Autos / Re: 2000 Nissan Maxima For Sale! by ambyzown(m): 9:56pm On Mar 31, 2011
Nice car dude, but this is definitely not a 2003 model. Its more likely to be a 2001 model. Happy sales though.

Why are you all picking on sultaan? He has merely raised a vital point from the photo u uploaded. It clearly shows the engine idling at 1000rpm. Cars normally idle at between 500-700rpm but yours shows 1000rpm. What I expected u to say is probably that the car was just started before the photo was taken which would be normal for a cold engine. As for the poster who says he has inspected the vehicle and is raising the money, why are u wasting time telling us how good the car is? go pay for it before someone else does. Davids202 I think your comments are rather unwarranted, Sultaan is a well respected contributor to this forum.
Autos / Re: Toyota Sienna 1999/2000 Mode, Cooling Systeml by ambyzown(m): 1:52pm On Mar 19, 2011
This is perfectly normal, as the radiator fan is thermally operated which means that the fan remains off until the normal engine operating temperature is attained. The fan comes on automatically to keep the engine operating at this temperature. Please leave your engine cooling system as it. Read your owner's manual when in doubt about your automobile.

Autos / Re: Nissan Maxima '98 Model by ambyzown(m): 8:33pm On Sep 02, 2010
@Mide: This is a 1995-1996 model and not 1998 as you have claimed. Its also GXE (Base model) If you get an offer in the region of 650-700k take it.
Autos / Re: Neat Maxima For Sale @ Affordable Price by ambyzown(m): 3:59pm On Sep 01, 2010
Now you've posted photos of a 4 cylinder Toyota engine. Is the engine in this vehicle so bad that you cannot show it to us? I'm interested in this vehicle, but you are not encouraging me. Is it SE or GLE? What is the mileage? Show photos of the interior too.
Autos / Re: Neat Maxima For Sale @ Affordable Price by ambyzown(m): 10:30pm On Aug 30, 2010
@OP: Conflicting information always raises a red flag on open boards such as these. One tends to immediately suspect that dishonesty is at play.
The automobile photos you have posted for sale show the body of a Gen4 maxima (1995-1999) while the engine shows that of a Gen3 maxima (1989-1994)
So what car do you have for sale?
Phones / Re: Mtn Link Tariffs by ambyzown(m): 10:32pm On Aug 24, 2010
You guys don't even know the half of it.
The so called 50mins for on-net calls on the Funlink package is billed per-minute. Which means that if u call a number for only 2 seconds, u still get billed for a full minute. (Per minute billing re-loaded) The 60mb bundled data evaporates like petrol in the wind. No more family and friends.
But the most annoying aspect is that if u use up your 50mins or 60mb data before the end of the month, you cannot load another N1500 and get a fresh package. u are forced to make calls at 53k per second ON-NET!!!
It is cheaper for me call an MTN number with my Etisalat line than with MTN.
Kudos MTN!

Have always been, and will always remain an SE fan. My past SE phones are: A2628, T10, T28, R380S, T68i, T610i, K750i, P910i, W810i, M600i and P1i.
Still using the P1i, and I must say that it beats my Nokia N97mini hands down. Planning to replace my N97mini with the SE Vivaz Pro soon.

Autos / Re: Don't Dump That Keyless Remote! by ambyzown(m): 11:52pm On Jul 22, 2010
Its a Volkswagen Parati, 2004 model. I'll text the VIN to your phone in the morning.
Here's a photo of the car.

Autos / Re: Don't Dump That Keyless Remote! by ambyzown(m): 10:51pm On Jul 22, 2010
I'd like to get a quote on how much it would cost to repair or replace this transponder key for Volkswagen.
It stopped working sometime ago and my mechanic thought he had a degree in electronics and proceeded to make it worse.

I have attached pictures of the circuit board showing three missing components. The one marked by the red arrow is in my possession.
Let me know if it can be fixed. Pardon the poor quality photos, they are phone camera shots.

Post your reply here and I will call you.

Autos / Re: Sold..1 Month Registered 2003 Nissan Maxima Reduced to 1.1m naira by ambyzown(m): 11:53pm On Jul 15, 2010
The problem with most Nigerians is that they make comments without proper facts. This is a 2003 Nissan Maxima Sport Edition, not 2000 or 2001. Imagine someone comparing this vehicle with a 2001 Toyota Camry. This has a 3.5L engine as opposed to the puny 2.2L in the Camry. The premium audio alone in the Maxima will blow the camry away.
OP you have a lovely car here, don't let anyone tell you otherwise. I would buy this car without hesitation if I had the cash to spare.

Autos / Re: My Birthday Splash For Nissan Maxima 01 For 970k: Kia Picanto 700k by ambyzown(m): 10:19pm On Jul 11, 2010
The Maxima you have posted is not a 2003 model. Its most likely to be either 2000 or 2001. The 3.0L VQDE engine (Which you have clearly posted here) was discontinued in 2002 while a 3.5L engine was installed in 2002-2003 models of the Gen 5 Maximas. This 3.5L engine was also used in the Gen 6 models. Please amend your Topic.
Phones / Re: My Top 10 Smartphones For 2010: For Now. by ambyzown(m): 3:52am On Jun 29, 2010
Azanor:

Do we always have to bring this "I hate Blackberry vs I love Blackberry" arguments to every thread that the Phone is mentioned in? It's becoming a little tiring to open a topic and once a person mentions that he loves blackberry another comes up with a contrary opinion and we start all over again. It's like some people search Nairaland for any thread mentioning Blackberry and just comment on all of them. Even me that I don't like them, I'm beginning to pity them.
wink
Anyways, my top ten smartphones for 2010 (both released and unreleased) are in no particular order:
1.     Nokia N8
2.     Motorola Droid X
3.     Dell Streak
4.     Dell Lightning
5.     HTC Incredible
6.     HTC EVO 4G
7.     Nokia N900
8.     Google Nexus One
9.     Nokia E72
10.   iPhone 4 (grudgingly qualifies)

Now, thats a list, Though I would remove the Nokia N8 and replace it with an Xperia X10.
If BB users are honest to themselves, they'll agree that they bought their devices simply to join in the "happening" clique. Most of them pay N5000 monthly charges and use it only for BB chat. Even the most basic internet enabled nokia will give you messaging for 20% of that cost. I used the BB storm for over three months and went back to my SE P1i.

Nokia N97mini users in the house, am I missing something? My mini sucks big time. Its slow, ill tempered and has poor build quality. I've been using it for 5 months now, and the following are the issues I have with it.
1. Poor battery life; It cannot last a full day of average use (playing music, using WiFi, 3G, Navigation etc)
2. Very poor memory: I cannot run more than 4 applications at a time without getting a memory full error. (My P1 handles 18 apps without stress)
3. It crashes at least twice a day
4. Its sssssssssssssslow
5. I hate how my videos and photos are bundled together in the same place.
6. For a phone that cost me over N70k, I didn't expect the camera keys to start fading in under six months. The paint on the plastic is already chipping.

I installed spb shell on it and had to turn off the auto-rotate function, because each time I turned the phone, spb shell would crash as the 433mhz processor was too feeble to handle it.

Those who say their N97 is "Da bomb" please enlighten me.

Phones / Re: Help Me Choose: Nokia N97 Mini Or Nokia X6 (i Must Buy One) by ambyzown(m): 11:16pm On May 25, 2010
Buy the N97 mini, you'll appreciate the full qwerty keypad over the virtual one of the X6. Both phones are almost identical. I chose the N97 over the X6 too after trying both out for a few hours. But if you can afford the extra 15-20k then go for the Sony Ericsson Satio or the Samsung i8910HD as these have more processing power and less lag. Memorywise, these are more stable. I have SPB mobile shell running on my N97 mini, but it crashes too frequently, while my friend's i8910 runs it smoothly.

Bros no spoil market now. We should learn to be diplomatic in our comments.

Eros, I'm advising the original poster based on my experience with a similar vehicle. I priced mine for N2.6m and had the car unsold for almost a year.
See Link http://www.nairalist.com/edo/autos/1
I eventually reduced the price to N1.5m before I could get a sale. Mine even had Nakamichi audio system and a roof mounted DVD player.
I have absolutely no intention to ruin someone else's sale.
Autos / Re: 2001 Lexus Rx300 Suv 2.5m KEYLESS/REMOTE ENTRY by ambyzown(m): 5:58pm On May 15, 2010
Very clean ride, but quite pricey.
I sold a similar vehicle for N1.5m on this forum early this year.
