This is a good one. I just hope they can continue with it to help grow our economy in the agricultural sector! Great! |
DEcclesia:Excellent! But you don't have to abuse him......he is possibly older than your .....? |
Why can't people be logical in their comments on this platform lately? What is wrong in subjecting his argument to logical assessment, instead of abusing his religion and person? You don't have to agree with him always, but he has a right to put out his view and like any informed fellow, you have the right to hold your own views. Why are our young people wishing for better life when they cannot intelligently contribute to public discuss with sound statistics and intelligent reasoning, to support or counter a position canvassed by someone else? Every time, you guys break everything down to tribe and/or religion......it makes me sick that you young people here are not ready to transform this nation......that is why you defend someone who steals our common wealth, because he belongs to your religion/tribe or is opposed to the person you simply hate! Please stop, otherwise the ruling class would continue installing their generations unborn to rule you while you make empty noises. By the way, when they are sharing the common wealth, they don't care about tribe/religion, nor us by the way! |
How many of you here knows that the Jews never have peace with their neighbors throughout history. In fact, they have been thrown out of over 96 countries for causing one problem or the other. The Europeans were really hated them and were glad to have them settled in Palestine. On landing in Palestine, they started killing the people, demolishing their houses and actually exterminating villages. I wish all of you who are praising the Israelis, the kind of life the Palestinians are going through!. In Jesus name, Amen! |

ELECTRICITY MADE SIMPLE 6: SOLAR POWER SYSTEM 1 PROLOGUE In concluding EMS series 5 on Cables, we asked our readers to help us choose the next topic to be discussed and the majority chose solar power system. We thank all those who responded; we are encouraged. In other to satisfy the broad spectrum of readers of this series (Experts, Students, Sub-experts, novice, hobbyist and non-technical persons), we are hereby soliciting for areas of Solar Power systems you want us to cover or the areas you are finding difficult to understand. You may drop your comments here: http://shaybisnigltd.com/contact/ Thank you for your anticipated kind response. INTRODUCTION Solar Power System, SPS, is a member of the renewable energy sources used in generating Electricity as a standalone or distributed grid scale power system. Solar energy system is not as recent as many of my readers would believe, as one of the largest solar plant in the world with installed capacity of 354MW (about 10% of Nigeria’s current total generation), commenced operations in 1986, and upgraded in 1990. It is located in the Mojave Desert of California, USA. However, current world’s largest solar power plant, the Zengher solar park, is in China with installed capacity of 1,547MW. It was installed in 2015. The biggest Solar power plant in Nigeria is rated 1MW. Since Solar belongs to a group of Energy sources converted or used to produce Electricity, called renewable energy sources, we shall discuss Renewable Energy briefly in this first part of Solar Power System as bases for an understanding of solar and its place in the Electricity Energy matrix of the world. Renewable Energy Renewable energy sources are those sources of energy that are considered inexhaustible, that is, they cannot finish or better still, they are always available; hence the use of the term, renewable. They naturally replace or replenish automatically by natural environmental factors in proportion to consumption. Examples of renewable energy sources are water in a river, ray of light from sun, biogas from biological waste and so on. The additional benefit of renewable energy sources is that they have little or no negative effect on the environment. However, non-renewable sources of energy are finite and by definition going to finish someday, because they don’t automatically and/or naturally replace themselves at the pace they are being consumed. Examples are Coal, Gas and Oil. For example, Nigeria oil wells are estimated to dry off in 25 years. The other side effect of nonrenewable energy is that they emit carbon, which affects the ozone balance of the earth. This in turn causes huge effect on global climate; part of the effect of which is the current global warming we are experiencing. This in turn affects agricultural production in parts of the world. It also causes drought, heat wave and so on. TYPES OF RENEWABLE ENERGY SOURCES Note that we have been describing sources of energy that can be converted to Electricity. They cannot on their own produce electricity, which is why we are describing them as sources of energy, which can be converted to produce electricity. As stated in the first part of EMS series, we hereby list some sources of energy that can be converted to Electricity: Hydro- damming of water flow to drive turbines which generates electricity Geothermal-which uses the heated water/steam from the earth to drive electric power generators Biomass-which harness the gas generated from biological waste to drive electricity generators Wind- uses the power of the wind to drive electric power generators Solar-which harness the light from the sun and converts it to electricity For the records, these energy sources can actually be converted to other forms of energy as the application is determined. For example, light from the sun can be used to heat special materials for food preservation and even as water heater for home use. For this part, we are concerned with solar power system. We shall be discussing, the technology, how it works, how to determine your need and social factors of solar power system. If requested, we would demonstrate how you can design your own solar power system for domestic use. Because of the fast rising importance of this great technology to our modern life and how it can help us in developing nations rapidly industrialize, I would end with a quote for Goldman Sach’s website: “Falling wind and solar costs are set to spur even greater investment in renewable technologies. Goldman Sachs Research’s Alberto Gandolfi forecasts that by 2023, renewables will be able to operate without government subsidies. From there, Gandolfi expects wind and solar deployment to accelerate, reaching $3 trillion over the next 20 years”. Solar power is definitely an enchanting technology that can help accelerate the developmental aspiration of developing economies; so let us explore a bit! Next: What is solar power system? Once the name of a killer sounds Arabic, he is associated with his Islam, yet the Christians Arabs bear the same names. A former student shot a Professor a few weeks ago, at UCLA, yet he was not associated with any religion nor was he called a terrorist! Why do we have so many foolish people in the world who just want to label others? |
Even if there are Professors in the department, any Senior lecturer can be made HOD. It is an appointment at the discretion of the Dean and/or VC, which is terminal. |
PhockPhockMan:TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN: The above is absolutely false. Mr Damian was not the first Nigerian to fabricate a working radio station in Nigeria. The credit goes to a graduate of the then Kwara state college of Technology, whose name i cannot readily remember, in 1976. If you say, he was the first to do so using herbs, i cannot oppose that. In the 80's i met Mr Damian at one or two trade fairs where he demonstrated a touch sensitive wireless microphone and some other interesting gadgets, whose mechanisms were rather opaque to some of us in the field. As to your emotional outburst, Nigeria is where we deserve to be! |

[quote author=olatunji21 post=35707266]As much as i love to stay awake in this night of blessings, i wish i know how to recite d glorious Quran.. i would so much appreciate any prayer tips anyone can offer.. Sir, you can say this several times 1,000, 2,000, 3,000 as you wish: Allaahumma innaka ‘afuwwun tuhibb al-‘afwa fa’affu ‘anni (O Allaah, You are forgiving and You love forgiveness, so forgive me). With the above, you can ask for anything from Allah! You can also recite Suratul Fatiha or Ikhlas or Kathara as many times as possible and then ask for anything you want. Before all the above, please Say Astagfrullahi, Allhamdullilahi, Laila illalahu and Allahumasali allamuamadu wasalim as many times as you can,. Allah knows best. |
misssclassy:Young woman, may God bless you! In addition, i will say, she is very beautiful, but does not use make-up and not vain enough to do like ORJIAKOR |
Aitee1:Which phone will u recommend to me for 15-25K? I need good memory, very clear pictures, Double sim and 5 & above screen. By the way, someone recommended INFINIX HOT NOTE. Can this phone be used to write on the screen like Galaxy note? Recommendations please! |
shiningshina:Thanks. That is an intelligent analyst. Facts are sacred! The same thing happened in Lagos, when people started associating JK as Igbo candidate and Yorubas started seeing him as a sell out. Also, the Saraki family have this grassroots mobilization that is formidable and with high level of poverty in the state and so many people with history of benefit from the family, they need to commit a catastrophic crime to be voted out. |
49cents:Sir, what is your business? Bush Father & Son ruled America, the greatest nation on earth. If you are a Kwaran and you are so worried, start your own mobilization and get people to believe in you enough to vote for you. As for those denigrating the achievement of Governor Ahmed, i can tell you he has performed better than most South South/East governors who get more federal allocation than him. |
hardywaltz:MY PRAYER FOR RIVERS * God, let the powers that be allow us have free and fair election in Rivers * God, enter the mind of all participants to shun violence so that we can have peace in Rivers state * God, with the above granted, i and all peace-loving people of Nigeria will accept the result without question, like our great statement GEJ FELLOW NIGERIANS, WHAT DO THINK? |
deskossy:PLEASE SAY IT AGAIN: COMMERCIALLY, ACADEMICALLY, SOCIALLY, THE IGBOS ARE THE MOST SUCCESSFUL ETHNIC NATIONALITY IN NIGERIA. No competition! |
kekakuz:Sir, We don't have close to a million PhD holders in Nigeria. We don't even have close to 500,000. Let us do simple maths. Lets say each of our 150 Universities have 500 PhD holders, that gives only 75,000. Now let us be generous and say we have this number in all our other institution of higher learning in Nigeria, that gives 150,000 total. Now let us account for those in private sector and other places, with 10,000. It therefore implies without much ado that we have less than 200,000 Phd holders in Nigeria. My brother, PhD no be maimai! |
meshacha1:Sir, if you believe the truth and you dont want God to punish you for telling lie against your fellow human being stop repeating this lie against Buhari. BUHARI NEVER SAID IF HE LOSES ELECTION HE WILL MAKE NIGERIA UNGOVERNABLE. Educated, informed and decent people look for prove to their claims. Once there is no prove they discard the lie even if it appears to be supportive of what they would like to believe. Thanks. |
AllNaijaBlogger:LET THE COMMANDER IN CHIEF DO HIS JOB. SIMPLE. OUR BOSS, LEADER AND NUMBER ONE NIGERIAN SHOULD LEAD AND MESS UP ANYBODY REMOTELY CONNECTED WITH BOKO HARAM LET OUR PRESIDENT AND HIS SUPPORTERS STOP THIS RECKLESS BUCK PASSING STYLE. IT IS NONSENSE! WE DID NOT FORCE HIM TO LEAD US. LET HIM LEAD AND WIPE OUT THE BAD/EVIL PEOPLE LIKE GREAT LEADERS. |
Thanks. I went to facebook and i got the advert. I tried from their and it failed. I believe it was because of the browser. I'm downloading a new browser. Cheers. |
Sir, I have tried on several occasions without success to access the website you specified. Please check what is going on Example:http://abdurrahmanlekki.com/ramadan-quranic-project-day-18/ Thank you. May Allah reward you in multiple fold. |
ochukoccna: The meat of his argumentsThank you my brother; may God bless you. With thinking people like you, Nigeria is still hopeful. As for those who are praying for break-up of the country, be prepared for an un-ending wars as the region that may suffer most would not be in the North. Southerners for example have more solid investments all around Nigeria than Northerners. As an example, I can tell you that the hatred that subsist among the ethnic groups in Rivers alone is enough to cause a 100 years civil war. |
Please add Larry Coldsweat (? what is the spelling?). He was my work mate in the 90s, i saw a few posters of him a couple of weeks ago and i also met him on a plane about 2 weeks ago where he told me he has dumped acting for pulpit. Interesting fellow! |
Afghanistan where they have been at war for over 30 years, they still have the facilities to perform this complex surgery. My question: Do we have the capacity to do the same? |
honey: how do i download the lecturesGo to http://www.jarushub.com/1st-jarushub-career-conference-presentations/ then download what you want. |
Jarus: Sorry bro. We got more than 200 applicants, and we had spaces for 100. Next edition by God's grace. Thanks bros. I have downloaded some of the lectures. If i was living in Lagos, i would have volunteered to be a facilitator. I do that regularly in PH. May God bless you. |
humblesteve: Why are you guys lamenting so much like this? Asking who is he or the hell he is to make such utterances though am not in support of the threat but, can someone vividly remind me or put me in if I can't be sure if IBB recognized the threat of BUHARI when he came out boldly to the public that he will make the GEJ governance uncomfortable and unbearable...?Sir, do you have any documentary evidence of where BUHARI said: he will make the GEJ governance uncomfortable and unbearable...? If no sir, please join me is dispelling this LIE that has spread so much about this man. It is unfair! Thank you for being a decent, educated, just and fair Nigerian! |
