@Piedpiper: If you read my posts, you'd see that I have stated that the car IS NOT registered. The plates on it in the photo were just used to drive the vehicle down from Lagos. Make an offer or come inspect it. I still have the original shipping documents.

@leesha: Why not arrange to have this car test driven first? Then you'd be in a better position to offer what you think the vehicle is worth. Remember this is the AWD version. Even 2000 CRV costs more than you've offered.

@Vanenon: Nissan is not in any way inferior to Honda. Nissan have been in the SUV class long before Honda, and make better SUV's than Honda. The Pathfinder in question carries a 4.0L V6 engine while the Pilot has a 3.5L engine.
I however agree with you that this car is too expensive, but remember its a custom built version.

The SE is the sport edition while the SL is the luxury edition.
SE has stiffer suspensions, more responsive transmission, and has its engine tuned for higher speeds. (limiter allows the engine rev higher than the SL) Usually comes with fabric upholstery, but you can get leather upholstery as an option.
The SL is the luxury edition and is tuned for comfort. It will usually come fully loaded.

Very clean and very nice. This is exactly what I'm looking for, but need to sell off a Lexus RX300 first to be able to pay for this. I hope I can find something like this when I'm ready.

I have a 2007 model Honda Pilot registered and used in Nigeria. It was bought brand new and has only 30k miles Fabric interior and roof mounted DVD player. How much do you think this is worth?

I for one will not buy a luxury car if it sports anything short of a 3.0L V6 power plant.
Anyone who tells u that a I4 is better than a V6 doesn't know what he's talking about. Most top of the range models of every brand of mid sized sedan, people carriers and SUV's sport V6 engines. This is simply because these are usually more powerful than their I4 variants. V6 engines are usually more rugged and outlast the I4 engines. The only down side is that having more cylinders means consuming a little more fuel, but its worth the extra power you get. You weren't ripped off, I believe u are already enjoying your new car. don't let anyone spoil your joy. Have fun.
LX is the base model and usually comes with fabric seats and steel rims
EX is the executive model with leather seats, alloy rims etc.
The V6 comes is the top model with leather seats, alloy rims and in most cases, wood grain dashboard facia.

OP: You've had this vehicle since September, and this is December. Don't you think a further reduction in price will help your sale? If this vehicle is priced around N1.5m I bet someone will pick this car up before the end of December.

Have your transmission oil and filter changed. From your description of the problem, it appears that your ATF is worn and becomes extremely light when hot. This results in your fluid being less viscous which in turn causes a loss of power in the torque converter. You should also run a diagnostic as suggested by Patbrooks.

This is more like it. Prices like these for clean cars will make for easy sales.

Teddy, this is a 2005 model. Also its called a crew cab, not 2cabin. I just paid for a 2006 model which is arriving next month. If I had seen this, I wouldn't have bothered. Actually, I saw the title but didn't bother looking at the photos because it said 2004 model. Despite the fact that the seatbelt says 12-04, its actually a 2005 model. Inspired_m currently has a 2010 MB E350 but we're still in 2009.

I have painstakingly read through every post on this thread and now contribute my own 2-pence. I have never owned a Kia or Hyundai motor car, but have taken quite a lot of interest in them. While I must commend the Koreans on the developments in their auto industry, I still believe they are behind their Japanese and European counterparts.
When comparing cars, it is most ideal to select identical models. The OP has picked the Kia Cerato which costs about N2.9m for the top of the range model.
For this amount, I could get a 2007 Toyota corolla full option with less than 40,000km on the odometer. If you are someone who loves to drive and knows anything about automobiles, you'll agree with me that the corolla will offer better all round satisfaction than the cerato (forte in the US).
Don't get me wrong, I'm not a Kia hater, but I have keenly observed these vehicles since the Sorento received rave reviews in the US a few years ago. But I have discovered that the cheap price of these cars come at a price, QUALITY!!!
The body is built with very light steel. The bumpers are shoddy, and will not withstand a 10kmph crash. Take a look at most of the 2009 ceratos which are barely six months old, and you will find that their fog lamps are already dull due to water flooding. The plastic protectors of all the Optimas I see around these days are all hanging loose. If Kia could use such poor quality material for the very visible exterior, imagine what they put inside the engine that you can't easily see.
Bottom line, A Kia is cheap simply because it was built with cheap materials, and cheap materials mean, You get my point.
The Koreans haven't reached that point where they can give their Japanese competition a run for their money.

Great car choice Chelseabmw, the 2004 Nissan Maxima is a splendid automobile, but I will advice you not to buy the 2004 model because of certain production issues with that model. Instead, look for the 2005-2006 models, this way you will enjoy your maxima to the max!!!

Yes my dear friend, the maxima is a stronger car. I have used both cars. I had the 2002 camry, bought brand new and used as an official car. I found out that it wasn't as rugged as the maxima. I had the 1997 (Gen 4) maxima then. Gen 4 and Gen 5 maximas share the same parts from engine to suspension. But in 2002, the maxima got a bigger 3.5l engine due to the emergence of a 3.5l v6 option of the Altima. Maxima being Nissan's flagship could not be left behind, hence the upgraded engine.
My theory is that a 3.0l engine will always outlast and outperform a 2.2l engine.

@Edwin: Not everyone is greedy. I think the price is ok, considering its an LX model.
45,000km in 7 months is plausible if the vehicle in question was used for travelling.
I do about 5000km every month

@Original Poster: I have been a Maxima user and lover since the 3rd generation of maximas. The 2000-2003 maxima belongs to the 5th generation. I will not for any reason, trade a maxima for a camry, especially those before 2003. The maxima is more powerful, more durable, and more of a pleasure to drive than the Camry. Anybody who has driven both will tell you that. The maxima will please you immensely if you look out for the GLE model. This is the top of the range model and comes with supple leather interior, Premium Bose sound system (Amazing sound output) climate control A/c (Digital) electric seats, electric trunk release, wood grain facia and luxury/comfort suspension. You will pay through your nose for a camry that will offer you all these. (that is if you can find one) Remember also that even the V6 camry is 2.5l while all maximas are 3.0l (2000 year model) However, its not all rosy. The Camry is more fuel efficient, more reliable, and is easier to repair. The maxima is stronger and the parts are cheaper. However, you have to be careful about the electrical system of maxima. You have to watch the mechanics you give it to.
So with the above info, I think u can make a choice. Maxima 2000 price is in the range of N1m to N1.3m depending on mileage or how clean the car is. Camry 2000 is b/w N1m and N1.5m
