Okpebholo1:Then go ahead and swear Tinubu in. Sanwo-olu won Lagos in the gubernatorial in 2023. What about Tinubu? Atiku won all the Northeastern states except Borno and all the Northwestern states except Zamfara and Jigawa but most of these states voted APC in the gubernatorial. What does that tell you? Tinubu does not own the APC. |
Okpebholo1:Then go ahead and swear Tinubu in. Sanwo-olu won Lagos in the gubernatorial in 2023. What about Tinubu? |
Bayo Onanuga has since lost the plot. Everything he does seems geared to gain the validation of the opposition. Shouldn't he be communicating directly to Nigerians on what Tinubu has done instead? He seems to mistake his role for a campaign spokesman than a presidential spokesman that he is. |
The funds will be released when Adeleke decamps to APC. This is exactly what Agbadorians mean when they brag that politicians are decamping to their party. Fubara will also be reinstated as soon as he signs the agreement to decamp to the APC right after the reinstatement. |
givedemwotowoto:Allow. Let them celebrate the phyrric victory that was the buy-election. Tinubu will win all the states that APC won elections in the buy-election. Lessons will still be learnt. |
Fubara has resorted to begging in order to be reinstated. Disgraceful. Tinubu should immediately reinstate Fubara, not because of Fubara but because it's the right thing to do, and he should never have been suspended. |
adioolayi:The goal is just to have his pictures spread across the frontpage of major newspapers. Media trial is all we get these days. |
These are the shady characters that Tinubu likes having around him so he can have them on a leash to do his bidding. He may find it difficult to work with you if you are squeaky clean because that would mean he has no leverage over you. Video below shows how Wike's son lavish the stolen funds on his girlfriend overseas while Agbadorians like the one below continue to defend online while shacked up in their shanties.
|
It is simply a matter of copy and paste. PDP couldn't even be bothered to update their NEC list for a party convention. Atiku and David Mark have moved on. They should update their party list and move on too. |
2027 is not even here yet, they are already suspending each other for anti-party in Tinubu’s backyard. Watch out for the mother of all anti-party in the APC from the silently aggrieved as well as those who would lose out in the power struggle within the party. Tinubu will still not win the Southwest in a landslide as Agbadorians like to pretend. |
Trueprophet91:I see you fell for the propaganda as was intended. This 5% excise duty was proposed and rejected/removed in the new law. It has no existing effect whatsoever, so there is nothing about current tariff reducing. The government is just fishing for achievements by attempting to squeeze water out of a rock. They have purportedly suspended a 5% tax on telecoms but Nigerians are to start paying 5% tax on refined crude from next year. They may even decide to suspend this proposed tax on fuel by December and then celebrate it as an achievement. Who is deceiving who? Animal Farm. |
Embellished news and achievement padding. This 5% tax was never enforced. It was proposed and later suspended due to backlash. It will have no bearing on current data and call rates. |
It' s now obvious that keeping the people impoverished is a deliberate strategy by the APC but they cannot buy out everyone in the general election.
|
Slowly but surely, Aregbesola will make Tinubu bleed votes in the Southwest. Agbadorians hate to admit it but APC had to go beg Baba Kabiru after Tinubu lost Lagos in 2023 to intervene in the gubernatorial which he later did. They have since resumed their attacks on him but tribalizing Tinubu's candidacy will only hurt Tinubu's chances in other regions.
|
ambale:Has this ever been in doubt? Tinubu is conniving with Wike to undemocratically scuttle all opposition. He wanted to use the "Southern Agenda" as an excuse while doing Tinubu's bidding but Atiku left the party leaving him confused. His new assignment now is to ensure neither Goodluck Jonathan nor Seyi Makinde clinch the PDP ticket to challenge Tinubu even though they are both Southerners. They also used Abure to do the same to Obi in the Labour party. |
Jaymats:Lol. It's either you are domiciled in the Southwest or you are too young to understand voting patterns. I'm sure you didn't even know the name of the candidates that contested in the buy-election if any held in your state and I'm sure you didn't vote because none held in your catchment area. How can you then use that to judge the trajectory of 2027. Nigerians necessarily don't have a problem with parties, they simply know Tinubu as the man that caused them hardship. Tinubu lost Lagos but Lagosians voted Sanwo-olu of the APC in the gubernatorial. This was the case in several APC states with incumbent governors. Do you really think Tinubu will win the Southeast or get same number of votes he got in the North in 2023? There's a reason why he's using the likes of Wike to scuttle other parties and prevent them from fielding candidates in 2027. Forget the buy-election. |
blamingthedevil:Humiliation? What about the humiliation of APC losing Ibadan North, their traditional stronghold in Oyo to PDP? Tinubu lost many states in 2027 that had governors of the APC as incumbents including Lagos. Those governors still managed to win their own election. So why is a "victory" in a "buy-election" making you all so euphoric? |
seunmsg:And what would they do with the absolute majority that would impact ordinary Nigerians? Does Tinubu face any opposition in the house of assembly prior to now on any request put before the house? |
omenka:No gubernatorial candidate was on the ballot during the buy-election. Realistically, why should Obidients bother about senate/house of reps election when virtually all the candidates that got elected under the LP as a result of the Obi-wave have decamped to the APC because of juicy senate committees? If anything, APC has proven that all house of assembly members are willing to decamp to the ruling party in power if the motivation is right. Even governors elected under the platform of other parties now openly endorse Tinubu simply because he has taxed Nigerians and put more monies in their coffers for them to embezzle. |
helinues:Okay. While you're at it, why not go ahead and swear Tinubu in for second term? You all believe APC's loss in Ibadan to PDP in their stronghold is of no consequence to Tinubu in 2027 but ironically, you think APC's "victory" in other states in the buy-election means Tinubu will sweep those states. |
helinues:Go ahead. Only the politically naïve would think the outcome of the buy-election would be any different. Most Nigerians except the social media-sarvy ones didn't even know elections held over the weekend. Did you vote? Tinubu should go home and rest then, he has won his re-election. |
Softmirror:No. Jonathan passed the electoral reform bill into law and kept saying his ambition was not worth the blood of any Nigerian. He was defeated and he calmly conceded defeat even when some of his appointees were ready to cause rancour. He didn't scuttle other political parties using state resources in a bid to run unopposed. |
helinues:The way you lot over-celebrate the outcome of this flawed buy-election is almost laughable. It will be foolhardy to think the general election will follow the same pattern. There was really no much difference between this by-election and the local government elections that occurs in states because governors and federal political appointees always use it to prove a point by concentrating enormous resources in a small catchment area. APC even lost in Ibadan North, a traditional APC stronghold in the Southwest. Was that an indictment on Tinubu and a testament of the unpopularity of APC in Oyo? Does this mean Tinubu will lose Oyo state in 2027? |
helinues:Enabled by Tinubu. You gloat while opposition parties are being undermined with tacit support by the government using state apparatus. |
Simply goes to show that Tinubu has a very fragile ego and can not stand being criticised. He would rather break the bank to buy you off at whatever price. Bwala, Reno and their likes are simply pens-for-hire. It's nothing to gloat about. Reno attacked Buhari for 8 years but it was almost like he never existed to Buhari. It's the ones who have something to hide that have bribed them to desist from further soiling their battered reputation. |
Softmirror:Now that your Yoruba brother is in power, all we hear is hold your governor accountable. Were there no governors to be held accountable during Goodluck Jonathan and Buhari? |
Instead of selling Tinubu with his achievements, if any, they are simply saying others will also fail to perform if elected. There's a huge difference between Alex Otti and Ikpeazu even though they were both in the PDP. |
This public spat between two revered Southwestern leaders is disgraceful to say the least. |

What happened to Okowa's 1.3 trillion naira investigation by the EFCC? Adeleke still has his local government funds withheld, it will be released if he decamps to the APC. If Fubara decamps from the PDP to APC as a conditionality to return to power, minions will still point fingers somewhere else other than to the one who is using apparatus of state to coerce, induce and weaken all opposition and undemocratically causing rancour in all political parties. What can Atiku do about that? We are simply back to the dark politics of yesteryear. When loyalists and erstwhile allies of BAT like Aregbesola leave, they are termed betrayals but they blame others when the roles are reversed. Hypocrisy. |
This new strategy of squeezing money out of the struggling citizens via taxation and empowering state governors who have immunity is bound to fail. When the people complain, they simply mouth off "hold your governor accountable". Same governors who will be forgiven of all sins and embezzled funds as long as they decamp or are aligned with the party in power? Isn’t this what some sceptics against the subsidy removal have always feared will happen? |
