Thank you Ma. Faithyyyyy: For those who have waited three or 4 months especially April and May applicants you can do the following :
1. Send Nairobi office emails at least twice a week with the topic URGENT UPDATE ON STUDY PERMIT . then enquire about your application status reminding them your classes will be starting soon for those in September intake. For those deferring till January still go ahead and enquire about your application status.
2. When sending emails, do it early like 6am so it's amongst the first emails they get and do it Mondays and Thursdays so you keep reminding them. The worst you will get is an approval or a refusal so you know what to do next.
3. Always attach additional supporting documents i.e school fees payment receipts, enrollment forms or anything to help your case be processed faster.
4. Be very polite in your emails infact thank them for the wonderful job they are doing in ensuring students get their study permits on time .
Nairobi office does respond and if you keep at it, you will get attended to faster than waiting in the pool of thousands of Candidates. For every time we sent an email we got updates either on the account or via email that the application was under active review and we would be advised on the next steps soon. eligibility started after email was sent, medical request came within an hour of sending email, ppr came within one hour of sending the third e medical and email enquiry so I know it works
I look forward to hearing lots of positive news from those who begin this process on Monday through Thursday. |

I think you only need it if you'll be transiting in two Schengen Countries. But if it's just Amsterdam, then it shouldn't be a problem. Meanwhile, make sure your itinerary doesn't take you through the US as well. I stand to be corrected though. Doree: Erm... please gurus, do I need a transit visa through Amsterdam?
Who else is travelling soon and has found a cheap flight, biko link me in. |

Congratulations.... But really, this doesn't make any sense at all. Is it your fault that a decision wasn't made on time. It's like this schools are indirectly extorting students money. I wish there's a legal action you an take on this seriously. Very painful. Chipo14: So after 6 months and 5 days my wait finally ended with a PPR.
I got the correspondence letter yesterday and wanted to rush to post it only to see people getting correspondence letters and still getting refused. So I calmed down to see the final decision.
I got the mail exactly 6:22 am and I froze. It came with mixed feelings because my school has withdraw me from the program and my tuition deposit of $2000 cad forfeited. It would have been refunded if I got refused. |

Wow, thank you Makano. makano: Hello Aminat2000
Most times one of the reasons why IRCC do not reply messages is because such applications has not passed the processing time..
Has your application passed the processing time? If YES, do the below instructions
From my personal experience and also from the experience of applicants I have worked with, they tend to reply to emails more..
But you have to send like 5 - 10 emails everyday until you get a positive response from them..
When u do like 10 emails everyday in a week and no response, increase it to 15 emails in a day the next week..
You will definitely get a response...
PEACE |

I think all these updates actually depends on the officer in charge of your file. I guess some decides to update their clients profile while others don't. So, your eligibility might have started but not updated. All in all, eligibility starting is not the issue, getting PPR is the main thing. May God help us. I submitted IELTS and MBS with my application though. What about you? atiteb4: mine isn't reading |

Ye! It's the grammar for me aswear. Congrats bro! To actually think we are both going to thesame school though. I'm also fully funded. May God locate me too. But bro, with this your English hehn, I hope you'll run for international students president. I will root for you with my full chest. [quote author=Uzomachukwuu post=102961610]Long Post Alert: Talk about being happy, today is one of the happiest days of my past one year. A year and six days after my first visa application (AOR June 16, 2020), I finally got PPR on my second application (AOR: Feb 26). This has been a very tiresome journey. Initially, I thought that applying for PhD admission would be the most challenging part of it all, but I never knew that that was the easiest part really. Between Feb and March 2020, I got admission and funding offers from U of Manitoba, Western, and USask. Opted for USask. Submitted my first visa application on June 16, 2020, when I knew almost nothing about the Canadian visa application process. I hadn't even discovered Nairaland then. I committed one error, that of submitting only my funding offer letter as proof of fund, without submitting a bank statement. Sadly, that first application was refused based on personal assets and financial status. |
