At least, we now know why governors are decamping to the APC. Tinubu is using our common patrimony and the due entitlements of the states to play partisan politics. Buhari never did that. He's hoping to benefit from the goodwill of other politicians because he knows his own reputation and popularity is in shambles. He would be disappointed in 2027. |
IkeOnyia:Tinubu also lost his base, Lagos and his state of origin, Osun. At least, Shettima won his State. Who should step down for who? Tinubu was grossly unpopular in the South as well. The North made him president. Forget that he has now become arrogant. That is the fact! Do you think Shettima will lose his state if he was contesting for President. Atiku is also a son of the Northeast, and he was on the ballot! The number of votes Tinubu got in the North is as a result of the hardwork of Northerners, like Elrufai, whom Tinubu has now betrayed and discarded. The repercussions of that will be felt in 2027. |
ShinjaWWest:Unity beggar! Don't mistake politicians for electorates. Go to Delta, Akwa Ibom, Edo, Bayelsa or Rivers and feel the pulse of the people. The Southwest will stand alone in 2027. |
aswani:Was he consulted before a whooping 29 billion was expended in refurbishing an almost completed house? From day one, Tinubu wanted to push Shettima out of the villa by sending him away to the middle of nowhere in a bugged apartment but Shettima is smarter than Tinubu. Tinubu is not a strong leader. He's just insecure with low self-esteem and the most treacherous till date. It wasn’t strength that made him change deputies 3 times in 8 years as governor of Lagos. It was insecurity. |
SmartPolician:That is simply Tinubu's penchant for "me and only me" politics and his tendency to use and dump manifesting. Don't forget, he changed deputies 3 times in 8 years as governor of Lagos? Kwankwaso is now the new bride that he intends to use and dump. Anyways, Tinubu should change Shettima and kiss the Northeast goodbye. The Northwest are also cooking for him after the treatment of Elrufai. They are just being quiet about it unlike the boisterous Northeasterners. The likes of Ahmadu Bello, Nnamdi Azikiwe and Awolowo were once contemporary politicians. This is history in the making. Tinubu cannot continue to undermine revered Northern politicians in a treacherous manner and think there will be no consequences. Atiku will be the biggest beneficiary in all these because any Northern vote lost by Tinubu is an automatic addition to Atiku. Why should the North continue to reject their own son for a treacherous Yorubaman? |
Difrent:You are being economical with the truth. What kind of cabinet reshuffling to spread political appointments would affect the VP of a joint ticket? Why not he just complete the reshufflement by stepping down himself? Call it what it is; Tinubu's penchant for "me and only me" politics and his tendency to use and dump. Was it to spread political appointments that made him change deputies 3 times in 8 years as governor of Lagos? Anyways, Tinubu should change Shettima and kiss the Northeast goodbye. The Northwest are also cooking for him after the treatment of Elrufai. They are just being quiet about it unlike the boisterous Northeasterners. The likes of Ahmadu Bello, Nnamdi Azikiwe and Awolowo were once contemporary politicians. This is history in the making. Tinubu cannot continue to undermine revered Northern politicians in a treacherous manner and think there will be no consequences. Every Northern vote lost by Tinubu is a net gain for Atiku. |
I hope the quality of these concrete roads will be better than the ones he did in Ebonyi. Those ones are already beginning to fail and itsnt even 8 years yet. |
They are beginning to spin the narrative to ensure Yorubas become even more enslaved and beholden to Tinubu. What you saw yesterday was the North telling Tinubu in unambiguous terms that he would not be allowed to betray yet another Northern leader without consequences. The Northwest have also made that resolution with Tinubu's betrayal of Elrufai. They are just quiet about it. Tinubu will feel the fury of the North in 2027. He better starts planning to make up for the lost votes in the South. |
Lol. He nearly found out. This is the aftermath of saying "Tinubu 2 X" in the North. Thank God he wasn't counted. Apologies to Peter Obi. Northerners no really send your papa. Whoever you are, you will collect. It will be impossible for APC to rig in the North in 2027 because the party is now unpopular. Anyone who attempts to do so will be quickly counted. The North is not Rivers State. Fingers crossed. |
The implosion of APC by 2027 is inevitable. Heads or tail, Tinubu will bleed votes in the North but even more so if he goes ahead to replace Shettima. He thinks he can use everyone just to satisfy his own ambition. First it was Elrufai, then Shettima. Kwankwaso is now his newest bride but the North are cooking. Kwankwaso himself will sabotage Tinubu. Northeast APC has imploded. Watch out for the implosion in the Southsouth. Eyes on Delta. |

Kwankwaso himself will sabotage Tinubu. Even Ribadu sitting pretty and thinking he's the chosen one will be disappointed at the end of the day. He should ask Gbajabiamila. When they say master strategist, they simply mean a master in treachery and betrayal. Northeast APC has imploded. Next to implode will be Southsouth APC. All eyes on Delta. |
Yesterday, it was the Southsouth Elders that he called faceless when they challenged his claim that the East-West road was completed. Today, it's Northern Elders that are faceless. What is the status on the Kaduna-Abuja Road that he re-awarded to a phony construction company called Infiouest that no-one had ever heard about? Can we also see progress on the Sokoto-Badagry Road? How many projects are currently going on in the Northeast? Concerns from Elders across regions are dismissed as faceless but he grovels in the commendation of IMF and Worldbank. What a pity! |
zero8zero:They are not "commissioning projects" though. How do you commission a road under construction? They should be flagging it off instead. |
Lol. Is it this bad? Tinubu has no concrete achievement after two years in power. We are now commissioning disjointed one carriageway of a road under construction and terming it phase one. The jokes write themselves. If by his admittance, the Buhari government already paid 156 billion naira for the road, was the money forfeited to the contractor and re-awarded or should we say Buhari already paid a part of the project? Don't forget, Umahi told us Buhari was the best thing since sliced bread and went ahead to name the Ebonyi airport after Buhari but Buhari declined. Perhaps, he saw through the sycophancy unlike the one in power today who demands it. |
Agbadorians will have you believe that Southsouth is in the bag. We will all learn politics together. |
lionshare:Is 25% in Southsouth, less than 5% in Southeast and 4 out of 6 states in Southwest something to brag about for a supposed Southern candidate? You are simply agreeing with me that Northern votes made Tinubu President. He lost woefully to Obi in the South and apart from a few Southwestern voters (for tribal sentiments), Tinubu has not flipped enough Obi supporters to make up for the Northern votes that he has lost. Obi being on the ballot will neutralize Tinubu's clamour for "Southern turn" because Obi is the face of the Southern candidacy. Northerners were largely inspired by Elrufai who kept singing the need for "one good turn" and Amana (trust). Where is Elrufai today and how has Tinubu treated him? None of the Northern sycophants around Tinubu today can inspire voters to vote for him. Northerners are not cowards and they remember! Muslim-muslim may no longer be a factor in 2023 but performance will be, and on that, Tinubu has failed to live up to the expectations. The Christians who didn't vote Tinubu in 2023 for religious reasons didn't outrightly come out to say so. They used the banner of performance. They are feeling more vindicated in their decision than convinced. |
INEC has its own budget approved by the National Assembly. Why is Wike, an interested party building INEC an office? The thing with electoral integrity is that not only must the process be fair and free of bias and favoritism, it must be SEEN to be fair and free of bias and favoritism. |
Yorubas should die this attempt of trying to separate the Hausas from the Fulanis in the North, as an election strategy. It is not only futile, it is laughable for reasons that need no explanation. |
APC are in morbid fear of the possibility of Jonathan entering the race. It would significantly distort their equation. Keep eyes on these two personalities heading into 2027, Jonathan and Akinwunmi Adesina. |
piriton:Tinubu has not captured the South, unless you're talking about the governors, not the electorates. Obi will defeat Tinubu in the South 10 times out of 10 if they contest together. Outside of the Southwest, none of the Southern Politicians were able to deliver their States to Tinubu, except for Wike and we saw how he did it. It was the 5.6m voters from the North that made Tinubu president. Those votes no longer exists for Tinubu and they have potentially been gained by Atiku to a large extent and even Obi, to a lesser extent. Unlike 2023, a 3-horse race would be a disadvantage to Tinubu because he still does not have the South in his grip as he likes to think. Obi is still the face of the Southern candidacy. Tinubu ran on religion (muslim-muslim) in 2023, he cannot suddenly pivot and start seeking to run on region in 2027 just because he has squandered his Northern goodwill. |
Sycophant. He was once louder than this in defence of Jonathan and his wife but he threw them under the bus as soon as they were out of power and could no longer serve his whims and caprices. Ditto, Odili and his wife. He, Akpabio and Orji Uzor Kalu are now falling over themselves to prove who can lick Tinubu's derriere the hardest. Disgraceful. |
Nbotee:Achievement farming. Which one is service lane commissioning again? Why the hurry or obsession to commission something and make so much noise about it? Tinubu still has 2 more years until the end of his first tenure. Maybe because even they themselves can see how lacklustre and underwhelming they have been. That explains why they'll renovate an existing National Monument and a symbol of national unity with inflated contract sums and rename it after a low self-esteem megalomaniac to generate headlines. If this was how previous governments commissioned projects, then it's safe to say that Jonathan constructed the road. |
But the Agbadorians, including Lere Olayinka, his spokesman, were all over the place saying that the clip was fake. What a tough job they have.

Commissioning a self-named 39 billion naira renovation while surrounded by sycophants. No President has ever named National Monuments after themselves. Not even the ones they built from scratch, let alone, the ones renovated. Buhari built Second Niger bridge and declined naming it after himself despite the push by sycophants. Rather, he built railroads and train stations and named it after others like Soyinka, Fashola, etc. Umahi the Sycophant named the airport in Ebonyi after Buhari but he politely declined. That's class! Tinubu is classless and behaving like one who stole the Presidency and he will go down in infamy. One can perceive the feeling of a sense of inadequacy from his behaviour. You can't buy love neither can you copy respect!

The implosion of APC is inevitable. Their ideology is now driven by greed. |
Much ado about nothing. ICC was originally built from scratch by IBB for $29.6 million (about ₦240 million at the exchange rate of the time). He never named it after himself. Obasanjo renovated the place using the same Julius Berger and he never named it after himself. Infact, Obasanjo also built the National Stadium from scratch within 3 years and he never named it after himself. Then enter Tinubu who renovated the place with a whooping 39 billion naira and then proceeds to name it after himself. No matter how you spin it, the act takes away from the President than it adds to him. It reeks of low self-esteem and megalomania. Next, he would renovate the National Stadium and name it after himself. Legacy is earned, not claimed. |

iwaeda:You're looking at a 39 billion naira renovation. They don't even hide the heist anymore. |

Alliswell248:But why stop at 2031? Surely, he can go further than that. Time is a gentleman. No President have ever named National Monuments after themselves. casualobserver:No, don't backoff now. Continue to massage and rationalise the ego and actions of an emerging despot. Tinubu will not rule forever but I'm happy he's setting the precedence. Succeeding Presidents will do worse and suspend the Governor of Lagos and it will be widely cheered by the rest of Nigerians. |
The panic from Tinubu and his Agbadorian camp is palpable. They now fear even their own shadows. I thought all politicians are decamping to the APC? Why the lack of confidence? They now even attempt to police the guests that the vice president can receive. |
