A source told Dailymail: "Mudryk is trying so hard, it is like he is in the gym every hour of the day |
One source close to the dressing room — speaking anonymously to The Athletic to protect relationships — has questioned how much Silva is showing he is a winner in the dressing room and setting the standards. They claim that there is “no one really taking responsibility, driving everyone, making it clear ‘we’re all in this together’. You can see this on the pitch.” ~ @TheAthleticFC |
Chelsea’s struggle in attack does not reflect well on Pochettino. A source close to senior players says it is because Pochettino has given limited tactical instruction to the attacking players and been keeping the message simple instead by, for example, encouraging people to express themselves. Others dispute this and regard the problem as being more caused by not being able to field a consistent line-up due to injuries. ~ @TheAthleticFC |
Gianfranco Zola on Chelsea: "My understanding is they are planning to build a team within the next three or four years but players left that were there a long time and that won a lot – [Cesar] Azpilicueta, Jorginho, [Kai] Havertz, [Mateo] Kovacic — players that probably everyone looked up to. You need those players. In difficult moments you rely on those players. So many left and that doesn’t help the situation." |
Pochettino on Mudryk: "Mischa is a very talented player of course. You need to go with him slowly. His culture is very different, but he is trying to be more open, to adapt, to be more involved, on and off the pitch. He is doing a massive effort to try to integrate himself and understand better what it means to play in the team." |

The sense is that Levi Colwill is being used [at left back] to protect Thiago Silva, whose lack of pace is a problem in central defence. [ @JacobSteinberg ] |
Insiders rave about Pochettino. Training is intense under the Argentinian. He commands the respect of the players and has impressed with his attention to detail. The interest Pochettino has taken in Mudryk, the £88.5m winger, has also gone down well. ~ @JacobSteinberg |
Gianfranco Zola on Chelsea: "When you invest so much money and you bring in so many new players the risk is you don’t form a group because it’s difficult. The players have to create a bond. It takes time. I hope the supporters understand the expectation level can’t be like it was four or five years ago. This is not the same team now. This team is forming itself. That’s the problem at the moment." ~ @TimesSport |
Over the first seven gameweeks, no striker has produced as many sprints (153) as Nicolas. No attacker has made as many runs, with his 216 the most in the Premier League. Only Son Heung-min of Spurs and former Blue Dominic Solanke, now at Bournemouth, among forwards made more pressures in the final third that led to a turnover than Jackson (who has made 22). {Dailymail} |
The mood inside Chelsea is calmer than you might imagine. Instead of panicking after another summer of heavy spending with an underwhelming start to the season, they have looked beyond the results, studied the data and concluded that the situation will improve – if they hold their nerve. ~ @JacobSteinberg |

Frank Leboeuf: "Maybe right now on the bench (is Havertz's best position) because he doesn't disturb the others." |
Paul Merson: "Someone's going to be on the end of [a #Chelsea trashing] soon. I don't know when, but they are going to put three, four or five past someone soon." ( @SkySports ) |

Chelsea think Lesley Ugochukwu is a bit of a gem and there’s excitement that while all the talk has been of the vast sums thrown around, he might actually prove to be a bot of a bargain. ( @DeanJonesSoccer via @GiveMeSport ) |

Danny Murphy: "The reality is, if he [Mudryk] was walking through the door at Manchester City, we’d be seeing a different player than at Chelsea because of the state the club’s in. I think we will see the best of him. I’m not sure on some of the other signings, but I don’t worry about him. He’s talented." |

Itsrm:He is a good candidate if not the best out of the rest but he lacks structure to win an election that has taken an ethnic dimension. He is from Kogi West same as Dino of PDP with 7LGs, then we have Ajaka who is from Kogi East with 9LGs and more population then, Ododo of APC from Kogi Central with 5LGs and power of incumbency. The fight is still between APC and PDP and to some extent SDP. |

Cole Palmer: “I enjoyed playing in that role tonight but to be totally honest, I’m comfortable in any of the attacking positions. Whether that’s as a No.10, out wide on the left or right or even as striker, I’m happy to do a job for the team." |
