Our current support of Israel is no longer in the US best interest but we do it anyway. That is the reason the CIA, Pentagon and State Department employees were up in arms over what has been going on recently. They have a real fear of negative blowback.

Israel has mostly agreed to every peace plan that I know of the PLO under Arafat rejected every deal. And actually Israel is weakening the US right now. It is making our support of Ukraine hypocritical. It is also dividing supplies and armaments we could be giving Ukraine. It is driving our countries like IRan and Russia closer together.
