, Trump said his "preference would be to take the oil."

"To be honest with you, my favorite thing is to take the oil in Iran but some stupid people back in the U.S. say: ‘Why are you doing that?’ But they’re stupid people," he said.

Lagos 2027: Gbajabiamila, Muri-Okunola, Alausa Out Of Governorship Race

…APC Ticket To Be Hotly Contested By Ambode, Hamzat, Others

…Ayinde May Be Considered For Lagos West Senatorial Seat

In a significant turn of events, three prominent aspirants and appointees of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu are out of the race to succeed Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu in 2027.

They are: Femi Gbajabiamila, Chief of Staff to the President; Hakeem Muri-Okunola, Principal Private Secretary to the President; and Dr Tunji Alausa, Minister of Education.

These three failed to meet the March 31, 2026, deadline set by President Tinubu for his appointees interested in contesting elective positions in 2027 to resign.

With this development, the governorship ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) will now be hotly contested by former Governor Akinwunmi Ambode and current Deputy Governor Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, both from Epe.

Other aspirants include a former Governorship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Dr Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran; Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Mudashiru Obasa; Senator representing Lagos East, Tokunbo Abiru; a member of the House of Representatives representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency, Mr Babjimi Benson; and leader of the SMA Gold Movement, Dr. Samuel Mawuyon Ajose.

Last week, it emerged that Hamzat had been endorsed by President Tinubu and some members of the Governance Advisory Council (GAC) to succeed Sanwo-Olu, at a meeting by southwest APC leaders with the President during the Eid holiday.

However, some other sources who were privy to the discussions at the meeting dismissed the reported endorsement as misleading.

According to sources. Ambode’s candidacy enjoys overwhelming public support, with various stakeholders within the party advising against dismissing the prevailing public sentiment.

Additionally, it was gathered that the Chief of Staff to Lagos State Governor, Mr Tayo Akinmade Ayinde (Buffalo) is a strong contender for the APC Lagos West Senatorial ticket, while Obasa may continue as Speaker. If that happens, he will become one of the longest-serving Speakers of state assemblies in Nigeria.

As the situation unfolds within the ruling party in the state, all eyes will be on the developments ahead.
Obafemi Hamzat isn't from Epe.

His biological father was coronated as an Oba in Ogun State and he was also the Commissioner of Works who oversaw the then discontinued Lagos Metroline Project back in the early 1980s Government of Alhaji Abdullateef Jakande. Fact checks are very important for historical purposes.

Obafemi Hamzat's biological mother is from Ikorodu so how did he become an indigene of Epe? Akinwunmi Ambode too is original of a Royal Family ancestry from Ilajeland and this is why when his academic biological father (who was posted to Epe by Western Nigeria Government during the government of Chief Jeremiah Obafemi Awolowo GCFR SAN in the 1950s) passed on, he was buried in Ilajeland in Ondo State NOT in Epe according to the royal custom of the Ilaje-Yorubas.

Akinwunmi Ambode was however born in Epe and that's how he came to represent Epe when he was the Governor of Lagos State.
PoliticsRe: Senate Approves President Tinubu’s $6 Bilion Loan Request by AlphaTaikun: 9:31pm On Apr 03
Kingzjayzee:
The Senate has approved President Bola Tinubu’s fresh request for a $6 billion external loan to support key national priorities.

The approval came on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, after the Senate considered a report presented by Senator Aliyu Wamakko, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Local and Foreign Debts.

The request was contained in two separate letters from the President, read during plenary.

According to Mr Tinubu, out of the $6 billion, the lion’s share of $5 billion is a structured Total Return Swap (TRS) external financing programme offered by the First Abu Dhabi Bank, to be released in tranches.

The remaining $1 billion is an export finance facility from the United Kingdom, arranged by Citibank, specifically for the reconstruction and rehabilitation of the Lagos Port Complex and Tin Can Island Port.

The facilities are intended to support the implementation of the national budget, funding priority infrastructure projects, and refinancing existing domestic and external debts.

The President also said the loan will help the country to meet urgent financial obligations, noting that the phased drawdown of the borrowing will help ease pressure on debt servicing.

The Senate also approved the issuance of Naira-denominated federal government securities as collateral and the payment of margin obligations in US Dollars.

Earlier, it was reported that President Tinubu sought the red chamber’s approval for a significant upward review of the 2026 budget, proposing an additional N9 trillion to the Appropriation Bill.

The request, conveyed in a letter read on the Senate floor during Tuesday’s plenary by the Senate President, Mr Godswill Akpabio, would increase the budget size from the initial N58.47 trillion to N67.47 trillion.

According to the President, the proposed adjustment is aimed at strengthening fiscal transparency and ensuring more effective implementation of priority national programmes.

The development raises fresh worries about Nigeria’s debt portfolio, which has risen considerably within the three years of the Tinubu-led administration.

It's Desmond's wife (who he met at the University of Jos where he also schooled) that is from Cross River State. Illah is an Ibo-speaking community but the name of the town is of Igala origin. There are historically Igala migrants who make up the indigenes of Illah today going back to 400 years ago due to wars especially with the Benin Kingdom army and more.

However, you are absolutely correct that Desmond's late biological father who was an academic at University of Jos is from the Olowogbowo area of Lagos Island.

I appreciate your schooling of that creep.

Desmond Olusola Elliott's family is originally from Olowogbowo on Lagos Island. His biological mother hails from Illah (the iconic NTA veteran Frank Olize is from Illah as well) of in the Oshimili area of Delta North in Delta State.

A lot of people don't know that a significant number of Lagos Island indigenes were relocated from their family houses (due to the construction of the Outer Marina) and resettled in the newly developed areas of Surulere back in the early 1970s. This is the reason why a lot of Lagos Island indigenes have family houses in Surulere, Lagos.

Desmond is a Lagos State indigene from Olowogbo, Lagos Island although the Elliot's original paternal family roots is definitely from one of the Yoruba hinterlands of Egba, Ijesa, Oyo, Yewa, etc, BUT due to trans-Atlantic enslavements of many Yoruba families due to series of wars especially in the 1800s and they found themselves in Sierra Leone, Brazil, Cuba, United States, Trinidad and Tobago, Liberia. Many of them returned to Yorubaland after gaining their freedom with many Yoruba returnees from Sierra Leone settling down in Olowogbowo on Lagos Island back in the 1800s.

Those Yoruba returnees from Bahia in Brazil and Cuba settled in Campos Square, while some returnees bravely went to their ancestral homelands of Egba and Ijesaland to settle there. The famous Vaughan and Haastrop families for instance migrated after the slave trade ended from the United States and Sierra Leone went to Abeokuta and Ijesaland their original paternal homelands.

The wealthy Vaughan family however relocated from Abeokuta to Ebute-Metta after the Egba Chief in Abeokuta expelled all the Christians on the strong suspicion of supporting British Colonial interests against them.

I've written the historical specifics ABOVE so that readers who have no idea can easily deduce how Desmond Olusola Elliott's family and other returnee Yorubas who have English, Portuguese, Spanish, and German surnames became naturalised indigenes of Lagos Island even though many are originally NOT paternally from there like the indigenous Awori-Yoruba land owners (the Ekos) BUT from the Yoruba interior.

Representation is not a career, it is a commitment to look after the interests of those being represented. If the people say they do not want Desmond, let the party find someone the people accept and field him. Enough of rewarding docile representatives.

The Bureau 1440, a 🇷🇺 Russian private aerospace company, announced on Tuesday the launch of its first 16 Rassvet low-orbit satellites, which are perceived to be a response to the U.S' Starlink.

The spacecraft successfully placed satellites into a reference orbit on Monday and will continue to their target orbit after completing checkout and launching their onboard systems, the Bureau 1440 said in a statement published on Telegram.

"The launch of the first satellites in the target constellation marks the transition from experiments to the creation of a communications service,” the statement said, adding that the team completed the journey in 1,000 days.

The next stage is the deployment of “dozens of launches and hundreds of satellites” in Russia's low-orbit constellation for global communications service, it added.

Rassvet satellites are intended to provide internet access anywhere on Earth, the company said on its official website. There are currently six Bureau 1440 satellites in orbit, launched as part of two experimental missions.

According to the company's plans, the commercial service is scheduled to launch in 2027, by which time it plans to have more than 250 satellites in orbit. By 2035, the constellation could reach 900 satellites, state Rossiyskaya Gazeta reported.

"We will respond to Starlink with the Rassvet project [from] Bureau 1440. We will also have low-orbit broadband communications," said Roscosmos CEO Dmitry Bakanov in May of last year.

TravelRe: UK or Canada? The Hard Truths Nigerians Are Not Shown by AlphaTaikun: 8:11pm On Apr 03
uche87:
There is an ongoing debate about which country is better to emigrate to, Canada or the United Kingdom. What makes this conversation both interesting and ironic is that it is largely driven by Nigerians who are immigrants, not by locals in these countries.

Some Nigerians arrive in the United Kingdom full of expectations, only to realise that money does not grow on trees. Soon after, they begin to consider relocating again, this time to Canada, often influenced by concerns around visa uncertainty and long settlement routes in the UK.
In some cases, people move from the UK to Canada and then back to the UK again. This constant back-and-forth is not just exhausting; it is expensive and mentally draining. Starting over in a new country is not a small decision. It requires emotional stability, financial strength, and time.

From a distance, life in the West appears almost perfect. Clean streets, beautiful buildings, organised systems, and a lifestyle that looks effortless. Social media reinforces this illusion. With good lighting, decent clothes, and a smartphone, anyone can curate a version of success that attracts admiration. What is rarely shown is the pressure behind the scenes, the long hours, the uncertainty, and the quiet struggles.
The reality for many immigrants is far less glamorous. A significant number of Nigerians in the UK find themselves in blue-collar roles. At first, it feels like progress. There is income, independence, and a sense of movement. But over time, the limitations become clearer. The work can be physically demanding, upward mobility is not always straightforward, and the journey to permanent residency can feel slow and uncertain.

Canada, on the other hand, is often seen as offering a clearer pathway through programmes like Express Entry, along with better prospects for white-collar employment. This perception drives many to make the switch. However, the reality is more complex. Canada has its own structural challenges. Job markets can be tight, and it is not uncommon for newcomers to spend months searching for work while facing a high cost of living. For many, this creates a different kind of pressure.

The truth is that no system is designed to be easy for outsiders. Every country prioritises its own stability first. What we are witnessing is not just a UK versus Canada debate, but a broader global reality. Opportunities are shrinking, competition is increasing, and economic systems are becoming less forgiving.

Relocating today requires more than ambition. It demands patience, humility, and resilience. These are not just nice qualities; they are survival tools. Without them, the adjustment period can feel overwhelming. Even with high-level skills in fields like technology, medicine, or engineering, there are no guarantees. The global job market is shifting, and even previously secure industries are evolving rapidly.

This is why I often encourage people back home to look inward as much as they look outward. Building something where you are may not be glamorous, but it can be powerful. Recently, I have spent time following young Nigerians involved in agriculture and animal husbandry. What they are doing may not trend globally, but it is sustainable, impactful, and deeply valuable. They are creating wealth, not just chasing it.
There is dignity in building, in staying, in growing something from the ground up. Movement, on its own, is not progress. Relocating repeatedly in search of a perfect system can become a cycle rather than a solution.

There is no perfect country. There is no guaranteed soft landing. Every path comes with trade offs. So before choosing sides in the UK Canada debate, it is worth asking a more honest question. Are you chasing opportunity, or are you chasing perception?
Because in the end, the difference matters.

Filmmakers seeking to use military equipment (ships, aircraft) or film on military bases must submit scripts for approval and agree to have the Department of Defense oversee depictions and the aim is to boost public image, aid recruitment, and secure a favourable narrative of the US military. The storyline must not criticise the US military or you're not shooting any film. So that means most Hollywood movies we've seen, portraying US military are facade. Movie scripts are either changed or rewritten to boost their image.

More than 2,500 films and TV shows have been assisted by the US Department of Defense to portray the US Military in good light, including Top Gun, Iron Man, Black Hawk Down, Transformers, and Captain Marvel.
That's the real definition of global "Soft power." However, that strategy certainly can't last for ever if it's based on pure historical deceit.

Foreign AffairsRe: Over 3,500 US Troops Arrive In Middle East As Iran War Intensifies by AlphaTaikun: 9:12pm On Mar 29

*Millions rally against Trump’s policies

Sunday Ehigiator

Over 3,500 United States’ troops, including the USS Tripoli with about 2,500 Marines arrived in the Middle East, officials announced yesterday, as strikes in the Iran war intensified.
This came as millions of protesters flooded streets across the US, in what organisers said could become the largest single-day demonstration in the country’s history, as the ‘No Kings’ movement staged coordinated rallies against President Donald Trump and his administration’s policies.

The US Central Command said in a social media post that the USS Tripoli, which serves as the flagship for the Tripoli Amphibious Ready Group/ 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, arrived in its area of responsibility.

It’s the most updated of the amphibious warships, known as a “big deck,” which allows more room for F-35 Stealth Fighter Jets, Ospreys and other aircraft.

The ship had previously been based in Japan when the order to deploy to the Middle East came almost two weeks ago.

Central Command said that in addition to the Marines, Tripoli also brings transport and strike fighter aircraft, as well as amphibious assault assets to the region. The USS Boxer and two other ships, along with another Marine Expeditionary Unit, have also been ordered to the region from San Diego.

More than 11,000 targets have been struck since Operation Epic Fury began on February 28, CENTCOM said yesterday in a fact sheet.
US Secretary of State, Marco Rubio said Friday the United States can meet its objectives “without any ground troops.”

But he also said President Trump “has to be prepared for multiple contingencies” and that American forces are available “to give the president maximum optionality and maximum opportunity to adjust to contingencies should they emerge.”

The arrival of the U.S. troops in the region comes after at least 10 US troops, including two who were seriously wounded when Iran fired six ballistic missiles and 29 drones at Saudi Arabia’s Prince Sultan air base.

The war, which continues to intensify despite reports of Trump pushing for a deal, has upended global air travel, disrupted oil exports and caused fuel prices to soar. Iran’s stranglehold on the Strait of Hormuz, a strategic waterway, has exacerbated the economic fallout.

Iranian-backed Houthi rebels said yesterday they entered the month-old war by claiming a missile launch that Israel said it intercepted.
Meanwhile, millions of protesters flooded streets across the US, in what organisers said could become the largest single-day demonstration in the country’s history, as the ‘No Kings’ movement staged coordinated rallies against President Donald Trump and his administration’s policies.

More than 3,000 protests were planned nationwide, spanning all 50 states, with additional demonstrations held in cities across Europe, Asia and Australia, underscoring the growing global resonance of the movement.

The protests, dubbed ‘No Kings Day’, marked the third major mobilisation since 2025 and have expanded significantly in size and scope.

Organisers said participation could reach millions, building on earlier rallies that already drew record-breaking crowds.

From New York to Los Angeles and Washington, D.C., demonstrators marched with placards condemning what they described as authoritarian tendencies, economic hardship and controversial foreign and domestic policies under Trump’s administration.

At the heart of the protests were grievances over immigration crackdowns, rising living costs and a controversial US military campaign in Iran, now in its fourth week.

Protesters also voiced concerns about civil liberties, abortion restrictions and executive overreach.

A flagship rally in Minnesota, considered the epicentre of this year’s demonstrations, drew tens of thousands, with prominent public figures and activists joining performances and speeches.

The ‘No Kings’ protests originated in 2025 as a response to what critics viewed as increasingly authoritarian governance.

In Washington, D.C., demonstrators marched past symbolic landmarks, while in smaller towns and traditionally conservative regions, turnout surged, reflecting what organisers described as a “broad-based national movement.”

International solidarity protests were also reported in cities such as Paris, Rome and Tokyo, highlighting global concern over US political developments and foreign policy decisions.

Despite the scale of the demonstrations, the White House dismissed the protests, with officials characterising them as politically motivated and driven by opposition groups.

Foreign AffairsRe: New Photos Show Precision Strike That Wiped Out U.S. E-3 AWACS Aircraft In Saudi by AlphaTaikun: 9:08pm On Mar 29
TruthU87:
Pictures show the total loss of 81-0005, an E-3G “Sentry” Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) Aircraft with the U.S. Air Force’s 552nd Air Control Wing based out of Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma, following yesterday’s Iranian ballistic missile and drone attack on Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia. The strike appears to have purposefully targeted the most important part of the E-3, that being rear of the aircraft which holds its rotating radar dome, containing several sensitive instruments including antennas for the E-3’s AN/APY-2 Surveillance Radar System.

The post features a viral video of a Nigerian man in London directing chaotic traffic involving luxury cars like a Ferrari Purosangue and Bentley, using humorous, firm commands to de-escalate a near-road rage incident and clear the road.

Viewers in replies praise his skills as honed from Nigerian urban chaos, particularly Lagos, joking he must have prior experience with informal traffic control like LASTMA officers.
