During the heyday of political and communal crises in Okene where I hail from you'll see guys receiving bullets some will die but majority of them will repel the bullets with little or no harm touching them. The thing is jazz works but it also fails sometimes just like how drugs works sometimes and other times fail to work. Just like how science relies on certain premises to bring about results which sometimes still fail so also is juju. |
gensteejay:I remember my dream as a boy our memory retention ability isn't the same. This was a significant event in my life and I wouldn't forget it. This wasn't sleep paralysis by any stretch of imagination. I know quite alright that there are scam artists who were the robe of religion to rub unsuspecting people by employing various tactics, but my experience wasn't one of those. You are free to believe your truth but the fact remains that there are things which the human mind can't comprehend. |
Swissh:At least Russian money brought us European glory, what has American and Russian money brought your team? |

Let me share a personal story. As a little boy in primary school then I had a dream that someone was lying on me and I felt pain, I woke up and lost my walking ability. Prior to this moment my limbs were functional but afterwards I couldn't work for months I had to drop out of school and start treatment when it was clear that I couldn't do anything without support from others. My parents had to spent a lot both on medical treatment and spiritual treatment before I could regain my walking ability. Alhamdulillah, I survived but there were others who didn't survive such attacks. So, it's either ignorance or arrogance that will make some deny the existence of evil forces that cohabit our planets. In Islamic faith it's an established fact that evil exists and there are prayers to guide against such. |

SEEKING LAYLATUL-QADR IN THE LAST TEN NIGHTS OF RAMADAAN. (Translated by Dawud Burbank) Al-Allaamah Ibn Battaal al-Maalikee -rahimahullaah- said in his explanation of Saheehul-Bukhaaree (4/154-157), in explanation of the Chapter: Seeking the Night of Decree in the odd nights of the last ten [Book of the virtue of the Night of Decree: Chapter 3]: At-Tabaree said: The Companions and those who followed them upon good differed concerning pinpointing the actual night of Laylatul-Qadr; and they differed in what they narrated from the Prophet -alaihis-Salaam- to pinpoint it. Ibn Masood said: It is the seventeenth night of Ramadaan; and Alee, Ibn Masood, and Zayd ibn Thaabit said: It is the nineteenth night; and some of them said: It is the twenty (first night), based upon the hadeeth of Aboo Saeed: that is also related from Alee and Ibn Mas`ood. Others said: It is the twenty third night, based upon the hadeeth of Ibn Umar and Ibn Abbaas; that is related from Ibn Abbaas, Aaishah, and Bilaal; and it was said by Makhool; and Ibn Abbaas and Bilaal said: It is the twenty fourth night; and this was the saying of al-Hasan [i.e. al-Basree] and Qataadah; and I think that those who said that were basing it upon his -alaihis-Salaam- saying: << Seek it when seven remain >>, understanding that the seventh is the first of the seven remaining nights; and that is the twenty fourth night if the month is full . And Alee, Ibn Abbaas, Ubayy ibn Kab, and Muaawiyah said: It is the twenty seventh night;and it is related from Ibn Umar that he said: It occurs within the whole of Ramadaan; and Abdullaah ibn Buraydah related: from Muaawiyah: from the Prophet (صلى الله عليه و سلم ) that he said: << It is the last night. >> And Ayyoob said: from Aboo Qilaabah that it moves around throughout all the nights of the last ten. At-Tabaree said: And the narrations reported about that from the Prophet -alaihis-Salaam- are authentic, and they are in harmony, they do not contradict each other. this is because they all relate from him -alaihis-Salaam- that it is within the last ten; and its moving around each year, to one of the last ten nights, is not to be denied. And it is known that he -alaihis-Salaam- only said, with regard to each of the nights that he commanded his Companions to seek it in, that it was in that night in that (particular) year. So what is correct is that it is in the month of Ramadaan, to the exclusion of the other months of the year, because of the consensus of all those who inherited from the Prophet -alaihis-Salaam- that he said: << (It) is in the last ten; in the odd ones from them. >> Then there is nothing specific to limit it to a particular night, such that it cannot move to a different night. So if it were restricted to a specific night, then the one having the most right to know that would be the Prophet -alaihis-Salaam: along with how eager he was to know it, so that he could make his nation aware of it. So he did not make them aware of it, except by its signs: that it is a pleasant night: not hot, and not cold; and that the sun rises on its morning white (dull), with no rays. And the fact that he directed his nation towards it by means of signs, and not by stating a particular night, is a clear proof of the falsity of the saying of those who say that certains things appear that night which do not appear in the rest of the year: such as trees falling to the ground, and then returning to their places. So if that were true, then it would not be hidden from the eyes of one who stood throughout all the nights of the year; so what about the nights of Ramadaan?! As for what this night has been singled out with, to the exclusion of the rest of the nights, then it is better than a thousand months: meaning that an action done in it : from those things which please Allaah, and which He loves: Prayer, Supplication, and the like, is better than an action done in a thousand months which do not contain the Night of Decree; and that supplication in it is responded to, as long as he does not supplicate for something sinful, nor for the cutting of ties of kinship. And Maalik said regarding his -alaihis-Salaam-: << Seek it on the ninth remaining >>: it is the night of the twenty first; and that << Seven remaining >> is the night of the twenty third night; and << Five remaining >> is the twenty fifth. The author said: The meaning of this, and the Night of Decree occuring on an odd night will only be correct if the month is short[i.e. of twenty nine days]. If it is full [i.e. of thirty days], then it will not be except on an even night. So nine remaining will be the night of the twenty second; five remaining will be the night of the twenty sixth; seven remaining will be the night of the twenty fourth: based upon what al-Bukhaaree mentioned from Ibn Abbaas: so none of them will conform to an odd night. So this proves that the Night of Decree moves around every year within the last ten: from being an odd night to being an even one, and from being an even one to being an odd one. This is because the Prophet -alaihis-Salaam- did not command his nation to seek it in a full month, but not in a short one. Rather he left seeking it unrestricted, applying to all the months of Ramadaan: those which Allaah causes to be full sometimes, and short on other occasions. So it is established that it moves within all of the last ten nights, as Aboo Qilaabah said... http://www.salafitalk.net/st/viewmessages.cfm?Forum=24&Topic=11448 |
Swissh:This is how you know those who skipped biology classes in secondary school, wasn't in secondary school we were taught Theory of Natural Selection by Charles Darwin and Lamarckism by Jean-Baptiste Lamarck? Was it not in secondary school we were Gregor Mendel's laws of genetics? |
Swissh:My brother, if you allow madness to run amok without taking the pain to uproot it due to the likeness you have for those spreading it you'll live to regret it for the rest of your life. I'm diagnosed his problem and proffered solution which is to mend his ways. |
gensteejay:The bolded may be true but it doesn't stop you from being an ignoramus your type is what is described in this verse: The likeness of those who were entrusted with the (obligation of the) Taurat (Torah) (i.e. to obey its commandments and to practise its legal laws), but who subsequently failed in those (obligations), is as the likeness of a donkey who carries huge burdens of books (but understands nothing from them). How bad is the example (or the likeness) of people who deny the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, signs, revelations, etc.) of Allah. And Allah guides not the people who are Zalimun (polytheists, wrong-doers, disbelievers, etc.). Qur'an 62:5 You may read books upon books and yet understands little or nothing from the volumes you've read reason being that you're interested in what conforms to your corrupted intellect. All you do is display the traits of someone who lacked parental during the early years of his development, you're a disaster waiting to happen if you don't mend your ways. |

diggz:Point of correction: It was his corrupted intellect that failed him not Islam, I'm quite sure the guy was too lazy to study the sciences of Islam that's why he was saying Yahweh went to Ogbomosho to learn juju work. Sometimes he will say something intelligent and you'd be like wow! this guy is a genius and the next moment he will say another bereft of any atom of intelligence- this is what happens when one is confused in his thoughts, ideas, and realism you jump from one weave things together that are not coherent and consistent. |
Critical thinker: Religion is the problem Diggz: Proffer a solution Critical Thinker: Let's start a revolution or migrate to a developed country Me: Gifted Intellectual Fraud. Politics and politicking is the major factor hampering our growth and development not religion as proclaimed by some. Religion doesn't stop one from building public infrastructure, paying workers their due, catering for the needs of the elderly and seek, having a strong security to ensure the safety of lives and property, dispensing justice without fear and favour, granting appointment to those who are duly qualified. As for the one who said Saudi Arabia are rich because of pilgrims, how were they faring before the discovery of crude oil in huge quantity despite millions still observing pilgrimage? Government spending is almost equivalent or more than what they received from pilgrims, during pilgrimage pilgrims are giving gift items from food, books, and the electricity supply in the 2holy mosques alone is 18000megawatts, ambulances and helicopters are used to ensure the safety of lives and property. There are other spending which I failed to capture. |
I won't blame Lampard for refusing to give the PK to Drogba because the game was dicey at 1-0 against a bogey team in Wigan a draw and Man Utd win would have spelled disaster for Chelsea on that day. Lampard did well for putting team success above personal glory in this case which is Drogba's golden boot ambition, Drogba wasn't the designated pk taker and his request was borne out of selfishness the coach will blame Lampard had he acceded to Drogba's demand and he missed the crucial spotkick. In that same season Darren Bent offered a PK to Kenwyne Jones who had bad run of games without a goal, Jones missed the spotkick and Sunderland either drew or lost the game, their coach Steve Bruce lambasted Darren Bent for offering the PK to Jones. |

Obafemi Martins won a header against Vidic in an EPL game despite Martins being the shorter player. Heading is not primarily a function of height alone, you must be able to judge the flight of the ball, the run of the attacking player and the position of your teammates to avoid collision and your position in respect to the goalpost. |
Roland17:I never said Abacha didn't steal what I suggest is that all the returned monies are not stolen funds, which is what al-Mustapha is implying too. |
Long but interesting read from an interview with Major Al-Mustapha Major Hamza Al-Mustapha (retd) was the Chief Security Officer, CSO, to the late Head of State, Gen. Sani Abacha. In this interview, Mustapha speaks on the never ending Abacha loot recovery among other issues surrounding the deceased Nigerian leader. Many Nigerians feel that the regime of the late Gen. Sani Abacha was notorious for fraud. The looting of the country under the administration, according to revelations, is mind boggling. As his former Chief Security Officer, CSO, what is your story? I spoke on this subject earlier but, whether alive or dead, the truth remains the truth and the truth should be told. There is no fear in saying the truth. I appeared in numerous functions and I spoke. The first time I was given the opportunity to speak was at Oputa Panel in 2000 and 2001 and when God Almighty granted me freedom I spoke on 2013. Till date, I have been talking about what I know. For me and for those who really know how the government worked, Gen. Abacha suffered a lot of attacks. The first time I heard the word loot associated with the government was when we were in Kirikiri Prisons. I think it was in December when we were transferred from Ikoyi Prisons to Kirikiri. I saw the word ‘loot’ in the papers even though we hadn’t the opportunity of looking at newspapers properly. And I saw some security operatives coming to discuss with Mohammed Abacha (Gen Abacha’s son) in that respect. Nobody throughout my stay with the Head of State had any transactions with me, nobody gave me money. I was operating within what was in my own office to protect the government. Now, there was an issue I talked about in 2016 in Lagos concerning Abacha loot. What I know is that there was a time sanctions were imposed on Nigeria by the UK, US and two other countries and that was at the behest of some senior Nigerians who believed that they must fight Gen Abacha. But to counter the sanctions, then-Head of State requested to talk with stakeholders from across Nigeria, North and South, and there was a discussion on the sanctions and the threat against the country; the meeting held in Abuja but outside the Villa because of the size of the people in attendance that was bigger than the size of the Conference Hall inside the Presidency. The agreement at that meeting was to take funds outside into the hands of people in the private sector so that the nation could still import and export to, at least, beat the sanctions. That I know of. Any other thing outside that I really do not know, nobody consulted me. I had nothing to do with money and that is why I said in that interview in 2016 that I was embarrassed to hear the word loot because I know how prudent the late Gen. Abacha was and I know that when the government came to power, there was nothing left in the foreign reserves. Government had less than 200 million dollars in the reserves meaning that the administration was to start afresh and people didn’t know that. He had to scavenge to run the country and build the foreign reserves to nine billion, seven hundred and thirty two dollars as of June 1998 when he died. People didn’t know but I know. At Oputa Panel, I asked questions, the monies that were transferred into numerous accounts outside Nigeria, in whose accounts were these monies and in whose companies’ names? When were the monies taken out? Was it during General Abacha’s tenure as Head of State or when he was Minister of Defence? Nigerians need to know how much monies were in such banks and in whose accounts were they lodged? What was the agreement between the account holders and Gen. Abacha? Were the monies for Abacha or for Nigeria? Basic questions as to how monies were moved outside Nigeria must be asked and the countries in whose banks such monies were kept also have reports; what were the reports at the time of deposit? Which year? Which time and what was the reason given for the deposit? The unfortunate thing for Gen. Abacha was the fact that he was succeeded by two governments where personalities in them fought him and hated him to death. And I asked both governments that “if you want to investigate Abacha government, start with me”. There was nothing they didn’t do. They brought INTERPOL. They had all sorts of investigations and I challenged them they were paying me salary in Bank of the North and that they should look out for any account of mine whether in Nigeria or abroad and see what was there; if there was anything that I had taken outside what I was supposed to earn as salary, I should be exposed and prosecuted. For the 4 years 7 months of the Abacha regime, oil price remained at $8 or $9 per barrel. And General Abacha never took any loan. So the country was scavenging to survive. And from 200 million dollars in the foreign reserves, it went up to nine billion. If he was alive, do you think so much would have been said about this loot? If the monies recovered were associated to looting, Abacha stole nothing compared to what we are seeing. What many people don’t know genuinely is how much Nigeria is earning monthly not only from oil sector but also from every other sector of the economy. And the price of oil shot up. But there was nothing left. And you can say looting but, to me, it is all being said because he is dead. If there is true investigation, I am sure the story would be different. I know of a particular government after he died that was giving people the condition that they should abuse or condemn Abacha as a looter to get appointment. If you accept, you will become a minister or be given a parastatal to head. But some countries have also attested to the fact that they received some loot and they tied it to Abacha. We have heard government saying monies were stashed in Switzerland among other countries. The questions I raised earlier on every of the accounts traced, were they answered? If they are answered to the satisfaction of the laws of those countries and those of Nigeria, then you would be able to know the truth. Were the monies taken from the Central Bank? What was the reason for moving the monies? Earlier you talked about some individuals who were invited… I said individuals, stakeholders were invited and there was a large meeting and it was in that meeting where this decision was taken. And it was in prison that I first heard about loot, that was when the word ‘loot’ was mentioned to me and I said I was embarrassed. Were funds given out at the time to those individuals invited for the meeting? How can money be given there? You mean cash? Yes. If money moved, I haven’t seen that and if there was movement of cash physically there, everybody would have seen it. Elders from the North, elders from the South, some people from the traditional institution and some people from Manufacturers Association of Nigeria and many other stakeholders including ministers were there, members of the Provisional Ruling Council were there. The question is why are they not being asked questions? So many people are afraid to talk not because they don’t know the truth. The man Abacha suffered propaganda which affected some of us with numerous attempts on our lives just to shut some people up. If you are asked today, did Abacha loot Nigeria’s money, would you say yes or no? You cannot speak on what you do not know. All I know is that Abacha suffered propaganda and games of hate. He did so much in rescuing this country and helping the country but I would never speak on what I do not know. There are rumours that, to me, remain rumours and, when I see facts, I say them the way I see them and, if you see the way I testified at Oputa Panel, it tells you my character. You can threaten my life with ABCD, but, I tell you, numerous lies in high places were cooked and sponsored against General Abacha and were sustained with so much money. Nigerians were talking about $16 billion power money, right? Why was the matter covered? The whole of the Abacha loot that they are talking about was how much? But in one single incident, there was $16 billion and the whole country is defrauded and nobody can talk and I tell you it is much more than that. And a top government official was shot and that was because of that money. https://www.vanguardngr.com/2020/03/revelations-on-abacha-loot-how-funds-were-taken-out-of-nigeria-al-mustapha-2/ cc: Ibime, Larride, and Roland17 |
Roland17:How many barrels are sold per day and at what price as at then? The recovered funds can't all be looted by the regime, remember we were sanctioned and we had bills to pay I think to circumvent the sanctions the regime used third-parties to lodge money abroad for foreign transaction purposes. Are some of the recoveries looted the probability and possibility is very high, but are all of them loots? I highly doubt it |
I don't believe all the monies returned so far are looted funds there is something we don't know yet and I hope the actors during Abacha regime will come and speak or write a memoir |
