seunmsg:Lol. Atiku ran immediately after Buhari’s 8 years in 2023 and still won Osun, Akwa Ibom and Bayelsa. I know you may claim it's PDP structure but the PDP structures still exists as the Ibadan Declaration showed. If Atiku doesn't win those states again, it will be shared among all 3 candidates with Obi getting a bigger chunk of it. Atiku’s biggest joker remains the Northwestern and Northeastern bloc votes that was shared in 2023 because of the hardwork of the likes of Elrufai and the muslim-muslim factor, both of which no longer exists. |
seunmsg:Don't lie, you are not happy. If Tinubu wants that to happen, he wouldn't have frustrated Obi out of the LP. Obi contesting alone will mean that Tinubu will no longer claim "it's the turn of the South" as a campaign mantra. Obi will slug it out with him again in the South and his Northern buffer is likely gone. Meanwhile, a substantial part of the Southeast will still stick to the ADC while a Seyi Makinde as Vice will also balkanize Southwestern votes in states like Oyo, Osun and Lagos because the Southwest voters remain the most liberal. Where will Tinubu's bloc votes come from in a three-horse race? |
Validated:That's a closet Tinubu supporter right there. They have been activated to indirectly sell Tinubu's candidacy. They are too ashamed to do so directly. Let Tinubu continue indeed. |
SadiqBabaSani:But Tinubu is already a Southerner and is currently President. Why not just let him complete the turn of the South instead since he's doing an excellent job and protecting southern interests? That's what you're indirectly promoting, isn't it? Tinubu's closet supporter too ashamed to openly associate with his candidate. Atiku has never prevented you from exercising your voting franchise. Feel free to vote whomever you want. That's the beauty of democracy. Don't just try to use the courts to stop others from contesting or demand that anyone steps down for your candidate. That will not happen. |
wman:Loyal to Peter Obi? From where to where? Do you mistake mere support for loyalty? Elrufai supported Tinubu in 2023 and did so on his feet because it was the right to do, he never pledged loyalty to Tinubu in doing so. If he supports Obi today, it's not because he's now loyal to Obi. Know the difference please. Watch the video below.
|
You now stalk X users on twitter and watch their every move? Get a life. He was clearly trolling but he will make a better president than the one currently occupying the seat. |
Igbophobia:So where will Obi's votes come from? From the Hausa Fulani Kwankwaso voters in Kano? So a Fulani will never be president but you'll be needing their votes right? Well, Fulanis made Tinubu president and Obi cannot become president without Fulani votes. If Obi can't have it, it will serve the region's interest more to vote Tinubu. Voter apathy will be counterproductive and self-sabotaging. |
Atiku will exercise his democratic right by contesting the primary election under his party. All these threads are just water off a whale's back and a waste of Nairaland bandwidth. Give it up already. |
Parachoko:I'm sure he's crying about it, but he was Vice President for 8 years. Tinubu became president only because 5.6m Northern voters voted for him. Obi defeated him in the South, even in Lagos. |
mrvitalis:So how do you build conscensus around that supposed Southern president of yours? By demanding that the ticket be handed over to you? What's your bargaining chip? Tinubu supported Buhari in 2015 and the North returned the favour by voting him in 2023, despite Obi defeating him across the entire South, including in Lagos. That's leverage. As usual, keep hoping for Nigeria to split but that can only be done with general conscensus. At the moment, other regions are not as enthusiastic about that because they will much rather play the politics. Every other region plays politics to win, only one region appears to play politics to prove a point. |
youneedjesus:How can the primaries be induced when it will be a direct primary? Even you can register and vote for your preferred candidate. Would an aspirant get your account number and wire you dollars for your support? This line of argument is long dead. |
ogmask:Northerners gave him 5.6m votes. Did the other South vote for him. He could have still chosen to make his presidency truly representative of the South but this is clearly not the case. Come 2027, if Obi is not on the ballot and VP slot is too small, the Southeast should rather vote Tinubu than observe apathy. |
Basic123:This goes beyond Atiku or Obi. Tinubu should make his presidency truly about the "South." Buhari did the same across the entire North. There was no segregation. He even delivered the monumental Second Bridge to the East.
|
Basic123:Does it occur to you that Yorubas will also populate the Southeast today if those number of infrastructure were sited in the East over the years? Why then do you ask them to "go back to their region" every electoral cycle? |
mrvitalis:This was the list of FEC projects awarded yesterday. Where is the Southeast on this list? This is under a "Southern government". Since the VP slot is too small for your region as a launchpad, those who thinks it isn't will keep going for it and moving all the projects to their region while your grandchildren are left a share of the debt burden to repay. Let Tinubu continue. It's not as bad as it seems, Shettima is currently Tinubu's Vice and Norrherners are still well represented in the APC. Power will head North in 2031, worse case scenario. When you play politics at the national level, the only question that matters is, "what's in it for my region?" Only one region appear to be getting shortchanged. I wonder why.

Peter Obi is scared of deputising Obi because he fears he would lose some of his base, and quite frankly, he will. However, he fails to consider that he will gain far more by gaining an even far greater support base in the North. It can even be argued that Obi has lost some base, especially in the middlebelt, even if he contests solo. Tinubu didn't win the South but still became president simply because the North gave him substantial votes to overwrite the difference. Obi should also consider the political interest of the Southeast region before making his move. Enough said! |
DomPerignon:I won't immerse myself in the gutter with you, that's your turf. Is Tinubu still banking on the 5.6m votes from the North? Will he still be running on muslim-muslim ticket? Time is a gentleman. |
Tinubu is under intense international scrutiny. The agenda is already being set. Trump is only looking for an excuse to make a move. Tinubu had better not grant him one. Elections are won in Nigeria through the ballots, not through the courts before election day.
|
Since it is clear that some Obidients won't support the ADC if Obi is not the candidate, it will be beneficial for the coalition if Obi runs solo. He won't win but it's important he balkanizes those votes down South and ensures that Tinubu is not able to flip any voter by using the "turn of the South" mantra. Unbeknownst to Obi, his base even in the Southeast will be split three ways with all candidates getting their fair share. Unlike in 2023, a section of the East will still vote pragmatically to maintain a stake in the ADC. |
The joke is on the poster above me. Accusing others of hatred while they openly perpetrate it against others. Okay, Southeasterners should all relocate to Lagos in order to use the infrastructure that are being built with our collective patrimony. This was the list of projects approved by the FEC yesterday. Does this list look fair to you?
|
Is there any state where there is no acrimony in the APC of today? Tinubu overturned internal democracy and entrenched baba sopécracy in order to handpick candidates in every state. He has now invariably set the stage for the final implosion and burial of the APC. So dark the con of man! |
seunmsg:You don't have to lie to drive home your point. The Supreme Court nullified the Ibadan convention but also affirmed the suspension of Anyanwu. This invariably means that the Arabian Tea convention is also a nullity. Wike and his band of jesters can approach the Supreme Court for interpretation if they need more clarity. The real BOT have taken over leadership of the party. |
SuperEagles:Second Niger Bridge was started and completed by a Fulani man from Daura. What has the "turn of the South" president done for the other South outside of Lagos and his region? |
Lol. Number one is false and fake. This must be coming from the Wike camp. |
jaxxy:Not in 2027. If Obi contests solo again and wins the South, where will Tinubu's votes come from? Do you think the North will bail Tinubu out this time again with 5.6m votes? Unless you're counting on Tinubu rigging out Obi in the South which is a possibility. The 2027 elections cannot be rigged in the North. |
Lagos again. Nothing for the other South? This "turn of the South" is looking skewed o. Anyways, the other part of the South claims they are not desperate for the presidency and are succeeding without being president but their unborn children will not be exempted from paying these loans for projects that are sited in Lagos. |
Them no dey telli person. Similar way they will have no option than to declare the ADC the winner of the 2027 election, with or against their will. Amupitan played his cards too early and ended up giving the opposition momentum. Now, his every move will be scrutinised, if at all he survives this. |
His fate is sealed, not uncertain. The PDP BOT and other governance bodies like the governors forum are currently meeting. Seyi is in charge! https://x.com/emmaikumeh/status/2049947344079319365
|
franchasng:Okay, Harvey Spectre. I'm sure the ADC and her members will take their chances. |
Cherrybae:Bring an evidence where the supreme court made any caveat or exception on the non-judisciable nature of Internal affairs of a party by the courts. Also, tell us the constitution that was not followed by the ADC. I'll wait. By the way, no court de-recognise the leadership of the David Mark. When did this happen? You are funny. Tell Tinubu to prepare for elections. Elections are won via the ballots in Nigeria, not through the courts. Atiku and other ADC leaders are currently in the residence of Senator David Mark. https://x.com/emmaikumeh/status/2049946605621506321 |
Sam Amadi is only saying this because Obi has probably set his mind on decamping out of the ADC before this verdict. He should feel free to do so already. Most of the Southeastern politicians with ambitions only want Obi to run solo so they can ride on his wave and win their own elections. |
Shezy001:Yes, for an academic exercise. The Supreme Court still affirmed that courts have no jurisdiction over internal affairs of a party but it cannot give a ruling on a matter that is not yet before it. |
