zero8zero:If you say so Harvey Spectre. As long as it helps you sleep better at night. |
Lol. First they propose an ill-thought out and economy crippling policy and then suspend it due to backlash and proceed to count it as an achievement. All while patting themselves on the back for a job well done. |
Governor Amuneke. I don't know how Uba Sani thinks he can govern Kaduna using PR bots and databoys on social media The reality on ground is a far-cry from what he tries to portray online. From the fraudulent "groundbreaking" on roads that get abandoned to the commissioning of incomplete projects like the 300-bed hospital, man is living in his own crafted delusion. |
fergie001:Clearly. It is misinformation and it has no business making the frontpage apart from giving the usual suspects something to jubilate about, albeit in vain. The FHC has absolutely no jurisdiction in this matter. |
Nigerians, we are witnessing state capture in full swing |
anonimi:Section 134 (2) to (5) of the 1999 Constitution (as amended). A run-off will happen if none of the candidates win two-thirds of the states on the first ballot. It will take place between two candidates; (1) The candidate with the highest number of the votes cast and (2) The candidate that won in the highest number of states (not necessarily the second highest number of votes cast). |
Is anyone still in doubt that the government is paying bandits as a way to get temporary reprieve and score cheap political points? This disjointed and uncoordinated negotiation strategy with bandits without them fully surrendering their weapons is simply the State capitulating and surrendering to the superior firepower of terrorists. It is also part of what fuels the incursion of banditry into the South as the bandits will simply move to new "territories" if all the Northern states embrace "negotiation". |
Tinubu has the largest and most incompetent cabinet in the history of the country. |
If the 2027 election becomes a 5-horse race between Tinubu, Jonathan, Atiku, Obi and Kwankwaso, the election will likely go into a run-off. Tinubu's pathway to re-election is getting dimmer by the day. |
Contesting for President will not dent Jonathan's image in any way, shape or form. The seat of the President, Federal Republic of Nigeria is not a dishonorable position, no matter how anyone tries to spin it. John Mahama of Ghana lost his re-election bid and re-contested twice before returning to power. He didn't diminish himself in any way by doing that. |
Ballmer:You and Tunjijones should both put heads together and come up with a credible source that disputes what the data says. You have 48hrs. Don't disappear like the fart of a leprous witch.
|
tunjijones:Just to indulge you, I decided to have grok A.I help out. This is the latest figures showing that Enugu has overtaken Oyo in IGR. Continue to play the tribalism card and latch on to Lagos while other States overtake you. P.S: If you have a contrary source that is more up-to-date, post it here.
|
If it's a myth, why has this success not been replicated in any other SWestern state aside Lagos? Proximity to the sea with accompanying infrastructure is a worldwide known precursor to development. In geopolitics, it's called the Geography of Development. |
Forget all the posturing. Tinubu will still fail to win the SW in a landslide like Batists like to pretend. They also know it and are trying to counter it by stoking tribal and ethnic tensions in the SW and radicalising some Yorubas under the umbrella of conservatism but it is a counter-productive strategy. It is even further alienating more SWesterners, especially the youth from Tinubu. |
helinues:You people now create your own happiness in your skulls and proceed to jubilate. Tell your sponsored Nafiu Bala to present candidates in the next election let's see. The master strategist is scared of competition come 2027, but it is inevitable. |
Two years and counting, they are still campaigning with removal of subsidy and "bold reforms" even with nothing to show. All they crave for and keep chasing after are mundane "endorsements" from equally culpable elites while the populace continue to suffer. How many times will Gbajabiamila organise a meeting of former legislators solely for them to "endorse" Tinubu? |
seunmsg:You forgot to quote the part where he said Tinubu is borrowing outrageously at an alarming rate with nothing tangible to show, despite the subsidy removal. |
NgeneUkwenu:When will you declare a state of emergency in Osun state to force Adeleke to decamp to APC? The withholding of local government allocations does not seem to be doing the trick. |
With the likely event of Jonathan coming into the race, the possibility of Tinubu coming third is no longer looking far-fetched, even to the staunchest Agbadorian. They are scared and they have every reason to be. |
Two years and counting, does David Umahi have any completed project to his name? All we have are bogus talks like these with inflated project costs but nothing tangible on ground. All the revoked and re-awarded asphalt to cement projects are moving at snail speed. Tinubu will realise how much he has been sabotaged by sycophants by the time he's voted out of power.
|
helinues:What was the business of Tinubu in Rivers state affairs? Tinubu and Akpabio keep pushing their luck to see how far Nigerians can take. This move against Natasha by Akpabio is meant to serve as a warning and to emasculate other senators just like the state of emergency in Rivers did to all the governors. It's a precursor to dictatorship and fascism. |
The Nepal protest just like EndSARS, are externally funded regime-change protests designed to remove the government in power. It's a template that has been replicated in several countries in the past. Governments can only be legitimately removed through the ballot. Having said that, it's ironic that a lot of handles from the SW who led the EndSARS/EndBadGoveenance protest under Buhari are now vociferously against protest today because "Awa Lokan".
|
Another half-truth and propaganda from the government. This 5% tax was proposed by Buhari and never implemented till date so the removal will have no impact on current calls and data rates. The correct headline should have been "FG Removes Proposed 5% Tax on Telecoms". The proposed 5% tax on fuel should also be removed from the tax bill. |
opera1:In a potential 5-horse race scenario with Tinubu, Jonathan, Obi, Atiku and Kwankwaso on the ballot, where will Tinubu's votes come from to get him reelected? |
YeyeGbami:Is he more influential at his current level than he would be if reelected as President of Nigeria? Jonathan throwing his hat into the race will change all permutations and it is bad news to APC. Jonathan is the only candidate that can give the PDP a lifeline. |
naptu2:You are now personalising my comment? What does it matter to the subject of the discuss? The tax team claimed to have repealed several redundant taxes, why retain the 5% tax if they had no intention to implement it? If they are currently backtracking, it's due to backlash not because they care of the devastating impact on the already struggling populace. The two go-to comments we hear under Tinubu today are "Write your legislators", "Hold your governors accountable", and "Go to court" while the heist continues. Goodbye (I know you will read it, you can't help yourself) |
naptu2:Typical response when cornered. Same legislators that had their budgets increased from 150 billion to over 370 billion? They are now a parastatal under Tinubu. Even the heads of the judiciary had their salaries increased by over 300% while Wike is currently building houses for Judges. Let them continue to impose devastating taxes on the populace to test the limit of their endurance. The Nepalese government were also arrogant in their posturing until the people had enough. |
naptu2:"Tinubu didn't introduce the 5% tax on fuel, he only wants to implement it" - Batists The 5% tax is now redundant and should be scrapped because as at when it was introduced, government was still paying subsidy on fuel. Even at that, Tinubu was against it then, and it was suspended. They told us proceeds from removal of subsidy will go towards infrastructure. Where are the infrastructure? Will the 5% tax replace tolling or will the roads still be tolled after imposing 5% tax on fuel? |
Abati is a rabid liar. Ruby Ruby, the once ferocious critic under Buhari is now a spokesman for Tinubu. Why is the so-called Naval yacht berthed somewhere between Monaco and Paris if it is for the Navy? What does he have to say about the purchase of a new jet and cadillac while Nigerians starve? "Tinubu didn't introduce the 5% tax on fuel, he only wants to implement it" - Bulaberians |
These ones keep monkeying themselves. What are they looking for? |
What was the occasion? Wike is really lobbying hard to prove to Tinubu that he and Fubara are now on the same page. He's feeling the pressure from home and desperately wants the state of emergency called off even more than Fubara. |
Good. The people of Rivers must take charge of their own destiny instead of letting it be dictated by one man. However, Fubara shouldn't have started if he knew he had no intention of going all the way. I understand he must have been threatened with some of his past misdeeds but he really threw his allies under the bus. |
