Do anyone has an idea of what dates are been really now in Abuja?

Please has anyone travelled to the US with an infant?
Are there any vaccines or regulations with travelling with an infant?

So I went to the hospital. I was already contracting but it wasn't strong enough nor was it painful.
Dr. Did VE and said I was in labour already and 2cm dilated + cervix is soft.
I was told it might not be necessary to be induced again but fingers crossed.

Asked to go back home and back tomorrow

So I went back to the hospital the next day(Saturday). Got to the hospital around 8:30pm
I was told that we will have to proceed with the cervical ripening. So as to be induced the next day(sunday).

The Dr. Set up the procedure and I must say it was really painful. After a while she said we will not be able to continue with the cervical ripening cos I started bleeding. Just slight bleeding though.also 4cm dilated

Contractions keep coming. Was admitted and I was asked to go to bed. Couldn't sleep much though cos of Contractions. Next day(Sunday morning) Dr. Came at 7:05am broke my water. Started inducing by 7:17am. Pain was really excruciating but I had promised I wasn't going to shout. So I kept groaning. A nurse was monitoring my Contractions and dilation. Also fetal wellbeing was check. The pain kept increasing till around 3pm and was the highest level of pain I ever felt in my life. But I wasn't shouting. Was just enduring. Around 4pm I felt the urge to push but the nurse kept telling me not to push. That was so unbearable. The Dr. Came around 4:30pm and said we will have to proceed with emergency C.S that I wasn't progressing. (Whatever that means). And that was where I almost lost it. But the nurse insisted I was progressing. So the Dr. Said he will be back by 6pm. That if I had not progressed then they will proceed with the emergency C.S. so the Dr. Left
The nurse insisted I was progressing and said I will most likely have delivered before 6pm. She left cos her shift was over.

After a while the Dr. Came back and insisted that we proceed with the C.S. at this point I figured the man had already made up hi mind to proceed. So I just told my husband to sign and we proceed. Entered the theatre by 7:30pm

My baby was delivered exactly 8:02pm, in perfect condition weighing 3.38kg.

Felt alot of pain first few days but was discharged from the hospital 2 days after the delivery.

In all I give thanks to almighty God. My baby is strong and healthy. I am very fine and recovering well.

God has been faithful.

P:S I have not been lactating well. Any advice on how to boost my breast milk supply will be well appreciated.

Hello.
Please can anyone who has gone through the process of inducing labour, share more light. I've read alot on Google but I'll like to hear personal experiences.

Heard it's alot more painful than natural labour. I was due on Wednesday 20th and Dr. Has me to come to the hospital today to be induced. Though I'm not scared at all. Cos I can't wait to meet my baby.

1. Please I'll like to ask. When is it advisable for one to stop working.

I'm presently 35weeks.

I still feel very fine. Tho slight backaches, stomach tightening and all that. But really mild. nothing serious.

I asked my doctor in 33weeks appointment he didn't give a definite answer.

Hubby is advising I stop by 37 weeks but I don't like to be at home without working(I enjoyed working)

What's the advice please?

2. Secondly the last scan I did was at 13weeks. I haven't been asked to do any other scan. I Brough it up with my friend who is also pregnant. And she said she has done a couple of scans...please is this normal?

I want to do my change my last name to my husband's name.

The name on my passport and every other documents is my last name.
Would this be a problem when applying for visa.( I will be applying for F1 while my husband and baby will be applying for F2)

Will it be a problem if I should change my last name to my husband's last name?

Eh! Don't try it. Pick your bag and proceed to the embassy ASAP! You have a perfect alibi for F2 and then... Do you wanna give birth to a Nigerian? My personal opinion: run to the embassy and leave before u born (if possible)... Oh, I just noticed that your EED is around March and Fall starts in August. Then you can take your time

Please don't defer. Your situation is a perfect one. Your husband will be there to help you care for your baby. Just concentrate on how to get funding that covers your dependant. I wish you the very best!

I just got my PhD admission US for Fall 2022. G.A offer-Full funding.

I got several admissions last year but couldn't go because I was planning my wedding. Deferred

I am pregnant at the moment and my due date is march/April by God's grace. I plan on going to the US with my baby and my husband.(F2)

I am waiting for my baby to be born before proceeding with i20, visa and the rest.

Please I will like to ask if there are any restrictions for taking a 3 or 4 months old baby to the US.

Should I defer my admission till spring 2023?

Please If you have anyone that has gone through something similar, I'll need your advice.

Hi, just keep sending them email from time to time that you're interested in funding. I applied to Bowling Green too but a different department last year. I got admitted in February but didn't get funding until June or so. So keep hoping and sending email

It depends on if someone declines their offer, how fast they decline it and what number you are on the wait list.

When I was waiting for admission in my school last year, the graduate director told me I was on the wait list and I got my acceptance letter the 3rd day.

Been wavering on whether I should make this post or not but I decided to, maybe I may get some help here or maybe it may be of help to someone here.

After I got my visa last month, I decided to tell my supervisor I had gotten the visa and then I went ahead to ask him if there was anything I could do to better prepare myself for work in his lab since I had two months left before my scheduled arrival date. See me where I am forming good student o I was probably hoping he will just tell me to brush up on certain concepts, or books, or maybe learn a programming language that was actively used in his lab that I didn't already know, or maybe he will just tell me to focus on my travel preparation . After about a week he replied, attached about 10 research papers and told me to peruse them and give him feedback. Some of them were even peoples complete Ph.D. thesis . Boy! see work I have given myself . I could not even complain because na me find trouble. I cannot come across as unserious even before I arrive so I really can't put it off now. So I have been trying to read the papers and make sense out of them and it has been a whole lot of work and has been very time-consuming. But I just really have to, to enable me write a reply to his email that will show that I really did read the papers he sent. I don't know if there is a lesson here or if I did the right thing, but I just thought I should share.





Been over a month you two made these posts, but I just wanted to say Thanks. I am taking your advice seriously. After I read your posts, I decided to start the practice by the beginning of June--after my visa interview. I had been planning to do so but had been procrastinating so your posts gingered me. I had to make a decision on Leetcode vs Hackerrank and I eventually decided to settle for Leetcode because I found the challenges on Hackerrank too verbose. I decided to do at least one problem a day starting from 1st of June, and so far so good, today is 16th of June and I checked my Leetcode account and I had successfully completed 16 problems. I am hoping to keep up the pace though I don't know how I can keep up when I resume school. Thanks once again.

On Travel

I was able to book a flight from Lagos to Dallas, Tx for about 385k on Jumia Travels. Same flight on Qatar airways website went for 460k. Anyone looking for flights should check them out, their service was really good. I have also heard good things about Expedia and Travelstart.
