Osiris12:So you're admitting that a genocide is currently being carried out against fellow Igbos who just happen to be Muslims? This has been going on for long. If this isn't extremism, what is? |
Biodun556:It's equivalent to forgery. Doesn't it bother you that other old commenters will now be seen to be commenting off-topic? |
Biodun556:Create a new thread, otherwise, you're seeking to mislead Nairalanders with the contents of previous users that have commented on the older topic. |
Banhammy717:Hmmm. Where were all these questions when he served as APC's National Publicity Secretary? Were this the reasons stated for his disqualification? If the party has any evidence of his complicity in these, the right step is to persecute him legally not seek to unjustifiably disqualify him. Afterall, some persons are still asking who killed Funsho Williams? |
Biodun556:Mynd44, Fergie001. This op is clearly changing the topic and content of his old threads. I don't think this should be allowed. |
Biodun556:Lol. Appointed as Defence Minister in charge of a nation's security just to keep him under watch? Is he still being kept under watch? Tinubu cannot be hobnobbing with such characters across the country and empowering them while you lot try to blame the victims while absolving your man Friday. It's 100 percent his responsibility. |
Biodun556:Biodun, the Northern electorates in Zamfara did their bit by rejecting Matawalle at the polls after he was brought in through a supreme Court ruling in his first term. Guess who betrayed them by going ahead to appoint Matawalle as Defence Minister? Your brother and tin-god, Tinubu. It's a betrayal of the people because Tinubu won the presidential elections in Zamfara, despite their rejection of the incumbent Matawalle. |
This didn't even make the news when it happened. Whole Directors of Defence Ministry kidnapped and the government is pretending like nothing happened. They wouldn't even acknowledge it. |
tammie24:Of course. This was the same outcry in the North when he appointed Badaru and Matawalle. He ignored it all but you all will still hail him as a listening president when it backfires and he scrambles to undo it. The same was the case when he sacked Gen Christopher Musa. He cannot be doing trial and error on the job because often times, lives are at stake. |
Mynd44:There's no one more qualified than him amongst the contenders. As former National Secretary of the party, the least he deserved was to at least participate in the party primaries. Tinubu is openly showing favoritism towards his cousin, Oyetola. In other states, we saw how he did everything including throwing long-term party loyalists under the bus to attract sitting governors and handing over party structures to them. Why is Osun's case different? With the same pattern repeated in Enugu, Ekiti and now Osun, APC is gradually showing that it has no internal democracy. If this continues, the implosion of the party is inevitable. The likes of Aregbesola have been vindicated. |
Orlandoo:Would you have rather he snatched it, grabbed it and ran away with it? To contest an election and lose honourably is not a shame. It's just an exercise of democracy. Atiku has paid his debts and he keeps no grudges. |
descarado:I know it. He's usually not like that and I don't begrudge him. His emotions got a hold of him but politics is not an emotional sport. Regions can align without necessarily being friends. The 2015 merger that birthed the APC was Tinubu's brainchild. He travelled from Lagos to Daura to go convince a retired Buhari to come use his popularity to kick out Jonathan, and it worked. Events have proven that Tinubu was never friends with Buhari, it was just a political alignment. The Southeastern electorates need to drop emotions aside and play the Nigerian politics the way it is supposed to be played. They have the numbers but it can be better utilised for optimum gain. The opportunity costs of not doing so over the years are too significant to ignore. |
Orlandoo:He merely exercised his right to vie for office. Atiku has never sought to undemocratically perpetuate himself in power, neither has he tried to use his position to destroy all opposition parties so his party can be the only one on the ballot as we are currently seeing today. Atiku is a democrat with an ambition to govern Nigeria, and that is not a crime. |
benardtotti:If Tinubu shares in your false confidence, he won't be sending thousands of buses and hummers to states ahead of the official INEC timetable for commencement of campaigns and appointing the likes of Okowa as renewed hope ambassadors, even before appointing official ambassadors. He clearly sees what you don't see. That's why he began his re-election campaign on the day of his inauguration. He should focus on defeating Obi in the South come 2027. |
Penguin2:Why do you think power should be "given" to anyone like it were a plate of food? Did you "give" power to anyone before demanding for it? No one has demanded anything from you. If the bitter truth that power is not served on a platter upsets you, then it can't be helped. You can continue to take solace in the fact that you have "my people" (very funny) as gatemen. Tinubu schemed to be Vice to Buhari in 2015. He didn't succeed but ended up nominating the VP. He's now president today in 2023. If that's tantamount to bending the knee for power, I guess he didn't mind. The end justifies the means. These things aren't taught in schools, and no one is prepared to go into the gutters with you. The bitter truth is that politically, the North does not have its eggs in one basket. Tinubu won his election with 5.6m Northern votes out of his total 8m votes. The North made him President but it was a debt repaid and Northerners always pay their debts, good or bad. ALWAYS! Now we are even. |
Ttalk:I never knew that reasonable and responsible Fulanis exists. I thought they were all the same. But which category does Matawalle belong to? Is it the reasonable and responsible group or the born to rule and terrorists enabling group? Or maybe the 5.6m "Fulanis" who voted Tinubu in 2023 belong to the reasonable and responsible group. But why does Tinubu want to ignore these ones to go pick a successor in the NC and SE when he clearly can't win in 2027 without them? What's in it for them? He wants to dance with the devil but does not want to pay the price? Lol. I'm losing brain cells messing with you. |
Eshinwaju:No, I don't. I promise you. I want Obi to contest independently in whatever party he chooses. Unlike in 2023, he will be doing damage to Tinubu contesting alone. It wasn’t the ADC that destroyed LP to deny Obi a platform and destroyed PDP to deny Jonathan a platform. There's a reason why that was done. Go figure! |
Ttalk:You did not answer the question o. So Tinubu will still run on muslim-muslim ticket because Shettima is not a Fulani man? Why does he even need Shettima? Shouldn't he show workings by picking someone from the NC? Afterall, he's going to handover to someone from the NC and SE. What is he still doing with Matawalle, a hard-core Fulani man as defence minister? You are trying to eat from all sides o. We call that hypocrisy over here. |
Ttalk:Lol. Agbadorians sef. Playing all sides thinking they are smart when they have been found out by all and sundry. Just a quick question, will Tinubu still run on muslim-muslim ticket in 2027? I want to check something. Surely with all these permutations you have drawn up, he can afford not to. Or can't he? When is he also dropping Matawalle and appointing someone from the SE as Minister of Defence? |
Pierocash:Atiku, Amaechi, Aregbesola, etc are already building the party in their regions. Obi is holding podcasts and demanding for the party ticket that he isn't a member of. His half-hearted commitment to the ADC led to a disaster at the Anambra polls plus his diehard supporters have become weary. He should opt out of the race as advised, lest he risks setting the Southeast decades back as Soludo was trying to tell him back in 2023. |
Validated:Obi is targeting the ZLP but a landmine has been placed there for him, unbeknownst to him. Tinubu/Wike will do whatever it takes to ensure he doesn't get a viable platform to contest. If he does, it will be a miracle if he gets half of his 2023 votes contesting alone. Time is a gentleman. His indecision has cost him voters but his political advisers on twitter (Sarah and Yunusa) are still holding out to cashout. The Southeast need to pivot away from Obi if he chooses to gamble again with their political destiny. 2027 will largely be a two-horse race. |
Before now, they claimed Nigeria was more secure than it has ever been and their PR data boys told us how he was the best NSA since Independence. That was before President Trump. Now, they are admitting the previously inadmissible. |
Biodun556:Last time we checked, Abdulrazak of Kwara was the latest to shed "crocodile tears". Continue to make excuses for your tribesman who is the C-in-C while it hits close to home under his watch. |
Jayhome24:When will they be transferred? How soon? Beyond media trials, if the APC government has anything against them, do you think a desperate Tinubu will hold back? Those who have things to hide like Okowa and co are the ones decamping to the APC for forgiveness and protection. Elrufai continues to walk free in and out of the country and is openly and boldly opposing Tinubu with not even an invitation. He's squeaky clean. |
They claim Malami funds terrorism because he's now in opposition but it's them who has a Bello Matawalle as Defence Minister. There are public videos of Bello Turji himself implicating Matawalle but Tinubu still has him in charge of our nation's security. If Malami is guilty, they should cease the media trial and charge him to court. He's a Senior Advocate of Nigeria and will meet them there. https://www.premiumtimesng.com/regional/nwest/715751-terrorist-implicates-minister-says-failed-peace-deal-allowed-bandits-to-operate-from-cities.html?tztc=1

Tinubu will have to open up on the pact that he signed with Matawalle. ThePunch is reporting that Tinubu sacked Badaru because Badaru and Matawalle appeared to be in cold-war. In other words, Tinubu was forced to make a choice and he chose Matawalle. This rubbishes the snake oil that Agbadorians are trying to sell us on Gen Musa's recall. https://punchng.com/real-reason-ex-defence-minister-badaru-resigned/ |
Justiceleague1:Apologies. I was reacting to something someone else said in another thread. 2027 should be about a substainable, transparent and equitable alliance that can unseat the incumbent. It will be a partnership and a true handshake across the Niger. Atiku/Obi alliance in 2019 pulled 11 million votes and that was against Buhari whom we all know was more of a cult-figure in the North. Tinubu is not Buhari, hence why his own strategy is to scuttle opposition via shady means. Tinubu only got 8.6m votes and 5.3m of those votes were from the North, as payback. The North pays its debts, good or bad. He can and will be defeated. An alliance with the East will ensure the elections are over by 12noon. But the ADC should not be held to ransom by any quarters while taking out its momentum others are building. |
mariovito:They are so desperate to be seen to have opposition while they do everything behind the scenes to ensure no opposition party survives. Umahi is obviously bankrolling Segun Sowunmi. A Pen-for-hire can hardly be regarded as opposition. |
Unity? Weren't we shouting "Go back to Anambra", demolishing properties in a targeted manner and canceling art exhibitions because they didn't spell "Owambe" correctly? When did we suddenly become emergency unity beggars? |
Penguin2:He supported ADC in the Anambra gubernatorial elections yet we all saw the numbers both for ADC and LP. Don't confuse online noise and likes with substance. The ADC will be the only credible alternative come 2027. Obi is free to test that theory by go giving life to the ZLP or any other party. Online Obidients are already doing the permutations of states he will win in a landslide. Sarah Yusuf and Tanko Yunusa are his political strategists. His lethargy and indecision is costing him supporters on a daily. Even Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivor has naturally gravitated towards Aregbesola as his leader. Obi only got his 2023 numbers because virtually all Christians voted for him while the Muslims splitted their votes between Tinubu, Atiku and Kwankwaso. Numbers don't lie. Atiku has barely lost a single voter, but he has certainly gained more from those who previously voted Tinubu in the North. It's hard to say the same of Obi. He has lost some ground in the SW, SS and even NC. Don't think as many people that did in 2023 will go queue up to vote him again in 2027 just to prove a point, when they know he cannot win on his own.
