Osebanjo:It's no longer Ribadu nor Shettima because Kwankwaso is now the new bride being courted by Tinubu? By this time prior to the election in 2023, it used to be Elrufai before your man Friday betrayed him. Why does an Osebanjo think he can choose a leader for the North? Funny. Elrufai is a major reason why Tinubu is bleeding votes in the North. By 2027, they might be nothing left. |
They are simply setting themselves up for painful litigations that will make them go bankrupt. Anyone who books a flight and ends up getting banned from travelling by AON will simply sue and demand for compensation and damages. |
Insignificant. Who did Soludo support in 2023 when Peter Obi cleared Anambra? We know he didn't support Obi. Not with the open letter that he wrote to him. Influence of Southern politicians on their people's political choices are overstated. And yes, this cuts across the entire South except in Southwest where the APC are now stoking tribal sentiments as a strategy to shore up support for Tinubu. And that strategy is counterproductive because it's costing Tinubu votes in the other Southern regions at a time when he desperately needs Southern solidarity. |
DeLaRue:If you're now looking to get only 25% of votes from areas you got over 50% before, how are you projecting to win? Tinubu securing only 25% of all Northern states can still not make him President. If Atiku will not secure 25% in any Southern state, does it mean Tinubu will win the entire South including the Southsouth and Southeast? If not, where then does Tinubu intend to make up for the Northern votes he has potentially lost and how does he intend to secure the majority votes even if he gets 25% in all 36 states? Simply ask yourself, Is he winning over new Southern voters at the same rate he's losing Northern votes? |
WhizdomXX:Why are you all fixated on elite politicians instead of the people? Was Wadada in LP when PO won Nassarawa? If he was that influential, why didn't he deliver the state to his party? Why didn't the sitting APC governor deliver Nassarawa state to Tinubu? We all learn politics together by 2027. |
They should continue. However hard they try, they can't coerce everybody to join the APC. Even Sheriff and Okowa who hastily decamped to save their skin are ruefully regretting their decision now. The backlash from their people was unprecedented. |
Captain Obvious. If he thinks this is a new revelation, then we are in soup. |
Even if he jails all the opposition leaders before the elections in 2027, he will be defeated from detention. "The guy is gone!" |
Agbadorians will add these appointments to the list of achievements. |
Softmirror:It's a known fact that people with single digit IQ find it impossible to decode sarcasm. They just don't have the range. Best believe, "The guy is gone". |
MadamExcellency:But APC has 21 governors not including some opposition governors that have pledged to support Tinubu. Isn't that tantamount to victory in at least 21 states for him? We will all learn politics together. |
WizardOfNG:Lol. Why do you keep seeking my validation? Simply make your comments and move on. If you truly believe that Tinubu has won the North again because Bago is his self-imposed campaign director, why not proceed to celebrate his victory? You seem agitated. I believe you have demystified the "Northern supremacist and born-to-rule hegemonists", why then does their vote mean so much to you? APC has virtually all the governors and elites on their side but for some reason, they don't seem confident of victory. They would rather hound all opposition politicians and attempt to scuttle all political parties in order to run unopposed. The signs are there for the discerning. |
Tinubu thinks he can buy out all his opposition via inducement. When that fails, he uses coercion via the instrumentality of state. |

Dotherightthing:How many votes did Tinubu contribute to Buhari’s victory. Did Northerners claim to have demystified the Southwest after Buhari won. A lot of the projects undertaken by Buhari were in the Southwest, like Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Lagos-Ibadan Railway, Lekki Deep Sea Port, Badagry road, etc. Anyways, Northerners always pay their debts and they have paid their debt. Now they are even with Tinubu and owe him nothing. Not with the betrayal. |
phorget:We see this a lot even here on Nairaland. Agbadorians now claim Tinubu has demystified the North. This was after Northerners rallied round him and supported him with 5.6m votes to make him President. Look at how he even repaid Elrufai, his most vocal campaigner from the North in 2023. Ungrateful lots. |
All of the APC trolls all gathered here straight from the WhatsApp group. These particular move is already played out and it's beginning to look like a carpenter with only a hammer in his toolkit. ADC is ahead and forging on. Never seen a self-proclaimed "fighter for democracy" that is so scared of a competitive election. |
While Agbadorians are saying Tinubu has demystified the North, their tin-god is getting pensive and doing everything to pacify the North and strike a deal. Is Shettima and Ganduje not good enough? Why is Tinubu desperate to replace a loyal Shettima with Kwankwaso? Anyways, we will all learn politics together. |
They have seen the numbers. Absolutely no pathway to re-election. |
The greatest checkmate to Wike was Atiku quietly leaving the PDP. Wike was rendered toothless, powerless and directionless by that move. Meanwhile, Atiku has a stronger platform in the ADC to potentially run for President while Wike is fast losing relevance with Tinubu. His next assignment will be to prevent Jonathan from getting the party ticket but that will further unravel him. |
helinues:Yes it did. Rivers state is now looking very dirty and unkempt. The Sole Adminustrator can afford to be complacent, afterall he wasn’t voted for. He isn't even from Rivers state and he can care less. The people of Rivers State voted Fubara as Governor. |
helinues:You're small minded. Who told you it's about Fubara? If has moved on, have the people of Rivers State moved on? Tinubu just adjusted the SOE to grant the Sole Administrator powers to conduct local government elections. That's clearly illegal and unconstitutional but go on, continue to set the precedence. Nigerians are taking note. |
State of Emergency in Rivers State. Withholding of local government allocations in Osun State. This is the decamping by coercion and inducement that we talk about. You can't buy love neither can you copy respect. |
The best time for Tinubu to build a Southern alliance was yesterday. The next best time is now. The North is gone! Tinubu humiliated Ganduje and even Shettima with how he handled the whole matter. He prioritised self-interest and was ready to throw his Northern allies and advocates to the curb. It was the same way he fumbled Elrufai. Now he's left with next-to-nothing in the North except pretenders and political hangers-on whom he mistakes for influential Northerners. |
Now that the move to bring in Kwankwaso has fallen flat on its face, Tinubu is now doing everything to pacify Ganduje by appointing some of his allies into positions. But the damage has already been done. Tinubu has shown that he was ready to jettison both Ganduje and Shettima without any remorse. Tinubu is never getting the same level of loyalty from them anymore. He's becoming increasingly isolated in the North. |
Lol. Obidients are beseeching GEJ to continue to be a statesman while Agbadorians have become emergency constitutional lawyers and are busy interpreting the constitution. GEJ contesting will be more detrimental to Tinubu than it will be to Obi. |
It was clear that Tinubu won only 4 states in the entire South. All four were from his Southwestern region and he couldn't even win Lagos and Osun, his state of residence and state of origin respectively. This calls into question, his posture as the Southern candidate. The South didn't vote Tinubu. Northerners made him President but today, Agbadorians claim that he has demystified the North just because he failed to show gratitude. "The North remembers" is not just a slogan. It's real fact. Jonathan coming into the race will be a nightmare for Tinubu because he'll have a stronger credential as the "Southern candidate" and he's free of every term encumbrance. He will make Tinubu bleed votes in the North due to recency bias. |
No need to rewrite history. PDP imploded then because Jonathan reneged on a gentleman agreement that he had within his party. It's like Obi getting the ADC ticket now, winning the general election and then reneging on his promise to do only one term. Wike is in a dilemma with the prospect of GEJ joining the race as this clearly changes all permutations. The PDP (bar Wike) definitely needs him as a lifeline. This is a direct repercussion of Obi basing his candidacy on the promise of doing just a single term. Jonathan is known for taking advantage of circumstances but still he's eminently qualified to contest and he will take away most of the Northern and Southsouthern votes that Tinubu was hoping to get. |
datola:How is being the youngest speaker ever in Nigeria and going two-terms without interruption not an achievement? Not only was he speaker during his time, he was Chairman of the forum of speakers across the 36 states of the federation. Amaechi has excelled in every task he has been saddled with. The records are there. |
helinues:So that the whole Yoruba race will label him a betrayer? Everyone has seen how you Yorubas have made Tinubu's presidency a Yoruba supremacy agenda but it's a bad approach to take. A lot of Southwesterners are displeased with Tinubu but can't voice out due to the backlash. They will secretly do the needful. |

helinues:Helinues, please put on your thinking cap for once. If they have evidence, why haven't they tendered it in court? And if they have, wouldn't speaking about a matter in court be regarded as contempt of court. Never in the history of this country have we had a government determined to undermine all political parties in the country. It is a dangerous and cowardly move. Try as they may, the Nigerian people will have an alternative in 2027. |
