Politics › Osun Government Declares Monday Work Free Day For Continuous Voters Registration by Aminat508(op): 4:01pm On Apr 12, 2018 |
@AMILOADED The State Govt of Osun has declared Monday April 16, a Work Free Day for the formal and informal workers of the state.
Amiloaded gathered that the essence of the public holiday is to provide ample opportunity for eligible voters to participate in the ongoing Continuous Voters Registration (CVR) exercise by registering with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and as well collect their Permanent Voter Card (PVC) for them to be able to perform their civic responsibility when election comes Voter Registration and collection of permanent Voters card (PVC) are important and strategic to electoral process and has capability of strengthening democratic governance. Voter registration helps to facilitate the credibility of the electoral process and democratic governance and that is why the government found it imperative to create ample opportunity by declaring Monday a work free day which is the last day for the eligible voters to register.
Thus, government passionately urge the people to go out and register in the remaining days, while those who have lost or defaced their cards can register afresh but should guard against registering twice as each person is only allowed to register once.
The Continuous Voter Registration had started on Wednesday, April 11 and will end on Monday, April 16. Since the continuous voters registration (CRV) is periodic, the government of the state of Osun, therefore, considers it as imperative to dedicate a day for fresh potential voters to register for their voter card and for those that had registered to collect their PVC to enable them exercise their franchise on election day.
All residents of the state who are 18 years and above and are enjoined to go to the nearest registration centre in their areas to register their names for voter card.
A voter that has left his or former residential area should approach INEC office in his or her new area for transfer of voter card to enable him or her vote in the new residing area. The government urges stakeholders: political, community and religious leaders, Non Governmental Organisation, political and pressure groups to sensitise other people on the need to register for voter card and collect their PVC. Politics › Tender Apology To PDP Within 72hours For Burning Party Flags, Omisore Told by Aminat508(op): 8:54pm On Apr 06, 2018 |
@AMILOADEDLeaders and stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party in Osun state have decried the burning of the party flag at its factional Ogo-Oluwa Secretariat by supporters of the former Deputy Governor of the state, Otunba Iyiola Omisore.
The Osun PDP leaders under the aegis of Forum of Ex-PDP Political Office Holders however demanded an apology from Omisore whom they said was reported to have supervised the burning of the party flag and other emblems by some of his supporters.
The spokesperson of the forum, Barr. Tajudeen Adeyemi while addressing journalists at the Osun NUJ Correspondents' Chapel on Friday said the forum was shocked, saddened and disappointed at the development.
"We use this medium to state that we are deeply shocked, saddened and disappointed at the most recent conduct of a former deputy governor who is also a former senator, Otunba Iyiola Omisore, who was reported to have personally supervised the burning of the PDP flag and other party symbols by some hoodlums at his office in Osogbo yesterday (Thursday). Picture showing him superintend over the burning of PDP flags and banner at the former PDP Secretariat, Ogo Oluwa went viral on all media.
" It's a fact that his yesterday's action was the peak of the senator's self-determined war against the PDP, the party of which he has been a major beneficiary.
"In the light of the above stated facts therefore, the forum of Ex-PDP political office holders in Osun state thereby make the following demands:
That Otunba Iyiola Omisore must within the next 72hours condemn the barbaric action of the hoodlums who desecrated the PDP flag in his office yesterday and tender an unreserved apology to the leadership of the party for the unacceptable conduct.
That Otunba Omisore must unequivocally state his stance on the continued membership of the party or otherwise rather in view of the conflicting statements emanating from his aides and confidants in the last 24hours.
" That in the event of Otunba Omisore choosing to remain in the PDP, he must within the same 72hours withdraw all court cases instituted by him through proxies and explore the internal mechanism in the party to resolve any grivianaces he has.
That in the event of a failure of Otunba Omisore to do the above, we call the leadership of the party at all levels to take appropriate disciplinary action against him in order to show that no single individuals inordinate ambition is above the larger interest of the party.
In conclusion, we wish to tender the unreserved apology of our party members to the National Chairman of the PDP, Prince Uche Secondus for the disgraceful conduct of a misguided few who desecrated the symbols of our great party yesterday. We wish to assure the Party that the conduct of those few elements does not in any way represent the views and aspirations of the hundreds of thousands of genuine PDP members in Osun state who are working hard to ensure that the party records outstanding victory in the September 22nd Governorship election," the forum's address reads. Politics › Peace Returns To Osun PDP As Party Elects Adagunodo Chairman by Aminat508(op): 8:35pm On Mar 25, 2018*. Modified: 11:54am On Mar 26, 2018 |
@AMILOADED Peace has now returned to the fold of the Osun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP as the party elected Hon Olasoji Adagunodo, as its chairman.
The well attended congress held at Osogbo city stadium on Sunday had in attendance leaders of the party across the state and witnessed by the national body of the party led by Emmanuel Agbor, Chairman electoral Committee.
Those at the congress include, former national Secretary, Professor Wale Ladipo, former deputy governor in the state and former minister of state for defense, Erelu Olusola Obada, former minister for youth and sport, Senator Akinlabi Olasunkanmi, former national deputy chairman, Shuaib Oyedokun, and a member of the House of Representatives, Hon Oluwole Oke.
Others are, former Secretary to the Osun state government, Alhaji Fatai Akinbade, Prince Ade Fadahunsi, former Chairman of the party in the state, Gani Ola-Oluwa, former speaker of the state House of Assembly, Adejare Bello, Senator Felix Ogunwale, House of Assembly members, Dipo Eluwole and Albert Adeogun, Senator Olu Alabi, Nathaniel Oke SAN, among others.
Delivering his speech, Adagunodo called on aggrieved members of the party to support him in rescuing the state from the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.
"Let me therefore use this opportunity to extend a hand of friendship to our fellow contestants who also offered themselves for the service of our party in various positions.
"I want to assure you all that the fact that you lost in this election does not in anyway mean that you are less competent to run the affairs of the party.
"We shall ensure that no member of the party suffers any form of discrimination on the basis of his or her previous affiliation during our crisis period. We shall, in word and in deed show that truly, there are no victors and there are no vanquished.
"The PDP will by the grace of God provide the much needed rallying point for teachers, civil servants, doctors, farmers, students, pensioners and all the great people of Osun State who have been impoverished by the Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola administration in the last 7 and half years.
"It is highly unimaginable that a governor who inherited an economically viable and socially stable state from the PDP in November 2010 has turned the state into the most heavily indebted state in Nigeria and one with the lowest sustainability index by 2018.
"For members of other political parties who have been indicating interest in joining the PDP but were constrained by the crisis of the last two years, I want to tell you that the siege is now over and our doors are wide open for you to come and join us," he stated Source : http://www.amiloaded.com/2018/03/peace-returns-to-osun-pdp-as-party.html?m=1

This saying best describes Hon. Fateema Muhammed, the Director-General of Atikunation Independent Campaign Group (ICG), who, though a woman, is championing a tough course that most men may not even dare to undertake.
This brilliant socialite and politician is the master strategist and the brain behind the ambition and plans of a former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar to become the President of the country come 2019.
Popularly known as "Unstoppable Aduke," Muhammed, a prominent personality in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), she has registered her name in the good books of Ifako-Ijaiye in Lagos state.
This uncommon indutrialist was a key mobiliser and planner of Bola Ahmed Tinubu Campaign Organisation (BATO) which won the National Leader of APC governorship seat in Lagos.
She also coordinated Jimi Agbaje Campaign in 2007. During the Strategies and mobilization for former President Goodluck Jonathan in 2015, Hon. Muhammed played key roles in the keenly contested election.
Unstoppable Aduke hails from Borno State and she has traversed the length and breath of Nigeria in canvassing votes for his political candidates.
This amazing political strategy think-tank is not found wanting in touching peoples life with her Fateema Aduke Foundation. Call Hon. Muhammed a grassroots political mobiliser, you would not be wrong, call her a national and international electoral campaign planner, then you would be hitting the nail on the head. Politics › Osun Introduces Parliamentary System In LGA - Attorney General by Aminat508(op): 12:49pm On Feb 16, 2018 |
@AMILOADED
The Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Osun State, Dr. Ajibola Basiru, has explained the rationale behind the introduction of parliamentary system of government in the local government by Governor Rauf Aregbesola's administration.
He said the decision was to reposition the local council for effective service delivery to the people at the grassroots.
Delivering a paper titled "Parliamentary System - An Overview of the Guidelines for Administration of the Local Government, in Osogbo, the state capital, Dr. Basiru said that Aregbesola’s administration has demonstrated commitment to the growth and development of the local government system in the state.
He said "the introduction of the parliamentary system of government is aimed at galvanizing the local government system in the state and reposition the councils for effective service delivery.
"It is therefore imperative to train the newly elected councillors and management staff of the councils on the nature and workings of the parliamentary system.
The Attorney General took time to explain the functions and responsibilities of the different arms and functionaries of government at the local level.
"In order to minimize the effects of the incipient strains and stresses associated with the introduction of a novel system, the State Government of Osun has developed a standard guideline for the administration of local government.
"Transfer of political power to local areas by involving the inhabitants in the provision of the basic needs in their respective community.
Also the Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly Rt, Hon Najim Salami stated that Before the last election was conducted, some individuals picked bones with the government on the issue of parliamentary; even we have an individual who approached a court on the matter.
Though, circumstances surrounding the litigation suggested that it was designed to truncate the already scheduled Local Government election, to us at the state parliament the litigation and some decisions that accompanied it, is a welcome development, because it expands the jurisprudence.
What matters is, by and large, reason prevailed and democracy won."
He stressed further that the highest ranking PDP office holder in the country in person of the Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu has lent his voice in favour of the parliamentary system when he says, “ that the parliamentary system of government will engender more robust debates which always brings out the best in a democracy.” Source http://www.amiloaded.com/2018/02/real-reasons-why-osun-govt-introduced.html |
