According to Punch new papers, when Buhari was confronted with the fact that Nigeria has large populations of both Muslims and Christians and that some Christians are complaining that he is giving Islamic identity to the country by his actions, Buhari wondered why the Christians who are complaining have not deemed it fit to confront members of Boko Haram in the North East or militants in the South South.

“Why can’t those Christians that complained go and fight terrorism in Nigeria or fight the militancy in the South. It’s Nigeria that matters, not the opinion of some religious bigots,” he declared.

Interestingly, Nigeria armed forces are made up of both Christians and Muslims and some others who are traditionalists. These men and women have been fighting the terrorists, I mean Islamic terrorists in the last six to seven years. Their identity have remained Nigeria Army, Nigeria Airforce, Nigeria Police Force, etc. I recall that Nigeria led a coalition of The Economic Community of West African States Monitoring Group (ECOMOG) to restore peace in Liberia and Sierra Leone, they were not called Nigerian Armed Forces, rather ECOMOG soldiers.

The question the president and his supporters need to answer are:
How would the Islamic Coalition Forces be called? An Islamic coalition forces? Islamic Army or Jihadists Army?
Would the men and women to be drafted into this force be exclusive Muslims?
How would a Christian or other non-Muslim soldiers feel being called Islamic Soldiers or Airforce men?
Would the Nigeria soldier be allowed to observe his/her Christian faith, pray, call the name of Jesus?
Would the women be allowed to dress as they do now in the Nigeria Armed Forces?
Would the men be allowed to relish the Pork that they see as delicacy?

If these issues do not matter because these men and women signed up to be soldiers, etc, how about the feelings of over 80 Million Christians and non-Islamic adherents in Nigeria? Does the president and his supporters not see that their feelings are literally being violated?

Now, who is a bigot?? According to dictionary definition, Bigotry is "intolerance toward those who hold different opinions from oneself." By inference, a BIGOT is someone who is intolerance towards those who hold different opinion from himself. If the world and especially the Muslim world are calling the likes of Donald Trump a Bigot for his views about Muslims, what does the president think that over 80 million Christians would think of him? I think the PRESIDENT AND HIS SUPPORTERS ARE THE BIGOTS here.

A pensioner, Mrs. Rose Arabameh Julius, has donated her monthly pension of Ten thousand naira (N10,000) to support the Buhari administration’s war against corruption.

Mrs. Julius, who retired as a cleaner from the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, also promised to contribute N1,000 every month out of her pension towards the rehabilitation of Internally Displaced Persons.

She said that she was making the donation because she was convinced that President Muhammadu Buhari is a tested man of integrity who can be trusted to restore the lost glory of Nigeria and drastically curb corruption in the country.

According to a statement signed by Abiodun Oladunjoye on behalf of the Special Adviser to the President Media & Publicity, Femi Adesina, the pensioner also commended the President’s efforts to end the Boko Haram insurgency and rehabilitate internally displaced persons.

Receiving the donation on behalf of President Buhari, the Special Adviser to the President (Media & Publicity), Mr. Femi Adesina thanked Mrs. Julius for her faith in the Buhari administration.

“We have a pact with Nigerians to change things for the better and we are on the right track. President Buhari and his team are working tirelessly to revamp the economy, combat terrorism and curb corruption,” Adesina said.

Economy/Exchange rate:
The exchange rate in 1999 was N21.89 (official) and N89 (Parallel Market). In 16 years, the Naira depreciated from N89.00 to N200, that is 125% rise in 16 year. The average rise per year therefore is 7.8%. Under APC government, the rate depreciated from N200 to N400, that 100% rise in 9 months.

Boko Haram: Again you have very limited knowledge of history or poor at that. I will be brief on this. "Religious violence in Nigeria refers to Christian-Muslim strife in modern Nigeria, which can be traced back to 1953. Today, religious violence is dominated by the Boko Haram insurgency, which aims to impose Sharia on the northern parts of the country" - Wikipedia. Since 1953, Nigeria has grappled with issues of Religious radicalism, especially from the North. The present Boko Haram was encouraged by the introduction of Sharia by largely APP/ANPP/CPC government (around 2000), who are today APC president, governors, ministers, senators, etc who thought to destroy Obasanjo's government with the Sharia issue. Free & fair elections:
Talking about INCONCLUSIVENESS, APC government have the record of not being able to manage a single Local government election (Southern Ijaw case). Kogi was inconclusive, Bayelsa was inconclusive, even Benue South was headed for inconclusiveness if not for the smart move by INEC. Have you not seen that the PDP under Jonathan did a good job with the 2015 general elections? If you do not know, the outside world knows. The Commonwealth have since appointed him their chief elections observer to usher in best in class elections. It is on record that the PDP was the only party to have conducted Civilian to Civilian election in Nigeria. Again the only party to have conducted an election where the incumbent civilian president handed over successfully to an opposition without court processes. We are waiting to see how APC will perform soon. In all their elections, the tribunals must adjudicate upto supreme court. That is the sign of "sore losers".

It is really sad that our president does not have an inkling about the national budget he presented to the NASS. The same way he was surprised at the media chat in January 2016, the president even goofed the more this time around. Firstly, I want to make some clarification. At no time did any court "free or clear" Mr Nnamdi Kanu of any charge against him. What Justice Ademola of the FHC(Abuja) did was to vacate the order it first granted to DSS to detain Kanu for three months. The court vacated the order on the ground that it was unconstitutional to hold a suspect in detention for more than three months without charging such suspect to court. In the words of the learned judge;



What the DSS simply did was to detain Kanu and file case in court on charges that borders on treason. In other words, Kanu is no longer being detained without trial as it was before. It is left for him to argue his innocence with the judge. If the DSS had breached the court ruling, the judge would have summoned them for contempt.

Did Kanu Really Commit Treason?
What constitute treason in Nigeria? The offence of treason can be found in sections 37 to 49 of the Nigeria criminal code.

According to section 37(1) of the Nigeria criminal code; Any person who levies war against the State, in order to intimidate or overawe the President or the Governor of a State, is guilty of treason, and is liable to the punishment of death. Section 37(2) further stated that Any person conspiring
with any person, either within or without Nigeria, to levy war against the State with intent to cause such levying of war as would be treason if committed by a citizen of Nigeria, is guilty of treason and is liable to the punishment of death:.

Through radio biafra, Kanu preached inciting messages and even went as far as soliciting for arms with intent to wage war against the State. This was captured in a video that has gone viral. I think that breached section 37(2) of Nigeria criminal code(in my opinion). It is however left for the judge to make pronouncement.
