Tinubu lost Lagos but Sanwo-olu won his reelection. This was also the case in Imo, Ebonyi, Cross River, Kaduna, Sokoto, Kebbi, etc all with APC governors who couldn't deliver Tinubu in the presidential election. Not just in the North. The killings of 8 NSCDC personnel over the weekend in Edo State did not happen in the North. But if you say the entire South is safe just to hide the ineptitude of Tinubu, who are we to argue?

He doesn't have immunity and is out of government, what is stopping Tinubu from persecuting him? Over 106 people died this weekend. Is Elrufai responsible for that? What about the killings in Zamfara, Yelwata, Kwara and other places? Singling out the Southern Kaduna killings and attributing it to Elrufai is part of why the government and their leaders will remain lackadaisical about addressing it. Elrufai is no longer in power so they cannot even amplify the deaths anymore due to political reasons but in reality, the killings never stopped.

Once its close to election, Tinubu will galvanise them by creating a common enemy out of other tribes in Lagos and tell them they are coming to steal Lagos from them. He did it to Jimi Agbaje and is now doing it to Rhodes-Vivor. It's the strategy he has used to continue to control Lagos for over 20 years and counting.
