In Wike's voice, you dey smoke Igbo.

SmartGadgetz:
If LP gets a significant amount of governors to win in today's election let's say 10-20 states, that would help in the pursuit of justice for the rascality and theft that happened in the presidential election.

If that happens, all the LP governors will come together to make cases against both inec, fg, Constitution, and the judiciary for justice to prevail, which will fasten the whole process for Peter obi to be pronounced the rightful winner of the 2023 presidential election.

So dear Obidients, lets go out to vote LP all through in this election, don't forget to snap the sheets for evidence.

Na like this FTC be? Rogers network did well today.

This is dedicated to all honest Nigerians who are doing legitimate jobs to survive. May almighty God bless your hustle. And to all of you whose source of income bring anguish to others, may you meet your waterloo soon.

And to all those Nigerian university professors and researchers using research grants to flex, you will soon be fished out.

God bless Nigeria.

I'm in your shoe, even though I have given up on going back into Agriculture. Since you don't have experience in Agric Econs, i will say you may want to consider going back to school as a way of entering that sector. Agriculture is HUGE in Canada and its not something you can enter without having the necessary qualifications/experience.

Phlunter01:
Good day fam, please do we have any Agricultural professionals in the house? I am Agricultural Economist who has been working in the bank for 6 years due to the Nigerian wind, I want to go back to Agricultural Economics and sustainable development. Any insights?

Thanks Canadian fly. You are a darling.

Canadianfly:

It just occurred to me, another tip since you plan on going with Shaw, check malls in St. James, Polo Park or Portage Place to see if you'll see their stands. They usually run promos at any given time inside malls or local fairs. The good thing is if you sign up at those stands, you can get as much as 75% of your bill for the first 6 months, and/or free installation service. So don't just go to their website and sign up....check the malls or even Unis to see if they have any stands any where inviting people to sign up.

I will advise that you thread softly on this work permit thing. A few people have had their fingers burnt and money down the drain cos of this. If you read this thread from the beginning you will see response to your inquiry. It is almost impossible to get a work permit from Nigeria.

Thank you Canadianfly. I think I will settle for Shaw then. Saw a Shaw cable in the apartment but I think it's for cable TV. Will check their site to see their packages. Thank you.

Canadianfly:

Well I believe you have Shaw and MTS to choose from. Most immigrants I know in Winnipeg use Shaw, MTS na the oyibo Canadians. Maybe it's because MTS na their own provider so they want to give back to the province? But from my findings then I Went with Shaw because it worked out cheaper as I didn't need a landline line. MTS provides a package with tv, Internet and landline. So it depends on your needs. Check their websites and check that there's coverage in the area of the city you reside. If it's an apartment block, confirm they have connection installed already so you don't pay for installing wiring etc.

To God be the glory great things he has done.

Arrived MMIA at about 9:30am, 29th Sept and proceeded to weigh my bags. My bags were overweight, had 9 in all. The staff in charge of weighing asked me to share the excess load in a 10th bag since we are a family of 5. I bought Ghana-Must-go and shared the excess weight into it. I proceeded to check-in. The lady in charge of check in refused the 10th bag saying I have an infant and she's only entitled to one luggage. No problem, I paid for excess luggage ($160). Moved to immigration and all that. Had to go identify luggage a second time before boarding. All passengers on Egypt air must do this. Left Lagos at about 1:45pm. We arrived at Cairo at about 8:30pm.
The waiting period at Cairo was soon over and time came to check-in again. Check in took longer than usual and flight didn't leave until 2:15am, 30 mins after the scheduled time.

The flight to Toronto was smooth. About 11 hrs in all. The bulk of the time was spent sleeping. Landed at Toronto airport at about 7:15am. The declaration form didnt go round on the plane so it was completed at the airport. First point of call was border security, only question there was how much cash I had and since it was less the CAD10,000, moved to immigration. The officer there collected our COPR, asked for my Canadian address if I have already, waited for him to process our COPR and we were welcomed to Canada. From there to pick our baggages, went through customs. I had filled the accompanying goods form before leaving Lagos but I couldn't locate it. The officer asked what food are we carrying which I answered spaghetti. He asked whether it's cooked, answer is no. Asked if we have beef or any dairy product, and he asked us to go. It's worth noting that some people's bags were searched. By the time we were done, I had missed my connecting flight of 10:05am to Winnipeg. Not to worry the next flight for 12 noon. Joined the flight. Flight was for 2 hrs. Arrived Winnipeg at about 1:30pm Winnipeg time. Winnipeg is one hour behind Toronto presently.
My advise to those coming, pls minimise your hand luggage if you have little kids. Also if you are using Ghana must go as check in bags, pls ensure its wrapped properly. If you are also using boxes that you have used for a few years, pls have a rethink. I had two of such boxes. I just thank God the things in it are intact. The boxes were a write off when we got here.
In all, to God be the glory.

I'm kinda curious how you came about your baggage allowance especially the hand luggage. 7 check in bags mean you have an infant who is entitled to one check in luggage. I thought infants are not entitled to hand luggage thereby leaving you with 3 hand luggages. Kindly clarify please so we can learn.

fabdee:

I'm super excited to see a good review on Egypt air ooo gosh i felt very bad when hubby booked it. Glad to hear they aint that bad. This is similar to my flight itinerary in 2weeks except that my final destination is Edmonton. I intend using up all our baggage allowance oo 7 check in bags and 4hand luggages grin hmmm i pray the 3hrs will be sufficient so we dont miss the next flight. angry undecided
Cheers to a flourishing new start in Canada.

Hi Amaky,

Thank you very much for opening this thread as a means of helping folks. I am coming to Winnipeg in a few weeks on a PR visa with my family And I will need your help on a few questions

- How is the weather like in October?
- What bank and telecoms service provider will you recommend?
- I see you have mentioned starting out on any job. I personally don't mind as long as it can pay my bills. How easily is it to go about the job search?
- What is the average cost of a 2 bedroom apartment?

Thank you. I still have a few other questions but I will stop for now.

Thank you.
