A lot has changed for him since then.
He had a Peripheral Vascular Disease of the femoral artery secondary to an obstruction caused by a bullet that was lodged in his thigh during his military days this for which he was flown to Ghana courtesy of the current president Madda Bio who was his chief minister when he Captain Strasser was Head of State. He had a successful surgery done followed with rehabilitation and upon his return a month ago, the president built him a house as gift (from his personal income) and he's now been properly cared for. He also now has bodyguards as well and a source of income earning.
The problem was that the constitution doesn't make room for the welfare of former Head of state. It only caters for elected officials or those who who are constitutionally appointed as presidents,Vice etc.. Strasser became head of state through a coup d'etat in 1992.

The Nigerians are doing it with ease and no noise.
If it were Ghana who're doing just a fraction of this , they won't have allowed the whole of Afrca to rest with their unnecessary trumpet blowing.

Breaking news: Govt and FIFA set to release new roadmap on SLFA saga today.

World’s football governing body FIFA, and the Sierra Leone government are to redesign and release a new joint roadmap in a bid to resolve the ongoing impasse surrounding the country’s football.

Following a productive meeting in Zurich on Wednesday between Fifa and a high-powered Sierra Leone delegation led by the Vice President, a communiqué on the way forward is expected to be out today.

A source who attended the meeting in Zurich has confirmed to FootballSierraLeone.net that the expected communiqué will be the only legal document in resolving the football impasse in the country.

It’s still unclear whether the SLFA boss Isha Johnsen and Sec-gen Chris Kamara will be reinstated as stipulated by Fifa.

“The suspension will be lifted once the SLFA and its recognised leadership have confirmed to Fifa that the SLFA administration, premises, accounts and communication channels are under their control once again,” Fifa reiterated.

Fifa suspended Sierra Leone from international football two weeks ago because of alleged government interference in the running of the country’s football association.

Confederation of African Football (CAF) cancelled Sierra Leone 2019 Africa Cup of Nations doubleheader against Ghana due to the FIFA ban on the West African nation.

However, CAF did not state whether Ghana would be awarded a win for the suspended Kumasi qualifier that was slated for October 11 or if Sierra Leone will be allowed to continue in the qualifiers when they are reinstated by FIFA.
