Health / Re: 3Million Nigerians Living With HIV/AIDS - AHF by altim8(m): 8:09am On Feb 28, 2017
Am not surprised as many of the medical practitioners rely in the result of determine hiv kits without knowing how it works... Weak positive bands are always declared hiv positive. Well, it's advised to always use unigold hiv kit to confirm the result from determinant as 86% of these weak positive result have turned out to be negative.

Just for the record on the determine strip turns the antigen trap pink/red and not faint or a pencil like line on the patient window. Let's always confirm with other assays before coming here to release results that are scary!!!

Politics / Re: Oshiomhole To Wike: Pay Your Workers’ Salaries by altim8(m): 7:06pm On Sep 16, 2016
All is part of d campaign going on in Edo... D increase in salaries by the Edo state government came on the heels of the perceived election. It's a campaign strategy. After the elections, like the Big headed Bayelsa State Governor, they will reduce worker's salaries by 65% attributing it to the usual Buhary factor thereby recouping what they had lost during their increased minimum wage to N25,000. As for Wike, like ya brother in Bayelsa State, don't pay salaries of workers. D thunder wey go fire una dey undergo training for Mount Everest.

Former Aide of President Jonathan Mocks Buhari's 'ChangeBeginswithMe' Slogan with Shocking Facts
Posted by George on Wed 14th Sep, 2016 - tori.ng

Former spokesperson for President Goodluck Jonathan of Nigeria, Reno Omokri took to social media to mock President Muhammadu Buhari's 'ChangeBeginswithMe' slogan with Senator Ben Murray Bruce helping to propagate the message.

Pastor Reno Omokri

Pastor Reno Omokri has mocked President Muhammadu Buhari's 'Change Begins with Me' slogan by satirizing some developments that have taken place in the last 15 months of the All Progressives Congress-led admninistration of 'change'.

Read his Facebook post which has gone viral below:

"Change is defined as a sports minister who believes athletes don't need training, a finance minister who thinks recession is just a word, a science and technology minister who aspires to produce pencils in 2 years, an information minister who wants to generate jobs via masquerade dressing, an interior minister who uses his security to publicly shine his shoes, an agriculture minister who fights for land for cows instead of farmers, a labor minister who threatens banks with revocation of license when they retrench workers due to bad economy, a communications minister who wants us to pay 9% tax on calls, a transport minister who gives one President credit for a railway built by another President, an economic adviser who wants women to donate their jewelry to help govt fight recession and a Presidential spokesman who believes critics are 'wailers' all led by a President who believes #ChangeBeginsWithMe not him, though he was the one who promised it!"

Crime / Unical Attacked By Gunmen Again!!! by altim8(m): 8:36pm On Sep 09, 2016
Onyebuchi Okwueze, a student of the university who also happens to be the son of the dean was kidnapped by the gunmen while two other persons received gunshot wounds.

The gunmen were said to have invaded the institution’s staff quarters and also robbed their victims of valuable property.

According to ThisDay, the authorities of the university who made the disclosure of Friday said the kidnapped student, a son of the dean postgraduate school, is in the Department of Banking and Finance.

A press statement issued by the university’s information officer, Mr. Effiong Eyo, titled: “Unical Dean of Graduate School’s Son Kidnapped,” reads:

“A first year student of the department of Banking and Finance and son of the current Dean of Graduate School of the University of Calabar, Onyebuchi Okwueze, has been reportedly kidnapped.

“Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers yesterday stormed the premises of the Dean, Professor Emeka Okwueze, who was unavailable at the time of the attack, broke into his house and made away with his plasma television and his 24-year old son who was the only one at home.

“The gunmen who were said to have begun their operation at about 8.15pm also inflicted injuries on a lecturer in Physics department, Dr Anthony George, and his wife who were driving in and got caught up in the attack. While Dr George was shot on his right hand, his wife sustained bullet injuries on the left knee. Both are however responding to treatment.

“Though they made unsuccessful attempts to gain entrance into the stretch of houses accommodating staff within the wing of buildings, the gunmen however smashed the mirror and front tyre of a Mercedes Benz vehicle belonging to a Professor in the College of Medical Sciences, Prof Chucks Ejezie.

“It will be recalled that in the month of May this year, kidnappers invaded the same wing of buildings and took away with them the son of a Deputy Registrar, Barr Ekpenyong Iniama and the wife and daughter of Prof Wilfred Ndifon of the College of Medical Sciences, but both were later released.

“In a bid to checkmate future occurrence of the event, the Deputy Chief Security Officer of the Institution, DSP Jarlath Abang, disclosed that several security measures had been put in place by the management of the institution in conjunction with the Cross River State Government.

“The measures covered and implemented in the joint initiative include demolition of all shanties at the waterfront by the Cross River State Government, prohibition of fishing and farming at the water front, displacement of illegal occupants and constant patrol of the quarters both by security operatives on foot and vehicles.

“The Deputy Chief Security Officer attributed the delay in the distress call as a major reason for the kidnappers’ gain.

“The Vice Chancellor of the institution, Prof Zana Akpagu, visited the homes of the staff who were affected by the attack and commiserated with them over the unfortunate event and assured them of anagement’s concern over their welfare and pledged to do all within the purview of his office to ensure the release of those kidnapped and also catch up with the kidnappers.

“He also promised to work with the relevant security agencies to ensure continued safety of lives and properties on campus.”
