mrvitalis: Slave trade happened roughly 200 years ago ...u can't develop a unique Igbo language and culture with several sub dialects in 200 years
Etche language is far from ikwerri ....ikwerri is closer to owerri if u listen well is Ikwerre a distinct language? what is ur point? I didn't say that they speak same dialect with etche, don't misquote me, we are here to discuss their real history, don't quote me again, you behave like efulefu sometimes, go and learn the ethics of ethnic politics in Nigeria. |

So my Rivers sister, you are in a better position to tell the truth about the Ikwerre-Igbo dichotomy rather than the above claim. Amadioha shrine is in etche Rivers State
If they say they are not igbos good and fine I don't give too bleep
Ikwerri is landlocked and no oil ..so why do they think we want their land ...for what ? The Aro settlement there was created by pure Aro migrants in order not to be confused as Slave descendants like the rest of ikwerres. I am not claiming them . |

Oriaku Amara wishes you all a happy new month. I want to inform everyone here about the truthful origin and genesis of the Ikwerre identity crisis, It didn't start because of the war, No rather it started from slave trade . Ikwerre elders know this truth, during the Aro Confederacy between the Arochukwus,Okrikas, and Ibibios , it was built on Slave trade and other products export, it was a successful partnership that saw a lot of products coming in and going out through okrika waterways, no wonder Igbos call imported reused cloths "Okrika" to point to where it was imported through back in those days, so the Aros captured a lot of innocent people in the Ibo hinterlands and sold them through Okrika waterways , when the British banished slave trade ,they sent a task force to go and arrest those slave traders and free the slaves in cage waiting to be sold, they came and arrested some Aro chiefs including some okrika chiefs who engaged in that evil trade and free those slaves in slavecamps waiting to be sold, since they can't remember where they came from ,they settled in etche forests and some okrika territories, those people are the IKWERRES, they were later populated by etche, Ngwa, ngor okpuala migrants, That is the origin why they started hating people from the Igbo hinterland where Aros came from for trying to sell them, now when the British established port Harcourt for exportation of Enugu coal through rail , the Igbos from hinterlands populated the town which is 80% on Ikwerre land, the hinterland migrants were prospering and having Influence, the ikwerres hated it especially because or these descendants of people who sold some of their people to slave trade , the only way to revenge and take hold of port Harcourt is to deny being Igbo and hate anybody from the hinterland, the civil war gave them the perfect opportunity to implement it, If you read Elechi Amadi works, he once cited that he has no problem with all Igbos or accepting being Igbo but He has an issue with Aros. why? He knows the real truth, The Akalaka and Benin forged migration story is used to beef up their battered self esteem , there is no atom of truth in it. since 1967 The ikwerres have been fighting the truth till date yet they have not succeeded in burying the truth because nothing can defeat the truth. This is the real origin of this whole identity brouhaha, Ask any very elderly Okrika man, he will confirm what I just wrote. Dear Ikwerres, you are free to be whatever you want but You can NEVER be a distinct ethnic nation with Igboid identity, NEVER, drop it and go create your own, Simple. I am not claiming you guys beside it is your son Rotimi Amaechi that goes about claiming being Igbo . history is history, even the Ogonis and Ijaws know ur real history.
Oriaku Amara loves you all. |

Ikwerres origin is from slave trade, they are descendants of slaves the Arochukwus captured from Ibo hinterlands and sold through okrika waterways, when slave trade ended, some of them who were waiting to be sold were released and they settled in their present location only to be populated by migrants from etche, ngwa etc that's the origin of the hatred against Igbos in the hinterland. ikwerre elders know this history |

B3ACHSIDE: Nigeria is one of the most disorganized countries in the world, most of it's cities unplanned. I think urban planning should be prioritized and almost everything needs to be demolished,re-planned, and rebuilt from scratch. I did a rough estimate of how much it would cost to compensate all homeowners in Calabar & Cross river and it amounts to $2.4 billion dollars for Calabar area , $4 Billion dollars for Cross river as a whole . I love reading your threads, you are foresighted and modern in thinking, demolishing a city like calabar is a nearly an impossible task rather the govt should target a thick forested rural area ,compensate the land owners there and develop the area with a good European styled urban planning. |

bigpriik: It pains me how these guys have brought shame to igboland they have made us look like land grabbers ,it's pains me how this bini people(as they claim) flew through the air and landed in igboland ,adopted our language, our names and counting system ofu to iri loosing theirs .please and please ikas and Ikwerres should never be part of BiAfra I will denounce my biafran citizenship if they are included in BiAfran map, there is absolutely nothing to gain if they are part of BiAfra they don't have direct access to the sea, they don't have good arable land they occupy a very small land mass.
I stopped taking Rivers people serious when I discovered that we have egbema people in both river and imo state , the ones in imo claim they are Igbos the ones in Rivers claim the are not Igbos yet they are one egbema people you see politics over common sense? .
I prefer biafra with aniomas ( 50% accept theyr Igbo origin ),obigbos and opobo they rest are irrelevant,I would rather have have a sincere fulani or Hausa man in biafra than having an Ikwerre or ika man. You are very stupid for creating this thread. very stupid, giving irrelevant people attention |
Politics › Re: Why Ikwerres And Ikas Should Be Excluded From Biafra Struggle. by Amarabae(f): 7:26am On Jul 07, 2020 |
HopeAtHand: There has never been any basis for a direct comparison between Ikwerre and Igbo. It is unfair, unjust and immoral.
Infact, there should be no comparison between Igbo and any minority in Nigeria. If a contest should arise, should be between Igbos, Yoruba and Hausa. That Ikwerre is being compared to Igbo says alot about how Igbos keep themselves.
Funfact; Oyo state is almost same size as SE. So you see. Always losing sleep over anything Igbo, I discovered that some of you Bini wannabe suffer from inherited self delusion passed on from generations of land sellers like yours. I ask sometimes if your ancestors were so dumb that they lost their Bini identities and picked Igboid own, nobody gives a hoot what Elechi amadi made you guys to believe, Drop Igbo identities and take on Bini own. this stupidity has gone far. Real historians know that you guys are descendants of slaves Arochukwu slavetraders picked from Ibo hinterlands and sold through Okrika waterways, some were not sold due to abolishment of the Trade, they settled down there with some migrants joining you guys from etche, ngwa axis go and verify from an elderly okrika elder how you land sellers came to be, or go read up about Aro confederacy , we all know the truth even the late elechi amadi hence the inferiority complex and desperation to attach yourselves to Benin just to feel good. we all know ur real history,I will open a thread on that with colonial document fact. Politics › Re: Eze Chukwuemeka To Tinubu: “Any Further Attacks On Amaechi Will Be Resisted” by Amarabae(f): 8:31pm On Jun 26, 2020 |
OfoIgbo: Ndigbo don't have to wait for 16 years, but I am not really hugely enthusiastic about those who are likely to get the Igbo slot. I have no confidence in Peter Obi, Rochas Okorocha and Orji Uzor Kalu. You well know the powers that be will never ever allow proper Igbo niggaz like Kingsley Muoghalu, Festus Odimegwu, possibly Soludo, run for such an office. They will only prefer compromised Igbos who they can be controlling from behind the scenes, and by the time you know it, 8 years is up, and Igbos will forever loose the right to clamour for the presidency.
If Igbos are ever gonna get the presidency, it had better be by a competent Igbo man with no skeletons in his cupboard, so that the internal colonisers will not be able to twist and turn him, all in the name of an Igbo presidency.
I'll rather the SS holds the presidency, than the presidency going to a compromised and blackmail.able SE Igbo man.
People may ask why did I add Peter Obi to this list. I did that because he is a micro-manager and his style of leadership is not what is required in the presidency. After 8 years, he would only have succeeded in doing about 2 or 3 things, instead of 8 to 9 things that is expected.
As you rightly stated further in your writeup, Amaechi will strictly be doing the turn of the SS, and definitely not the turn of the SE, whether he sees himself as Igbo or not.
But we as Igbos must also be very careful in how we label Igbos in the SS. No doubt, Ikwerres have helped in making themselves suspicious to the generality of Igbos, but any of them who appears consistent in always identifying himself/herself as an Igbo whether in good or bad times, we must embrace such a person. We should not go throwing around the person, a false appellation he/she has already rejected. The fact that the person identifies as Igbo does not make the person a SE-ner. I am very disappointed with this ur comment, you talk like a person battling with inferiority complex, ikwerres are not Igbos , amaechi nonsense claim is political, no ikwerre man can take an Igbo turn, if anything is zoned to South south, it will be taken by ijaws, urhobos, efiks etc beef up ur self esteem |
