Those students protesting in Alberta were from Portage College, and if you check, you'll see that the school is not eligible for a PGWP.

Please, in everything you do, always make sure that both your school and your program are eligible for a PGWP. You don't want to spend $45,000 CAD on your education only for it to go to waste because you are not eligible for a Post-Graduation Work Permit.

The proof of funds is about $40,000 CAD, while your school fees are $21,000 CAD and the required living expenses are $22,895 CAD.

That's very tight might be good but, in my opinion, not enough. Ideally, you should have a little more than $40,000 CAD around $45,000 CAD at a minimum, or $50,000 CAD if possible.

Also, I would advise against choosing a one-year program unless you already plan to enroll in another one-year program after completing the first.

If you don't mind me asking, have you confirmed that your school and program are eligible for a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP)?

Things like your current job, your level of education, the course you studied, and your work experience all matter.

Healthcare is a very broad field, so you need to do a little research to see where you fit in based on your background and interests.

Also, good job opportunities are never guaranteed dont be like Badadvisor who did not do ground research before moving to Canada.

Before you apply to any school, make sure the program is eligible for a Post-Graduation Work Permit.

As long as it's the same amount the school asked you to pay as the acceptance fee, you will be fine. If you end up not getting the visa God Forbid, the school will refund the accetance fee back, so there's no need to worry about that.....

As for the timeline, you've done everything you can. Unfortunately, no one can make IRCC process applications faster. Hopefully, you will receive a response before next month. Just keep your hopes up, and don't let IRCC give you high blood pressure.

The truth is, the truth will always remain the truth.

The average tuition for a 2-year program in Canada is about CAD $45,000, ( except you go for the few cheaper schools but you have to be careful about the type of cheap school you select) and the required living expenses for one person are approximately CAD $22,895.

Now do the math.....

You should consider targeting Social Services occupations when choosing a program.

In my opinion, you'll have a better chance of receiving an Invitation to Apply for permanent residence through Express Entry than if you pursue another master's degree in Mass Communication.

I am just being practical here. Some programs you could consider include:

Social Service Worker
Community and Justice Services
Child and Youth Care
Addictions and Mental Health
Developmental Services Worker
Behavioural Science
Community Support Worker

At the end of the day, everyone is free to make their own decision. I am simply sharing what I am seeing based on the current immigration and job market. If your goal is to study in Canada and eventually obtain permanent residence, these programs may put you in a stronger position than another Mass Communication degree.

Also, keep in mind that Social Services occupations is currently one of the category-based selection groups for Express Entry.

My nephew graduated from Uniben and they made him lose his admission Newfoundland last year due to their inability to send his transvript Despite several requests. Though he has the soft copy and also a sealed copy he got from the exams and records unit.

Please don't put yourself under unnecessary pressure. As a student working only 24 hours per week during the academic term and earning minimum wage, saving CAD 20,000 within a year may be quite difficult, in my opinion. I'm not trying to discourage you I just don't want to sugarcoat the reality.

As for your other question, it's best to ask your school directly. They will be able to give you the most accurate answer since every institution has its own policies.

Generally, you should be able to defer your admission while keeping your tuition deposit on file, but please confirm this with your school...

Do you simply want to earn a master's degree in Canada, or is your goal to get an education, work for a few years, and eventually apply for permanent residency (PR)?

If your plan is to work and then qualify for PR, I don't want to be harsh, but I do want to be honest with you. Media, Marketing, and Advertising are generally not programs that lead to jobs that qualify for many of Canada's category-based Express Entry draws. As I asked earlier, it really depends on what you want to achieve in Canada...

I am not discouraging you from coming to Canada. I just want you to do more research on programs that could better position you for success after graduation, especially if your long-term goal is employment and permanent residency.

As for cheaper schools, "cheap" is relative. What is affordable for you may not be affordable for me. However, in general, for master's programs, Memorial University is one of the most affordable universities in Canada

If you're looking at colleges, some of the more affordable are College of the North Atlantic, Lambton College, Fanshawe College, Bow Valley College

so do small research by yourself ask queations here people that know more than me are here also do not set yourself up to fail in the long run PLEASE
