Dotherightthing:So what changed? The appointment of loyalists into sensitive positions while blindsiding the governor and the conduct of a shambolic LG election by an illegal sole administrator? Tinubu is not a monarch and Nigeria is not a dictatorship. Impeachment is a legal process but suspending a democratically elected governor of a state just to have your way remains a disgrace. |
There's no whitewashing this. The state of emergency was a disgrace and should never have happened. He should now declare a state of emergency on insecurity across the entire country without further delay. |
There's no whitewashing this. The state of emergency was a disgrace and should never have happened. He should now declare a state of emergency insecurity across the entire country without further delay. |
There's no whitewashing thus. The state of emergency was a disgrace and should never have happened. He should now declare a state of emergency insecurity across the entire country without further delay. |
Dotherightthing:Of course I did. Should we roll out the drums because Tinubu did what he should have never undo in the first place? His democratic credentials have been forever tainted. All for 2027 so-called structure. |
What a disgrace. At least, no one will come and tell us tomorrow that Tinubu is a democrat. The Agbadorian above me is already bracing up to count this as one of Tinubu's achievements. Pathetic! |
What about Afegbua's own tax records? Are they up-to-date? So tax records will soon become yet another weapon that will be unleashed upon perceived opposition? |
Cherrybae:Same Wike that publicly said he was neither consulted nor aware of the SOE? When did he then recommend Ibas to the president? Are you admitting that Wike lied on national TV? If so, it won't be the first time anyway. We can all see the reconciliation between Fubara and Wike. It's the kind that occurs between a cockroach and a hen. P.S: Fubara's security details are already being reinstated but it would be the height of naivety to think this so-called peace between Wike and Fubara is sustainable. |
Bayo Onanuga announced that the President will be gone for 10 working days, Tinubu spent 12 working days abroad but they are still trying to spin it that he cut short his vacation. Make it make sense. |
The problem is not in collecting tax per se. It is the fact that he collects taxes at a diabolic rate with nothing to show. |
sofeo:The above statement is the bane of the average Nigerian. What has God got to do with this? Can you squeeze water out of a rock? Ajaokuta steel has become a cesspit and conduit pipe for corruption. Just as with the refineries, it will be far cheaper to build a new steel plant than to resurrect Ajaokuta steel plant. |
Lanretoye:In your view, government taming the evil is equivalent to negotiating with them and paying them off to stop killing abi? No problem, let them also pay off the ones in every part of the country too to stop the killings. Just don't come here and lie that the negotiation with the bandits are what Northerners want. That will be very incorrect and disingenuous. |
Wike is under immense pressure from home. He has hurriedly returned and has organised project commissionings commencing on the due date so he can blab. He desperately needs the SOE called off but Akpabio seems to be in favour of prolonging it. Ibas is Akpabio's doing, not Wike. A silent battle is ongoing between the duo for control of the Southsouth. Wike will soon realise that he has sold his people for nought. |
Lanretoye:Did any Northerner tell you that their first go-to choice is negotiation with bandits? What you see manifesting in the pictures above is simply a failure of governance. This state-backed negotiation remains an unpopular choice amongst Northerners. Are the people of Kwara, Benue, Plateau and Edo also negotiating with bandits right now? Continue to deflect. |
U09ce:He has placed known PR merchants and senior databoys with zero morality like Omojuwa on retainership to launder his image online while he runs the most mediocre government ever in the history of Kaduna. It smacks of low self-esteem.
|
Tinubu has surrounded himself with sycophants like Dogara, Bwala, Uba Sani, Reno Omokri and Co who won't think twice before stabbing him in the back if the occasion is right. Same Dogara, just like Bwala openly opposed the president during electioneering campaign and returned to feast with juicy positions while those who stood and supported the president have been betrayed. |
So simply stating the obvious that there's unprecedented hunger and insecurity in the country is tantamount to instigating anarchy? Are we living out George Orwell's 1984? If we are now in a police state, the APC should do well to let us know. |
3ice9ce:Leave all this story and answer a simple question. Are the people of Kwara, Benue and Plateau also paying bandits? Is that why Tinubu has refused to solve the insecurity there until they all learn their lessons? Tinubu's current minister of defence is the governor that pioneered negotiations with bandits as governor of Zamfara state, yet, Tinubu deemed him fit to solve the insecurity problem. Is he the best that the North has to offer? He's barely literate. Was any Northerner consulted before Tinubu selected him as Minister of defence? He deliberately picks the worst of Northerners among several capable hands and turns around to blame the North for their incompetence. They all report to Tinubu, not to Northerners and Tinubu is obviously satisfied with their performance. |
Okoroawusa:Yesterday, Gbajabiamila gathered all former house of reps members to endorse Tinubu and you all went wild with jubilation. You only remember they are former this and former that when they don't support APC. Tinubu was also a former governor of Lagos for about 20 years until he became President. |
3ice9ce:So, Tinubu is only president for the Yorubas abi? Has he solved the insecurity in Kwara or the Kwarans too should sort themselves out and stop killing themselves? Is Gumi bigger than the innocent civilians whom these terrorists are killing everyday? Don't worry, continue to absolve the commander in chief because he now happens to be from your tribe. What happens when all the Northern states decide to negotiate with the terrorists? Where do you think they will be headed next? |
APC is still planning to count restoring Fubara back to his position as one of Tinubu's achievements? Tufiakwa! |
Ofunaofu:APC promised him the gubernatorial party ticket only to run him street. Same thing they planned to do to Kwankwaso. |
Smartwave:Really? You Agbadorians are no longer even pretending that Tinubu can win in a free and fair manner. An unpleasant surprise await you all in 2027 if you think you can rig the election. We also have an electoral College in our constitution, it's called "winning the two-third majority of all the states." Having the total highest number of votes alone cannot make someone president, even in Nigeria. It is fair. |
seunmsg:Just the same way the 5% fuel tax was proposed by Obasanjo. There's a reason why those taxes were not implemented until Tinubu, the Tax Grandmaester came into power. The obsession with revenue generation with nothing to show is the bane of this administration. Buhari had so many policies that Tinubu has done away with. He only picks the policies that aligns with his insatiable appetite while doing away with others. Buhari passed the PIB into law but Tinubu is now seeking to "amend" it to suit his greed. Why didn't he amend this 4% FOB tax to completely do away with it? |
Kaa4:False. Elrufai never settled bandits. His stance on banditry has always been clear, "carpet-bomb the forests and damn the consequences." Post-2011 electoral violence, a FG panel as well as a state government panel headed by General Martin-Luther Agwai recommended for the compensation of herders who were caught in the cross-hairs of the violence and killed somewhere in Kaduna. Elrufai simply complied with the recommendations of both panels by paying compensation to the victims. If you have any contrary evidence on that, post it here. There is a gulf of difference between bandits and herders. Bandits rustle cattle even from Fulani herders.

Why do they never learn? Matawalle, Tinubu's current minister of defence, tried this as governor of Zamfara state, and it never worked. It only increased the rate of banditry in neighbouring states like Kaduna and Sokoto, and the bandits returned to business as soon as the settlement ceased. The government has seemingly now embraced this as a national policy. "Cheesing the bandits." |
Richtaiwo:The SDP is still a standalone party. What did it evolve into? Why did Tinubu decamp from the SDP? Give it a rest. You can't spin this.
|
Benbellamor:So prosecution for terrorism now falls within the jurisdiction of the state governments? Federal Security personnels are often present during this so-called negotiations, did they get clearance to attend from the state government? Would the "peace deal" even hold if the Army says it is not a part of it and will continue to hunt the terrorists? Go ahead with anything just to absolve the FG from complacency. Matawalle, who pioneered this negotiation with bandits is now the minister of defence (which is an unpopular choice even in the North), was he appointed for a "job well done" by the state government? |
Don't worry. Just allow for a free and fair election and cease the intimidation of opposition. The electorates will decide through their ballots on election day. |
Incentivising terrorism.
