PoliticsRe: Buhari Never Promised To Make One Naira Equal To A Dollar by Amitex(m): 9:50pm On Apr 03, 2015
egift:
Provide us any evidence of actual quote from Buhari that One Naira will be equal to a dollar. Below is what Buhari said:
“It is sad that the value of the naira has dropped to more than N230 to one dollar; this does not speak well for the nation’s economy,’’

So how does a comment on the sad state of Naira dropping against dollar, equal a vow to make them equal? Tell us and stop repeating the headlines and comments of a paid journalist.

Note: It is not impossible. In Economics, it is called Re-denomination. Ghana did it. But the fact is, Buhari did not make the claim the the journalist attributed to him. Am glad even NTA and AIT are back to reality after months of misinformation.
It is damn too early to start defending that clueless statement from president-elect. Any attempt to fraudulently hoodwink us with grammar will not work. I am saving my money so that soon, very soon I can buy houses in New York. At least with N2m ($2m), I can own a good home in New York.

PoliticsRe: Jonathan Is Not A Hero – Oby Ezekwesili by Amitex(m): 9:05pm On Apr 03, 2015
Monogamy:
Leader of the Bring Back Our Girls group and former minister of education, Mrs. Oby Ezekwesili, has said that President Goodluck Jonathan does not deserve the hero tittle for accepting defeat in the just concluded presidential poll.

DAILY POST reports Jonathan, before the INEC chairman could announce the final result of last Saturday’s presidential election, had called General Buhari to congratulate him for winning the election.

Following his decision, many Nigerians have been praising the president for saving the entire nation from disaster.

However, Ezekwesili says if only Nigerians knew the extent of damage President Jonathan has done to Nigeria, they won’t hero worship him.

She took to her Twitter page on Thursday, to air her views on the recently held presidential election.

She tweeted: “When a review of President Jonathan’s administration is done, we’ll realize how much damage sycophancy did to governance. Example? Chibok Girls,” she wrote.

“A leader must be without an inordinate desire to be serenaded with ‘good news’ or their team will never let them know the true state of affairs.

“An environment that rewards sycophancy encourages team to withhold accurate ‘bad’ news (problems) from the leader while serving up ‘good news’.

” When a leader makes hero worshiping costly to those who engage in it, he/she deprives the ‘sellers’ market to set the ‘Mediocrity Benchmark.’

“A critical success factor in governance is for the leader to both in word and deed convey a culture that abhors sycophancy. No hero worshiping.”

PoliticsNow That Change Has Come! When Are We To Start Expecting N5K??? by Amitex(op): 8:49pm On Apr 03, 2015
Fellow Nigeria youth, the change we all clamoured for has come! Hurray!!! Now is the time to start work, transition committee, anti-corruption committee.

One important aspect of the APC campaign promise is N5000.00 for every Nigerian youth. This CANNOT and should NOT be wished-away. All Nigerian youth should be ready to receive this allowance as long as GMB is president. While Senators and House of representative members are already calculating the booties they will be receiving as Housing, furniture, car, constituency, etc. allowances, the Nigerian youth should be looking forward to their share. For the avoidance of doubts, this is a simple calculation and your entitlements:

2015 - N35,000 (June - December 2015)
2016 - N60,000 (January - December 2016)
2017 - N60,000 (January - December 2017)
2018 - N60,000 (January - December 2018)
2019 - N25,000 (January - May 2019)

The CHANGE agenda MUST begin on May 29, 2015. Whatever settling down that is needed should be done now. Two months of transition planning is a long time.

SAI BUHARI grin SAI N5k per month grin grin grin
PoliticsRe: Return Jonathan Or Forget One Nigeria – Ijaw People by Amitex(m): 2:46pm On Jan 24, 2015
This is a real threat, if you do not know, Biafra is in the heart of every Ibo man. Ijaws are the fourth largest group in Nigeria. They helped Nigeria troop to dislodge Biafra in 1967-1970 Civil war. If they form alliance with Ibos to form a nation, then the Yorubas will have to either serve the Gambaris or secede. However, the Yoruba cannot achieve Oduduwa Republic only Musiwa has such dream.

I for one support that this elections be postponed to douse tensions. In fact as a nation we deceive ourselves too much. It is no gainsaying that this Union is outdated and needs to be reborn or destroyed. Otherwise why would it be morally right for a presidential candidate to be forging academic credentials and people are shout sai Buhari? Are we now this corrupt that we accept evil in the name of change?

[size=13pt]The first Executive president of Nigeria Alhaji Shehu Usman Aliyu Shagari has broken his silence after 32years of overthrown by General Mohammadu Buhari

This are what he said to AIT news reporter in Sokoto state yesterday and i humbly quote

"Jonathan may not be the best, but I can mention 3 to 4 breakthrough in Nigeria that occurred under his regime.

Under this administration, train is now back in Nigeria after about 30yrs of neglect (infact, my 27years old grandchild boarded train for the first time in his life in 2014)

First Government to construct modern Amajiri schools & 12 Universities.

First Government to construct cargo Airports & ensure all zone in Nigeria has an Int'l airport.

First Government to eradicate the high level corruption in the distribution of fertiliser.

And the very first Government to start diversifying Nigeria economy back to agric after Nigeria lost its agricultural glory in the 70s.

Now I ask, what are Buhari DEVELOPMENTAL strides as HEAD OF STATE? "

PYO, I am totally disappointed in you! As my pastor I expected better from you. Guess you were lucky your audience at Ikorodu were all novice. So you are saying you provide every street with their own IPP? This is how you intend to power Nigeria 24/7? Haba, papa! Not so now. Politics is very bad! Do you remember your teaching about pulpit and ministerial ethics? Or do they end on the church door? Or is it APC that is the problem? BTW why ask self, are you a rural dweller or do you use firewood to cook? PDP will do their door to door campaign with it. If they distribute them now, APC will tell people lies. But when campaigns and noise making are over. That is when PDP strike. Elections are strategically planned. Not pulling over to buy boli (roasted plantain) on the roadside.

PoliticsRe: Buhari Claimed He Had His Certificates Intact In Previous Elections - Agbakoba by Amitex(m): 2:34pm On Jan 17, 2015
babaolofin:
Mike Ozekome, Olisa Agbakoba and some other few lawyers from the same two regional blocs currently feeding fat on impoverished Nigerian economy have been looking at other ways of making the election easy for Jonathan.

In the history of Nigeria and even in the history of South Africa since the removal of apartheid, A major political party has never made it a matter of must for a non opposing presidential aspirant. I watched as PDP through Anyim, Muazu and Mark refused any other entrant into the race except GEJ. They now make a mockery of the whole situation having frustrated other aspirants earlier and just few days to the closure of the excercise, Tafawa Balewa grandson and one or two other aspirants came forward and later withdrew from the race because of earlier observation by the international community over the refusal of PDP secretariat to give them presidential election primary application form. The PDP secretariat said the party has adopted GEJ as her sole candidate.

In 2011, GEJ climbed the back of OBJ and headed for primary against the Turaki Adamawa (Alh. Atiku). The Turaki front, the PDM and SDP ground soldiers were humiliated. He enjoyed the victory till date. Afterward, other people have joined him. He embarrassed and humiliated the South West, till date the major projects in South West (Lagos - Ibadan and Ore - Sagamu) with Loan taken through infrastructured bank for part financed is still dragging. These roads could not be completed when crude was sold at over 100 dollar/barrel
now with crude variation at between 45 - 55 dollar, we have to rely on external loan and introduction of toll gates to recoup the money.
He should point to what he has done in South West.

Having succeeded as the only candidate for the PDP, the next move is to make him either adopted by other political parties or disqualify the major opposition party aspirant thereby making him the sole candidate for the election.

Abacha with the connivance of people like Jim Nwobodo was adopted by all political parties for presidential election in 1998. He died before the election.

OBJ contested with Ekwueme and others, though Ekwueme is a major contender. During NPN, SDP and NRC and even in first republic, Nigeria has never witnessed an autocratic single party/single candidate democracy. Having rode through OBJ in 2010/2011 and today, he claimed God never used anybody to assist him, he said GOD himself is his Godfather only angels and holy spirit fought for him to the presidency.

The Almighty God and the gods of Nigeria where OBJ fought WAR and served and even his son in Army sustained bullet injury in an encounter with Boko Haram will judge him and Obj. Thousands of ants can not lift a sugar, the hands of a child cannot enclosed an Iginla tree, they will only be confusing themselves. Egberun eera o gbe sugar kan, Owo omode oka igi ose, won a a ma d'oyi kan ni. A river that forgets his source will definitely dry.

When a battle get to a war front there is no any technicality to disqualify your opponent other than to fight to victory or to perish. Also, when a boxing or wrestling tournament has gotten to ring stage,, all the contenders need to do is to practicalise all the boasts they have made before the tournament by beating there opponents.

Only lazy, timid, coward and unserious person look for opponent disqualification at knockout stage. If APC is still talking about GEJ disqualification having been sworn - in as president two (2) times, then, it means they are not serious.

I had a short career though in the modern Nigeria, I know that only photocopy of credentials are collected by authority during screening/interview and enlistment. In the colonial or post colonial military era and in some cases when photocopiers are not available and no business center, It means the authority collects the original, photocopy it and return it to the cadet (this is my personal assumption). A military career that spans many years of relocation and training local and abroad, anything could have happened. If Obj or Gen Adeyinka cannot find the original school certificates does that means they are not educated up to school certificate level?
Your story is too long. But I patiently read through.

Go to NASA site and watch how rockets are launched. A rocket needs the propeller to take off/lifted off the ground. After it achieve its on momentum and in space, it discards the propeller and focus on its assignment. OBJ was GEJ propeller. As a rocket, GEJ is charting his own course for the good of Nigerians (you and I). The propeller has tried and it is time to discard it.
As for candidates disqualification, no one wants that to happen, but the laws of the land must be obeyed. If you are coming to equity, you come with clean hands. You cannot fight corruption if your foundation was laid in corruption. All we ask from Buhari is his certificate that qualified him to join NDA. PERIOD!!! OR IS THiS TOO MUCH TO ASK FROM A PROSPECTIVE PRESIDENThuh

INEC is not the interpreter of the laws, the court are. For me I know PDP will win anytime. It is so bad for APC because when they lose, going to court will be bad market. PDP will cash in on the certificates saga in court that APC and Buhari will be exhausted and finished.
As far as we can see, PDP now have good ground to rig as much as possible and then wait for the courts. Too bad for Tinubu. He may be the biggest loser as Lagos will fall on 28 February 2015. The bandwagon effect will sweep through the South West, except Amosu.

Moreover,it is a monumental deceit to claim that GEJ transformed the economy to be the largest in Africa. What was done was just to rebase the economy(something similar to revaluation of assets) so that the GDP now becomes a bigger figure. It's like conducting population census only to find out that the population has doubled, and then claiming that GEJ's doubled Nigeria's population!!!!

Previous governments never bothered about rebasing(revaluing )the GDP because it does not connote economic development,it's just a mere updating of figures! Also the size of the economy is mainly(about 85%) because of oil exports. Now that the oil prices have dropped by more than 50%,our GDP would also have reduced drastically along that path!

HABA Nigerians, what is this man serving ushuh Please read except from hos interview with Thisday Newspapers.

...
Question:So can we deal with security without tackling corruption? When you came to power last time, you were known for your fight against corruption. Today, it’s a different kind of fight. In your party, the APC, there are many people accused of corruption, so how do you first put your house in order and then deal with the hydra-headed issue of corruption?

I think the priority has to be the other way round, we have to put the country in order first. In attempting to put the country in order, it is going to be a terrible situation for whoever wins and I pity whoever succeeds President Jonathan, even if it were to be myself. But this is what we can do; the practical way to tackle corruption is to draw a line, because institutions have been compromised. We cannot go on the way we did in the military in 1983 to fight corruption. This time around, you cannot do it that way because most of the institutions have been compromised. The person you will depend on as the auditor to go and check the CBN, maybe he has got some substantial part of the deal. These are the facts on the ground. So what you do is to persuade them and tell them to help to amend it. You have drawn a line, part of these are in courts and you cannot interfere with the judiciary, no matter how bad you believe the judiciary is. Constitutionally or otherwise, you have to leave the judiciary, you cannot bring better judges and put them on the job over night. It takes generations. So you have to appeal to their conscience and prove to them that you are serious and that cases in the courts that you are interested in them but let the judiciary continue. Cases that have been struck out, the government will move forward but any case that comes up will be handed over to the judiciary. But to say that you are going to investigate, I am afraid that government will not last a quarter because the institutions have been compromised.

Question:So there is no capacity to investigate corruption and what you are proposing is to draw a line going forward?

Yes, to be honest, the capacity is not there because as I said, institutions have been compromised but if you say I am not going to participate in corruption, I am not going to tolerate it from day one, I hope the people will believe it and those that have cases in court have to give way so that people that have not been caught because God help those caught helping themselves then. We can deal with them. But as I said, you cannot go head on as we did under the military.

Question:Essentially to understand you sir, so all these governors who are alleged to be corrupt, all these senators and others, you are drawing the line. Is that amnesty for corruption? Don't you think that you are also being a victim of your past, that something you did successfully, that because you were criticised, you are now afraid to do it again?

No, I am not afraid. If I was afraid the day they attempted to bomb me, I would not have felt like continuing. But I felt I have done nothing wrong other than telling the truth where I find it serious enough to tell the truth. The important thing is that I mentioned it, you don't have the capacity to catch the big thieves right now, you don't have the capacity. You have to do it gradually because, as I said before, all the institutions have been compromised. Do you know that I said it about 18 months ago, I think it was at a book launch where I said in my own area in Nigeria, people hardly go to the police. If they are cheated or something, once they are alive, they say 'God dey' and they continue with life because they cannot afford justice, they cannot get it. Virtually the whole country has reached that stage.

Question:How do you reconcile your party’s position to ensure zero tolerance for corruption with the approach you have decided to adopt on corruption?

[b]No, I said that as far as corruption is concerned I will not tolerate it from the day I take charge of governance. But those cases that are in courts, they will continue but as we move forward, cases that come up will be handed over to the judiciary.
