Miroslav klose: Take a look at the above image. I took a print out to ladipo and we got the bank 1 sensor 1 as shown in the above image. The sensor is normally plugged into the silencer from under the car, removing the passenger side front tyre. from the above pixs, it the sensor described as B1 S1 by the left hand side. Are you aware that most oxygen sensors have a lifespan of about 100,000 miles? You most likely have bought a used one that will likely fail very soon. Its like buying used spark plugs. |

nissparts: Actually, the 0731 and 0732 is most likely being caused by a bad TPS. In as much as I wouldn't want to argue with u over the above because I've seen some really weird stuff as regards automobile eleftronics, I'd like to let u know that my reply was based on repair procedures from the 2000-01 Nissan Maxima fault and service manuals. That being said, I'm here to learn. |

Miroslav klose: Thanks guys. Apart from the fuel consumption challenge and the steering issue, im got no major challenge with the car. it drives smooth, doesnt make any sound when the car gets into gallop or pot holes, doesnt overheat, everything functioning as default. When u say u have a fuel consumption challenge, can u give us an idea of your rate of consumption? when u fill the tank, reset the trip counter and tell us what the reading is by the time u get to half tank. Remember this is a 3-liter car and consumes more fuel than u might be used to. |
Autos / Re: The Maxima Thread by ambyzown(m): 8:12pm On Mar 29, 2012 |
Miroslav klose: P0180 represents a malfunction of the fuel temperature sensor or its electrical circuit. This sensor is usually located around the fuel pump/fuel level sensor inside the fuel tank. Access to this sensor is from under the rear passenger seats. Exercise caution when working around flammable materials. P0135 has already been addressed by nissparts. P0731 & P0732 are malfunctions relating to the 1st and 2nd gear functions respectively. These malfunctions are detected when the automatic transmission does not shift into 1st and 2nd gear positions as instructed by the transmission control module. This is not caused by electrical malfunctions (open or short circuits) but by mechanical malfunctions such as stuck control valve or improper solenoid valve operation. The likely causes are Shift solenoid valve B (since both 1st and 2nd gear function malfunctioned) The clutches or the hydraulic control circuit (check for blocked pipes) Ensure that you are giving your car to a competent mechanic!!! Tell him to check the above items only and nothing else. |

xhero: Hey guyz! This is an absolutely outstanding thread. I av a 92 model, i need a very good mechanic to take a look @ it for me.does anyone knw any gud mechanic around surulere? And does any1 ave any Idea hw much the engine will cost to purchase? I used the 1990 model (Gen 3) about 10 years ago and that car served me well. I believe the engine is the VG30. They probably go for between 60-80k depending on condition. I never had to change my engine throughout its use, but frequently had issues with the coil leads and injector nozzles. Not to forget, I had to change the gearbox twice. I have a good mechanic in Lagos, but he isn't in surulere. His workshop is in Gbagada. |

Miroslav klose: God'll deliver me from wasteful spending IJN. Miroslav: It seems you bought a lemon. So many issues with the car. Looks like you didn't check the car properly before purchase. Was it used in Nigeria or tokunbo? The steering problem could be as a result of a previously undisclosed accident which wasn't properly fixed. I'm assuming both left and right tires are uniform, in good shape and properly inflated. Have you aligned your tires? |

Wylout: Damn, those look really cool. But, will they illuminate the road as well as the OEM headlights? Won't wanna sacrifice safety for aesthetics. @nissparts: Thank you for your invaluable advice on this thread. Pls be patient with us if we don't immediately take ur advice, I don't know what it is that always makes one make the wrong decision even when the correct one is staring us in the face.... |

It is possible for one to fall into the lift shaft when it stops in-between floors. Remember that when the lift stops between floors half of the doorway will be blocked at the top. In a panic, the woman probably tried to climb out and lost her footing while landing and fell into the lift shaft. May her soul rest in peace. |

nissparts: Hi Miroslav, You're quite right, and most often, the sensor will also trigger a DTC. The MIL may not light up, but a scan will reveal a stored temporary code. |
Autos / Re: Nissan/infiniti Parts Store On Opebi Road by ambyzown(m): 12:17am On Mar 22, 2012 |
Miroslav, I once experienced this same issue, but in my case, it happened on the day I took delivery of the vehicle and was driving from Lagos to Benin. The car refused to shift above 2nd gear. When I stopped and popped the hood, I discovered ATF all over most parts of the gearbox. I allowed the car to cool and resumed my trip. The problem didn't resurface again until about a week later when I travelled again. It turned out that the ATF had been overfilled. I reduced it to the correct level, and all has been well. I haven't had that issue again. Check ur ATF level. |

Hi guys, how have u all been? I'm sorry for abandoning my own thread, but I've been inundated with work lately and couldn't be patient enough to search for this thread. I eventually got rid of my DTC P1320 by replacing coil number 4. Decided to listen to the advice u guys gave, and it paid off. Thanks all for ur contributions. Miroslav klose: Bookmarked. Welcome to the Maxima family, I hope u enjoy ur car. Post a photo of your baby when u get it. Cheers. |
Politics / Re: See Transcorp Hilton Food Invoice For Ms. Arunmah Oteh by ambyzown(m): 9:44am On Mar 21, 2012 |
djustice: Am I surprised at your response? Hell No. What else should I expect from an uncivilized, uncouth and benighted nonentity, seeking relevance through free online media such as this. Go take another look at the invoice, and you will find (if your incompetent brain can comprehend it) the following charges indicated there. 1. N78,700.00 for first course 2. N90,500.00 for second course 3. N91,400.00 for desserts If you add these up, you will surely get N245,500.00 Please go get a life. |
Politics / Re: See Transcorp Hilton Food Invoice For Ms. Arunmah Oteh by ambyzown(m): 7:58pm On Mar 20, 2012 |
Am I the only person that has noticed that the invoice was for a three course meal which actually totals at N245,500? You all seem to be fixated on the N91k for desserts and think that's the grand total. I could be wrong o. But if I'm not, then I think N245k for dinner is too much in a country where 60% of its citizens find it difficult affording a N200 meal. Also, for some reasons, you all seem to believe six people had dinner that day, that is an incorrect assumption. Four is a more likely number. (Notice the 4 Lobsters, 4 Salmon and 4 Creme Brulee?) |

soft-touch: You answered your question yourself. A battery drain is a software issue that can be corrected by a proper battery management app. But a defective battery is a hardware issue. Anyway I'm happy to hear that the signal problem on the iphone4 is no longer an issue. If the price is right, I might just opt for it eventually. Thanks all for your input. |

soft-touch: I would appreciate intelligent responses backed by facts. I'm aware the antenna issue on the iphone 4 was as a result of the position of the antenna in the design, which made it a hardware defect, this problem was overcome in the 4s with dual antennas. In the iphone 4 a simple phone casing solved the issue thus a court ruling in the US mandating Apple to provide free casings to all iphone 4 users. How could a software upgrade solve a hardware issue? Pls don't mind my stone age brain, its still running DOS @sun_temi: If I find a 3gs I like on ebay can I get proper unlocking done here? |

The issues I refer to are as follows 1. Having to cut my SIM as the iphone 4 uses a micro SIM 2. The issue of jailbreaking and unlocking using gevey 3. The problem of updating an unlocked phone |

Hi guys, I need some information from those of you who have been using iphones on this thread. I'm thinking of getting an iphone, but with the issues I've heard concerning the iphone4 and the S version kinda put me off, so instead want the 3gs. Basically what I want from the phone is a good music player as I have loads of digital media, an excellent camera, good PIM functions (ability to seamlessly synchronize with MS Outlook) and lastly, the ability to turn the phone into a wireless hotspot. (My android SG does it nicely) Do you think my choice of the iphone 3gs will meet my requirements? Thanks in anticipation of your replies. |

dmainboss: My brother don't mind these Nigerians who are so resistant to change. They were the ones who refused to accept fuel injected vehicles over carburetors, They said automatic cars were not good because you can't push start it, and front wheel drive was bad because of the CV joint, but today they've all dropped their Peugeot 504 for Toyotas and Nissans. Those of us with insight will always make the move to better technology and wait for the others to play catch up. |

Tinyemeka: Shows how very limited ur knowledge of phones is. Not all SE Xperia phones are android. The X1 and X2 run winmo. But she hardly uses it for anything besides making calls and very rare browsing sessions in-between. Why? Because she gets charged for every single online activity. Everybody including bb users get charged for every single online activity. Don't pay ur bis and see if u can do anything. Tell ur friend to buy a data bundle. Another guy was yabbing the BB for having 50% of its face covered by the QWERTY keyboard. I've played with someone's Android severally and yes it has powerful graphics, large keyboard-less touchscreen, e.t.c but what's the price of the phone? Now compare that with a BB of similar price and tell me which BB of 90k plus, still has a keyboard or drab performance? Ever heard of the Huawei Gaga smartphone? Etisalat sells it for under N20k. Name one brand new bb you can buy for that price. 1 Like |

SimonAndal: The same bold touch 9900 that bricks itself if u mistakenly overcharge it? or the one that hardly gives u 6hours of constant use? Anyway your decision to use your galaxy nexus as a fashion statement is purely ur choice. By the way why are we arguing about physical and virtual keypads? These features are common to both android and blackberry. SimonAndal: Good for you, but dowloading heavy data isn't my thing so don't need a bb. One of the main attactions of BB OS is data compression. One of the main attractions of the Android OS is its customization. There are several other attractions, pick what works for u. 1 Like |
Phones / Re: Blackberry Vs Android by ambyzown(m): 11:44pm On Mar 02, 2012 |
SimonAndal: That unlimited data you talk about only seem so due to blackberry's data compression technology. But as we all know, when u compress data, you lose quality. Try watching you-tube videos on a playbook hooked to a BIS enabled phone, then watch the same video on an android tablet or ipad. The same thing happens when you view a web page via opera mini as compared to a full web browser. Bottom line, N3k per month for a 1gb data on an android device is adequate. However, I use the N7,500 6GB plan on my android device. When I get home, I turn on my wireless hotspot on the device and share the internet with my laptop and other devices. At the end of the month I usually still have like 500mb left. |
Phones / Re: Blackberry Vs Android by ambyzown(m): 11:27pm On Mar 02, 2012 |
SimonAndal:I will advice you to go try out a touchscreen android smartphone with word prediction and word completion before u make such claims. I think blackberry users in Nigeria need to borrow and use an android phone for a day to really understand what we're talking about. RIM is losing market share daily for a reason. They even had to integrate android into OS 10 so as to allow users run android apps. What does that tell u? Android is better than Blackberry QED. However, if "pinging" is ur thing, please stay with blackberry. |

If you can make out time, go to Ladipo market yourself, take ur old traverse link. If u post ur phone number, I can text u my part seller's number. Call him and ask him for the part. |

Hi Wylout, I really don't know what you refer to as Lower control arm, but I have two diagrams that show the front axle of the 5th Gen Maxima. The first diagram shows the stabilizer bushings. if this is what you mean, then yes they are replaceable. The second diagram shows the Traverse link. if this is what you mean, then sorry, it cannot be replaced. Some mechanics may convince you that it can be replaced, but DO NOT waste your money. Buy a replacement. It costs about N13,000 for the pair (Tokunbo) 1 Share

Akainzo: Ok, maybe I shouldn't have used the tab for comparison here. How about the Galaxy S? Its battery is 1650mA and still manages to give 2 days on a single charge. I was responding to co ogar's claim that no smartphone has a bad battery. I don't see the essence of buying a smartphone whose main attraction is multitasking, only to have all your useful apps shut down just to save battery. I believe my phone should adapt to fit my lifestyle and not vice versa. The 9780 has a poorer battery life compared to other phones in its category, period. You are free to confirm this online. coogar: Just like they recalled and replaced the Storm 9500? |
Phones / Re: What Is The Difference Between Bb9700/9900 by ambyzown(m): 8:33pm On Feb 23, 2012 |
coogar: Are you serious? You evidently don't know your onions when it comes to phones. I use a Samsung GT P1000 that runs Android 2.3.3 My brightness setting (on a 7inch screen) is on auto which means its at 100% whenever I'm in bright places. My bluetooth is on continuously as it is connected to my bt earpiece, I have whatsapp, IM+, Avast antivirus, email, facebook, linkedin and at least 10 other background apps working throughout. I currently have 13 tabs open on my web browser as I type this post. My GPS is permanently on and still get over a day's worth of battery life. How can you defend the 9780 that hardly gives a full day's use even when 80% of the phone's features are not in use? Accept the fact that RIM made a poor phone in the 9780. One more thing, please disabuse your mind of the fact that phone manufacturers don't make bad phones because they always do. That's why we get firmware updates to correct phone OS issues. The hardware issues, well you just have to live with that. If even Apple could make the iphone 4 which had the antennaegate issue, and Nokia made the N97 mini with shitty battery and performance, every manufacturer can make mistakes. |
