This is the story of a young boy whose parents were murdered during 2002 riots in Kaduna. He was aged 11 yrs at the time this sad incident took place. His parents, Mr Austine and Mrs Josephine Moses, were missionaries until they met their untimely death, what a sad end. The boy left his house to play football but returned home to see that all his parents had laboured for had been razed down and he would never see his mother and father again. He was taken to London by his Uncle almost immediately after the incident. While in London, he began deploying his football skills. Though his parents were murdered, his passion for football was never killed. He played football for his school and later for a local Tandrige League club until Crystal Palace FC approached him. From that point, his career progressed in leaps and bounds. This player played for England's under 16, 17, 19 and 21 teams between 2005 and 2010 scoring 11 goals for England during this period. He later moved to Wigan Athletic and now he plays for Chelsea. This footballer is called VICTOR MOSES. His story is a touching one, I share his pains. I also share his courage. He had a choice not to step into Nigeria again but he didn't take that option. When the call to serve his fatherland came, Moses dumped England and embraced Nigeria... That is patriotism! Today, we see a Victor Moses bringing joy to every Nigerian including those who may have inspired his parent's death... That is Love! On Sunday, Moses would stand for the National Anthem and pledge allegiance to a country that couldn't defend his parents... That is faith! Moses would deliver the "African Cup of Nations" trophy to Nigeria not minding what had happened in the past... That is forgiveness! Moses rose through bitterness and despair to the limelight of hope and courage. He never gave up on his country. He persevered... That is purpose! If someone like Victor Moses, despite the bitter past, never gave up on Nigeria, then why should we....! ONE NIGERIA HIT "LIKE" And Share This Story with Friends Modretor front page pls let nigerians know how and what it feels to be patriots |

A group claiming to be a faction of the Jamatu Ahlis Sunnah lil daawati wal jihad sect, popularly known as Boko Haram, said on Monday that it decided to ceasefire in Maiduguri because they had come to a realization that Muslims suffer from the attacks. The group is led by one Abu Mohamed Abdulazeez who claims to be the second in command in the sect’s leadership hierarchy. He also claimed to have spoken on behalf of the overall leader of the sect, Abubakar Shekau. Mr. Abdulazeez, who spoke in Hausa language, told journalists in Maiduguri that it decided to end the crisis so that fellow Muslims can live peacefully. “We, on our own, in the top hierarchy of our movement under the leadership of Imam Abubakar Shekau, as well as some of our notable followers agreed that our brethren in Islam, both women and children are suffering unnecessarily; hence we resolved that we should bring this crisis to an end,” he said. Mr. Abdulazeez, who also said he heads the Southern and Northern Borno cells of the sect, told reporters that the announcement of the ceasefire followed a series of meetings it held with the government of Borno State where it got commitments from the government that its members in captivity will be released. “We have also told the government to try to live up to our demands that our members in detention should be released. “We hope the government will not betray us this time around, because we all know that it was because of the continued detentions of our members that this crisis continued for this long. And if government fails to do as it now promised, then this conflict will never have an end,” he said. Mr. Abdulazeez called on the members of the sect to lay down their arms and asked government to arrest anyone who took up arms and carried attacks in the name of the sect. “We, therefore, called on all those that identify themselves with us and our course, to from today lay down their arms. Let every member who hears this announcement relay it to the next member who hasn’t heard. “We have met with the Borno State Government on two occasions and the fallout of the meeting is to ceasefire. Presently we are going to comply with the ceasefire order and by the time we are done with that, then government security agencies can go ahead to arrest whoever they find carrying arms or killing under our names,” he said. A factional group Mr. Idris claimed that the sect is factionalised. But he said that those who matter within the sect have embraced the ceasefire. “Of course there is a faction within us, but the larger faction of our movement is the one in support of this cease fire moves”. “This message, by the Grace of Allah, comes directly from the office of Imam Abubakar Shekau, the supreme leader of Jamaatul ahlil Sunna lidawati wal Jihad. “Moreover, once top members of our group including Imam Abubakar Shekau are in support of the need to cease fire, other smaller factions can be dealt with easily,” Mr. Idris said. Mr. Shekau, had on several occasions announced that the group will not dialogue with the government citing instances where the sect’s appointed emissaries to dialogue were arrested by security agents. He repeated the same stance in the last video uploaded on online video sharing site -you tube – last October. The Federal Government had also stated its difficulty in negotiating with the sect. In a media chat in November last year, Mr. Jonathan said no form of dialogue was taking place because the sect is faceless. However, in an interview with Aljazeera last week Mr. Jonathan acknowledged that “some NGOs and Journalists are reaching out to Boko Haram.” |
Indecent dressing is a MORAL issue which is often a function of personal or specific societal perception while rape, in any human dispensation is a CRIME. Nothing, i repeat, NOTHING in this world can ever justify rape! If we all decide to continue raping ladies who are 'indecently' dressed, i wonder what moral or legal defence that will avail us! Let's stop playing on words, besides murder, the worst offence that can be committed against a woman is rape, so indecent dressing is not, and cannot be a defence to the heinous crime! |

If Laura, Kate and Sarah go out for lunch, they will call each other Laura, Kate and Sarah If Mike, Dave and John go out, they will affectionately refer to each other as Fat Boy, Godzilla and Four-eyes. EATING OUT When the bill arrives, Mike, Dave and John will each throw in $20, even though it’s only for $32.50. None of them will have anything smaller and none will actually admit they want change back. When the girls get their bill, out come the pocket calculators. BATHROOMS A man has six items in his bathroom: toothbrush and toothpaste, shaving cream, razor, a bar of soap, and a towel The average number of items in the typical woman’s bathroom is 337. A man would not be able to identify more than 20 of these items. ARGUMENTS A woman has the last word in any argument. Anything a man says after that is the beginning of a new argument. FUTURE A woman worries about the future until she gets a husband. A man never worries about the future until he gets a wife. SUCCESS A successful man is one who makes more money than his wife can spend. A successful woman is one who can find such a man. MARRIAGE A woman marries a man expecting he will change, but he doesn’t. A man marries a woman expecting that she won’t change, but she does. DRESSING UP A woman will dress up to go shopping, water the plants, empty the trash, answer the phone, read a book, and get the mail. A man will dress up for weddings and funerals. NATURAL Men wake up as good- looking as they went to bed. Women somehow deteriorate during the night. OFFSPRING Ah, children. A woman knows all about her children. She knows about dentist appointments and , best friends, favorite foods, secret fears and hopes and dreams. A man is vaguely aware of some short people living in the house. THOUGHT FOR THE DAY A married man should forget his mistakes. There’s no use in two people remembering the same thing! |

"I will fight GEJ if he does not settle me.’ Period! Do you want me to die with my 18 children in hunger? No way!" Dokubo "So, if a man takes food from my mouth I should support him? What are you saying now? So if one Editor in National Mirror fires you today would you smile at him? Why should I not expect what belongs to me, that Otedola should expect? That Wale Tinubu should expect? That Dangote should expect? That Adenuga should expect, but me at 50 years I should not expect? That Jonathan should eat in the Villa and fill with excess and I should not eat? And I should support him; ‘I no shame for that one. If he no give me wetin be my own, I go fight am.’ Period! There is no two ways about it. Do you want me to die with my 18 children in hunger? No way! I am too prominent in this struggle; I have made some sacrifices. I did not emerge from the blue. I was the Vice-President of IYC, I was Deputy President of IYC and I was President. I started the armed struggle from the creek. Nobody wins and hands it over to people. That is why those who were at the cadre of revolutions in North Korea, in China and elsewhere that are pushed forward for leadership. So, nobody can push me around; it is not possible. I don’t expect anything from Jonathan. I demand what belongs to me. If he doesn’t give me, I will fight."-Alhaji Mujaheed Asari-Dokubo
