IjeBos:
The Muslim vote is the most puzzling of all this.
Just shows how disinformation can make people make totally irrational choices.
The Palestinian matter is life and death in the short term and they will lose in the short term under Trump.
And in the longer term, by the people Trump has nominated, Muslims will continue to be demonized and lose more.

I can't imagine any other vote that is more against one's interest than this.
Just stunning.
Their vote wasn't because of disinformation o. Those ones wanted to teach Kamala and "genocide Joe" a lesson. Unfortunately for them, Trump will be paying the fees for that lesson because they are gonna learn. cheesy

Another crazy thing about this election was how the Jews voted. You would have expected Jewish Americans to vote for Orange Hitler because his base is much more pro-Israel than Harris' but 79% of Jewish Americans according to exit polls voted for Harris.

Yet the Muslims who have much to lose in a Trump presidency voted for Trump because of Gaza. I have never seen such a foolish group of people in my life. I saw articles last week about them complaining that Orange man is appointing too many pro-Israel folks. They should just wait till Netanyahu turns Gaza into a wasteland before June maybe we would get a genocide Trump chant like we got "genocide Joe"

Anyway, they taught Kamala a lesson. grin Trump will pay the fees for that lesson very soon.

I was correct when I said it here back in August that Democrats would be stupid not to be pro-Israel and continue the two-state solution approach. I remember telling Ijebos that Muslims were not allies of the Democratic party. I was right. The Jews who stood with Black people during the civil rights rallies came once again to prove their loyalty to the Democratic party despite stupid Leftists spreading anti-Semitism and poisoning the party with it. Brianna Wu was expecting an electoral blow back from Jewish voters but despite it all a majority of them still voted Democratic like Black women do. cheesy

@bold, there are so many of them. So many.

They were Googling “what’s a tariff?” after they already voted! Can’t make this up. Google saw a thousand percent increase in search on such related topics after the election including “can I change my vote?” In the states that Trump won .

They’re shocked they would be the ones to pay the proposed tariffs. That their special needs children’s school programs will be losing funding etc. That they voted against their own healthcare because the name Obama was attached to it.

That’s what hate does to the soul. Strips the owner of the ability to process information adequately. Because all this information was given to them in a timely manner but their hate wouldn’t let it penetrate.

After they voted and “won”, they are realizing they have to live with what it was they voted for. Then they’re turning around trying to learn what it was they actually voted for. In the beginning it didn’t matter as long as they got bragging rights.

Just like these ones on this forum, they are thinking of it as team sports. “My team won and your team lost na na na na” . You know like children. Meanwhile we will all be losing with Trump in office. These are prime examples of people who voted with emotions rather than logic.

The only information problem we have is lack of education and that’s why Trump is coming after education hard. With department of education gone, low income families won’t be able to get grants for college. So they’ll keep being dundees who get easily distracted with propaganda
These low information/mis/disinformation voters who are genuinely dumb shouldn't be voting at all.
Anyway all of us will be here as Trump destroys everything. The minorities who voted for him pissed me off because Harris did better than Biden and Hillary with White voters. Minorities sank her and the crazy thing is that they are the ones who are going to suffer more. There is a Nigerian on Twitter who became an American citizen last year or so whose business is immigration and he voted for the Orange criminal. I will be there to check up on his business by June to see how its faring. Are you seeing how people voted against their interest to spite people? Everyone is going to learn.

Those Free-Palestine voters who decided to be stupid in this election are going to learn so much next year. The Muslims will be deported too. They voted for Orange Hitler. I wish them the government that they voted for. I support Trump now, he never denied what he intended to do so I don't blame him at all if he does it. Infact he should.

When they report the so called "illegal immigrants" which is the code word for non-White people the Black Americans or should I say African American men will understand what they mean by "Black jobs."

I need Latinos deported they gotta learn that proximity to Whiteness is not going to save them and they are still non-Whites. How can you a Latino with an undocumented Abuela or Abuelo vote Republican because you are angry that Black people are centered in the Democratic party and you don't want immigrants coming in to take your benefits. @bold, it is not about messaging. The average American is a dumb bigot filled with racism and sexism. They heard the messaging loud and clear they opted for concentration camps instead of assistance to buy new homes. For once let American voters take responsibility for their actions. I hope Trump fulfils every of his campaign promises sometimes experience is the best teacher. America is doomed either way. The rest of the West need to look elsewhere for allyship.
IjeBos:
100%
This is what Democrats have to find a way to message. People don't seem to understand the underpinnings of what makes our society safe are under attack by Trump. Yes, some regulations can be onerous at times, but just like insurance, you don't value it until you need it.

His administration is going to attack every sector. From Food, to Health, to Transportation, to the Environment to Finance.
And as you've said we've seen what happens with lax regulation. Water wants to flow downwards, just as company safety does without regulation.
And in terms of regulations we aren't even where other countries are. And what gains we've made in the Biden admin are going to be rolled back.
I read an article about someone who recently voted Trump who didn't realize that ObamaCare was the Affordable Care Act. And when he heard the Trump would roll it back he realized he would lose his health care. He had cancer.

We have an information problem in the US. And with the breakdown of National media, I'm not sure how it gets fixed.

How can I prove he’s picking incompetent men?
It’s clear to me you guys are hellbent on not taking any fact into account when having these conversations. It’s looking like bad faith argument at this point rather than a sincere attempt at conversation. You could’ve simply looked this up.

For example he wants to pick RFK Junior for health secretary. This man has no health credentials, experience or scientific background.

RFK is against vaccines ( so we’ll go back to kids in iron lungs instead of thriving in schools). We’ll go back to fighting widespread measles and smallpox. These are things we thought we had overcome as a first world country now we have to start worrying about them again. Just because Trump doesn’t want a real scientist in that position who might challenge him if he tells people to inject bleach to cure Covid like he did during the pandemic.

Like I said before. Pls read up on some of these things before giving me the job of proving things to you.

You’re right. Time will tell. In the meantime, children will be dying of preventable diseases because of proud ignorant men.
Trump is going to be a huge disaster. Godspeed to all of you.

The people who support him would never want to be friends with people like him

The two state solution was impossible only after October 7th, not when Israel politicians declared they didn't want a 2 state solution?
And what is false about the map?
This map explains it better. That map has been disproved as propaganda because it fails to note that Jordan and Egypt once annexed lands and Lands gets annexed or taken during the victor in war time. It is frowned upon today but was the order of the day in past centuries. When Egypt and Jordan annexed parts of Palestine why didn't they give it independence? Of course not, because they never cared about Palestinian liberation.

It was not Hamas that made the two state solution difficult, it was hardliners on both sides. In fact Hamas took advantage of the hardliners to get power from more moderate PLO, just like Benjamin Nathanyahu (a hardliners on the Israeli side) took advantage of the hardliners to gain power.
Hamas and Likud Party are two sides of the same coin - hardliners not ready to concede any concession to the other.
Yitzhak Rabin and Yassar Afafat were more moderate and were negotiating a permanent peaceful solution to the conflict under Bill Clinton's administration. They signed the Oslo 1 and 2 accords,(for which both were awarded the Nobel Peace Price). But hardliners in both countries rejected the Oslo accords. Yitzhak Rabin was assassinated and Yassar Afafat died (suspected assassination), since then the chance of any peaceful solution died.
What I was referring to was October 7th. What Hamas did on October 7th has killed any idea of a two state solution at least for a decade. The person I quoted tried to blame Israel alone for why a two-state solution is not happening I only reminded him that Hamas contributed to it by what they did on October 7th.

Exactly. The genocide they accuse Israel of committing if they were in a better position they would have done it long ago. Afterall, Hamas' intent is to wipe out the Jewish State and they always start the attack. They are just projecting.

IMAliyu2:
It seems you didn't take correction.
A population and birthrates only falls when a genocide has been successfully carried out

I guess I'll repeat myself, The criteria used to determine a genocide are not based on it being successful. It's based on the intents and actions of the accused party, not their success.

Also another correction this conflict has been ongoing for a while, it didn't start with oct 7
Though Hamas being a group i would say fundamentally is built on genocidal intent towards jews aswell, just made things worse.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nakba
Read to understand who started what.
@bold, so you are saying that genocide isn't happening. You cannot claim something is genocide while at the same time claiming that it doesn't have to be successful. If you go to court with that argument you would lose. That was why the ICJ couldn't even do anything in January or rule it as a genocide. If I am lying show me where a genocide has not needed to be successful according to you has such a person or group been successfully prosecuted internationally.
I will not take your correction because when genocide occurs or if it is systemic for years as Palestinians and their sympathisers claim you will see the effect in the birthrate. That you say it has not been successfully carried out only proves that it is not a genocide but rather casualties of war and war crimes Israel could be guilty of. However, accusing them of genocide is an overreach and is not well rooted in facts.
Foreign Affairs › Re: American Politics Thread: Trump Is The 47th President! by AmazonTopaz(f): 6:18pm On Oct 11, 2024
IjeBos:
As to the criterion to genocide, IMAliyu2 wrote some good posts on that.
And I'll add that the UN believes that there are "reasonable grounds" to believe Israel is committing genocide.

But I'll take it from a different perspective.
What do you think Israel's long term objectives are?
And how does basically flattening Gaza fit into it?
In fact, what they are doing makes a 2 state solution even harder to accomplish. How can Israel can have a 2 state solution with a people after all that destruction and death? People have lost, mothers, fathers, siblings and children.
What are the goals of the settlers?

I think at a point we have to believe what some of Israeli politicians are saying and doing?
Look at some of the rhetoric
-Netanyahu brought up the Amalekites when referring to Palestine. He said You must remember what Amalek has done to you. The Amalekites were basically wiped out
-Their Defense minister said they were "fighting human animals".
-The Deputy Knesset speaker said on twitter their goal was "erasing the Gaza Strip from the face of the earth"
-Their Heritage Minister Amichay Eliyahu said they should drop a Nuclear Bomb on Gaza that there “no uninvolved civilians”

And lastly, just look at a map of Israel. Does it not look obvious what they are doing esp. in Gaza?
Hamas made a two state solution difficult to establish when they attacked on October 7th. Only a fool will think a two state solution would happen after Palestinians showed themselves that they will rather kill Jews than embrace statehood. If anyone made that difficult to establish it was Hamas and Palestinians have always rejected a two-state solution they themselves are making it difficult to establish.

How many times has this map been disproved as false? cheesy cheesy lipsrsealed lipsrsealed lipsrsealed

Again this matter would have been solved had Palestinians decided not to be unfortunate in 1948.

Your point still fails to prove genocide.
Foreign Affairs › Re: American Politics Thread: Trump Is The 47th President! by AmazonTopaz(f): 10:09am On Oct 11, 2024
IMAliyu2:
A group having a high birthrate doesn't mean a genocide isn't being carried out against them That's not the criteria used to determine that, its about the intent and actions of the acused party, not their success at it.

The accusation of genocide are levied on these groups.
"Specifically, Israel has committed three acts of genocide with the requisite intent: causing seriously serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group, deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part, and imposing measures intended to prevent birth within the group,”
@bold, point out where in history has a group which believes that it is facing systemic genocide continues to grow its population. Or is it that you don't know what genocide means? You don't recover in your population for decades. You want me to believe that Palestinians are somehow an exception to that rule? Are you aware that the genocide accusations against Israel didn't start with this war but only became amplified because of it?

As for what you quoted "bodily harm" is a feature of war you have still failed to prove how that bodily harm happens with the intent to erase them because of their race, ethnicity, nationality and religion. One of these 4 criterion if not all must be present to prove a genocide. It is a very lengthy accusation to prove because words do have meaning and genocide is not ever easy to establish.

I will also love to add, that people or groups who intend to commit genocide generally are the ones who start wars. Israel has never started a war against Palestinians.

Make una talk another thing.
Foreign Affairs › Re: American Politics Thread: Trump Is The 47th President! by AmazonTopaz(f): 8:53am On Oct 11, 2024
Many of the people shouting genocide don't even know anything about warfare. Thousands of people unfortunately dying doesn't translate to genocide. Study history folks. Either way this war needs to end but it will not because Palestinians love war and hate Jews.
