Gagare1:Is it really national interest or demand from the U.S? Was the level of insecurity not being glossed with propaganda until the international scrutiny? If it's national interest, he would not continue to double down on his selection of the likes of Reno Omokri as ambassadors despite public outcry. It's not enough to change his mind after the repercussions start to manifest. It's usually costly and we don't have that luxury of time. |
potbelly:Why would it be a joke? Nigeria had a fruitful relationship with their Nigerien counterpart especially in the area of security via the Multinational Joint Task Force until Tinubu came into power and fumbled it. This broken relationship can be listed as one of the several reasons behind the increasing deterioration in our fight against terror. |
Who put the pieces there in the first place? Wasn't it the self-proclaimed talent hunter? Few years from now, when the likes of Reno and Ikpeazu inevitably causes an international embarrassment, you lot will still be here to hail Tinubu for "moving the pieces". Sycophancy is one he'll of a drug. |
Satazaa:No problem. He can assign every current position held by Northerners or Fulanis to his Yoruba kinsmen. Afterall, he's doing that on all the Southern slots and we can all see how marvellously well they are excelling in their roles. Even Egbetokun is being retained despite passing the age of retirement because no current serving policeman from any other region can deliver what he can. Before you continue to stoke tribal hatred, first tell Tinubu to return the 5.6m Fulani votes that made him President. Or do you think it was the paltry 2m votes he got in the Southwest that made him President? |
Rilwayne001:He's undoing his mess but at what cost? The two ministers of defence had no business being there in the first place but he passed up on other competent people and went ahead to appoint them despite outcry by most people in the North. He's currently doing the same in his choice of ambassadors now and will still get hailed by you when it inevitably backfires and he attempts to fix it. We can't continue to be running a government on trial and error. This isn't the Tinubu that was sold to us as having the ability to hunt for talents to work with. His entire cabinet and choice of appointees is lacklustre and underwhelming. |
So without the U.S putting pressure on Tinubu, he would have actually stuck with Badaru and Matawalle until the end of his tenure? Goes to show what his priorities are. That whole "He knows how to spot talents" talk were all lies. Just like the "He built Lagos" narrative. |
Lol. They are doing fine? In the bush or perhaps they are lodged in a five-star hotel? |
Look at all the activated Agbadorians in my mention. Of course, Tinubu is also not involved in the PDP, it's just Wike. He's also not involved in the LP, it's just Abure. He has plausible deniability. Continue to bury your heads in the sand. Political parties used to be viable platforms until his ascension to power. It's the Lagos template and it's no coincidence. You all can continue to pretend. Not everyone is naïve. |
seunlayi:We know that's where Nigeria is headed but he can only try. Nigeria is too too big for that. |
Udom spoke generally as an elder statesman would but this one is really trying to milk it. Tells you how bad the situation is at home. Akwa Ibomites will find it hard to vote Umo Eno even if Udom decamps to the APC today. |
HgAkpobomeEr:Maybe in that region where you come from. For other Nigerians, a man's word is bond. |

The courts continue to be used to destroy all opposition parties through procured judgements. What is Tinubu afraid of? I thought the 36 state governors have already decamped? Kwankwaso decamping to the APC under duress will still not save him. Hard as they try, a Paul Biya scenario will never succeed in a country like Nigeria. |
Really? But NgeneUkwenu said Northcentral Christians are lining up and falling over themselves to vote Tinubu in 2027. |
Don't also forget Femi Fani Kayode too. Who; - Mocked Tinubu as a drug addict who "slurs when he speaks," needs "20 pills" to function, and shakes while eating; accused him of incoherence without substances. - Called Tinubu Buhari's "principal night soil collector and chief slave" for betraying past anti-Buhari stance (e.g., 2003 quote labeling Buhari a "religious fanatic" ![]() - Blasted Tinubu for callous response to #EndSARS killings, blaming victims and brushing atrocities "under the carpet"; called it "insulting and shameful." - Berated Tinubu for not standing to greet Ooni of Ife, deeming it "insulting" and lacking cultural respect. - Accused him of "selling Nigeria to Buhari for selfish interest," bragging as an "affront to God," and being a "nemesis" via PDP persecution; called his broadcasts "comic relief" and "garbage." Same man is now on Ambassadorial list. Zero integrity from both the appointor and appointee. Agbadorians say Tinubu has forgiven them but it's rather looking like he has bribed them and bought their silence and support with taxpayer's money. |
Ttalk:You personally created this thread barely 24 hours ago. Were you reprimanded on your WhatsApp group? Like Ttalk, like Reno, like Tinubu. All birds of the same feather.
|
DomPerignon:You all don't get it, do you? It's not a yab, he dared Tinubu to take him to court. Instead of doing so, Tinubu is offering him money and appointments. That's not forgiveness, that's bribery and appeasement. The same was the case with Bosun, Bwala and FFK. Reno hasn't recanted his assertions, to the best of the knowledge of Nigerians. Nigeria is not Tinubu's real estate for him to do as he pleases. He must be accountable to Nigerians and Nigerians should have a say on their representatives. Tinubu should have rather appointed him as his principal private secretary who will draw his salary from Tinubu's own account, not on taxpayer's money. |
Guestmale:A sitting president should be seen to be or at least pretend to try. He sets the example for others in the country to imbibe. Otherwise, he's not fit for the role. Whataboutism will not cut it. We can't continue like this. |
Guestmale:What is politics without morality or ethics? We are talking about the president of a country here, who must be seen to be above board. |
PulaPower:Lol. Show proof of Reno recanting the drug dealing allegations. You cannot conveniently skip that. We all know why he is buying off the likes of Reno, FFK and Bwala. He's trying to prevent them from doing damage to an already battered reputation. But he need not bother. He that is down need fear no fall. |
Flangelo12:Wasn't that what you all chanted during Tinubu's campaign? Only to turn back around and backstab him after winning. |
TokoEkambi:Agbadorians are really jittery. Must you recruit other regions to join you in your hate campaign? 2027 will be the reawakening of the old Northern-Southeastern alliance. Get used to it. |
geezville86:He did not play Baba Iyabo. Atiku Abubakar, the then V.P interceded on his behalf. Nigeria had actually moved on from that style of politics until Tinubu came and has seemingly resurrected it in an even worse way. Maybe it's a Southwest thing. The only thing that should count in a democracy is the people's will. |
LibertyRep:Fubara was hiding in Rivers state government house under Wike's immunity, wanted by the EFCC for corruption and misappropriation until his election. He will not dare contest if his owner does not want him to. |
press9jatv:Seen. But the topic is about Adeleke and Accord party. Do you see Aregbesola in your dreams? This is not the behaviour of someone who thinks another is irrelevant. |
LibertyRep:Who will vote for him after throwing his supporters under the bus? Senator Natasha served out her suspension and came back swinging and defiant with her head unbowed, knees unbent and spirit unbroken. Fubara served his and came back with his tail tucked between his legs. There are levels to this thing. |
DonFigho:Lol. So Amaechi is now working for Tinubu? You lot are impossible. Anyways, Tinubu's political deftness will be tested come 2027. Time is a gentleman. |
Gotocourt:But Atiku is no longer in the PDP and PDP has zoned its ticket to the South, why then is Wike still doing everything he can to ensure the PDP doesn't field a candidate? Don't forget that Wike kicked against the micro-zoning of PDP ticket to the Southeast and still lobbied to be Vice to Atiku after losing the PDP primaries. It was never about the South. |
SmartPolician:Is Tinubu allowing any other person from the South to contest? Why did he destroy the Labour party and is using Wike to ensure that the PDP doesn't field a candidate despite zoning their ticket to the South? Una think say una wise abi? |
This is the character that Tinubu wants to send out to represent the country internationally. No wonder our global reputation is in the gutters under his watch. A president should be seen to have a sense of morality and self-respect. Buying out your critics with money and appointments is not political deftness nor master strategy. It's an admittance of guilt. The bigger question is, what's in it for hard-core Agbadorians? Tinubu has proven times without number that he prioritizes later day converts over them. Their outbursts on twitter a few months ago about "reward system" has clearly fallen on deaf ears. If a charlatan like Reno is qualified to be an ambassador, any one of them can. |
