FamilyBuhari Suspends Babalakin As Unilag Pro Chancellor, Sets Up Visitation Panel by AmeLonRo(op): 1:20am On Aug 22, 2020
https://thenewkokoro.com/2020/08/21/buhari-suspends-babalakin-as-unilag-pro-chancellor-sets-up-visitation-panel/

The best decision made by President in 2 years!

That’s the way someone put the handling of the Unilag VC and Pro chancellor issue last night.

The news of the decision of the Federal Government of Nigeria to set aside all warring factions.

The principal warlords in Unilag imbroglio are to step aside until after the visitation panel set up by the Visitor, President Muhammadu Buhari has completed its assignment.

Also, cheering to the academic community is the fact that the Senate of Unilag will now decide who will act as the Vice Chancellor.

As an outsider, I guess thats what ASUU wants and that’s what is in the law for selection of a VC.

This will go a long way to allow peace to reign on the campus of the University of Lagos.

Looking at it critically from another angle, why will the Vice chancellor and pro chancellor be at loggerheads?

It ought no to be and should be avoided in all other Universities.

Honour should be given to whom it is due and respect should also be given to whom it is due.

Respect is reciprocal they say.

The visitation panel is to complete its assignment in 2 weeks time.

Fingers crossed till after 2 weeks.

Will keep you posted on the decision of the senate on who will act as the VC.

FamilyWhat Aileth Nigerian University Educational System? What? by AmeLonRo(op): 7:47am On Aug 14, 2020
https://thenewkokoro.com/2020/08/14/what-aileth-nigerian-educational-system/

This is a big question on every lip.
Nigerians in diaspora and well thinking ones at home are bothered for Nigeria.

Is Nigeria and her people bothered for themselves?

Foreigners know we can do it and are surprised why we are not doing it.

For many years, many countries the world over have devoted 26% of their income or budget to education per year and some are increasing it.

But Nigeria is far from 26%.

Some countries survive based only on their human capital that have been well developed.

Just 26% for human capital development at the highest points.
So, what is Nigeria budget for informal education if formal education is suffering in the hands of Nigerians?

University lecturers are weeping for more funds to do what they know how to do best.

But again Nigeria wont respond!

What is wrong Nigeria?

Nigeria told me she responded ooo! Ehhhnnn!

So what happened?

Lets check here and there.

Our young ones are interrupted frequently in their legitimate yearnings for higher education.
Yes the interruption was caued by COVID-19.

But not just COVID-19 it was also caused by university workers weeping and strikes.

Yet Nigeria keep denying and says all is well.

But the workers said all is not well!

I need to talk to Nigeria about all these.

Wait ooooo!!!
Who are these university workers sef?

Are they for Nigeria?

Are they Nigerians?

I hear yes as answer.

Do they know how things are done in Asian Universities?

Have these Nigerian University workers been to London, USA, France, Italy, South Africa, Uganda, Morocco?

Do they know how Universities operate in those places for comparison?
Yes is the answer I got.

I was also informed that Nigerian University workers are the least paid University staff in the world!

I will find out…

Ahhhgggg!!!

I must talk to Nigeria to improve things.
I will try all I can to see Nigeria on these.

If it takes sleeping in the corridors of Nigeria for a long time to see Nigeria I will do it.

Nigeria, arise and shine.

Nigeria hear the clarion call.

Nigeria we must see together for brainstorming.

i know if Nigeria knows Nigeria will do better.

I trust Nigeria.

I love Nigeria.

I like Nigeria.

(All the I’s herein means YOU)
The giant of Africa.

Nigeria can do the right.

Nigeria will do the right.

Nigeria will take action for good of all.

Be calm. Be calm. Be calm

Nigeria, o my wonderful Nigeria.
FamilyPeople Are Different And The Success Formula For One May Not Work For Another by AmeLonRo(op): 7:37am On Aug 14, 2020
We may do the same thing and not likely to get the same result.

Success principles are universal.

Any one that follow and apply them will succeed.

The issue however, is that there are some places some people do well and then others do not do well.

At the same time some people are not doing well in some places that are good.

The reason is because people are different.

Boast not thyself of tomorrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.
2 Let another man praise thee, and not thine own mouth; a stranger, and not thine own lips.
3 A stone is heavy, and the sand weighty; but a fool's wrath is heavier than them both.
4 Wrath is cruel, and anger is outrageous; but who is able to stand before envy?
5 Open rebuke is better than secret love.
6 Faithful are the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful.
7 The full soul loatheth an honeycomb; but to the hungry soul every bitter thing is sweet.
8 As a bird that wandereth from her nest, so is a man that wandereth from his place.
9 Ointment and perfume rejoice the heart: so doth the sweetness of a man's friend by hearty counsel.
10 Thine own friend, and thy father's friend, forsake not; neither go into thy brother's house in the day of thy calamity: for better is a neighbour that is near than a brother far off.
11 My son, be wise, and make my heart glad, that I may answer him that reproacheth me.
12 A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself; but the simple pass on, and are punished.
13 Take his garment that is surety for a stranger, and take a pledge of him for a strange woman.
14 He that blesseth his friend with a loud voice, rising early in the morning, it shall be counted a curse to him.
15 A continual dropping in a very rainy day and a contentious woman are alike.
16 Whosoever hideth her hideth the wind, and the ointment of his right hand, which bewrayeth itself.
17 Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.
18 Whoso keepeth the fig tree shall eat the fruit thereof: so he that waiteth on his master shall be honoured.
19 As in water face answereth to face, so the heart of man to man.
20 Hell and destruction are never full; so the eyes of man are never satisfied.
21 As the fining pot for silver, and the furnace for gold; so is a man to his praise.
22 Though thou shouldest bray a fool in a mortar among wheat with a pestle, yet will not his foolishness depart from him.
23 Be thou diligent to know the state of thy flocks, and look well to thy herds.
24 For riches are not for ever: and doth the crown endure to every generation?
25 The hay appeareth, and the tender grass sheweth itself, and herbs of the mountains are gathered.
26 The lambs are for thy clothing, and the goats are the price of the field.
27 And thou shalt have goats' milk enough for thy food, for the food of thy household, and for the maintenance for thy maidens.

Honesty can bring a lot of capital to you for business, etc.

This is because you have proven to be trustworthy and a force to reckon with in all ramifications.

As snow in summer, and as rain in harvest, so honour is not seemly for a fool.
2 As the bird by wandering, as the swallow by flying, so the curse causeless shall not come.
3 A whip for the horse, a bridle for the ass, and a rod for the fool's back.
4 Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest thou also be like unto him.
5 Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own conceit.
6 He that sendeth a message by the hand of a fool cutteth off the feet, and drinketh damage.
7 The legs of the lame are not equal: so is a parable in the mouth of fools.
8 As he that bindeth a stone in a sling, so is he that giveth honour to a fool.
9 As a thorn goeth up into the hand of a drunkard, so is a parable in the mouths of fools.
10 The great God that formed all things both rewardeth the fool, and rewardeth transgressors.
11 As a dog returneth to his vomit, so a fool returneth to his folly.
12 Seest thou a man wise in his own conceit? there is more hope of a fool than of him.
13 The slothful man saith, There is a lion in the way; a lion is in the streets.
14 As the door turneth upon his hinges, so doth the slothful upon his bed.
15 The slothful hideth his hand in his bosom; it grieveth him to bring it again to his mouth.
16 The sluggard is wiser in his own conceit than seven men that can render a reason.
17 He that passeth by, and meddleth with strife belonging not to him, is like one that taketh a dog by the ears.
18 As a mad man who casteth firebrands, arrows, and death,
19 So is the man that deceiveth his neighbour, and saith, Am not I in sport?
20 Where no wood is, there the fire goeth out: so where there is no talebearer, the strife ceaseth.
21 As coals are to burning coals, and wood to fire; so is a contentious man to kindle strife.
22 The words of a talebearer are as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly.
23 Burning lips and a wicked heart are like a potsherd covered with silver dross.
24 He that hateth dissembleth with his lips, and layeth up deceit within him;
25 When he speaketh fair, believe him not: for there are seven abominations in his heart.
26 Whose hatred is covered by deceit, his wickedness shall be shewed before the whole congregation.
27 Whoso diggeth a pit shall fall therein: and he that rolleth a stone, it will return upon him.
28 A lying tongue hateth those that are afflicted by it; and a flattering mouth worketh ruin.

BusinessCount To Ten And Win by AmeLonRo(op): 9:00am On Jul 29, 2020

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sTUlkmvptdM

Hello, today we are talking about “count to 10 and win” and we are starting right now.

Welcome back.

“count to 10 and win”

This title was taken from one of the chapters of the book written by Robert Schuller. Tough time never last but tough people do is the book title itself. In that chapter where Robert Schuller wrote about count to 10 and win, he was saying that every problem had a solution. The solution to every problem can be obtained by getting a sheet of paper and listing 10 possible ways to solve any problem you have.

Robert Sculler himself said he used that problem-solving formula when he was sent to start a church with nothing at hand. He said he got to the city he was sent to with his wife and daughter in his car. They needed a venue to start a church. Where was that going to be? He did not have much money. He got a piece of paper and wrote down 10 options that he had. By the time he did that he explored the options one after the other and he got the solution to his problem.

No matter the problem that you face today just count to 10 and win. The winning streak is with you. Its in your hands. If and only if you can rite down 10 ways out you will find a way out. The problem of schooling at this time can be solved by government by counting to 10 and winning. Write down 10 ways people can go to school and still maintain social distance.

The problem of hunger and that of national growth and development can be solved in similar ways. Write 10 ways it can be done. Write down 10 options that you have. Before you reach the 10 option you would have found a way out. I hope all I have said is clear to you. Drop your comments below please.

The question now is, are you going to count to 10 and win or not? You should count.

I know but we need to encourage them to.
This is because they are missing out of so much great information.
The olden thing was that write anything you want to hide from a black man in a book.
Today, just hide it in a Youtube video that is not funny..... huh

AhmedEmeka:
You are right, most great Youtubers still ask people to subscribe because of the reason you mentioned above, but I believe that you first have to be really passionate about the information you are uploading and not mainly there to monetize; because that would really leave you frustrated.

And also take into cognizance your targeted country; we both know that a good number of Nigerians don't really like watching videos online. Nairaland members worst self.
CelebritiesRe: Misconceptions People Have About Youtube by AmeLonRo(op): 10:32pm On Jul 26, 2020
You are correct AhmedEmeka.
Some have great content and don't get subscribers because they did not ask for it.
Some people that love some channels don't know they ought to subscribe.

AhmedEmeka:
I can't speak for everybody but I don't believe I am doing any youtuber a favour by subscribing to his channel.

Once you have a good channel you don't need to tell anybody to subscribe to your channel. Have a good content and people would subscribe to it.

Hello, today we are talking about “misconceptions people have about YouTube” and we are starting right now.

Welcome back. Praise is my name. Remember to subscribe to my YouTube channel.

“misconceptions people have about YouTube”

Some people have misconceptions about YouTube videos, channels and Youtubers. One of such misconceptions is that you are doing the Youtuber a favour by watching his/her video. That is not true. You are the one that need the information that the Youtuber placed on YouTube and you went for it.

So, you are helping yourself for free by watching YouTube videos.

Some believe that the data they expend on YouTube goes to the Youtuber. That is not true also. The Youtuber also uses data to upload his/her videos.

In getting this good video you are watching now; I spent a lot of money in developing all it takes to make it the way it is. Things are better now even though we are still looking for supporters. It takes time and effort to bring out a single video.

Some people feel they are doing the Youtuber a favour by subscribing to his/her channel. Again, that is not correct. When you subscribe, the Youtubers new content/video comes to you first when it is uploaded. This enables you to benefit from the new information shared.

These are a few misconceptions for now. I will continue some other time. But let me say the following. If you are looking for short cut to success, forget YouTube. If you are looking for quick money don’t become a Youtuber. If you can’t be disciplined to bring up content weekly, please don’t dabble into You tube.

If you don’t have what you want to say, forget about You Tube. Youtubing is a form of community service. It’s a form of free service to help people and the society. I hope you are clear now.

Remember to subscribe to my Youtube channel.
Bye.
EducationWhy Africans May Be Left Behind On The Benefits On Youtube And The Internet by AmeLonRo(op): 11:35am On Jul 23, 2020
Africans struggle to access the internet. many benefits exist on the internet. many Africans are poor. despite their poverty, some manage to subscribe but what do they hook up to online?

They hook up to pornograpghy, music, drama, and the like. they do not listen to books that they have not read that will move them forward, they do not listen to motivational talks and how to videos.

They do not watch useful materials but are busy with the ones that are not useful. These and many more reasons are what I spoke about in this video.
