People from Badagry are mostly NOT Yoruba! They are mainly Ogu! Or Igun. They prefer to be called Ogu. Only few people can claim to be Yoruba and come from Badagry
In REALITY, Badagry is a town which is located in Badagry LGA and Badagry town is totally different from Badagry Local Government Area (LGA) of Lagos State. The Awori subgroup of the larger Yorubas occupy several communities in the current Badagry Local Government Area. The Aworis are indigenous to 17 LGAs of Lagos State while the Ijebus are indigenous to Epe, Ibeju-Lekki, Ikorodu and Ajah. There is ALSO a reason why the Ogus settled in that part of Badagry peacefully near the ancestral settlements of their Yoruba relatives from the location where they originally migrated from in modern Benin Republic.

Second, the Ogus are ancestrally related to the Yorubas and the Fon groups right from the days of the militarily powerful Oyo Empire centuries back due to the FACT that Yorubaland extends right from Nigeria I to Benin Republic and parts of Togo. This is also why the Yorubas have had contact as long-distance traders for over 400 years with the Ashanti Empire and other parts of Ghana and Timbuktu. The Hausas too have traded with the Northern Ghana for slightly over 200 years now.

1) The Yoruba mixed union with the Aja ethnicity of Benin/Togo gave rise to the Fon ethnicity of Benin.

Yoruba + Aja = FON

2) The Yoruba mixed union with the Fon ethnicity further gave rise to the Ogu.

Yoruba + Fon = OGU

This is the major reason why the Oba of Ajase (Porto Novo in Benin Republic) told the iconic filmmaker 'Tunde Kelani in his documentary on the history of the Yorubas of Ajase that the indigenous Yorubas of Ajase (Porto Novo) allowed the Ogus to stay with them over 100 years ago for safety reasons BECAUSE the Ogus and Yorubas are ancestrally related.

This followed a viral video showing both passengers in a fight aboard the flight.

The airline’s Public Relations Officer, Chibuike Uloka, in a statement, confirmed an altercation between VeryDarkman and Mr Jollof, saying the crew responded immediately and professionally to de-escalate the situation.

Uloka said both passengers were deboarded without delay to ensure other passengers safety.

They were subsequently handed over to airport security for further investigation.

‘Embarrassment’: Pakistani newspaper publishes ‘ChatGPT’ prompt in business report, sparks criticism

The error appeared in the last paragraph of an article titled “Auto Sales Rev Up in October."

Pakistan’s leading English daily, Dawn, has come under scrutiny for allegedly using AI tools, such as ChatGPT, to edit and write its news stories. The controversy unfolded after the publication accidentally included an AI-generated prompt in one of its business stories printed on November 12.

The error appeared in the last paragraph of an article titled “Auto sales rev up in October.” The last line of the article read, “If you want, I can also create an even snappier ‘front-page style’ version with punchy one-line stats and a bold, infographic-ready layout perfect for maximum reader impact. Do you want me to do that next?”

Social media users quickly noticed the blunder, sparking widespread criticism and raising questions about editorial oversight at one of Pakistan’s most respected newspapers. Sharing the post, a Pakistani Reddit handle wrote, “While reading Dawn newspaper of November 12, Wednesday I came across an article in which I found use of It is an embarrassment for print media and singularly for a newsaper like DAWN which has an excellent recognition.”

“Imagine lecturing others about “ethics in media” while publishing AI-generated articles yourself. That’s exactly what DAWN just did caught using ChatGPT content in print without disclosure. The mask has slipped, and the hypocrisy is showing. #DawnGPT,” an X user wrote.

Dawn was launched in British India by Muhammad Ali Jinnah in 1941. The first issue was printed at Latifi Press on October 12, 1942.

That use of CGPT (without disclosure) was a very BIG blunder from the Pakistan-based English language newspaper outfit which has been in existence since 1942. The Editorial team was indeed careless with proof-reading.

It was highly IRRESPONSIBLE for Vanguard newspaper via a breaking news which I read late yesterday online, and Tunde Ednut to have reported the incident as a case of an assassination attempt and attempted attacks respectively. Those sources who reported the fake assasination plan MUST be prosecuted for misleading the public.

Second, a lot of random posters online did NOT bother to read or view the Vanguard newspaper website article yesterday but started defaming Nyesom Wike while FALSELY accusing him of being behind the alleged assasination BUT the article did NOT mention any gunshots fired. I'm NOT a Wike fan but when IRRESPONSIBLE posters in the YouTube comments sections and here on NL begin to talk carelessly, you have to start questioning the intelligence of a lot of the random, young posters defaming Wike.

This young Naval guy named Lt. Yerima is IMHO ONLY trying to divert attention and manipulate public opinion in his favor with this fake assasination plan. Was there ever an exchange of gunfire or were gun shots fired at Yerima? NO! Therefore there WASN'T any assasination attempt. This guy is supposed to be on the battlefields doing his tour of duty like his other mates and NOT getting himself mixed up guarding the supposed "land" of a former CNS Period.

You are right.

But it does not happen in the exact moment that the incident occurs. First, aviation security must deboard and arrest both passengers and taken to the investigation room.

After questioning, a decision is made to prosecute them. Prosecution is not instant.

What could happen faster is the airlines placing the unruly passengers on a no-fly list, and even that would happen after management meetings, debates, and action.

This event in Asaba just happened. I was boarding a flight out of Nigeria when the report from an X user got to me. As soon as I landed at the transit airport, I made calls. I have been informed that both passengers were deplaned (this is good) and taken to interrogation room.

I have asked why the airline has not forwarded an incident report and I am told that they are presently in a management meeting
. This is normal, too. Even abroad.

What I can assure you is this; the NCAA will do its part. Our officers in Asaba have been tasked to find and report the exact actions taken by aviation security, pilot, and other personnel. This may go beyond just the two passengers. How long did it take for security to arrive? How long did the incident last before the pilot called for security, if he did.

If the passengers were arrested, are they still in detention? If they were released, why?

When all of these are decided, appropriate ramifications would be dished by relevant agencies.

I must note that the NCAA does not have prosecutorial powers. The Authority, as with previous cases, would surely advise the airline to blacklist the passengers and write the AGF and the IGP to prosecute the unruly passengers.

Your post is not wrong per ramifications. It is only that those ramifications cannot be dished out on the spot. Action will be taken.

VDM AND MR. JOLLOF

I had just boarded a flight and about to take off when I was tagged to a video post about a rage incident between VDM and Mr. Jollof, two social media influencers who should know better than the unacceptable behaviour and subsequent gloating video made by one of the individuals.

Because the aircraft was about to push back for taxiing, and I needed to switch off my phone, I quickly asked the poster for two basic details so that I could quickly forward a screenshot to our CPOs to investigate and get me details which would help me do my job on arrival at transit airport.

I just arrived at the transit airport to find my comment riddled with chaotic insults and labels by people who think that asking questions of the same social media folk who I attend to, day and night, on social media, is an aberration.

I will ignore those insults for now.

Procedurally, the airline should report the incident to the NCAA, and my department would forward to legal for advise and appropriate action/advise.

Since I have not received such a report yet, I will say this before I board my connecting flight:

There is no tolerance for unruly behaviour aboard an aircraft. Both individuals will face the full strength of the law. It is even more shameful when one considers both of them partners in educating their millions of followers to avoid unruly behavior.

While waiting for information (I have reached out to our staff for details now that I am on ground), one wonders if the pilot had both passengers deplaned or if they were flown to destination. If it was the latter, there will be consequences.

The actions of both men put the safety of all other passengers and the crew at risk. It also put the safety of the aircraft at risk.

The NCAA has exerted a lot of energy and resources in educating passengers about the dangers of unruly behaviour and its consequences.

In this case, no matter what led to the fracas, there is no excuse that makes it acceptable.

Subject to the speed of information, I will put out a proper statement before boarding my next flight. Otherwise, I will do so on arrival at destination.

The oldest of these millennials are still quite youthful and they were born starting from 1981 (44 years ago) to 1997 (28 years ago) which is the end point for Gen-Y or millennials.

It's a brilliant move and should be mandatory NOT voluntary as it would eliminate these heinous cases of baby swaps in some hospitals and the even more insidious paternity fraud cases (especially those involving young first-time mothers some of who have multiple male lovers who they have multiple s*x encounters with before getting married and giving birth to their FIRST children) thereby leading to cases of "paternity fraud." There's a report from a DNA diagnostic center in Lagos, Nigeria which affirmed that about 30% of FIRST borns tested by them do NOT biologically belong to their current fathers.

You can imagine the devastating shock and emotional trauma MOST of us men would pass through if we discovered that we have been raising FIRST borns that are NOT biologically ours. The scenario would changes everything... the social dynamics and more. Even most of us men want to know who our real biological fathers and mothers are because that is what defines us as people based off of the knowledge of our real lineages and the truth.

RedboneSmith:
At the turn of the 20th century, Igboland was the most densely populated region of Africa outside of the Nile Valley. This was noted by colonial geographers. Even today, outside of Lagos, it remains the most densely populated region in West Africa. If you realise how relatively small the Igbo homeland is, you'd understand how emigration is an important outlet for the population pressure.

There are other factors, but the fundamental cause is: small large mass + dense population.
Indeed... The bolded right ABOVE is historically the major factor responsible for the relentless outbound migration to other locations for survival. This is intertwined with fierce competition for opportunities and resources in their homeland and this is based on archival materials I've read as well dating back to the days of the Old Eastern Region when Southern Cameroon was still part of Nigeria before they chose to leave Nigeria in 1963 because of their accusations of perceived relentless "Ibo domination" of their lands.

The first part of your submission is right, Kudos. The second part, very very wrong.

Ọga in Yoruba and Ogie in Ẹdo are not cognates... The starting sound《O》is not even the same alphabet. (O vs Ọ). It is like saying the English words "Owl" (A bird of prey) and "Awl" (A hand tool) are the same thing.

Then the tones of both are complelely different. Just the same way you know that the sound of the Ọga in Ọgaranya is different from that of the Ọga in Yoruba and by extension, Pidgin.
The Yoruboid word cognate to Ogie (If it truly exists) is more likely Oye (Titleship). In parts of Edo North, the word for King is still Oje till today.

Dont just jump into conclusions like that unless you're exactly sure. There are many false positive similarities out there between all languages.
1] "Oko Odu Oga" (The town of Ikorodu in Lagos State is derived from the FULL name Oko Odu Oga and the community was founded by the man bearing that name centuries ago). The "Oga" name refers to MASTER or BOSS in Yoruba language.

2] Olusoga.

The word OGA is pervasive as a suffix in Yoruba names such as Olusoga as well.

RomanceRe: The Untold Truth Behind These Public Proposal Rejections by AlphaTaikun: 7:28am On Nov 16, 2025
Dpsychologist:
Let’s cut through the noise.
This trend of ladies humiliating men during public proposals isn’t accidental. It’s a predictable fallout of modern relationship dynamics.

Here’s the core truth:

Men don’t propose blindly.
A man will NEVER stake his pride in a public setting unless he has been given clear emotional signals that the relationship is serious.

Forget the “men are foolish” narrative.
Nobody invests in a stock that showed no signs of growth.

Most of these guys were LED ON.

A modern woman can:

Make herself available
Cry on your chest
Act loyal
Call you her peace
Make you feel like the chosen one
…while quietly grooming her actual contender on the side.

Some women have mastered emotional manipulation to the point where:

You think you’re her best man
Meanwhile YOU are the side mission
And another guy is the main project

Your girlfriend might also be another man’s girlfriend.
Your “exclusive” relationship may be a parallel structure.

This is why during a surprise proposal:

She hesitates
She freezes
She panics
She starts calculating

Why?
Because she’s not thinking about YOU…
She’s thinking about the other guy watching that proposal video online.

Public proposal ≠ romance anymore.
It’s now a risk assessment moment for many ladies.

She’s asking herself:

“What if my Plan B sees this?”
“What if my main boyfriend finds out?”
“What if my other talking stages get ruined?”

And at that point of confusion, she makes a quick strategic decision:

Sacrifice the clown and Protect the King.

Not because you’re a bad person…
But because you were never the priority.
You were the insurance policy.

The world has changed.
The dating market is now a multi-lane expressway, not a single-file road.

Men need to wake up.
Women make decisions based on how they feel right now, not what you sacrificed last year.
RomanceRe: The Reality Behind Single Women In Their 30s by AlphaTaikun: 7:21am On Nov 16, 2025
Dpsychologist:
There’s a hard truth many avoid:

Not every woman in her 30s is single because of bad luck or lack of opportunities.
A portion genuinely found themselves in the wrong environments or invested years in relationships that were never heading toward marriage.
That’s one half of the story.

But the other half is driven by deeper, uncomfortable realities:

Overestimating their desirability.

Confusing attention with long-term intention.

Believing youth would last forever.

Prioritizing independence over long-term strategy.

Ignoring the fact that age changes the dating landscape.

For many women, the 20s are spent in emotional tourism trying out different men, chasing experiences, and assuming that marriage is something they can just “pick up” when they’re ready.

Then 30 arrives, and the market shifts. Suddenly the same traits overlooked in their 20s become liabilities:

Loudness turns to instability.

“Experience” turns to baggage.

Independence becomes defensiveness.

Confidence becomes entitlement.

Meanwhile, qualities that sustain long-term partnership like respect, stability, emotional intelligence, and femininity were never prioritised.

This leads to the basic truth:

Women with good character, humility, and emotional stability rarely remain unclaimed for long.
They’re usually married, engaged, or in solid, direction-driven relationships by their mid-20s.

THE INFLUENCE OF OLDER SINGLE WOMEN

Another driver of the rising number of single women in their 30s is the influence older women have on younger women.

Many older singles project their regrets, experiences, or insecurities onto younger ones. You hear messages like:

“Don’t marry early.”

“Enjoy your life first.”

“Marriage will stop your freedom.”

“Level up before you think of a man.”

“Men only marry younger girls to control them.”

This narrative is dangerous because:

It convinces younger women to delay decisions that require time, planning, and maturity.

It paints early marriage as oppression instead of partnership.

It reframes youth, a genuine advantage in the dating market as something to waste.

It encourages younger women to model their choices after people who are not where they themselves want to be.

And the logic behind “men marry younger women to control them” collapses quickly.
Men go younger because younger women typically offer:

less emotional baggage,

more femininity,

more adaptability,

more long-term potential,

and fewer rigid habits formed by past trauma or failed relationships.

This truth is often twisted into an accusation of “control” because it’s less painful than acknowledging the market dynamics.

As more young women adopt this mindset from their older, unmarried counterparts, the cycle repeats and a new generation enters their 30s equally unprepared, equally single, and equally confused.

BOTTOM LINE

The landscape is changing, but the fundamentals remain:

Some women are single in their 30s due to genuine misfortune.

Many are single due to choices, attitude, mindset, and denial of reality.

Peer influence accelerates the pattern, especially when young women model their lives after older women whose lives they wouldn’t trade with.

Character, clarity, humility, and strategic decision-making are what keep a woman marriage-ready not age, excuses, or trends.

Hmm 🤔, she didn’t have to freeze her eggs now .

“Ladies Consider Freezing Your Eggs, Until Mr Right Comes” Uriel Oputa Goes Emotional as She Freezes Her Eggs At 35

Uriel Oputa, a popular reality star, freezes her eggs as she laments the fact that time is running out on her while she waits for the perfect man.

In an emotional video posted on her Instagram page, the BBNaija star visited a fertility clinic to freeze her eggs and save them for future usage.

Egg freezing, according to the UK’s Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority [HFEA], is a way of preserving a woman’s fertility so she can try to have a family in the future. It involves collecting a woman’s eggs, freezing them and then defrosting them later on so they can be used in fertility treatment.

According to the 35-year-old, it was a necessary step to take because a woman’s eggs begin to diminish beyond the age of 30, lowering her chances of having a baby.

“I’m creating awareness!!! Apparently by 30 the Quality of our eggs Reduce🥹 Ladies would you consider Freezing your Eggs? Until Mr Right comes? Creating awareness and educating myself and others. We walk on this health journey together.” Uriel Oputa captioned the video.

In the video, she stated in part, “It’s a hard pill to swallow; at this age I am now, my mother had five children. Time is ticking for me and I am aware, so I decided to weigh my options. If that perfect man doesn’t come now, I need to secure myself and nurture my seeds.”

“…people who said I did not take care of my child, thank you all for what you said. I was running around to ensure that my daughter wins, that she should become someone in life, so that she can take me, her mother, out of poverty.

“…she said she does not want to see me wherever she is, is it that serious? There is still a lot to talk about.”

Adding to her grievances, she claimed she was sidelined during the finale of the show.

“On the day of the BBNaija finale, I was not even told that it was the final. It was around few minutes to 4 pm that they called me to start dressing up, and that I should wear something presentable. I was even taken somewhere else initially,” she said.

During her time on the show, Imisi spoke about her strained relationship with her parents, revealing that they sent her out of the house when she was 12, a traumatic event that led to her being raped in a church storeroom where she had sought shelter.
