Fashola under Buhari built and delivered this project but Tinubu came and immediately tolled it. That's all they know, tax collection with nothing to show. Next, they will claim it as their achievement and probably commission it. Glory hunters and project bandits. |
Freebills12:But barely 2 years ago, Tinubu was all over the place with Elrufai. He could not even campaign in any Northern state without him. He even helped Tinubu answer a question on security at Chatham House. When did this "revelation" about Elrufai become known? Yorubas, una think say una wise abi? |
Jughead29:Forget about the North, did he win the South? He won only 4 out of 6 southwestern states and then Rivers state under questionable circumstances. Just 5 states in the entire South. He was beaten blue black by Obi even at his polling unit on bourdillon. The North made Tinubu President. |
Game on! Tinubu will have opposition in 2027. His shady strategy of stiffling all parties in order to run unopposed will be his albatross. The people will always find an alternative. Nigeria is not a Banana Republic. |
The paid articles are here already. The majority of Nigerians will not vote APC in 2027. No number of sponsored articles can change that. |
If I were Tinubu, I would start packing my bags before I'm caught napping. |
Lol. Look at Akpabio, Akume, and others feeling attacked. God will indeed judge us all! |
The food Nigerians are cooking in 2027, APC will not be able to finish it. Tinubu's attempt at stiffling opposition will be his albatross. It will only make Nigerians more desperate for an alternative. |
Northerners are waiting for him to replace Shettima with any other Northern candidate. They want to check something. A Yorubaman can never choose a leader for the North! It's impossible. |
Lol. Lagos-Calabar coastal highway is 750 kilometres and Tinubu has only managed to do 30 kilometres in 2 years but here is a Governor claiming to have constructed 79 roads spanning 780 kilometres in 2 years. Anyways, he knows his audience and they are seriously lapping it up but they will be back to call him a betrayer when he fails to deliver due to lack of capacity. Time is a gentleman. Below is one of the freshly constructed roads. Less than two years old.
|
zero8zero:Your Tinubu did not say that he was a failure last time he was in Kaduna. He showered glowing tributes on Elrufai and begged him publicly to stay behind and work with him. He even kept sending emissaries to Elrufai when he initially declined and then proceeded to betray him. What does that say about your Man Friday? If he didn't mean what he said the last time, why should he be trusted now. Only Southwesterners glorify treachery and cowardice.

Glory hunters. As it is in the Federal so it is in the states. The hospital is one of the legacies of Elrufai, just like nearly all the "projects" Tinubu commissioned in Kaduna. The governors have discovered that Tinubu loves sycophancy so they are falling overselves to outdo each other. But legacy is earned, not claimed. Below is a well documented sequence of Elrufai's impact on the project. In Rivers, Tinubu supports Wike over Fubara and even proceeded to remove Fubara illegally from power, but he supports Uba Sani over Elrufai in Kaduna. He supports Akume over Governor Alia and even went to Benue to openly lash at the governor. Everything he does is for his own self-interest. He does not even pretend to be neutral. Very unpresidential! At least, Buhari maintained neutrality which is what one would expect of a national leader.
|
Tinubu will not be the first Southwesterner to have been voted by the North. Northerners voted him because they genuinely believed he was capable and sincere enough to change Nigeria's fortunes. It had nothing to do with his health status because Northerners know and believe only God gives and take lives. That he would turn around to betray respected Northern leaders and renegade on his promises to Nigerians is not something to gloat about. It may be a thing in Yorubaland but certainly not in the North. |
There is nothing glorious about an act of terrorism, irrespective of who perpetrates it. |
Tinubu is not helping much to dispel the stereotype Nigerians already have about the people from his region. Before the election, he showered glowing tributes on Elrufai and publicly begged him to stay back and work with him. He then threw him under the bus as soon as he won. Who is to say the same will not be done to Uba Sani? Afterall, he's about to dump Shettima too. In Rivers, he supports Wike over Fubara and even proceeded to remove Fubara illegally from power, but he supports Uba Sani over Elrufai in Kaduna. He supports Akume over Governor Alia and even went to Benue to openly lash at the governor. Everything he does is for his own self-interest. He does not even pretend to be neutral. Very unpresidential! At least, Buhari maintained neutrality which is what one would expect of a national leader. |
It was just an overzealous supporter in the crowd trying to get close to the President, probably to beg for alms. Hence, the "leave him alone" statement. Every single supporter in the venue were mobilised and brought in by the governor and his team, anyway. They even had t-shirts, fez caps and flags. The likes of Uba Sani can't deliver Tinubu in the North. However, the lacklustre reception he got from the state should tell him how unpopular he has become. Coming to Kaduna and attempting to throw sheds at Elrufai was petty and made him look small. The last time he visited Kaduna, he showered praises on Elrufai and publicly begged him to work with him before proceeding to betray him. He's not winning over any true Northerner with such two-faced behaviour. Northerners are not pretentious and they only respect honesty, integrity and "Amana" (trust). Whether real or imagined, that is the secret behind Buhari’s cult-like status. Tinubu only got so much votes from the North in the first place because they were compelled by that "amana" to keep their word. He has broken that trust.

darkdenizen:It wasn’t an assailant. It was an overzealous supporter in the crowd trying to get close to the President, probably to beg. Hence, the "leave him alone". |
Politicians defecting cannot save Tinubu in 2027. He's so desperate for endorsement by politicians while neglecting the people. |
Putindbutt:Okay, if you insist. Kwankwaso also sponsored his thugs to destroy Tinubu's billboards in Kano. https://www.nairaland.com/8454885/angry-youths-kano-destroy-tinubus Governor Sheriff, the new signee also sent his thugs to do the same to Tinubu's billboards in Delta. https://www.nairaland.com/8454332/ndokwa-youths-destroy-governor-oborevwori Reality will soon dawn on everyone. Tinubu is getting rejected across every part of the country. Regarding the renaming of the 300-bed specialist hospital Kaduna to Bola Tinubu hospital, of course, as it is in the Federal so it is in the states. The hospital is one of the legacies of Elrufai, just like nearly all the projects Tinubu will be commissioning in Kaduna today. The governors have discovered that Tinubu loves sycophancy so they are falling overselves to outdo each other. But legacy is earned, not claimed.
|
Moroccoguy:Continue to cope. It's happening today with Tinubu still in the state. You clearly see "Welcome" and "Commissioning" on the billboards. |
Akpakomiza2:If you insist. Meanwhile, this was the rousing welcome he got in Kaduna today. The President hasn't even left the state yet. Continue to build castles in the air. https://www.nairaland.com/8454954/police-watch-helplessly-kaduna-kano |
You may want to follow this thread to see the kind of rousing welcome he got. None of these Northern politicians around the President are on ground. https://www.nairaland.com/8454954/police-watch-helplessly-kaduna-kano |
BafanaBafana:Going by this logic, does Tinubu have political value in Lagos or even in the entire South? Obi won the South convincingly with no single governor. You wanted the Northeast to forsake their son, Atiku who had a chance to be President just to vote an unpopular Tinubu? How many of the politicians in the APC delivered their States to Tinubu in 2023 and how many of those decamping today can deliver their states to Tinubu in 2027. I hope you won't be back here to blame them for being unable to deliver Tinubu in 2027. Tinubu is even more unpopular now than he was in the last election as an untested candidate. He's only relying on winning on the popularity of others but he forgets that he would be the one primarily on the ballot, not them. If he drops Shettima, Atiku will grab the entire Northeastern votes. |
LagosOrigin:He can't rig in the North though. You can take that to the bank. That's the fastest way to get counted (apologies to Peter Obi). Tinubu's electoral loss will start from the Northwest. He had better stick with Shettima to salvage something out of the Northeast. Heads or tail, he's toast. The featherweight northern opportunists and hangers-on that he has around him cannot galvanise Northern votes in his favour. |
kolente:Even the so-called focus on Southern Kaduna is just in the media. The governor has done nothing in concrete terms for the people of Southern Kaduna, let alone anywhere else for that matter. He's more focused on Elrufai, forgetting that no one will remember Elrufai for the things he didn't do, but rather for the things he did, which were a lot. Elrufai's shoes are simply too big for the incompetent Governor. Tinubu is over there in Kaduna commissioning projects that are all legacies of Elrufai which he left at very advanced stages of completion. What an irony! |
Lanretoye:Dishonest take! Why not tell us why Ndume lost his "juicy" position in the first place? When the government in power starts using appointments and juicy positions to get a false sense of loyalty and quietude from people, then you know that government has failed already. You all thought you could treacherously blackmail Elrufai into silence after begging him for months publicly and in private to serve in the government only to turn around and betray him. Elrufai would have delivered in his position in the government or resigned if being sabotaged. He earned it even though he wasn't desperate for any position. Elrufai helped galvanise a substantial percentage of the votes that Tinubu got in the North. Which vocal Northern supporter has Tinubu replace him with? Hypocrisy and backstabbing is not a virtue and two can play the game!
|
Where are the unity begging agbadorians who's new slogan is "We the south will vote Tinubu"? I hope the Southsouthern electorates are aware that they will vote Tinubu? It's 2 years into his tenure, Tinubu is not improving on his popularity, he's retrogressing. Only the politicians are decamping to secure their impending retirement. |
Insensitive statement. The visit is just an afterthought then. |
A butterfly that thinks itself a bird. Tinubu has gained nothing in making Reno and Bwala his spokespersons. It has rather portrayed him as shady and reinforces everything they once said about him. We know he bought them off to prevent them from continuing to do damage to his battered reputation, but the optics are still bad for him. Infact, overall, he has lost loyal supporters of the APC who would prefer not to be yoked together with characters like Reno and Bwala. |
kedeojo:Go ahead. Did you vote Atiku in 2023? Atiku still pooled 6.9m votes inspite of and not because of you. Northerners who ditched their own son, Atiku and gave Tinubu 5.6m votes are now having buyer's remorse. They will correct their mistake in 2027. You can go ahead and vote your Tinubu. Obi will still best Tinubu overall in the South if the election were to be conducted 10 times. The difference is that there will be no 5.6m votes waiting for Tinubu to come and collect in the North. |
Lol. But Agbadorians were patting themselves on the back and congratulating each other because Tunde Bakare visited the President. According to them, "Tunde Bakare has aligned". The way Tinubu and his minions are milking each visit and aggressively seeking endorsements from every quarter should tell you that they know there's fire on the mountain. |
