I am very disappointed in this generation of Nigerians who malign others either from the North, South, East or Western part of the country. The upper class in Nigeria has created a wedge that has caused hatred among the groups. I am Igbo man who lived with Northerners and I was treated with respected and as one Nigerian. You guys who come on Social Media and spew hate but when you turn on the TV, you see Dangote and Otedola hanging out. Those guys were friends from back in the day and yet they are cordial. True talk. The rich Igbos ,Yoruba and hausa's get along just fine. They don't have time to come online and be spewing hate. Abacha was never from kano state but Borno state. Even the mark on his face is that of kanuri tribe from borno, he only claimed to be from kano.

Please don't get it twisted. Although his origins are Kanuri from Borno, he and his siblings were all born and brought up in Kano.

Even when in the military, he identified as a Kano man and also kept close ties with Kano till death. Married a Kano woman. His & his siblings children are kano indigenes. Till this day, residents in the heart of fagge LG can still show you their family house. Kano is the only home Abacha knew.

His Dad was a hides and skin trader who migrated from Maiduguri to Kano and later settled in Kano. Abacha was more Kano than anything.

I served in Kano between July 2017-July 2018 and it's among the worst periods of my life.
