Fellow nairalanders join us in prayer for the repose of the soul of my father inlaw who died this morning. He was healthy yesterday, he finished furnishing their new duplex in the village last week for Christmas celebration and had plan to travel to the village with his family on the 28th, December . He was in charge of the work being done in his sons house . On the 28th November 2019 his wife leg was amputated @ FMC because of diabetes effects. Only for him to sleep yesterday and never woke up this morning. The worst is that my wife is heavily pregnant and her younger sister out of fear send her message immediately at 5am that their dad is no more. She is very close to her dad infact she was a middle man between her dad and brothers. She is crying too much. That is my fear. Even the mother case is also delicate because she is yet to know that her loving husband is dead. Pray for my family.

PENGASSAN shut petroleum institute in Delta

Educational activities have been disrupted with students hurriedly packing their belongings to leave the school premises as a result of the shutting down of the Petroleum Training Institute at Effurun, in Uvwie local government area of Delta state by the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) who are protesting over their welfare.
The oil workers union who had issued several ultimatums to the school management to meet their demands with no response, took everyone unaware as they stormed the school premises dressed in red outfit with placards calling for the sack of the school principal and Director of Finance over alleged corruption practice.
Addressing newsmen as union members embark on solidarity march around the school premises, the chairman of PENGASSAN in the institution Prince Audu  Oshiokhemele stressed on the need for the protest.
Meanwhile, students from the Petroleum Training Institute were seen preparing to leave the premises as the protest continues. The chairman accuses management of alleged corruption despite series of letters to Anti-corruption agencies.
The principal of the institution Professor Sunny Iyuke did not respond to calls and messages sent to his number as at the time of filing this report, while the Public Relations Officer of the institution Mr. Brown Ukanefimoni declined to comment on the allegation.
The protesting PENGASSAN members have promised not to vacate the school until their demands are met, while the students who came from different parts of the country are most affected by the action.

The newspaper quoted Mahrez friends as saying that Wilder and Rita were ‘chatting intently’ at boxer’s VIP table in the trendy Manchester nightspot, popular among big-spending footballers and WAGS.
“They were chatting intently, laughing and joking. You could see there was chemistry there and a real connection,” a source told The Sun.

She knew who he was but wasn’t starstruck and soon the pair were enjoying an in depth conversation, in full view of Mahrez’s teammates and other revellers.
“Word soon got back to Riyad about what had happened. He knew about it by early the next morning. Riyad was shocked and a bit upset about it — and he couldn’t get his head around what was going on,’ the newspaper’s source added.

I have been reading with so much disdain, the recent tantrums thrown on divorced ladies on this platform recently. I may not have followed every comment and reply, but majority I read from guy seems to shame the ladies. This is very wrong.

There is nothing dehumanizing or stigmatizing about a divorced lady coming out to say she was divorced. There is nothing glorifying managing an unmanageable husband or wife in a matrimonial home. I have rarely read people shame a divorced man, or are their stigma different?

The truth is simple, its better to live alive or stay and die, and its very very simple, simpler than staying.

As a legal practitioner, I have had the opportunity to handle/witness several divorce cases, and I'm sure to say its better to leave alive.

65% of divorce cases in Nigerian courts today are instituted by ladies who couldn't tolerate a toxic marriage any longer. This simply means, there is something certainly wrong with men of today, or both.

Men have become more randy, intolerant and abusive than before.

Let's watch how we shame somebody, especially in a situation we haven't been involved in before.

Remember the goal is to be alive and happy, married or single.
