Say the truth please. It is the south that bring religion into Nigerian politics and not the north. In the north, politicians are quite different from their clergymen and on different levels which is not so in the south.
If Peter Obi had won, every Christian in this country would have believed that it is the church that won and also that the Christians are more than Muslims in population.
Now you have successfully proven the dominance of muslims with Tinubu's victory, hope you doing better now,

East doesn't want power. They simply want Nigeria to work for everyone. Get that into your thick skull.

There's a great & deep mystery about HOW WOMEN THINK/REASON.

If truly, they're ruled by emotions, then guz, help your wives, sisters, daughters, nieces, cousins, aunts & mothers; it kinda means their vulnerability is how easily they capitulate to emotions, blackmails, threats, temptations, et al, irrespective of status, religion, education, exposure... Remember Eve, Lot's wife, the 400 women who slept with the Equatorial Guinea randiest man, & finally, millions of women who have fraudulently given other men's children to their husbands to cater for?!??

BusinessRe: Victims Explain Why Igbo Apprenticeship System Is Failing by Amumaigwe: 3:51pm On Dec 12, 2024
AmiableMosquito:
The dishonest masters who unfortunately happen to be in the majority are the ones ruining the once effective apprenticeship system.

Just last month, I was listening to one who brought his case to the popular radio programme "Brekete Family", and lamented about how his master used him for 9 years (after initially agreeing on just 6 years) and left him without any form of settlement thereafter. He narrated how his boss would ask him and the other apprentice to come and wash clothes including the boss wife's panties in his residence. He bought bathroom slippers for them which he mandated them to wear always and warned them never to wear any other footwear apart from bathroom slippers which he would still seize anytime they "misbehaved", leaving them to walk bare footed as a form of punishment. It was really heart-wrenching to hear the guy's ordeal that morning.

There is also another man who lives very close to my housee and who sells water tanks in large quantities. I see how he treats his apprentice whenever they visit and it makes me wonder if these men have any conscience at all.

Every labourer deserves his/her wages. I think it is better to sign agreements with enough witnesses and notarise it properly before embarking on the journey of apprenticeship.
Igbo apprenticeship system has a much higher success rate than the Nigeria system. You support wobbling Nigeria, while denigrating a much more promising one. I dikwa okay?

Honestly, God really wants to use Atiku to answer our prayer of breaking up Nigeria.

Happy that, he did not respect rotation of power between the South & north, not knowing that what's keeping Nigeria as one is that unconstitutional arrangement

And Nigeria already sitting on the fence as the oness of Nigeria is shaking, Atiku believe in using force & military to keep Nigeria as one 😂😂😂

Not knowing that, it's just politicians from region that's supporting one Nigeria because of Thier turn to be in power.

The moment it's taken from them by north, all southern politicians will start supporting breakup secretly & that's definitely breakup Nigeria
Stop fooling yourself. Nigeria will never break up over which region monopolizes presidency. Injustice is already deeply entrenched and we are already used to it.

PoliticsRe: Atiku Criticizes Calls For Northern Patience Until 2031 Presidential Bid by Amumaigwe: 5:19am On Dec 10, 2024
YouandiAllofus:
Whether Tinubu can or cannot be defeated in the next poll is not the issue.

Tinubu will have atleast one Challenger in the next poll.
And the north is trying to unseat a southern Muslim with a southern Christian in the next poll. If that happens, Muslims would have been president for 12 consecutive years since Buhari, then slide in a Christian in Johnathan for just 4years, so as to have a fully north breeded Muslim president for the next 8years.
12years plus 8years will be 20years Muslim presidency with the christians tasting just 4years within that time.

Whether Tinubu gets to complete 2terms or Johnathan gets to unseat Tinubu for just 1term as president, either way, it will be a loss for the southern Christian.
And the Johnathan card will deliver the worse blow to South if you notice.

So, I will Support Tinubu presidency for 2term over Atiku or Johnathan.
This is the way to go as it will compel the north to field a northern Christian after Tinubu 2 terms to improve their chances of winning the presidency to the North.

Interesting times ahead in politics
You talk as if it is the Northern or Southern /Christian or Muslim President that puts food on your table. If you have not learnt anything with the last two administrations, then history will surely repeat itself for you.

Under Tinubu the judiciary has been bought, the armed forces, the media...In fact every sector of this country reeks of corruption.

Nigeria is where it is today because of corruption. There's massive looting in all the sectors. No accountability...

In less than 2 years he has borrowed billions of dollars with nothing to show for it. All the development his zombies applaud him for are on paper.

Companies are leaving this godforsaken country in their dozens, the ones left are struggling to survive.

Families are struggling to survive.

Just this morning a friend of mine was telling me that their company told them that they wouldn't be organizing end of the year party for them this year. VAT WAR: REMOVE THE VAT ON YOUR ALCOHOL AND GET DRUNK TO STUPOR WITH CHEAP ALCOHOL. PERIOD!

By Cham Faliya Sharon

I have a feeling that the word stupid is derived from the word stupor, which literally means being dull to intellect or intelligence, or being numb and dumb and dull to one's self-awareness. But then, we are talking about VAT. Therefore, let's talk about VAT, and then we'll get to numb and dumb and dull and whatever.

The North's chief occupation is agriculture, and governments don't charge VAT on agricultural products so that they can be not too expensive for you. That you have more VAT than the North doesn't make you more productive than them. Actually, there has never ever been any evidence that you are more productive than them in either entrepreneurship or agriculture or in any worthwhile venture. That's why a little strike by onion farmers or sweet pepper farmers or tomato farmers always puts you in a chokehold of hunger and lamentation.

The breweries and soft drink plants, including other factories in your areas, that produce high VAT revenues use these same agricultural materials from the North that have not been VATed. In other words, if VAT were to be charged on them ab initio, the North will record huge VAT revenues solely from agriculture without mentioning other ventures. Therefore, it is absolutely absurd to gloat on purported high VAT revenues without considering all the factors involved in generating the VAT. And if you mock some northern states for receiving VAT earned from breweries while still banning the sales and consumption of alcohol in their states, then from where did you get the corn, sorghum, and sugarcane products you used in brewing it?

If this VAT war is to continue as it were, with excessively garrulous pomposity and arrogance oozing out from those who seemingly know nothing about the basic elements of economics and production but yet derive pleasure in ascribing parasitism to those who truly earn the rights of being labelled as the most productive people in land use and entrepreneurship in Nigeria, then let VAT be charged on all agricultural products, including the corn, sorghum, wheat, barley, and sugarcane that are used as the primary ingredients for brewing alcohol.

Of course, food prices will go up in addition to their current astronomical rise due to the unwholesome embrace of IMF diktats by the IMF surrogates in power, but the accruing VAT earnings will help raise the VAT profile of Northern states that are usually being ridiculed as parasites by beetleheads, and the farmers there in the North will also get huge (deserved) bumps in their financial earnings due to enhanced valuation of the prices of their farm produce, including cattle, sheep, goats, and other livestock.

And if by charging VAT on agricultural products the prices of alcohol brands end up getting affected by becoming expensive, then the people in the states where breweries are located can beg the federal government to remove VAT on alcohol at their own end so that alcohol can become cheap, and so that they can be drinking themselves to stupor with cheap alcohol. In fact, by removing VAT from alcohol it will even help them to stop mocking northern states whom they accuse of "receiving VAT from alcohol" sales while subscribing themselves to religious conservatism. That way, we can all be spared the annual hypocritical noises of mockery from people who are confused about what they own and what they don't own, or what they believe in and what they don't believe in.

When you don't know what you actually own and what you actually believe in, the quest for morality will either elude you or appear elusive to you, and that's the point at which you begin to mock those who are making genuine efforts towards attaining genuine morality because pride in alcohol has made you numb and dumb and dull to the realities of your own backyard.
The above submission is a no-brainer. You claim that the North is a productive geopolitical zone, yet they resists every attempt made at restructuring using their overbloated and disproportionate representation in the NA which they justify using their large unproductive population.

Why then would a region with a population size that determines who wins election in Nigeria be depending on a less populated South for VAT revenue that is generated from a consuming population? That should be the conversation and not threat of withholding their farm produce that they readily offload on the south at premium prices. It is equivalent to a country like China threatening to stop exports to important markets like US or India as a means of pressing home their importance. Can they consume all their finished goods? It is the buyer, not the seller, that holds all the aces
in commerce.
Rather than throwing tantrums like an infant that was just weaned off the mother's breasttmilk , the North should put their population to work.

I'm a southerner and I'm against the bill. Don't make it about south vs north. The big problem with Nigeria is how we quickly tribalise issues without listening to the other side to know if their concerns are genuine or not.
The north have issues with VAT derivation. At least that seems to be the main thing they are fighting against. A lot of southern govs are also against the bill. So we should listen to all sides and be properly informed by asking the right questions instead of taking a position based on geographical location that does not add anything to you or the conversation.
