Greystone: Considering the present economic situation and perpetual inflation in this country, a “good” take home salary in my opinion is at least the naira equivalent of $1000.
NB: I strongly advise the Government to start paying our salaries in US Dollars. . |

Car Talk › Re: Toyota Camry Pencil Lite Or Peugeot 206 by amnesty7: 10:15pm On Sep 30, 2023 |
Chokehold: That was before ⛽️ hit 610 per liter. Put a keg on a Peugeot 206 and a keg on any camry, the Peugeot 206 goes first. The only place the camry wins is "space" and speed which of course is determined by engine displacement/capacity and not "all other areas". It is high time we start taking car care serious and stop the archaic demonization of some car brands.
I bought my Peugeot 206 seven years ago and it is still as reliable as a horse. Bought with 131,540km on the ODO and currently on 218,010km as at last night. No faults, only oil change, brake pads, lsway bars and of course tie-rods and ball joints due to the sorry nature of our roads. I'm not done flogging this little demon I hope to attain 400 000km on the ODO because it gets what it needs. Please if you don't mind, I want to ask some questions privately on the 206. May I send an email? |

Dear fellow poets and critics, kindly help me with your honest opinion about my poem below. Thank you.
HER LOVELY EYES
Each eye a gateway to her heart And I cannot but both admire: Lovely and calm, a Divine fine art Igniting yet some peaceful fire.
The eyes, each with a lovely curve, Give more glamour to her face. They are an emblem of her love, Of her charm and of her grace.

Politics › Re: ECOWAS Says 'D-Day' Set For Possible Niger Intervention by amnesty7: 9:27am On Aug 19, 2023 |
Rostikol: This is a strategic war for protection of interests, including (surprise surprise) African interests. The US, EU and Nigeria share the same interest in this (probable) war - Nigeria's 15 billion dollar tran-Sahara gas pipeline connecting Nigerian gas to the EU, which passes through Niger and Algeria into Europe, is under construction. It could triple Nigeria's annual income when completed. Russia has an opposing interest, and the military junta in Niger are Russian allies. After the recent bombing of the Russian pipeline supplying the EU with gas, a major hit on Russia's economy, it is pretty clear a Kremlin - backed junta in Niger will not let the Trans-Sahara gas pipeline to Europe happen. The EU want the pipeline to reduce dependence on Russian supplies. The other ECOWAS nations have an interest, as they wish to deter military intervention in their own countries. The 'coup contagion' as they call it. So this whole thing is far more complex than the simple popular narrative of 'ECOWAS fighting for imperialist interests'. And my prayer still remains: it shall not be well with all these war mongers. |
Politics › Re: ECOWAS Says 'D-Day' Set For Possible Niger Intervention by amnesty7: 6:30am On Aug 19, 2023 |
Kingosytex: Yeah! Go and protect the interests of the imperialists who have kept you in bondage for centuries. Go and clear the path for the imperialists to keep looting the natural resources unhindered. Go and destabilize the whole place turn it to war front so your imperialists will have an avenue of making mad money by selling arms and ammunition. People dey happy say one puppet president was removed and outsiders dey cry for dem. If Niger people say na military rule dem want then let dem be. It shall not be well with any African who will help imperialists against his own people. |

godwon01: . No other reasons. Just to collect enough money to last them till the end of their life. Don't forget the fact that some of these players are in their twilight. They had spent their playing days in Europe and nothing to show off again. If they stay in Europe , they will be bench for the up coming stars. So players like Neymar and Mane are spent? You're either a joker or a hater or both. |
