Sometimes people make bad marriage decisions even after dating for years. Proper marriage planning and having certain counseling before hand may do more than years of sleeping together to see if you like it. Here's some things to look for: 1. Forms to request: Bank statement, credit score, medical history, prenuptial agreement, educational degrees, criminal record 2. Test to take: HIV, STI, genetic disorders, psychological stability, IQ 3. Counseling to seek: spiritual, financial, conflict resolution 4. Discussion to have: children, careers and retirement, in cases of severe illness, pet peeves, infidelity, relationship with family, long term goals 5. People to talk to: Family members and close friends of the other person, people who know you and have met this person All of these things are suggestions for the types of information one should know before getting married. If you can get all this information (and more) and make an informed decision then good luck. I love love |
I do believe in marrying with love in mind. Because what people tend to call love is at times a fleeting sentiment, practicality and proper planning are necessary. I will not be marrying into a poor family, because of issues that will arise after marriage. Poor family members tend to create great financial pressure on males, which will put financial pressures on our household. I don't mind helping out in extreme circumstances, but it shouldn't be a regular occurrence. I have to plan for my children's futures and my own retirement. It also has implications on who my children are related to and the examples of success they will grow up around. If I marry into a family with several doctors, lawyers, bankers, and other respectable professionals (not necessarily rich), then those are the people my children will be surrounded by. Being unrealistic about financial concerns when getting married may have a terrible impact on a happy home. No, don't marry for money, but financial planning needs to be a part of the marriage conversation. Don't ignore it. |
You forgot. . . The Bag Lady: The women who carries her emotional issues from past relationships into new ones. She'll blame you for every wrong ever done to her by a man. The Professional Babymamma: Multiple children, multiple fathers, and looking for the man to take care of them all The Perfectionist: This one comes off as lovable, but there's a dark side. Everything has to be absolutely perfect, and she'll stop at nothing to make it so. You'll find this helpful at first, but you'll slowly realize she's a control freak. The Social Climber: She's not a gold digger, she's strategic. She'll date you as long as you are on her level, but she'll be willing to upgrade when someone of a higher status shows interest in her. She usually has her own money, which is why she's not a GD. |

It's fun. I enjoy going shopping and expressing myself through my fashion. I went shopping this weekend. My brothers don't usually have the patience. They usually just want something functional and appropriate. Shopping is also a female social experience. I can sit with my friend while she tries on 10 pairs of shoes and give feedback. We also live in a society that places a major emphasis on female beauty. Advertise, television, even the dolls we are given as children promote a fashion-conscious consumerism. We are so often praised on the way we look and what we wear, so it feels good to look good. I love shopping, though I'm very aware of the way culture and society has acted on me. |
I think it's necessary and beneficial for society as a whole to have an informed population about reproductive health and intimacy. Ignoring STI's and teen pregnancy won't make those things go away. Even if it's taught from a biology perspective and not a morality perspective, it would be beneficial. Many young people are tricked into activities and making bad decisions simply because of ignorance. I am an advocate of education and an enemy of ignorance. I realize there are religious and familial issues that may stand in the way, but the realities of now have to be addressed. These young people don't have the tools to make good decisions. |

First, be sure to use a large wide tooth comb to start and work down to a narrower detangler comb. Do not comb your hair with a part comb. A detangling moisturer may help also. I shampoo my hair, let my detangling conditioner sit for 5-10 minutes, then as warm water runs over my hair I detangle slowly from bottom to top with a paddle brush, section by section. If you wear a lot of weaves, the stress can weaken the hair and the hair will also experience natural shedding, some loss is to be expected. From the paddle brush, I use a wide toothed comb, then a narrower comb for styling. Any time I comb or brush my hair I work in small sections from bottom to top. Starting at the top will rip a lot of hair out that could be worked through with patience. |
Gaudy, but to each her own |
In Senegal, it's culturally acceptable to hiss to get someone's attention, like when catching a cab. I think it's inappropriate to hiss in disgust or distaste. Let's not get into teeth sucking as if it's a national sport. |
It's just wrong. Even when a relationship ends badly, there are lingering feelings and unresolved issues. Why cause bad blood between you, your friend, and other friends who may take sides. There are enough men in the world without having a man your friend has been with. And what happens when they remember the good times and want to try again? Then the friendship is ruined and the relationship is gone too. I do not agree with it, though the heart wants what it wants. It would be hard for two people who like each other to stop their progress, but trouble is ahead. |

Incited by the fashion fails I've seen all over, I must ask: Are you a real friend? If your friend leaves the house looking crazy or is about to leave looking crazy, do you stop and help her get it together? Or do you just shake your head and talk behind her back? I see so many women looking like they don't have friends. I'm wondering if they do have friends who don't care. I'll share: I will not let any of my friends go out with me looking crazy. Not that I police their style or believe myself to be all knowing, but sometimes my girls need help and other times they help me . Friend: Girl, your thong is showing Fashion Fail: OMG I couldn't tell Friend: No problem, you should wear a different style and color Fashion Fail: I'll go change 10 minutes later Fashion Win! |
1. Accessories! Colorful scarves, bead jewelry, sunglasses, belts, hand bags big and small 2. Tank top blouses: great to wear with suits or under a cute jacket (camisoles make everyone look fat) 3. At least one pair of shoes that is not black or brown 4. The perfect pair of boots, no higher than mid calf 5. Simple and chic cocktail dresses (black, gray, navy, ivory, taupe), with the right accessories they can be worn multiple times in different settings 6. Blazers! 7. The supersized shirt: this can be a button up or a sweater but it makes leggings look appropriate and is deftly accented with a belt or scarf. It screams "I'm cute and casual" |
1. Remember to go to class. Showing up in class and taking notes lets you know what the teacher wants on the exam. 2. Study with peers and alone. By studying with peers, you make sure not to miss anything by relying simply on your own notes and memories. 3. If you are really struggling to understand, get a tutor early on in the class well before finals (just someone who took the class before you and did well, the prof may recommend someone) 4. Pray for clarity and peace Great post OP ![]() |

I'm too arrogant to copy from my peers and too proud of my grades for them to be a sham. Never. |

I think it's very pretty and will look great. Remember, she's standing on rocks. It will be dragging in the sand if you don't mind it properly while walking. Most women who do beach weddings tend to go for shorter styles because of the weather, water, and sand. Good luck! |

I'm left handed. I must say, I can be pretty bad. You know jay walking and eating dessert before dinner. |
Was this supposed to be news? |
I believe that the universe rights wrongs. They won't necessarily get caught, but they'll get theirs. This usually comes about when he/she falls actually in love then gets played or he/she ends up bitter and alone. The best game is open and honest, so there is no "catching" to be done. |
