The current fiscal year ends in September 2022, so there's just 1 more VB to be released (Sept. 2022).

I am hopeful that from the start of a new year (Oct. 2022 - Sept. 2023), we'll start seeing good movements across all the categories & the monthly VBs will be 'useful' again.

Let's all remain hopeful. I pray the US embassy here in 9ja get to open fully and have enough staff to handle things. Waiting continues..we can't do "aluta" on this matter.

Elite citizen?? Don't know what that is. To qualify for an immigrant visa one has got to be filled for by: parents, siblings, husband/wife, fiancé/fiancée and children above 21yrs can file for their parents. That's the much I know about who can initiate the filling process.
"Speed up" you say? ...that phrase isn't used in anything concerning immigrant visa presently (lol). First thing first.. get the person to start the process for you today. As for the death part; nobody is promised a tomorrow, do what you can now that you are here today.

The options through filing is to be patient and wait till your Date becomes current.
If I get you correctly, you want to get a B2 visa and travel then see how the filing things goes?
The filing takes a bit of time to even get approved. A B1B2 can't keep you there legally if you want to wait out the process while In the US.

Good. It will take at at least 12-15 years to go through. The backlog presently is crazy and the processing is very slow. Don't let that stop you from getting filed for. Anything can happen. All the best.

Nah wa oooo the US embassy in Lagos is short of staff could you believe that their are only two consular conducting interviews . When I called NVC the lady that spoke to me confirmed it not until when my friend that got a visiting said that the consular are not many conducting they interview. Wahala dey for who dey ride bicycle.

With the new covid 19 variant about now, they will probably reduce it just one consular office conducting the interviews. Its not funny anymore.

It's no longer like that. They have removed the prioritization scheme. We are all equal now In the eyes of nvc and the consulate. The news came out sometime last week.
Now Nvc and the embassies have the discretion of who to send out Interview letters to.
Both family based category and immediate relatives stand an equal chance of getting an Interview now,based on their DQ date

Hi. I don't suppose its the same wait time as I mentioned. However, all categories will experience longer wait times; especially the lower tiers of family based visas.

The whole thing is just somehow now... even when you are current; you might get at least 3 (three) back to back 60 days wait. It's all clogged up. They way I see it, if you are DQ'd you have at least a year and half/2years to be called up, all depending on how fast they work on all fronts.
Na to take patience dey Gym as time dey go.
"Previlege" matter, person voice no dey to loud.
Lets all keep hope alive. It will happen for all.
