Watch Agbadorians who defended what would have been an open desecration of the last remaining institution in this country shamelessly lap up their vomits. |
ALTERNATEID:Lol. Okowa didn't just decide to do something with his life. He got a presidential appointment from the same man who's government pretends to be persecuting him. What's the moral lesson to be learnt from this beyond showing other morally flexible Nigerians that they can also tow that path or the Reno Omokri path? |
ALTERNATEID:So a man under investigation by the EFCC for embezzling 1.3 trillion naira has been appointed as the renewed hope ambassador by your man Friday. What does that say about your tin-god? Are we supposed to believe that the EFCC will still continue to pursue his case with as much gusto as they are currently doing with Malami and Ngige? What happened to the EFCC Chairman swearing to resign if he fails to convict Yahaya Bello? |
ALTERNATEID:Ngige and Malami are in custody while Ifeanyi Okowa has been appointed as the renewed hope ambassador for the Southsouth. Yahaya Bello was last seen in Osun state just days ago campaigning for the APC candidate. What further evidence do you require that will stop you from continuing to bury your head in the sand? |
Christmyhope:Maybe you should read that Farouk's submission again. He never took back what he said. He insisted that his source was impeccable and only regretted the timing which he admitted to be bad. |
seunmsg:If it were true that Buhari pleaded with Tinubu not to persecute his ministers, why did Tinubu began prosecuting Hadi Sirika who is from the President’s homestate while Buhari was still alive? Why is Ngige, the minister of Labour being prosecuted but Keyamo, his co-minister continues to be a minister under Tinubu? Buhari will never shield even Yusuf, his own son from prosecution and he will never beg of that from Tinubu. Did Buhari also beg Tinubu to stop prosecuting Yahaya Bello and Ifeanyi Okowa who have bent the knee? You speak of monumental corruption under Buhari but Tinubu has surpassed all loans taken by Buhari while still failing to fund the 2025 budget, with no projects to show beyond saying governors got record revenues. Did he borrow to hand over the monies to the governors? Buhari executed visible projects with his own loans and still managed to pay subsidies. |
If Abaribe wasn't confident of his electoral capital, he would be defecting to the APC for protection like his counterparts, hoping for automatic ticket and federal might to propel him into office. Why hasn't he done so? |
Putindbutt:Haven't they? We will find out come 2027. Didn't you Agbadorians say you won't be needing Buhari’s votes? What happened to your "Southern Alliance"? The alliance is not alliancing right? |
Now I believe Faruk Kperogi's submission that Aisha and Buhari were separated at the time of his death. She has been recruited by the Lagos cabal to slander her husband even in death. Disgraceful. Buhari will never shield any of his appointee from probe. The likes of Hadi Sirika were being probed even before Buhari’s passing. Assuming but not conceding that this was true, does it mean Tinubu has gone against Buhari’s "last wish?". Recruiting Omole, a known critic of Buhari to write about the man speaks volumes. It's no surprise that true Buharists all boycotted the book review but Tinubu was in attendance. |
Rebelutionary:You wish. I never knew you were stalking me and religiously following my posts on here. I think it's high time Nairaland makes access to some comments a paid subscription. Continue seeking my validation from thread to thread. ADC will form the next government come 2027. You can take this to the bank. APC are splurging money around hoping some will be compromised to go rogue. This money can be better channelled to ameliorate the sufferings of everyday Nigerians. Little wonder they failed to fund the 2025 budget despite record revenues and record-breaking loans. Tinubu should be brave enough to face his opponents at the polls. |
The garrulous master strategist and his Lagos boys who professed to knowing it all are now finding out that it's not by cho cho cho. Buhari handed over a January to December budget cycle but they are still implementing 2024 budget in December 2025 with plans to still roll it over. |
He had every right to be, considering how she became openly antagonistic to her husband prior to his sickness, criticising him publicly and picking fights with late Abba Kyari in a clear attempt to pander to the Lagos cabal. This led to him making the infamous "belonging to the other room" comment. The fact that she gave a co-sign to this book, which was written by a critic of her late husband and whose contents are clearly a tacit attempt to malign the legacy of Buhari says a lot. |
Rootprof:Just like in Enugu, Ekiti and Osun states, the APC will resort to disqualification and imposition in the party primaries. |
Lol. Tinubu scored 8m+ votes in 2023, and 5.6m votes out of these was from the North. The North came through and repaid him for a previous support in 2015. The South didn't vote for Tinubu. It's on record that Northern governors championed his re-election against all odds. Tinubu didn't even campaign in the East. Where then is all that talk about checkmating the North coming from? Obi should step aside and support Tinubu if the goal is really to checkmate the North. Otherwise, he will only be complicating Tinubu's chances by balkanising the Southern votes, thereby making Tinubu even more reliant on Northern votes, just like in 2023. Politics is not an emotional sport, and facts are sacred. Every political cycle, every other region horsetrades, strike unemotional deals, and leave with concessions for their region, except one. They claim to be unbothered and try to make up for it with pyrrhic victories and other mundane things like claims of ethnic superiority but still cry about marginalisation. If you now claim to support Tinubu, it's because you've been conquered and have surrendered and not because you think your votes can now make him win. Tinubu himself knows it and he already proved he can win without your votes. The North is hardly ever out of power. Not now (a Northerner is V.P), not in 2027 and certainly not in 2031. Just different power blocs. In the end, ensure you're negotiating something for your region beyond emotions. Lessons. |
It wasn't a courtesy visit, even though APC are dishonestly terming it so (a mistake). The U.S describes it as a fact-finding mission. It's part of the sustained pressure. |
Brendaniel:Which is why I fear that the NSA is so close to such character with a loose tongue and a pen-for-hire. It is obvious that he nominated Omokri as ambassador.
|
Igbophobia:He didn't cook up anything to win in 2023. Hard as it is for you to believe, the Fulanis made him president with 5.3m votes. |
Igbophobia:Except that it was the Fulanis who made Tinubu president in the first place. The best way to ensure that is to have Obi step down now and endorse Tinubu. Otherwise, he will only be making Tinubu's task harder. There's a reason why Tinubu is fighting hard to bar him and Jonathan from the race. Advise Obi appropriately. |
MEGAWATCH:Smh. I don't know whether to laugh or cry. |
Igbophobia:Fair enough. The only problem is that while Tinubu can do away with the Igbo votes in 2027, he cannot do away with the Fulani votes and so he will be spending the bulk of his campaign resources courting the Fulanis. Which makes the topic of your thread irrelevant and redundant. Continue to play your isolation politics. |
MEGAWATCH:That's the whole point. The "fulanis" helped him because he has earlier invested politically in the North too. A concept that is too difficult for you all to comprehend. This has ensured that other regions continue to horsetrade and rotate power between themselves while you lot pretend not to be bothered and celebrate "bloody nose in Lagos". |
MEGAWATCH:These are the little victories that Obidients celebrate. "We gave Tinubu bloody nose in Lagos". They are ready to go at it again in 2027 but the outcome would be even less euphoric. The Southeast is capable of so much more but too emotional to see it. |
Igbophobia:Okay. Mobilise your kinsmen to vote Tinubu in 2027. If you all succeed, another group of Fulanis domiciled in the APC will assume power in 2031. The Fulanis do not have all their political eggs in one basket. The bigger question is, what's in it for your region? I guess you will continue to take solace in the fact that you have "Abokis" as gatemen, as suggested by one of you. |
Lol. Defeatist mentality already? Tinubu didn't campaign in the East in 2023. The only Southeastern state he went, he told them they will barely get a soaked bread if they don't support him. He eventually won with 8m votes and 5.3m of those votes came from the "Fulanis" who kept their words and returned a political favour. This was despite the "Fulanis" splitting their votes three ways between Tinubu (5.3m), Atiku (6.9m) and Kwankwaso (1.4m). Do the maths. What will Obi offer to Tinubu this time or vice versa? It's courtesy of Tinubu that Obi currently have no party and he added salt to injury by sending Nnamdi Kanu to prison. In contrast, Tinubu does not have a pathway to re-election without the "Fulani" votes. He knows that more than you do. Did you learn anything from that, or are you going to continue to be garrulous and arrogant? In other words, you have inherited the Fulanis as enemies but Tinubu still considers them as allies even far above you, at least politically. Even if Tinubu manages to get re-elected, power returns to the "Fulanis" in 2031. Have some self respect! |
Exercise in futility. Saraki has allowed his reputation to be soiled by his new leader, Nyesome Wike. |
ChiefOloye:Tinubu has always wanted to cede parts of Nigeria to France for them to build a military base. That informed his constant reception and vacation in France at a time when all our Francophone neighbours were pivoting away from France. What did they gain militarily from all the years France was mining their resources in exchange for protection? Tinubu will only end up making other neighbouring countries hostile to Nigeria. |
ottersberger:Atiku has joined the ADC along with Amaechi, Aregbesola, Elrufai, David Mark and others. Obi has not. They are all actively building the party in their states. Obi is hopping on podcasts and tweeting on X. Obi has lost ground across the South, Atiku has gained grounds in the North. Obi should go join a new party, support Tinubu or step down from the race. There's no free ticket in the ADC. |
Freetech:False. Reno and Ribadu personally invited Mike Arnold to Nigeria to come help launder the government's image. It simply backfired.
|
benardtotti:If zoning is what's important, why then did Tinubu destroy the LP and PDP using Wike and Abure just to disenfranchise Obi and Jonathan? Why is he hell-bent on being the only Southerner on the ballot? The PDP already zoned its ticket to the South, why does he keep insisting that the party doesn't field a candidate? We all know the answer, the South didn't vote him in 2023. There would have been no talks of a coalition if he didn't go all out to destroy existing political parties. |
immaculatesense:No. The key takeaway is clear. Obi should make up his mind. He can't continue to parade himself as a member of the coalition while undermining it. No one insists that he must be a part of the coalition. Obi has already lost some ground in the SS, SW and the NC and he has lost those grounds to Tinubu. There may even be voter apathy in the SE if he insists and runs solo. On the other hand, if Tinubu has lost any ground in the North, he has lost it to Atiku. The ADC will conduct a primary. That is non-negotiable and it's ticket will not be zoned. Obi should do what's in his best interest. I personally want him to run solo. It will create the perfect scenario for the election to go into a run-off because Tinubu will not get the highest votes on the first ballot. |
The best time for Tinubu to give you Yoruba nation was yesterday. The next best time is now. Any Yoruba nation agitator that springs up after he's voted out will be treated as a treasonable felon and a secessionist. Take note. |
