I got an offer from the University of Bradford, NTU, BCU and the University of Surrey to study Data Analytics/Business Analytics between February and March of 2022. All the essays were written by me and I did my applications myself. I chose to accept an offer from the University of Bradford but later deferred my admission to this year to allow my youngest child to reach the mature age of 5 years old before I begin my Master's degree program. ( My children aren't joining me).
I paid my deposit of 5000 pounds and booked my accommodation at the University in February. I did my TB test in late April in Lagos state and submitted my financial evidence of 24,000 pounds to the University the following day. I prepared and attended CAS Interview in the first week of May and got my CAS issued the next day.
I had no problems till it was time to fill out my application. In the dependant section, I filled "Yes" for being financially responsible for my children which was a mistake I thought I could correct after paying my Visa and IHS fees. In my travel history, my last 3 travels in the past 10 years were to have my 2 kids and 1 tourist visa in the US and Europe respectively. I actually wrote that as my reason because I answered that in my US visa Interview.(they have that on record).

I submitted my application on 17 May, 2023 and did my Biometrics on 19 May, 2023. I submitted my TB certificate, Data Analytics course training certificate from a course I did for 3 months from September to December of 2022, a copy of my Degree certificate, my IELTS score report, my Husband's pay slip showing he can support my family in Nigeria and I while I study ( Senior Pipeline Engineer at Shell Nigeria) and 2 letters (an Introduction letter and a letter correcting the mistake I spoke about earlier).

I had no idea I was supposed to submit documentation explaining my study gap so I was surprised when I got an email on 22 May, 2023 asking me to send documentation regarding that. I haven't worked in a traditional setting since I graduated from University in 2012 except for volunteering at my Mum's company from 2017 to 2020 and running my own business from 2020 to 2022. As a result, I submitted my NYSC certificate, and my CAC documents and business bank statements as evidence to support my study gap, along with certificates of courses I took for a year prior to September 2022 on modules in my Master's degree, my CV and github portfolio showing projects on Machine learning and Data Analytics with Python as well as certificates of Python programming and technical assessments test report sheets. ( they were 22 certificates in total).
I submitted these on 25 May and got called for an Interview on 2 June. At my Interview, I was asked 3 questions only.
1. Why did you choose to study in the Uk?
2. Why did you choose this course?
3. What are your modules?

I did really well answering all 3 questions and was even thrilled I got the opportunity to talk extensively about my modules so I could prove without a doubt I was a genuine student. I asked my Interviewer when I would likely get a decision and she said Monday. My Interview was on a Saturday and lasted 7 mins, and Monday was in 2 days. That was 10 weeks ago...

I have an extensive travel history and I have never been denied a visa. I currently have an active US visa in my passport for a planned summer vacation with my family this month but I can no longer make due to this delay.

To be honest, I am emotionally exhausted and even more so mentally exhausted. I really wish they could just give me a decision already. I put a lot of effort into preparing academically for my degree, it has to work out...

Please how did you got this resolved, I fall into the same category with you. I submitted my application 12th of January, biometric was done 20th of January, decision was made 23rd of January 2023. Could you believe till now UKVI are yet to return my passport back after several paid mails, they responded that there was an error on my application from there side but the error has been corrected that I will receive my passport back by 13th of march 2023. meanwhile my enrollment deadline was 12th of February 2023. My school keep telling me not to bother coming that I should defer my admission to September intake, Note the application was a priority, no nsf mail, Now how do I get my ihs refund back from UKVI? Please tell me how urs was treated. Can ukvi be sue for this?

Am sorry to read about your post of not meeting up with the enrollment date. I believe you also wrote to the British high commissioner was it that it was too close before you wrote that you didn't meet up.
My wife is having issues getting her collection mail as well and we don't want to miss this opportunity because of UKVI negligence and having spent so much. She did her BIO on the 23rd of Nov and gotten decision 10th December but up till now no BRP mail or collection even after all we dependents have gotten our BRP mail and Passport back.
we have escalated today but can we still write to the British high commission and who do we address it too. Also, can we send a mail as well.
Is it advisable to attach our BRP to it since she hasn't gotten ours to enable them to know it was decided and successful.

Been following your case closely and it's quite similar to mine. So sorry for your experience, I know the feeling. Something this expensive should at least have a provision for appropriate redress or compensation in extreme cases of this nature. In my case I was fortunate to get assurances from the school i would get a slot if I deferred to January amd the school also advised me to cancel/withdraw the visa application. I've lost the visa app fee but at least the IHS will be refunded. Goodluck with what's next and stay strong!

Your evidence and cover letter has to be solid to get that refund back

A proper decision would have been to request for a cancellation since you were advised that you will be deferred if you don't meet the last date of enrollment.Requesting a cancellation would mean your IHS will be refunded

Prepare the series of emails and request for escalation between yourself, Uni and UKVI respectively,add the decision by your Uni to defer your admission and add a solid cover letter asking for a refund or exemption to pay IHS fee when it is time to reapply

So sorry about this.
You would have to write to UKVI including the mail you received from your school letting them know you won’t be coming to the UK. It’s clearly not your fault.
Your IHS would be refunded but not your visa fee.

Thank you for your response, yes i do,v i even sent them complaint. I collected my passport on 13/10/2022 and the enrollment ended on 14/10/2022. The school sent me mail not to come since i didn't meet the enrollment.

So you know, I did bio aug 20, call and issue was escalated on the 12 of sept., another escalation on 4 of October. All this while, i didn't receive any NSF mail.

Finally got my passport today after bio sin August 20, but school enrollment ends tomorrow. I have sent mail to my faculty since 3 days ago yet no response. I called this evening to ask I could buy ticket during weekend and come for my enrollment on monday, but the agent that spoke to me adviced me not to until I get clearance from the program director. My challenge now the director isn't responding to mails.

If it's Lagos, head straight to deputy high commission in VI. Armed with a letter carrying all necessary info. Put it in an envelope. I advise you bring your letter from home. Those tout around the embassy charge up to 1k. Hand your letter over to the security.

I've written TLScontact like 3 times after the first response I got from them reiterating that the parcel has been sent out. They haven't replied yet. And I'm not far from Lagos. 5th of October
11am another call from BHC Abuja that i should make sure i bring my passport to their office before 3pm today

At that point, the only question i was asking myself was why they wanted my passport so bad

I just headed straight to FCT HIGH COURT at Maitama.
Luckily for me, i saw 1 policemen that did the report and the affidavit for me for 10k or so cos the crowd there was much..

Around 2:45pm my passport was already with me...Na so i open passport begin find error for my name but i no see....

Immediately i headed straight to BHC. Got there around few minutes to 3 and submitted passport
I started speaking in tongues for like 30 to 45 minutes before 1 guy just came outside with my passport and said "i was the one that called you"... Na so baba point the error for me...They spellt my name PFTER instead of PETER...
To cut the long story short, the guy pasted another Vignette on my passport o

I did my bio on 19th of August (standard, VI) and after much calls and mail, I received my brp letter on the 21st of September, indicating that decision was made on 12th of September.
Since then till now, my application is still with DMC.
I made another call this morning and I was told that so far I have my brp letter, nothing is wrong anywhere. He also acknowledged that my passport is with the DMC.

Honestly I'm tired!!!

Have you tried taking your complaint to British Deputy High Commission, Lagos.
Write a detailed letter including all your details put it in an envelop, the security guys there will collect it from you.

I did my bio on Aug 20, called and issue was escalated on September 12, today make it 15 working days yet I called and I'm told decision not made and they will get in touch whenever a decision is made. Worst is I have never gotten NSF mail from Ukvi. The challenge is there is even no timeline for resolution and my school enrollment will be over my next week.
I will really appreciate any advice that can help

Please,I seriously need your help on UK Student visa application. Biometric was done on the 25th of July in Abj, I made my first paid mail on the 23rd of September, no decision taken. I escalated it on 24th of September, I was told to wait for 15 working days. Meanwhile, after the escalation I was requested to send my date of birth and email address, which I did. I made another paid mail on the 1st of September and it was still awaiting decision. I have been making paid calls each week till now and yet awaiting decision. I made a paid call on the 16th of September and it was escalated again. Am so worried,this is the 8th week of waiting. Though I have completed online pre-enrolement but my school gave 3rd October as a deadline for joining. What could be responsible for this long and unusual delay? Is there anything else to do? Anyone who has passed through same experience and what was the outcome?

Thank you. I thought the CAS would come with the passport number I used to apply and alterations (a new passport number ) might complicate things. I submitted the application already anyway

In my case when I requested for CAS, the lady that attended to me mailed me that they cannot my passport since it has already expired and I should provide a passport that is valid. I immediately told her that I have but had problems uploading it on my application portal. She asked me to mail it to her, helped me to upload it and used it for my CAS.

Sure. Don't be discouraged, a friend just got hers visa yesterday 30/09/2022. She did biometrics on 07/09/2022. It is very possible to get it in 3 weeks. What I don't understand is why some are been delayed. Never be discouraged.

My question is since the course is likely to start in September 2023, a month after August, will the school grant me the admission or they’ll insist on a new passport?

In short, can I start the application process with a passport due to expire before the course starts in 11 months time? I understand that it has to be renewed before I travel but can I apply to the school with the current one?

Hello everyone, please any idea of what to do about my visa. I applied on the 19th of July, Biometrics was done on the 19th of August in VI and was sent to DMC on the same day. Visa has been with DMC since then. I have done paid mail once, paid call twice, 15th working days after the first paid mail is next Friday and enrollment deadline for my school is the 17th of October. Please any idea of what else to do? They keep saying it has been escalated that I should be patient. No NSF mail received, no reason for the delay stated.

I'm experiencing similar issue did bio August 20, no NSF yet no decision. Monday will be 15 working day after escalation. We can only hope for the best
